bought my new sprint galaxy s4 tuesday after having a rooted s2 for years. im pulling my hair out trying to root it. i used CF autoroot and had root access till my first reboot. then it and SU went away. been trying to re-root ever since. i manage to get CWM recovery to install but root will not re-install no matter what i try. im so frustrated!!!!! everything looks like it installs every way i try it but its not there no errors. im on stock MF9 sprint variant. i wish rwilco had that one on his site!!!! thats :crying:how i kept my S2 up to date
Try flashing agat's kernel. It has auto-root. Version 0.4.0 works very well.
It checks for root at start up. If its not there it will auto install.

So I could not get the phone to root (super user binary issue) and I installed that SetUID kernal and now my phone will not boot. Can someone please guide me to a fix. Thanks
Set uid kernel? What are you talking about? The sprint gs4 doesn't gave a kernel like that.

Crap I just realized that it is a T-mobile thing. Am I completely screwed now?...should have following my rule and read twice downloaded once.
If you did flash a kernel with that name, it would explain your boot problems.
Flash one for the Sprint S4 and all will be good.

OK I am currently downloading the 1.4gig SPR-L720VPUEMK2-20131212171424.zip file and will Odin that onto my phone. It is still about 40min from finish so if there is something smaller then I could try that in the mean time. Thanks for the Info and assurance that I maybe alright.

Any of the appropriate kernels from the original development section will get you up and running. You'll just have to pick one for whatever rom you were one (4.3, 4.4, tw, aosp, etc)

How do I get into stock recovery? Tried up, mid, power. Just flashes the galaxy screen and turns off.
Ok so found out that I can get into recov with power plugged in. So battery is low. But now did fact reset and still galaxy screen the now just blue led black screen
ok so I am back running. installed mk2_stock02 from Dev page. Was able to get CWM booting and loaded the ROM from there. My next question, probably has been answered but this is where my problem started before. When I go to open the SuperSU I get an error saying there is no SU Binary installed....and then closes.
Install super su from market

alright Im back in action. used CF-auto root and away we went. Now I have successfully rooted my gear also. Thanks for the Help guys I really appreciate it.
I have been testing the slim rom 4.4.2 for i9295 and I have found a couple bugs. I am new so I cant post in the main thread.
I cant move apps to sd card.
The network will not connect for data unless you turn on and off airplane mode several times.
Also MLB trade rumor app crashes on startup.
Otherwise everything works perfect.
The network thing is a major pain though.
Wrong section. This section is for the SPH-L720 (Sprint Galaxy S4).

So, I went ahead and followed this tut, to get custom recovery/root/sd card fix.

Used this kernel to repair wifi calling

Phone seems stable etc. Is there anything else I should know that might be different from the regular t model of the phone.
Thanks!!
Other than better GPS and being on native 5.1.1 it's the same. Enjoy it!

What rom would this be? I rooted and follow the steps and had some very bad performance on the stock rom.

I followed this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/not...y-steps-n910t3-dofc-dog1-how-to-root-t3177225
Everything went smooth. Lost wifi calling, so flashed emotion kernel, then the phone just started running like crap. As far as I'm aware there is no way to root without having a custom kernel?
Also is this the rom you're talking about? http://forum.xda-developers.com/not...-boc4-tekxodus-n4-urv1-4-14-15-note4-t3082085
Yea that's it u have to make sure u flashing the right one which is for the t3 right now I'm running tekxodus uvr2 and every thing running smooth I would try to do a wipe atleast 3 times and flash it again u do have the t3 right?

Yeah, I wasn't using that rom. I was actually just using the stock rom, following that tutorial I linked you http://forum.xda-developers.com/not...y-steps-n910t3-dofc-dog1-how-to-root-t3177225
and it was just running crapy.
I just downloaded the 5.1.1 for the t3 (yes I have the t3 model) and I'm working on installing it now. Seems like it might be in a boot loop atm.
Oh on I would try that urv2 n5r1 edition I was on urv1 for the t3 and it was OK a Lil buggy but tek came with the urv2 and fixed some issues and is running better now so try that and let me know
Also make sure u have the latest twrp also

I wipe 3 times, flash the rom labeled (TEKXodus_N4_5.1.1_URv2.1_N5R1_T3_TEKHD) then I see these 4 circles on the screen, they stay there for about 2 mins, go away, it reboots and then goes back to them.
Should I let it continue to repeatedly do this, is this part of the process or is this a boot loop?
No actually it's not suppose to do that after flashing the rom try taking out the battery for a couple seconds them put it back then reboot to see what happens but yea the circles is part of the rom

Just tried that, tried to reflash again, same thing is happening. I'm letting it install off of my internal memory, should I be installing it from my SD card?
Yes I normally put all my zip file roms on sd card

Phones only at 10% battery, maybe it won't finish the install with a higher percentage. I'm going to shut it off, let it charge up for about 20 minutes then go for it again.
Anyway to move my files in TWRP from internal to External? Without having to boot back into the stock rom?
If you have a SD card adapter you can put your micro SD card and the adapter and put it into your computer to load the rom zip file on the sd card will actually be easier and yeah your battery percentage on your phone is way too low to install the rom I would say atleast 60 or 70 percent

Tried another install from SD card with a better charged battery. Still the exact same thing.
Going to install the original Tmobile firmware on CoG2, again, then try to reflash with the custom rom.

N910T3UVU1DOG1
I was able to get it booted, by installing Emotion kernel immediately behind the rom, then it was able to boot up. However, I have had problems out of the emotion kernel before and I really didn't want to use this.
The stock COG2 firmware wouldn't work, I guess it was a baseband behind.

Yes unless u install the cog2 baseband but I would stay on dog1. I jus dirty flashed the uvr2.1 and got the same thing that your phone did when it goes to the boot screen and keep restarting itself but after a clean install it was fine. Also how do u wipe your system before flashing rom?

Hello guys, I'm looking for an s7 edge rom which is very close to stock apart from it has been debloated and the warning for loud headphones is gone? Any suggestions? I've debranded my phone but there is still so much google and other garbage on there that I want to get rid of. Maybe something similar to xtresolite as that was what I needed for my s6!?
