I have a uk tablet on O2. I did not get any notifications but when i plugged my tablet into my PC, i was prompted to update. Very unusual as O2 UK was always lagging on updates.

Z4T from Malaysia, rolling out Marshmallow early morning 10 March. Upgrading now.
I'm noticing speed increase here and there, and the tablet wakes up from sleep faster when I tap a key on the BKB50 keyboard
True. Its fast. And snappier. Battery seems to be doing better.
How about the touch sensitivity issue? Is it still there?

So far so good. def alot faster now.. even my connection went up..
Tablet bought in Germany but not used there, just got the 1.4 Gb MM update. (see you free space on internal memory before upgrading).
I have notice incredible speed after update but to be fair already there were alot of lag with the tablet (probably something I had installed ...). Apps now, start almost instant like it should on such specifications.
Can't say about battery yet but it seems the settings for saving went away and you could not activate saving other than at 5, 10 or 15 % battery.
A new setting on audio has appear DSEE HX, something that try to upgrade normal mp3 to HD sound quality. Activating this will deactivate ClearAudio+, dynamic normaliser ...) I didnt test it because I use flac uncompressed
Phone has change layout (subject to each person taste) and if you recorded an answer response on your answering machine you will lose it after upgrade (but you don't lose previous recorded messages)
I can confirm that wake up from power but mostly from keyboard (any key) is instant. After some time of inactivity it wakes slower but at practical interval to use (compared with before).
I love to set individual permissions since I have uninstall some apps because of "too generous" permission list.
Camera app: amazing UI upgrade. Where it was so cumbersome to use now is amazing easy to switch. Swipe up anywhere on the screen, can't comment on picture quality as I did;t test it.
I have also noticed less finger prints on the screen and less glare since the update! Amazing job SONY!
... just joking
Hi all,
Just updated my Z4 tablet (Generic Central Europe CE1) and as soon as I launched it for the first time, I encountered few issues. First of all, my SanDisk 128GB card initialized as corrupted. Gave it a try dismounting and mounting again a couple of times no luck and eventually ended up backing up the data on my netbook and reformatting it using the tablet running the Marshmallow. So far so good. Second and the most important of all, I experienced Google Play Store FCs and it still persists. Have been playing with it all day long trying almost everything: clearing both Google Play Services and Google Play Store as well as Google Framework cache, data and uninstalling all their updates rebooting the machine after each step still no luck. Removed my Google account and relogged again, didn't work. Also tried installing the latest version for both the Store and the Services still nothing. I literally have no clue now and am left with no idea at all what is going on?! I recall similar issue with my Z1 the other day but simply updating the Google Services solved the whole drama in an instant. I would be grateful if anyone could help me out with this neverending story.
Thanks in advance,
Jack

I'm on Customized SG R5C and it's running great. It has the usual bloatware but I've uninstalled it.
I got my tablet off Amazon UK and i'm still waiting for the update, same goes for my Z5. SI is 1294-9064 for Z4 tablet and 1298-2610 for Z5 phone.

Anyone facing bugs in 6.0 on the tablet? My exchange pushmail was working in 5.0.2 but after 6.0, it doesn't connect to the server anymore. deleting and recreating and even nine mail or mailwise couldn't connect to the server. I initially thought it was the server that didn't support 6.0 so i borrowed another brand phone with 6.0 to test and it worked so it's due to Sony's version of the 6.0..

Yes, I faced a bug with my L2TP/PSK VPN-connection. This wouldn't work on 5.0.2 and it didn't work on 6.0 either. It's apparently a known issue on Xperia's, even the Z5 has it on MM.
Luckily, I was able to fix it by selecting Advanced Settings > Backward compatible mode: Enabled.
I'm New to the forums here everyone.
Greetings!
I'm running NRD90U but I'm experiencing some issues with the recent radio update that came with nougat on Verizon. I've searched everywhere on the xda forums and found suggestions to others experiencing similar issues (simultaneous voice and data). With the 03.61 radio, everything worked just fine whereas with 03.72 I have to toggle airplane mode after every reboot in order to have simultaneous voice and data. I have performed all of the suggested things to no avail. HD voice is enabled on my line and I've tried taking it off and putting it back on. Enhanced LTE is set to on and I've toggled that. I've factory data reset. I've wiped cache. I've Tested SIM in another Verizon device and it works fine. I've Put another Verizon SIM in my device and still have the issue. I even gotten a new replacement device. I've sideloaded OTAs. I've flashed factory images. I've literally tried everything suggested here.
All said, I'm wondering if it's possible to flash the older 03.61 radio while keeping everything otherwise the same on my phone with stock Nougat-NRD90U.
I would appreciate input.
Thanks.

