Hi, I'm trying to use "adb backup" to backup my s7 edge, but it doesn't show the dialog to confirm it. What are you using to backup app data without root?
Thanks

Helium Backup.
Available on play store, ability to backup/restore apps and data without root
Related
Basically, I backed up all of my apps + data from my old phone and moved the backup folder to my new phone.
When I want to batch restore the app and data they fail. When I click on an individual app (that is obviously recognized), it has no option to 'restore'. However, if I install the app via the play store, Titanium Backup let's me restore the data. Which leads me to believe there is an issue sideloading the app itself. I do have the Security > Unknown Sources checked.
Has anyone had this issue or knows how to resolve?
I haven't used tibu to restore apps and data in quite some time so I'm afraid I don't have any suggestions. Buts probably just because your trying restore data from your old phone without installing the app first :-/

Try "Go Backup & Restore" it does not require root. Here is the link:

Good luck!
Sorry my friend but this backup app is as all the backup app's except helium.
NEED ROOT TO BACKUP SETTINGS/DATA OF EACH APP so it's completely USELESS for me.
It is good to know what app you suggest to anyone based on what it asked.
Guys,
What's the best way to backup everything on my S4 to my new S4.
I can't use Kies as it won't restore apps to the new phone and I don't have have ROOT so now Titanium Backup
Cheers
App Backup & Restore OR G-Data Cloud Back are your best options.
I am using Helium - App Sync and Backup. No need to be rooted
thanks guys
If rooted, Titanium Backup is a good option which backup apps to the core
an
I usually stick with Titanium Backup
Does it work without root?

I'm buying a S7 edge but obviously there isn't a root yet. I have all my apps and data backed up with Titanium Backup, but is there a way to get that onto the new phone without root?
Will google restore my apps and personal data if I add/remove my account and this time select backup my account?
EDIT: google restore didn't work, and I also tried Smart Switch. Since my phone wasn't supported for direct communications, I exported to a SD card and tried to restore from it. Turns out it just installed the apps, not the app data.
You can't restore app data without root. Google will restore apps and some system settings.

Hi,
For a non-rooted device, which backup application should I use? I would like to have a backup of my applications and its their data.
I couldn't get Helium to work because of the desktop password error.
Anymore suggestions?

If you decide to root your phone use Titanium Backup which is at the playstore..
If you don't want to root than use "My Backup" (free playstore app)
After using My Backup if you want the paid version you can get that at
the playstore too. Here is the link for the free version of My Backup:

Good luck,
Have a great day!

Hi, My Backup needs root to backup data. I don't want to root my SGS7E just yet.

The only app that can backup data from a non-rooted phone is Helium backup, IF you can get it to work. I haven't been able to get it to work reliably on the GS7 Edge. In fact, I only got it to work once, and have had no success at all, since.

Sorry, I thought you simply wanted to backup all your apps.
I really doubt there are any backup apps which backup data without root,
although I have been known to be wrong a couple times in the past. lol
Good luck,
Have a great day!
