I have a new Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge which is using android lollipop 6.0.1 and suffer from the following problems.
Video problem:
I could not watch any video in my device.
got this error “Sorry, cannot play this video."
Gallery video even if it has been recorded by the camera earlier.
Audio problem:
I’m not able to play any music, got this error “couldn't play the track you requested."
When i go to the settings to change the ringtone I am not hearing any sound for all them.
I did not put the phone in silent mode but no sound for any received calls, notifications or SMS.
I tried everything i know to solve this issue, I done all of the following but it does not works:
Clear the cache memory.
Uninstall all the application from the device.
Factory reset.
The phone is not rooted and the lattest update have been installed. Using official Turkey firmware
The only thing work with me is to restart the device but it will not solve the problem permanently, it will happen again after few hours.
Samsung service said that bring it to us so that we would install firmware.
Does it work? If so I can do this by myself.
I would appreciate if any one helps me in this regard.
Sadly, you're not the only one facing this issue, see thread below. I'm afraid there doesn't seem to be a solution to this as it seems to be hardware fault. I had my S7 Edge replaced by O2(UK).
http://forum.xda-developers.com/s7-edge/help/galaxy-s7-edge-gold-sound-t3346881
As I mentioned in my first thread samsung service said to bring it to them so that they would install firmware. If it works I can do it myself. Now downloading it from sammobile. But you say it is a hardware fault. Really? Terrible. What should we do then?
thanks for link. there are many users who faces with same problem. But does it software problem or hardware?

how was the replacement process?
Did they offer you you first for instance?
Did the phone stay there, if yes how long? etc.
For me, it's my carrier O2 who replaced my device, not Samsung. Process was simple, courier collects the old phone, and delivers new one at the same time.

hımm, nice. thanks. I'll see whether my carrier too works or not But hope it will be ok after I install firmware through odin. If not I'll give it to service for replacement.
my phone ofter installing the lattest official Turkey firmware did the same thing. turned off all sounds. Nothing solves this prob only restarting it. What if I install onother country's official firmware? Do this help? or any other solution?
Samsung service says coz you bought your phone turkcell operator you have install its firmware? Is that true?
If this doesn't solve the problem, he says, we may change required parts inside phone. I said how come you do this its a new phone? He said after one month from buying it isnt get changed only reparing.
what should I try to solve this problem?

Hi,
I recently bought my first Android phone in the form of Galaxy Note. However I am so far disappointed with it.
The main reason being that Phone hangs way too often. Earlier I thought it could be due to apps I downloaded from the Android Market. There is no pattern, sometimes it hangs while I am using Market or sometimes when I am browsing Settings menu.
Most of the time when it hangs, I have to remove the battery, put it again and reset the phone. I am really disappointed with my experience. I have already experienced the situation where I could not restart the phone and I had to take the phone to Service center to resolve the issue.
But now even after formatting, Phone does hang intermittently. I am going to take it to the service center but afraid that the issue may not reoccur there and they'll give me some BS reason.
I am not sure if this is a phone problem or Android problem. Does anyone else face the same problem?
P.S. - I have the latest firmware installed on my phone.

Thanks for your reply. Then this must be phone issue. I'll take it to the Samsung service center , let's see what they have to say.
Sounds like a defective phone. Mine doesn't behave like that.

I've had my Note for 2 weeks, never once has it froze.
100% you have a defective phone, take it back to Samsung service/repair centre.
Update - I took my phone to Service Centre and to my luck they too experienced the same freezing issue at boot start up. They have kept the phone for inspection and will let me know tomorrow.
I really hope they gave me replacement for my phone. Will update tomorrow.

Yup its a phone issue. My SGN hasnt had any issues yet. I am also using go launcher & added a couple of mods but not a single freeze in past 1 week.
Touch wiz on SGN is laggy compared to other versions.
These things happen to me when I try overclocking / undervolting too much but not on stock firmware. Looks like a defective device.

Try to flash a new firmware and check the problem again.
What have you installed lately?
When I first installed widgetlocker, I tried to set a 5x5 widget grid and my phone hung constantly. Using default grid works fine
Also. Vibrate notify also caused the note to lock up hard. Any system app that flakes out can lock up your phone.
Try to remove your sd card to test.
Some brands of sd card are not compatible with note.

As I had mentioned this is my 1st Android phone (and expensive one ), so I am not very adventurous with it at the moment.
I had downloaded following apps from Android market.
1. 3G Watchdog
2. Lookout security and Antivirus
3. etc
After my 1st major experience with Screen freeze, I performed hard reset and had performed updates for Flash, Google Maps. That's it. Still I found my phone freezing from time to time. There were no custom ROM or widgets on my phone.