If you are bootloader unlocked, you can fastboot flash any radio.img you want. If you are not bootloader unlocked, no you can't. The radio.img is universal btw, not specific to a carrier.
Edit: the guide below will help you unlock the bootloader and learn fastboot if you are unfamiliar.

Thanks. I will do that. I appreciate the help.
Is this a problem for other Verizon users too? If so, I just won't upgrade the radio firmware on mine either.
I would highly suspect that the problem is for everybody on Verizon especially since I replaced my device and did all this SIM card changes and things. It is very unnoticeable in that the only time you experience it or see it is if you are making a call on the new nougat radio 03.72, you will see the LTE icon disappear as soon as you make your call, regardless of whether you are on an 'HD call' or not. If you are on the older radio 03.61 that is on marshmallow, then you never experience that problem, ever, ever. Everything is perfect with that "radio." I've done a lot of testing on it, as I said, up to replacing my device, all to no avail. unless using 03.61 which is again, perfect. I wouldn't change if you can avoid it. If you do get the nougat radio though (03.72), it's a nuisance because after the majority of reboots overall, you will come up with everything normal-'looking' with the LTE icon there but when trying to make a call it will disappear and you'll have an exclamation point there until you hang up from the call and LTE comes right back. (unless you're on wifi off course in which case none of this apples). The solution if you find yourself with the 03.72 nougat radio with this happening, is to toggle airplane mode and then you're good to go until the next time you have to reboot. I always check afterwards by calling voicemail to make sure the LTE icon stays while on the call. It will disappear immediately.
I'm going to assume there is some sort of an "initial-boot-handshake" that's not taking place correctly, but DOES communicate correctly coming out of airplane mode when the device is already booted.
Regards
Edit: This may be a regional VZW issue and not a phone or baseband issue.
Verizon has had issues where I live for more than a week.
I live in Northern Ca and they just sorted things out.
Funny, I flashed the Nougat radio on top of 6.x to see if my issue was fixed.
It's not the radio. Mine is finally stable. Not sure what VZW did.
tech_head
Everything was working fine on mine with the marshmallow radio. I didn't have an issue until I updated to nougat.
Hearing what happened with yours makes me think that it's a regional Verizon thing. Hopefully they will fix soon. I'm not holding my breath because it's been about a month here in Central Kentucky
I'm glad yours is working now man.
Cheers!
I'm having a similar problem for the last couple days after flashing the latest update. I may try stepping back to the older radio to see if that fixes my problem. I just hope it doesn't affect my bluetooth, as that's finally working fine again.

Best of luck. Let us know how it goes if you get the chance. Thanks!
Holy crap, I thought it was just me! I did the exact same things (minus an RMA) as the OP to fix the issue with no luck, even downgrading to MTC20F and upgrading to MTC20L and finally Nougat, just to make sure something wasn't getting jacked in the flashing process. I spent an hour on the phone last night w/ a tier 2 tech guys from Verizon and the only issue he could see was that my PRL had an update for my SIM which should happen automatically. He pushed it through from their end but it didn't fix the issue. Normally I don't care about browsing/downloading when I'm on the phone since I hate talking on the phone and get off as soon as possible but it causes another problem which is not acceptable: if I am browsing chrome or doing anything with data, incoming calls go straight to voicemail. Tried switching the phone from "global" to "LTE/CDMA" with no luck-a reboot always kills simultaneous voice and data. I can rule out this being a Verizon issue on my end as when I flashed the MM images to update via OTA this morning, all worked perfectly fine.
Edit: I have called multiple people in my area that are on VZW after having them reboot their phones and all of them maintained simultaneous voice and data. I think it is safe to state that this issue is software/device specific.

I have done and agree with what you said - other devices(non NEXUS 6p) work fine and 6p works fine on marshmallow. However, tech_head posted above that his I'd all good now and that it was a Verizon issue. I'm not sure where you live but based on tech_head's post, I can't rule out VZW as the problem. One thing is for sure it is an issue here in Central Kentucky on the two NEXUS 6ps that I have had and tried EVERYTHING, like you, on both of them to no avail without marshmallow radio. I haven't tried flashing marshmallow radio on top of nougat. I may just wait and see if VZW or Google work something out to fix it soon with a possible update. Not holding my breath but I believe it will eventually get fixed in the future, OFFICIALLY.
Thanks man.
I appreciate your input.

