Keeps shutting down on rooted soff unlocked Verizon and the unlocked HTC . but works on other phones like Edge and unlocked rooted 6P.
Anyone else?

Why not post this an Adguard thread?
It works on my 10.
It works here
Mine keeps turning off only on HTC 10 both unlocked and vzw and no other brand phones. Strange.

I suppose this is because of battery saver:
https://github.com/AdguardTeam/AdguardForAndroid/issues/536
AG pauses protection when it detects that device is running in "battery saving" mode.
There're two ways of changing this behavior:
1. Turn off "battery optimizations" for Adguard app (settings - battery - tap on menu icon - battery optimization)
2. Turn off automatic pause in Adguard (settings - advanced - low level settings - pref.vpn.disable.pause).

The same issue with auto-pausing? Was there any firmware update to S7 recently?
Yes it auto pauses and is happening on nexus 6p as well. No firmware updates.

Sorry to jump in but can you tell me where you found this, I have gone into settings wifi but cannat see it anywhere
If you have disabled GPS and Bluetooth read the following, if not do so and come back^^
1. Go into battery stats and look out for anomalies
2. let your phone run out of power and shut down by itself, if the drain does not change significantly after that.
3. think about your installed apps. chat apps like skype and facebook are evil battery eating bastards.
4. check out whether your modem fits your region
5. Reflash the kernel

how to know to best modem that feet my region please ? i have have tried many of them i all work fine but how to know the best one ?
I had sort of the same problem as well. I downloaded Android System Info and went in to tasks and killed com.seven.Z7.service, and that made it stop use my data transfer 100% of the time. Worth a shot? I think it's the SGS email client, that has been reported before as well. Weird cause I've got push email, but still...
Its definatly a wifi issue, i thought a full wipe AND and fresh rom flash would clear it - but no luck

Any developers know what could cause wifi to keep scanning when enabled?

ive tried countless different roms and full wipes - ive heard of others having this issue on not only the galaxy s, but the galaxy tab and also HTC phones (a quick google search)
so, is this an android issue?
i refuse to believe that there isnt one developer on this forum, that doesn't know the answer and fix to this problem?

Easy Fix... (For the SGS anyway)
Go to... Menu>Wireless and network>Wi-Fi settings.
Uncheck "Network Notification"
Then tap the menu button (to the left of the home button) and tap "advanced"
Select "Wi Fi sleep policy" and set it to "When screen turns off"
Your battery life will improve drastically. Just drain the battery fully, and give it a full charge.
Let me know if this helps you.
Rom Kitchin build your own rom choose modem and csc .
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=817703
XWJS8_Wipe.zip, version: v9_9_5 ROM, coupled with a hardcore kernel and a jpx modem.
Wi Fi sleep policy" and set it to "When screen turns off"
= 4% battery drain overnight .

It still keeps scanning for networks whilst im connected to my home wifi.
I dont want the wifi to disconnect when my screen goes off, i download and dont want it.switching to my data allowance just because the screeb turned off.

Unchecking Menu>Wireless and network>Wi-Fi settings.>"Network Notification"
You get no scanning for open networks so maybe you stop to scan networks while associated.
I think this is a problem with the modem.bin try to flash other one maybe JPY, JPU or JPM
Can you please check in wi-settings and see if it keeps scanning every 5 seconds when already connected to wifi.
... It may be normal behaviour, but.i doubt it.

I can confirm regular scanning when connected to Wi-Fi. I have never noticed this before. Interesting....
I am getting anywhere from 1 - 2.5 days out of my battery though.

