Note 3 USB tethering help - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am not sure if this is the right place to post about this, but I have a Note 3 (not on contract) and I am with 3 mobile (uk)
I have no broadband Internet and likely won't for a while, I use my phone for USB tethering and purchase the unlimited data package when topping up, but 3 clamp down on tethering after 3pm all the way until midnight. After midnight I get speeds up to 2.8MB/s. As I use it for gaming on my pc I do not like the 9hr wait after 3pm. Is there any way to work around this?
USB tethering is the only way I can tether to my pc as it has no wireless card.
Phone is rooted running stock rom and kernel.
I have tried PDAnet / Foxfi's USB tethering, but to no avail.
Tldr: tethering speeds clamped after 3pm until midnight, looking for a way around the clamping (not on contract).

Wing and usb modem

I was wondering if anyone has used usb modem to tether on tmobile and have their unlimited email/internet if you tethered and they don't charge you extra if you use it. can they detect the tethering?
no they cant
i've used internet sharing (that is on the stock ROM) when the internet was cut off in my dorm during mid terms and everyone had papers due (morons). worked fine, no extra charges either. i also have a program that will turn your phone into a wireless router. that works nicely too
I use it all the time! In fact im usin it right now! Hey how do you turn your phone into a wifi router??? id like to know! Thanks !!

Tether gone wacky: AT&T, old RUS ROM

For those who recall, I cracked my Trinity screen on January 1st of 2008. Using MyMobiler, I still use my PDA for tethering.
Up until December 22, tethering was fine with AT&T. 3G speeds of about 400k up and down at my home. Since then, tethering breaks about 3-5 minutes after it starts, requiring a battery-out on the PDA, and a reboot of the notebook.
The tether (USB or Bluetooth) shows an active connection, but no pinging (IP or domain) and no connection. Sometimes it clears up on its own.
Last year around Christmas, my tethering slowed to a crawl -- I figured it was all the idiots getting their new-fangled phones and trying their hardest to download as many ringtones as possible. So I figured this is the same issue.
But I borrowed a friend's Motorola RAZR V3xx, plugged my SIM in, set up a tether, and it works fine. Even faster than my Trinity (500K up and down). Plus, it works for hours and hours.
I'm guessing my Trinity is just done. Sad, but possible. It gets ridiculously hot when USB charging. I've contemplated buying a new LCD screen, but I guess it's time to just retire it in the shoebox with my other 25 PDAs.
Anyone seen similar issues, though?

How to get around Restrictive NAT issues for ps3 or xbox360

Ok so recently i was trying to work out the best way to get around the NAT issue when using my Note to tether.
For those that often query this, in the uk one of our providers 3 has a plan called "the one plan", for £25 a month i get 2000 cross network mins, 5000 3 to 3 mins, unlim texts, and ALL YOU CAN EAT DATA.
YES, all you can eat, anyway on this forum familiar to this will know about it already, but they basically have a soft cap of 450gb a month and fully allow data roaming and tethering on this plan, i believe the only network in england to allow this.
So of course i wanted to make full use of this,, and i use tethering as my internet as 3 in the uk is very fast, in my location i achieve connections through my note of 5mbps+, which is more than adequate for now, my average download speeds are around 700mbps, so i decided to stay with it as my home internet as with those stats it seemed pointless wasting money on home broadband.
The issue occurred when i connected my 360 via wifi to my note i would get NAT RESTRICTIVE warnings, stopping me from connecting to friends, i found a way around this, without needing any 3rd party android apps.
Step 1 - connect my note as usual by turning on portable hotspot.
step 2 - on my 360 i connected a crossover cable to my laptop or pc, whichever you use from the xbox.
Step 3 - is to goto your pc or laptops wireless adapter settings and enable ICS (sharing) and make sure any firewalls are disabled.
Step 5 - turn on your xbox and select wired instead of wireless, this will then use the shared connection on the pc ya connected to via the crossover, test your connection and bingo.
Problem solved, no more restrictive nat warnings.
This may or may not have already been solved on here, but i couldnt finding anything after fruitless hours of searching, this method works for any console you go online with and yes, the game i mainly play is fifa12 and BF and both are completely lagfree over the notes connection and the 3 network.
Just a warning on mobile providers though, i know some like sprint dont allow tethering, you would have to check that yourself with your network, they may charge extra to tether, so please be careful you dont run up huge bills, if youre in the uk and on 3, i know a few of you guys are, then the oneplan is the package you want, after all, nobody could use 450gb a month anyway, on average i use 85gig a month on my phone.
I hope this post may help someone else that is struggling with tethering.
by the way, sorry mods, i meant to post this in general not in Q&A, i do apologise, please feel free to move.

[Q] reverse usb tether

so. anyone know if this can be done on the 2012 N7? See.. my router in the house is all the way across the house, and i only have a 3.5 gig data plan.. so i need that free internet. Is it somehow possible to connect my N7 via USB and get it? I tried making my pc a wifi hotspot.. things got hot really fast, and this is already a hot room.

[Q] Charging issues while using PDAnet

Any Solutions or Buildprop edits I can do?
I don't have internet where i live, (Rural Texas) but I have 30 Mbps speeds on my T-Mobile Plan. I have unlimited 4G data and Unlimited 4G Hot spot. I used PDA-net because speeds through Hot spot/Tethering are complete ****. PDA-net masks my USB tethered through phone usage so I get Full Unthrottled speed.
My issue is this, During heavy usage (Literally any time I am at home) my phone slowly dies and doesn't really charge. I have connected it through USB C to USB C cables, with USB 3.0 to USB C etc. Granted it takes around 18-20 Hours to die from 100% but still I think it shouldn't loose charge at all.
I know that the build prop used to have some line about max available current over USB. is there a way i can fix this situation?
Custom kernels usually have a way to change that if you have root and a custom kernel to flash

I'm not understanding something, if you have unlimited 4G Hotspot, why would you need to mask your tethering? Shouldn't you be able to tether to your hearts content without throttling?
I don't personally use PDAnet, but I do make use of USB tethering and don't have issues with charging while tethering. I don't have unlimited tethering however, and was unaware there was such an add-on to a plan. I use another method to mask my tethering data and use the native tether options to connect.
Wifi tethering is limited to a 72Mb connection(max theoretical), while USB is around 480Mb or so.
I would try and test native USB tethering first to rule out PDAnet as the drain.
