Still not a lollipop update.
Even lollipop is so old with the new android N news everywhere. This update fixes stagefright issue. At least,we got the newest security patch.

I am very glad that Motorola and Verizon are giving some attention to our 'old fella' now. While it is sad that they did not give us L or M, at least they released the security update.
Kitkat is perfect for me.
I bought a X Play (Droid Maxx 2), it even performs worse than the Droid Maxx.

Motorola said in February there would be no LP update.
http://www.techtimes.com/articles/1...unts-for-droid-turbo-2-and-maxx-2-instead.htm
And only 6 days to qualify for the $100 discount on a Turbo2 or Maxx2. (Mini users are SOL. No new options for a smaller device)
Took the update. Still rooted and everything works fine.
For those that went that route, Entitlement Bypass Apk still works as usual too.
But remember to restore the original recovery, instead of twrp.

where can i download this firmware on pc as a backup
So it's clear this was a update to there stagefright security patch that apparently took no affect in the SU6-7.3 update. Well I tested my bootloader unlock exploit and was unsuccessful. My kernel would not load and modules as expected. The Trustzone module wasnt loaded to the kernel so the SMC(Secure Monitor Call) couldn't be sent to the Secure world to Rewrite the DWord values. I think my kernel module needs to be recompiled and tested. If anyone is willing to risk a droid Ultra/Maxx/Mini on this bootloader exploit please DM me and I'll send you the details! Cheers! Can i downgrade to su6-7 after taking this update? I want to root this phone and on another maxx i could downgrade from su6-7.3 to su6-7. Has anyone tried doing this?
There are many critical vulnerabilities patched by Google in the June update.

Ok, you're right of course, but I though since it's *.10, it's rootable. Sorry for the confusion. However, obviously the kernel got updated without a system update. It's now the very same kernel as in the *.15 firmware. How is that possible?

motorola can push/install updates without users consent/action, just pushing the kernel uses very little bandwith, and user may not even notice.

There was a bug-fix release for .10, before .15 came out. It was discussed a little bit and IIRC, it was a soak, not a full OTA.

I don't care about the Stagefright fix since the SMS app I use has had it for some time. I would like to get the night mode for my camera though. Hopefully, it will roll out here eventually.

Stagefright affects more than just SMS. That is just to most well known way to exploit it. And many third party apps that fixed stagefright on their end do not include the second fix that Google recently pushed.
Build no? I'm on XT 1550 with LP123.72-47, and don't see any updates.(purchased last week from flipkart, factory installed build)

My Moto G3 is in this state. The bootloader is unlocked, I have updated via OTA and now it turns black after 2~3 seconds of the start of boot animation. Now I'm trying to download and install a stock ROM. Thanks, Motorola.

You can't blame Motorola for that, it is your fault for unlocking the bootloader. That is why they warn against it and you should always have a backup to flash before doing so.
Yes, I can't. But it doesn't hurt to explain better the reasons for their advise against the mods. As I understood, the problem was with TWRP recovery. If I knew about this before, I would simply had flashed the original recovery before allowing the OTA update.
Now I'm finally with my phone back to business

below is the changelog:
http://www.att.com/esupport/article.html#!/wireless/KB425950
Upgrade Device Software for the Motorola Nexus 6 (XT1103)
Instructions :
Update summary
Effective January 13, 2016 Motorola / Google released an Android (6.0.1) update for the Nexus 6 (XT1103) via a rolling Google Over the Air (GOTA) download. A Wi-Fi connection is not required.
What's changing?
OS upgrade to Android 6.0 Marshmallow
https://www.android.com/versions/marshmallow-6-0/
Performance Improvements
What to expect after the update
Although there should be no impacts to settings or data, we recommend that you back up your media files to a PC or using a favorite application (from the Play Store), prior to upgrading the software.
How to update
Google will use a "slow roll" GOTA campaign that starts with 5% of the ELIGIBLE users on day one and ramps up availability to 100% by the end of the first week.
If a user checks for the update via settings before their device is eligible for the rolling GOTA campaign they will see the message that indicates the device software is currently up to date. Users cannot pull the update via Settings.
Once eligible and in Wi-Fi coverage, the download will take place automatically and the user will then prompted to install the update.
Upon receipt of the GOTA notification the customer should:
Ensure the device is sufficiently charged
Connect to Wi-Fi
Select "Install"
How to verify the update
Select Settings from application tray or pull down menu.
Select the More box in the top right corner
Select About Device.
The following information displays:
Software Version: MMB29K
Upgrade file size: 755MB

No sweat. Since I happened to be at my computer I was able to pull it. Link is in my other post.
started the upgrade and the stupid att intro screen tone is still ear shattering loud. how could they not fix that???
stuck on optimizing apps for the time being.
It's about time they did it. They literally skipped the entire 6.0 update. Felt sorry for att users lol.
My phone had been running fine but felt sluggish at times. This feels so much snappier. Not sure if it is the cache flush or the upgrade.... Or both. Either way it feels nice. Curious how the battery life is after a full day running it.
Anyone getting another OTA for MMB29S after receiving MMB29K?

Would have to be a flashable zip to use with TWRP and that isn't.
Does this have the Dec or Jan security update? I have an unlocked Google version on AT&T. I was able to get the 6.0.1 and Dec security update before installing my ATT sim. No updates since even if I remove the SIM and stay on Wifi. Don't understand why I can't pull the Jan security update since I thought Google pushed those. I have a friend on 5X on ATT that has received it.
Only December update.
Good news is you can sideload the January update however!
Just received 315.93 meg OTA (maybe this will fix the crashes)...oh well ,its listed as a security update. Brings the security to April 2 2016

Thanks for the heads up. It looks like the PD1 ota includes a new modem and kernel also. I'm gonna pull the ota zip and take a look inside and see what I can do with this. I'm pretty sure these new security patches can't be used to update custom roms due to the ota using scripts which patch a multitude of system apps, etc in the rom. So the only way to make use of this update before an official tar is released would be to unroot and install the ota then dump the rom and use that to update custom mm roms. I would mostly be interested in the new kernel & modem to be honest.

It's never a good idea to flash a framework jar from a previous software version. that file is responsible for a multitude of things throughout the rom. It's almost guaranteed to have new and/or changed classes that can cause problems in the latest software. so if you notice any issue in the future this should be the first thing to suspect.
Thanks for the confirmation of root working.
Any benefit from the PD1 baseband over PC1? If so, is just the PD1 baseband available yet in a flashable zip? Thanks.

I'm sure it's not the same firmware. Just the same date of release (PD1 means 2016 April version 1)

Thanks for the heads up TX. I kept a backup of my framework just in case some issues arise. I have yet to see any though

Yes started at lunch
ditto, just got prompted to install. not going to, yet....
edit:
just a security patch? isn't Nougat supposed to be pushed soon? makes me think it's a ways away if they chose not to bundle this with it.
1.85.605.8 to 1.85.605.9??
LMAO.
Only Verizon to tease with a security update when we're waiting for nougat.
Well at least it's the most current security patch.

I would search the forum under the root and recoveries. This has been discussed before, and there are ways to do it.
This has nothing to do with custom firmwares, I'm asking how to find stock nougat or how to update the phone, not how to root or flash twrp. At least how to find OTA files. As i see the latest RUU is from October.

I better sell this phone or exchange it to an international or other carrier variant than pay 25$ for a software that does almost nothing. I guess RUU is the only way to update it.

Keep that up and you will get no help around here. You might even be called a leech.
Ruu are generally posted only after availability of the OTA. As we have no nougat OTA I have no Verizon ruu to post yet.

Did i offend someone or what ? When i can help other people i help them, when i like someone's work i appreciate it and post positive comments and sometimes donate but S-OFF for 25 bucks.... In my country the average salary is 130$
I thought the nougat was released long time ago for HTC 10, verizon is really slow with these updates. I'll just wait for the RUU then.
