what is the best Rom to use as DD? just want something with great battery
Stock 6.0.1 with franken and xposed.
Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think there is stock 6.0.1 for XT1575 yet. Stock is pretty good but I find the MMS and Bluetooth updates in 6.0.1 essential.

Not wrong but it works just fine.

I second ^this^. Stock debloated with xposed and my kernel is my DD. No issues. I also get rid of a lot of Google apps and use AOSP email, MMS, etc. Pretty dynamic.

So I stayed away from Lollipop due to silent mode being gone. Finally updated and sure enough hate the sounds modes. I saw there was an exposed module to bring back KitKat silent mode.
Been doing tons of research on this forum and other websites and can't find a clear answer. Does exposed work on the Verizon S5 on Lollipop?
Some sites say at first it didn't but it was then updated..then other sites say even the update won't work on touchwiz ROMS? Idk if that just means stock VZW ROMS or even custom touchwiz ROMS?? Very confusing
If anyone knows please let me know. Also if it WILL work are there instructions for this phone specifically. Any Xposed instructions I find mention booting to a customer recovery...and then I remembered hearing that safestrap doesn't work on Lollipop so idk

I've done many clean install of kitkat previously.. Every time I switch roms so I know my phone is always running the best it can. Did the same when installing lollipop last night..full charge over night and man is this battery life bad compared to kit kat..didn't use my phone much this morning and just used it for an hour or so now and I'm at 60%

Xposed afaik currently unofficially works with certain deodexed touchwiz roms
i'm using this version of xposed and it works fine. You do need to use FlashFire to flash the zip though give it a try just install the app then flash the zip.

Yes. Samsung has done some of their own tinkering with ART on lollipop which makes Xposed cause a bootloop. The unofficial version only works on Deodexed versions.
@aholeinthewor1d
If you want to use Xposed on TW Lollipop, you can use this ROM. Then you can go here to install Xposed.
Also, Safestrap DOES work on Lollipop, you just have to use a KitKat kernel to access it. This app/thread makes accessing Safestrap on Lollipop extremely easy. No need for a computer.
What do you guys think is the most stable / best firmware out there? I have seen all sorts of people use COD6 / DOK2 / NK4... etc.
Is there one thats better than the others? I think the DOK2 is the most up to date AFAIK.

I'm still on kit Kat because all of the Xposed modules work. I didn't see a big benefit to moving to lollipop. Also once you go to 5.1.1 you are stick with the lollipop bootloader.

ANK4

I used to be on ANK4 but I switched to DOK2. It seems I am having more gps issues with DOK2 than what I did ANK4. Its just too bad I am at work currently or else I would flash back.
If you've gone to 5.1.1 then you have to stick to either that or 5.0.1 because they lock the bootloader to lollipop.

I stayed with NK4 as well. I've learned that most times updating isn't the best way to go. I always wait to see how things go. As for what I have seen, the NK4 (KK 4.4.4) is still the best with battery life. What I've been doing is playing CM 12.1 (nightly 10-01-15) while still on the NK4 and all works flawlessly.
I've stayed on FireKat now on v22. The battery is outstanding and it keeps the original touchwiz which I like. Thankfully we have options

looks like I am stuck on dok2
I saw that there was a update being pushed for my phone and its marshmallow 6.0.1. I currently have my phone rooted+bootloader unlocked and custom rom trupurexmm 2.4 installed, will I be able to receive this update automatically? Or do I have to undo all this stuff I did to my phone? What are the improvements with 6.0.1?

You definitely can't take the OTA, or it won't succeed anyway, with a custom ROM/recovery. You would have to go back to stock. As far as improvement or changes, I don't know.
Are you sure it's 6.0.1? How do you know that?can't find anything regarding 6.0.1

CyanogenMod is on 6.0.1 I believe. Not a whole lot of info on it that I could find, but I do know that you should NOT take that OTA if you're rooted, etc... Just wait for TruPureXMM to be updated and include it if it doesn't already.

I have Galaxy tab A (SM-T355) 8' 16 GB with rooted stock rom (touchwiz Android 6.0). I want to flash xposed framework. Obviously I installed an unofficial xposed on XDA used for rooted stock touchwiz.
I flashed that and my tablet ended up bootlooping to recovery. Tried to use the nanobackup and it didint work, wiped out the whole system and restored back and still didnt work.
I had no choice but to restore stock firmware and re-root the device.
Is there any framework that wont cause bootloops and support this device? Or prehaps do I need to modify my system?
Thanks.

Did you use arter97's xposed? https://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/unofficial-xposed-samsung-lollipop-t3113463 I believe there is another framework for touchwiz as well.

Thanks for the response, while it does seem i interesting the only problem is that it support android LL and mine runs MM. So I will still have to look around a bit more.

Have you tried wanam's framework as well? https://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/unofficial-xposed-samsung-lollipop-t3180960
Supports marshmallow, and it works on my galaxy a8 2015.

I bought a new (but used) g6 with android oreo.
I tried it for 2 days before installing the fulmics rom.
the stock oreo camera had a functionality to read the qr codes and to be able to reorder the various camera modes and other improvements I'm not going to list.
is it possible to have it on android 7 with the fulmics rom?
No, unless someone makes a port, which is hardly going to happen becauseno dev is using Fulmics nowadays.
Install Oreo, and you can have some tweaks using gravitybox with caution, cause it's only made for stock android

Thanks blackhawk,
with a oreo stock rom can i flash magisk?
I'm only interested in magisk with xposed and lowering the navbar to 28dp.
i dont really need the fulmics tweaks.
maybe the fulmics camera is a port of the v30?
there is no android 7 stock camera to flash?

I don't know if there's a stock nougat camera to flash.
You can flash magisk to stock oreo, or flash the prerooted 20c rom available. It's what I'm using and works perfectly.
And with xposed you canlower navbar dpi. I'm using a few tweaks from gravitybox and they don't seem to conflict with the rom