As you guys mentioned, the phone was indeed a defective piece. FML
Service center guys wants to replace the faulty circuit with new circuit, however I am insisting on a new piece.
They say they replace the phone only if customer reports the fault in 4 days from purchasing which is BS policy. Not even a week complete and my phone started giving me trouble and they do no want to replace the phone. Big shame on Samsung for such stupid policies.
I have yet to hear from them as they want to speak to Samsung. Looks like I will have to raise storm to get my phone replaced. Rough ride ahead...wish me luck

I had the same problem with my new Galaxy S4 that I bought on 8 of may in 2013.
In the beginning, the camera work fine, but after several minutes, on each time that I tried to open the camera aplication it had black screen with an error message.
I tried to exit the battery and return it, it didn't help.
I tried to rebot to manufacturer settings, at the first couple of minutes the camera work fine, but later the black screen appear again at each time I open the camera application.
Here is a link to youtube that show the same problem that I had :
Search on youtube "samsung galaxy s4 camera fail"
What can I do ?
I am having the same problem with my s4; tried system update, factory reset... maybe i need to try to flash my firmware. so disappointed with Samsung. a flagship phone shouldn't have this problem!
to be safe, getting it exchanged... i never bought insurance before but it looks like i might need to if i am sticking with the s4.
It's a known problem. Loads of people have it. You'll just have to wait for Samsung to fix it.

From today speaking to a guy who repairs samsungs this is a hardware issue. Reboots and factory resets seem to fix the issue but the root of the problem is the the camera module either not correctly attached/or soldered to the connection so when rebooting or resetting the phone the movement of the device in your hand or laying the phone face up briefly re-connects the module to the device. I'm awaiting my new device as my carrier told me a few people have had this issue also.
Hope that helps

no it dosent.. it just crashes.. with a black screen!
I have taken several pictures with my 2 days old GS4 but in one occasion when I opened the camera and switched from the front camera to the main, the phone froze and reboot it self :/
I hope i only was a one time failure and not hardware or software relate.
Cheers
There are several other topics created for this issue Slow or reboot when opening camera apps and [Q] Galaxy S4 - reboot launching camera from lockscreen
So far, temporary fixes are limiting the background processes to 4 from the developer options in the settings menu and disabling air view options and smart screen options. This has worked for me, I haven't experienced any other reboots but the lag is still present and sometimes when enabling both cameras feature the app would freeze.
I'm not sure whether this is a hardware or a software issue but nevertheless most GS4s experience lag with the camera app, especially those on the octa version, the GT-I9500. I bought the phone internationally, not using a carrier and switching mine will be a pain; therefore i really hope it's a solvable software issue.
This happened to me yesterday. I tried factory resets, going back to stock with Kies, clearing data, but nothing works. I thought it was because of something
I flashed yesterday, but that wasnt it. Sad it happened so quickly and hopefully it can be fixed.

He doesn't work for Samsung he just repairs them independently so he is speaking from experience. But I have since asked another independent business and the toldme the same. My problem has now stopped buti believe could be fixed due to my new case on the phone pushing the camera module slightly in place? Who knows but I am replacing incase it happens again (really don't wanna be lumbered with an s4 with a broken camera)

Were you receiving any warning messages?. As I dug into this problem I've found there are 2 error types. In the 1st scenario the camera would crash and a message would be displayed. The 2nd one, would just turn the screen black after accessing the camera app and after a few seconds the phone would reboot.
If a message is displayed then it's most likely a hardware issue. If the phone restarts without warnings then disabling air gesture options and smart screen options along with disabling a few samsung apps temporary solved the matter, therefore being a software misbehave. It's not a permanent solution but until sammy releases a patch this could be a small fix.

Yup, I have that exact thing. Unfortunately, T-Mobile US doesn't have the S4 as part of their replacement "plan" yet. I'll have to check back later.
Just to let you all know who are curious as to who is experiencing this fault, i have just recieved the dreaded warning. got my phone 3 days ago from carphone warehouse in plymouth uk, unlocked. seems a pretty widespread fault. mass recall????:crying:
yes, if u read around is a hardware problem with limited S5, only fix atm is replace it.
Any info on which models you can get this problem?
I had similar error yesterday untill I rebooted my phone. Thought its problem with ART...

Make sure you not set the phone in save model.
If you use the Go Flash Light App, unload it
If it still not work, you'd better send it to Samsung center for change.
Or you can try to boot the phone.
I had "Warning Camera Failed" problem on my SM-G900SW (S5 in Canada), along with some other weird problems.
After reading an announcement from Samsung that the problem is ROM related download the stack image for my device/provider from Samfirmware and re-flashed the phone.
The problem went away, and so did some other issues.
This is definitely a software issue IMO.
I've read that it only happens to US version of the phone when the user installs another camera app.