As mentioned earlier in the thread, the radio is independent of the OS version, so why not take 1 or 2 minutes and flash an earlier radio? There is a radio / modem repository thread on XDA with all versions you can just grab and try out. Literally takes less than a minute and if you don't like the results, then just flash it right back. I use Fastboot, but TWRP, FF, NRT, etc. all work equally well. You may also post what you find under "Phone Settings" when typing " *#*#4636#*#* " into the dialer. Report back on your findings.
Here are the screenshot links for my phone settings.
Thanks

No problem bud! I haven't flashed another radio yet either. I will report back after I test a few more things.
Has anyone determined the cause of the problem? Was it the radio firmware after all? There seem to be conflicting answers here.

It is still kind of up in the air. What I do know is that there is a software incompatibility somewhere within nougat here in Lexington, KY, at least. I assume it's the radio software but I'm not certain. I'm not bootloader unlocked at this point so I haven't yet tried to flash marshmallow radio on to stock nougat. I will probably try this in a few days when I have the time to deal with the factory reset it involves. Please refer back to the original post for questions about my reasoning.
It's quite interesting, the problem, as everything with stock nougat - voice and data-wise, works just like marshmallow after I toggle airplane mode after reboot. With marshmallow, it just worked. Very weird. But given I can just toggle airplane mode 1 time for every time I boot, it's just a slight nuisance. Once I toggle airplane mode, everything is good just like marshmallow, as if nothing was ever wrong. It could be something about the boot sequence. It's very interesting. I'm open to ideas at this point.
Thanks.
My 2¢
When i was on 6.0.1 didn't have and issue with radio. i flashed the 7.0 radio while still on 6.0.1, still no issues.
Then i flashed 7.0 OS and that's when the issue started and it was only affecting upload speed download was great. Then i flashed the last radio from 6.0.1 and the issue went away.
P.S.
the data going off during a call is VZW. i had to call to have them fix this even before 7.0 they dont like the fact that we are using a non vzw branded cell.
I'm back on 6.0.1, never signed on to be a beta tester for 7.0?. These days its about profit and quantity and the hell with quality

I appreciate your input. It doesn't sound like our issues are quite the same. I'm not sure though.
What is it that Verizon did for you. That may be the answer to my problems.

Hello folks, new to the forum here. My wife and I both recently got Galaxy S7s from Sams, and our carrier is AT&T. For whatever reason, the push updates never happen on my phone, so I am still in 6.0.1, but my wife's has gotten 7.0 pushed to hers. Problem is that after a while (perhaps a couple of days), her phone starts to develop a persistent lag, where she can't really do anything at all, like typing or changing apps, so severe is the lag. The phone was basically useless at that point, so she would have to restart the phone to restore its normal function. But the lag would always return, and she would need restart multiple times per day.
Talking to Samsung and AT&T proved fruitless at getting any troubleshooting done other than factory resetting the phone. That of course fixed the problem, but as soon as the 7.0 push update happened, the lag came back. We eventually got AT&T to send us a new phone on warranty. But just recently her phone got 7.0 pushed and sure enough the lag is back. Clearly the problem is software related, as my phone is still 6.0.1 and runs perfectly.
I am pretty uninitiated in the Android world, and so I was hoping you folks might be able to help us restore her phone, as I am certain we will get no useful help through the "official" channels. We aren't looking to root or anything, but if there is troubleshooting or a guide we could walk through, we would sure appreciate the help.
Thanks!
I had the same problem when my S7 did the update from 6.0.1 to Android 7. I asked AT&T to change the phone and they did. When the new phone did the update the lag problems started again. I downgrade to stock 6.0.1 and disable the update service with Package Disabler. Now I keep on android 6.0.1 (which I like more than the Nougat) and I do not have lag problems.
You could try to flash the Nougat update manually. It's not exactly simple, but a fair amount of reading up on it should prepare you. Obviously you'll lose all personal data, and there's even a chance it might still be laggy for you. There is a guide on how to do this on droidviews.com that helped me tremendously. Make sure that if you try this, you plug in the phone only after it is in download mode and only after Odin is open. Plus you'll need the drivers and to make sure the phone is in USB Debugging mode via developer options, as well as turn on OEM unlock before you try this. Good luck!
Hi! I recently updated my Blackshark 2 and after the update, an old problem I had came back.
My connections keep fluctuating. I'll be using the internet on my phone for apps and then my mobile networks and wifi suddenly disconnects and reconnects after a few seconds. It's really frustrating since it keeps disconnecting me from internet-intensive apps.
Any ideas on how to fix this? It's honestly driving me nuts.
Factory reset should fix that.

