Out of nowhere, my phone rebooted (which it has a history of occasionally doing) but this time it wouldn't completely reboot. It was stuck at the Verizon splash screen for about 5 minutes before I held power button and volume down to force it to reboot.
It then continued to boot completely only to reboot as soon as it started up. This craziness continued for several restarts until I plugged the phone into the charger.
After that it stopped. I don't know if it had anything to do with the charger being plugged in which stopped the repeated restarts or if it was coincidence.
Any ideas what may have been happening? The phone has been pretty stable for 2 months since I got it.

Any new app installs?
Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
Not any new apps that I recall. Of course they are always updating. There was nothing out of the usual occurring, although I do think Verizon messaging was acting really flaky. It just reset itself to default and wiped all the app data. When I opened it, the app was taking me through the tutorial and everything.

My phone did this when I installed the Samsung Good Lock app. Restarted and removed the app twice after I installed it.

Last night my phone was working perfectly and i didnt install any new apps yesterday so i dont know what caused this to happen...
At about 6am today i turned on my phone. it was all fine until i unlocked it. When i put in my pattern it unlocked and it showed a few of my icons for about half a second and then it came up with an error message saying that the launcher had crashed so i pressed "ok" and it came up again so i pressed "report" and then it said "market feedback agent has stopped" and went back to the launcher and came up with the first error again.
i was just thinking about a way of getting around all the errors to install a new launcher so then i could use my phone. i plugged in my earphones and used the button to start playing my music, then i unlocked my phone and quickly opened skype before the error came up again and then i went in my notifications and i could open Play Music from the notification, i had a notification for an app update so i clicked it and it opened the play store so i installed "go launcher ex" i tried going into my recent apps to change my song but it said "system ui" had crashed, i tried to get into my settings but that crashed too, i worked out that it was most of the stock apps and a few others like bbm that werent working.

rebooted already? This usually fixes a lot of probs.

This is happening to me to. I fix it by clearing the ram or closing all open apps. But it happens like once daily now. Any long term solutions?

same issue as here...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2513412
just different description... Just cleared google service framework data... will check back in on that thread after tomorrow morning and let you know if it works.
Same here. Bone stock and I don't even shut the phone off but overnight something happens to it and all apps crash. It sucks because it was my morning alarm but the clock app crashes without sounding the alarm.
If I reboot it will work perfect till the next morning, then all over again. Wiped and it still does it. Called it in and Google wasn't aware of anything so if you get this make sure and call Google so they know its widespread.
I cleared services framework and it solved it. So far, 2 days without infinite force closes

Same thing happened to me today. I rebooted into recovery, cleared cache, clear dalvik cache and reboot. Been fine since.

That did not fix it for me.
I got the infinite loop the next morning.
i tried re-booting but nothing happened, i had to go into recovery mode and reset my phone. now i wish i made a backup.
I haven't been getting those major crashes yet but after a while I can't open any apps or they "stop. " I think it has been happening ever since I returned to stock for the kit Kat update. Closing all the apps sometimes fixes it but that ruins my favorite part of the phone which is I can have all my stuff open all the time.

I'm still having this problem. Did everyone else fix it or did it just go away?

I'm on 4.4 and unrooted. My phone has the longest startup time ever. It used to be fast and I haven't done anything out of the ordinary to have probably caused the issue. It boots normally, but then when the att logo appears, it does the little animation but then vibrates once slightly, then usually follows another slight vibrate some seconds later. This usually occurs for about 45 seconds to a minute until my lockscreen appears. I factory reset, and I tried powering off and on right after the reset. It was back to normal. However after I downloaded all my apps again and reinstated my settings, the problem reappeared. Is it simply because of the number of apps I have? I don't remember this happening before the update. I thought it was because I had downloaded and used zooper widget, but I uninstalled that app and tried the booting. It was the same duration (1 minute on att screen)
My bad. I'm on Android 4.3 *

So I have a rooted defy mini and a few days ago it started randomly rebooting. I first noticed it when I tried to wake the phone from sleep, the capacitive buttons lit up but the display stayed black and after a few seconds the phone rebooted. This has happened a few more times since. But now I also noticed that it reboots without me doing anything. I was watching tv with the phone next to me and I saw the screen light up and the phone rebooted just like that. NOTE: It hasn't rebooted while I'm using it, just when it's inactive

Did you just root the official builds or what? Which Build are you using generally? Did you check your ROMs known limitations? Besides that it could be an Application causing that, especially with root privileges so if you know you're using a known to be stable build you might start writing your tuning/cleaning apps. Btw., did you OC?

Wipe Data/Factory Reset in Stock Recovery and flash the stock SBF using RSD-Lite.
I am using stock 2.3.6. Anyway since I posted it hasn't restarted yet. Don't know what was causing it. Maybe it was just a temporary issue

Hey guys,
So I was on PowerUser 2.0. For months I was fine but it started going nuts yesterday when I woke up. I somehow managed to get it back to stock JellyBean but there are still the same issues.
What is happening:
I can get the phone to start. Sometimes it goes through the LG screen multiple times, though. It usually freezes up 2-5 minutes after startup and just restarts. If the screen turns off it's even more likely to be frozen. This is more like the black screen of death -- can't get it to turn back on but the phone is still "on."
Then I have to hard reset it and go from there and rinse repeat.
Is this the hardware failing? Any ideas for what to do?
Adding on to this. The led is blinking in a weird pattern when the screen is off(not when it fails to wake up but just in general). I'm able to use it for hours at a time now but I think it may have something to do with heavy use or it heating up. Just seems weird that it is still functional and everything seems fine it just seems like I can't get the display to come back on. I'm relatively sure the phone is fine behind scenes but then again a lot of the freeze ups come with the phone on and the whole screen just won't react then it restarts on its own

No ideas?
So I can get it to work generally if I just keep using it. If it heats up it seems to restart a lot. If it does start restarting I generally have to hold the power until it is fully off to restart it or it just loops the LG logo.
There's times when it goes hours between restarts, and then times it does it every ten minutes. I really think over heating has something to do with it, but I have no idea for sure.
I can't seem to find anything like it online
So I'm using a loaner phone and am letting the battery run out on the g2. It hasn't shut down once when I'm not using it. So like 3 days of uptime.
Does that help anyone with maybe pining down what's up?

Over the past couple week my phone has been running very slow. Ill hit the home button and it takes forever to get to my lock screen, or when im opening up an app the phone temporarily freezes. Restarting it helps but only for about a day. I haven't installed and sketchy apps, I have done a factory reset, I have cleared the cache, i have disabled all bloatware, and i have ran lookout security. The phone is not over heating it often does this when the phone is at standby temp. So any other suggestions on how i may fix this? Thanks