To add to this, after I flashed the stock firmware everything was fine for a few days until suddenly I was unable to turn on Bluetooth. So the camera still worked, but bluetooth stopped working.
I took the phone back to the store, showed them the problem and exchanged. In the process of exchanging it I did a factory reset to remove personal data. When the reset was done, I turned it on to make sure my accounts were gone, and lo and behold the camera and bluetooth worked again.
I still went through with the exchange since this does seem like a problem related to the storage memory becoming corrupted after a bit of use.
I've had the new one for 3 days, and so far no problems.

Hello everyone,
When I try to answer a call the ringtone volume will spike for a very short of time. The spike will make the volume peak at it highest. Anyone has this problem?
very annoying

I've bought the note 4 just 5 days ago and I've just recently noticed this particular sound issue too. I'm wondering if it's just a software bug... It's so weird that just you and me are having this issue that I'm really thinking that it could be a hardware issue...

I would love to have answer as well, but i'm in the same boat. However, I tried to set the same ringtone as an alarm with max volume and when i try to stop/snooze it doesn't do that. I even tried the MOD that is on the app section which change the volume on the note 4. It did increase my speaker volume but i didn't do anything in fixing the issue. I also tried to install an app called "Disable Increasing Ring" which remove the low volume on the first ring but it didn't help either.
I tried to post this on another forum looking for help and one guy said "Check the setting that maximizes the volume on ringing." I don't know what does that mean.

I tried the "Disable Increasing Ring" app too, because I initially tought that it was a bug of the increasing ringtone feature that is present since Android v.4.3... But it didn't work. I've also flashed another rom and the issue persisted.
I don't know... What drives me crazy is that some people have this problem but the majority just don't! Of it is a firmware problem, it should happen with everyone that has the same rom...
I'm also worried because this spike in the ringtone volume may damage the loudspeaker through time...
To be honest, I'm just about to return my phone!!!

I've tried 02 official stock roms: ZTO (Brazil - International Unlocked) and ZTA (Brazil - Claro Branded).
I did the Factory Reset and wiped the Cache Patition using the Stock Recovery, and then flashed these roms using Odin 3.09
Then I started the phone, didn't logged in my google account nor in my samsung account, and so I did'd download nor intalled any app. I didn't make any changes on the phone's configuration menu.
Then, with the phone like this, I've called myself using my girlfriend's phone and, unfortunately, when I swiped to answer the call the damn sound bug was still present!!!
Since I know many other users that run these roms and don't have this problem, I'm assuming that it's a hardware issue particular to my note 4 unit.
So I have no other choice: I'll return my phone as soon as possible!

Why not??? The point is that people running the same Samsung rom that I have simply don't have this problem. The fact is that every note 4 unit should be able to run a stock rom and not present this particular bug. I mean, it must be a hardware issue because my method excluded all the particular changes in the sistem that could be caused by apps or some configuration options... So, after excluding all those factors, if two identical models are running the same identical roms, the only reason that one unit has a bug and the other don't is that they aren't really identical, i.e. because one of them has a hardware problem/difference.
The other point is that if I want to use my warranty rights, I must not have root access nor use a custom rom, because I don't wat to trigger my flash counter or my knox counter...
So it makes absolutely no sense that I must loose my warranty and use a coustom rom to get rid of a problem that doesn't even exists in the vast majority of note 4 units that are able to run the stock rom without presenting this issue.

I feel like people have this problem but they don't pay attention to it as much as we do. But let me know please how it goes with you. If a replacement worked with you or not.
Thanks
Well, it bother me, but I believe Samsung will fix it. Let wait for lollipop update.

We're already using this app, but it didn't solve our problem.
Same issue on a SM-N910C in Bulgaria. Phone taken from operator Telenor. I hope that there is a solution.

Hey guys, fb messenger causes such problems.
Just disable it and you'll be fine.

My phone just updated to android pie and now my camera and YouTube app freezes occasionally. The only way to get them working again is to keep restarting the phone. Anyone have any fixes? Thanks!
Turning off wifi calling seems to have helped a little.
Same here.
This update is an absolute ****show: The notification bar breaks, YouTube too, SnapChat too. I have to reboot twice a day.
Anyone tried a factory reset and had improvements ?
I have done a factory reset and still no improvements. I've called samsung tech and I got the runaround.
I have a SM-G892A with a Cricket sim card running Android 8.0.0 and came here looking for a way to update it but if there are problems it may be best that I don't update yet. Unfortunately there does not seem to be much info for the S8 Active on these forums. I'll just have to keep my eye on here.
I wouldn't update. My phone worked flawlessly on android 8. I wish I could go back.
A new update is out ! It's stable so far.

Unlocked Sprint ! But the problems came back 3 days later
Samsung, shame on you, the S8 Active is your best hardware, but certainly has the worst software I've seen in a phone in a long time.