Unfortunately it didn't work. I've noticed I'm getting notifications before I get disconnected. My phone keeps trying to activate my sim cards even though they're already activated.

Ok, so you probably then used some beta build of JoyUi12 or something that is not yet officially published or it is not for your device eg. you had global and flashed chinese build or other way around. Go back to build that worked and wait for official release.

Ok, sorry for wrong assumption. I just try to help as best as i can.
Usually problems that you have are coming from software because after update some old stuff from previous version stick around and have conflict with new stuff so factory reset should fix that. In your case that did not worked so maybe it is a hardware problem.

I apologize for the hostile tone, it was not my intention at all. You have been very helpful and I've greatly appreciated the effort. I'll try doing some more random stuff. This has happened before about half a month ago but it went away. Now that it's back its even worse than before so i can't just ignore it as I had in the past.
Again, thanks for the input. You've really been a great help.
Hi all,
Just like to check as i am at a loss on what to do. I got my Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 10.4" SM-T500 last month. Generally it was ok except that samsung browser will hang when the tablet goes into deep sleep and it will take mins for it to 'catch up' meaning i cannot turn off the tablet or launch applications during that time. Youtube app sometimes will sometimes randomly close.
However in early dec, after a samsung software update, games and some apps started flashing black for 5 seconds and perhaps about 2 seconds of the app /game screen shown. It has not gone into sleep or anything as if the game / app appears on the screen you can still click on items and all. Restarting the tablet or factory reset did not help. Youtube app will still randomly close.
Already sent in to samsung service centre and they tell me they have reflashed the latest firmware.. however above problems remain. I asked customer support and they told me that at this point to wait for a new samsung update or app update which may solve the following issue. but thats going to take a while before an update comes from their tablet
Wonder is there anything i can do ?
Thank you.

This is happening to me since the latest update as well.
I wouldn't stress about too much. Updates have been coming pretty regular so just wait for an update. They've updated the tablet about 3 times since I bought it so I feel they'll have this fixed soon.
Nothing I've done fixed it so I'm just waiting for an update.

Hi all,
Just like to check as i am at a loss on what to do.
Thank you.

Do you have auto rotate on? It seems turning it off stopped the black screen for me. Give it a try until it's fixed with an update.
Thanks Halftebyte.
Tested to turn off the auto rotate but didnt help. There is a new Samsung update but seems it didnt do anything to help. i will try the factory reset later again

Yes, I thought that solved it but you're right, turning off auto rotate didn't actually help.
I haven't gotten any new updates since version T500XXU2ATK3.
What version are you on?
I'm pretty confident a factory reset won't solve this problem. I'm happy I'm not the only one experiencing this. Hopefully an update will fix it soon.
My version is now T500XXS2ATL1, security patch level is 1 December 2020
You are right, the factory reset didnt do anything at all. It made it worst!! even at the home screen it will just keep flashing. I gave up and went back to the service centre and told them to do something as i could not work on it. They changed the motherboard and it seems ok for now. Stil testing it but problem seems to have gone away.
Suggest if yours is under warranty to do the same too!

Oh wow. I hope mine isn't a hardware issue.

Any update on your experience?
Just wanted to update that I solved this problem for myself by downgrading to firmware version T500XXU2ATJ6 which had a November 2020 build/release date (with Sept 2020 security patch unfortunately). I'm happy now though. Confirmed fully working after using for over a week.
Hmm after the hardware change, the tablet works as it should. I am still on the T500XXS2ATL1 firmware.
Interesting. Someone else on the Samsung forums had a similar issue and firmware downgrade solved his issue.
When a firmware newer than ATL1 comes out I'll try it.
Also, doubt this tablet will get Android 11 before May/June.
hmm wondering if there is anything different in our tablets (mobo chips /memory / etc) which made it behave so drastically with this firmeware update. And with a hardware change it seems to work better? hmmm wondering wondering.
I still have one small issue where every now and then unlocking the screen you may not be able to access any icons, i will need to lock the screen again and drag on camera/browser before i am able to use the tablet. This happened out of the box as well but didnt think much of it then.

That's exactly what I'm wondering. Some minor component difference on the mobo having compatibility issues with the different firmwares.
Kinda sounds like a touchscreen issue you're having. Hopefully it won't get unbearably bad for you.