Even though we have finally received the 4.3 update from SONY,
it seems like shipped with some noticeable bugs.
It's better if we can mention the bugs we have encountered after the 4.3 update
1. ) SONY Select
As many people have reported this service is not working in either mobile broadband or wifi connections.
Only a error text is shown as "No network connection. Please try again later"
2.) NFC icon
It suddenly get disapeared while it's already activated by quick settings.
3.) Airplane mode
When the Airplane mode is turned on by power button menu, it cannot be turned off using the same menu since it's disabled.
I had to go to the settings menu and turn it off from there.
4.) Network mode switching
3G networking and LTE network mode switching does not happening correctly in automatically (sometimes).
work arround found :
Had to go to the network settings and disable the mobile data
turn on the airplane mode on and again turn it off
enable the mobile data again then it will correctly jump to LTE network type
5.) Battery bug
Battery suddenly dropped from about 40 % to 8% (without any downloaded applications.)
6.) Overheating
Phone is incredibly overheating while using the HSPA+ or LTE data connection.
with 4.2.2 i didn't had this much of overheating issue.
Please share your findings also :highfive:

1 - No, it is working fine since 2 days ago.
2 - No, this is a customization thing, if you flashed a firmware from a different region it may have been disabled. It is normal, you can re-enable it editing build.prop.
3 - No, it works fine on mine.
4 - No, i don't have this problem.
5 - It happened to me in the first two hours of installing the new firmware, but from 13% to 0% reducing itself in 1% increments every 2 seconds (and it turned itself off), it may be some kind of battery recalibration after installation, it hasn't happened again since then.
6 - I don't feel like it is overheating more than before.
I thing you should do a factory reset. I did it after 4.3 update and the only bugs i have found are:
1 - Progress bar overlaping text while installing applications
2 - Standalone wifi hotspot toggle widget not working (the one in the configurable toggles in notification area works fine)
3 - Bluetooth A2DP music streaming skips a lot in my BMW Car Infotainment system while not charging the phone. It could be some kind of energy saving feature on the bluetooth that it is screwing things up. It worked 10 times better when i was in Android 4.2.2
cheers.

Does video stabilization option works for any one.
For me it doesn't look making any difference
Camera Bug
Tho only bug I noticed is in Camera Addon AR Effects. The Pictures a very dark and there´s no chance to activate LED Flash....
my phone's screen timeout resets back to 15 seconds every once in a while, and wakelock bugs also present
Sometimes SMS received without Notification
I have issues with access to OpenXChange Servers. No new mail can be received.
Just a wakelock bug for me, Suspend_backoff (Android OS) eating battery, it drains like ~5% hourly.

So you reinstalled 4.3 and it didnt fix the problem? Some users said they reinstalled 4.3 (which means complete data loss and having to set my phone from the beginning ) and the problem remains. I dont want to go through a clean istall for nothing.
I also emailed sony for the problem , maybe they will answer me

Hello, my phone is not rooted and I'm looking for ways to lock and unlock without pressing buttons.
What app is the best in terms of battery for these functions?
I use "Gravity Screen On/Off". Let's you turn on the phone by picking it up or waving your hand over the top of the phone. Have mine set to turn phone screen off when I put it in my pocket also. Don't think it uses any more battery then other 3rd party apps and has served me well on all my phone's over the years.

Thanks for the answer! But I was thinking in some double tap to wake u know? Do you recommend any?
I use n7 for my music player... I just noticed that it's 3rd on my battery consumption list?? Even before charging it, when I was down around 50%, it was still #3 on the list but with almost 10% usage. I haven't used my player since Sunday and I've restarted a few times since then. It does show up on the lockscreen from time to time (not sure why that is either)?
FYI: I'm also going to ask this on the n7 G+ board..... Because this may not be a "Samsung" question?
It's still running in the background. Probably auto booting also. Try killing it in processes and see if you can stop it from auto start. Maybe some other app that uses it and runs it in the background? You got some audio editing software on your phone?
Verstuurd vanaf mijn SM-G955F met Tapatalk
Use package disabler and disable it from booting (you'll have to adb sideload extra permissions to get it to work without root) and install greenify, enable auto hibernation so it kills the programs you don't use when you turn the screen off.
You may want to just try greenify first. Also enable aggressive doze function which puts your phone in doze mode minutes instead of hours when your phone isn't in use.

Started with a disabler..... I disabled a bunch of junk, but not all of the bloatware (I like a couple things).
I also found a setting that shows the music widget/info on the lockscreen..... I disabled that, and my music player no longer is eating up battery.
Since I upgraded to the final build of Android Oreo, my phone began to suffer an excessive consumption of battery with respect to nougat. I'm not sure if it's the real cause, but at least in my case it worked. regards!:good:
