Hi everyone.
Since I always used CM I flashed it immediatly after I got my Galaxy S5, so I don't know if the following problem would also occur on stock firmware. I am running latest CM 13 nightly.
My phone finds all wifi networks, but when I want to connect it says: "Connecting..." (3sec), and then it just says "saved".
This happens primarily in networks with serveral hotspots (e.g. hotels). My laptop has a wifi connection good enough to stream movies, other cellphones connect, but my S5 doesn't even though it shows like 70% signal strength for the hotspot.
I tried to change wifi settings which didn't change anything and I upgraded the modem to a newer version which didn't change anything?
Does anyone have an idea? This is really unacceptable, because I am in foreign countries very often and depend on the wifi connection because I have no roaming-option.
Thank you very much!
Cheers!
Flash stock and then you'll know if it's the phone or the ROM

It's your router, not your phone(s). Can't believe you haven't considered the common factor.
There's nothing wrong with the WiFi on these phones. Hence you can't find answers to problems that don't exist...

I have no problem with wifi whenever I change new mobile phone . In your case you can try resetting your router.
I have reset the router and like I said in my earlier post, the problem was not just in my house with my wifi, its every wifi we have tried in different places all over
There isn't nearly enough data here to make any sort of assessment.
-Have you tested your connection settings from the phone? Try something like Speed Test to see if it can establish a connection.
-Does Wi-Fi stay connected or does it drop in and out? Does the Wi-Fi icon change to being grayed out? Does it turn itself off under your settings?
-Have you tried changing the connection type on the router? WPA2 to WEP, etc...
-Have you verified that the network is broadcasting an Internet connection from another device?
-Can you see the phone on your network from a computer?
-Have you tried pinging an IP address from your phone?
More than likely it's a DNS or DHCP issue. But I don't want to recommend any troubleshooting methods until the problem has been isolated.
Sent from CAMACHO, my Verizon G2 (VS980) running PAC ROM 4.3.
Every device in the house works fine on the network. I play xbox live all the time with no problems. No lagging whatsoever.the phones will connect to the network and look like it's always connected to the network but will not load any pages or any thing.one off the network, it works fine.thus is the only device that has ever not worked in my network

I have the same issue. I have had the phone for a month with no issues. The last couple of days, I can't stay connected to any wifi either. It has happened on multiple routers in multiple locations.
I have updated my router firmware (although it happens on all wifi routers). I get a connection, then it disconnects, finds the wifi again, and reconnects...over and over again.
Something is up.
Did a factory reset...wiped everything to start over again...didn't help.
At home I have a 2.4ghz and 5ghz Wifi network setup.
My S4 is always connected to the 5ghz and has never had any problems. My partners iDevices are also connected to it.
The other day when I got home I noticed that I kept getting the error 'Your internet connection is unstable' and couldn't use the 5ghz if I wasn't directly in front of the router. No settings had changed, no updates etc. It will discover and connect to the network but it won't load webpages or anything.
There is no new firmware for my router, I have tried all the different channels, and have even reset the router, and as a temporary fix I've only been using the 2.4ghz network. My iPad still works fine on the 5ghz anywhere in the house, and my partner has had no issues.
Has anyone else had this problem, or does anyone have a solution?
I'm running the stock 4.3 on the phone as I haven't even tried flashing it.

did you changed some wifi settings on your phone ??
cos if that happens you have to match the settings same both on pc{ of router } and phone
even if you are sure that you haven't changed anything just make sure and check the settings again
Hey guys,
I just recently rooted my s4 and I have been experiencing issues with my wifi. As a first time rooter, I was curious if there are any ideas you guys have to help? Thanks
Rooting won't have any impact on your WiFi or any other phone performance. Have you made any other changes since rooting and what Wi-Fi problems are you having?
I haven't really done anything at all after rooting it. My internet connections just says, "Network disabled because Internet connection is slow". Although it is slow, it has always connected before rooting. Now, I can't even send picture texts or be in group text messages. I've downloaded a few apps, but none that affects wifi.
Do you have this problem on all Wi-Fi or just one? I'd try resetting the router
I have about 5 wifi routers in my house and it doesn't work for any of them. I haven't tried it on a public wifi, but I'd assume it wouldn't work there either. I'm currently posting this from my house, so I know the wifi is working.
My download speed is 9 mbps and upload is 2.5 mbps so I know that the home wifi is not the issues, it has to be the phone. Is there something I could have forgotten to do that has caused this? or anything else?

Same problem here. Already posted about it in another thread. Have updated to 4.3 and eversince the phone won't connect to a wifi network unless it's placed right next to the router. Any other device connects smoothly. Same info when i check the wifi scan "Network disabled because Internet connection is slow". The problem stands for any router, not just mine.
I have already flashed a stock modem.bin, made no difference.
Had any better luck?
I got a wifi problem on my defy with CM11 Android 4.4.
At home I can connect to my routers wifi perfect.
But in school I can't connect to any network. The school has two available networks, one with a password and one without password that authorizes you through the browser.
I'm unable to connect to either of these. They have full wifi signal, but when I click connect they immediately drop to 1 "bar" and disconnect. After the disconnect I got full wifi signal again, but when I connect to drops to zero immediately.
Any idea on how to fix this? Maybe some of the network drivers having problems with networks with a lot of users?
Hi everyone!
Recently, I bought my mother a Galaxy Tab A 8-inch device (Model Number SM-T350) and it theres an issue where the device seems to be connected to her Wifi network, but after a while, she is not able to browse the internet or use Viber. The Wifi Network shows connected. But after a specific time, when she needs to use Viber, she cannot connect to the internet even though the network is connected to her Wifi network.
Its not only Viber, but she cannot browse the internet using Firefox or the native browser.
The only way to resolve this is by turning ON/OFF the Wifi.
We tried a number of things like Setting the Sleep options to Never disconnect from Wifi, resetting the router, and so forth...
I tried updating the device but it seems like that this unit only goes up to Android 6.0..1. There is no security software that I know of installed on the device either. I checked the router settings as well and all devices going through that router are not Blacklisted. So all devices can pass or connect to the network. No MAC address filtering turned ON, it is OFF. But these settings are irrelevant to the issue in question, as the device Wifi shows status as Connected...
This is quite a "PITTY" situation as her Viber contacts cannot even call her either because of this issue.
To recap or to sum it up on the issue, is that after a while the internet does not seem to work on the device even though its connected to her Wifi network.
My mother does not have any other devices at her home.
I wonder if this is an Android bug or there is an issue with our router?
The router in question is a Cisco WRVS4400N if this helps.
Thanks
Bump. I have the same issue with my Tab A 6.

How old is there router
I have a similar problem with the Samsung Galaxy tablet a. My version is SM-T350. When I 1st got it a few years ago, everything worked great and I was able to connect to the Wi-Fi no problem. However, I believe that was after an update, the tab A will no longer connect to the Internet in less it is sitting right next to the router. Even this can be sketchy. It has to be within 2" to connect. I don't think it has anything to do with the router, but something with the internal Wi-Fi. I was thinking before when I wouldn't be able to connect it I had to select WEP instead of WPA
