In my Moto X Play, I click regular pics. Some are worth devoting 5MB size when using 21MP resolution. But I want some images which are mostly documents to be below 2MB. Please suggest solutions?
use cam scanner app
Use an other app, like mx camera
Motorola x play et mi3w
google camera also great..many videos and pics resolutions.also a better camera app is great...

You can use the original camera with lady bug menu. In the lady bug menu you can set picture sizes.
Also there are helpful apps to get pictures smaller, like Send Reduced or some photo editor. So you can take photos with full quality and reduce them afterwards.

Hello everyone and a Happy New Year to all.. Well it was not going well since begining and i had to post here.. The Z2 has excellent rear cam and it just blew me with the quality...
But the front cam is really poor compared to my previous devices(Samsung phones).. Its grainy and the pictures come out like it has got a "smooth" filter applied on it.. The photos lose their details and isn't clear.. I have tried other apps like Camera360,Camera fv5 and Retrica only to find that it gets way worse with those filters... Photos turn blurry as hell and are too grainy.. On the New Year's eve while celebrating with my friends i found out that it isn't doing my job.. It was poor than iPhone 6 too.. The rear cam has such amazing capabilities but the front is so terrible of Z2.. I don't know of other Xperias as this is my first and i totally love it... But the front cam really spoils the mood..
So is there any solution to it??? Any rom?? Or any other way.. Please help![emoji24] [emoji24]

The problem is noise reduction which as I know is impossible to disable - it makes photos indistinct. If you don't want to have it just unlock bootloader (it will void warranty), but remember to backup DRM Keys first
Are you using a screen cover/protector that covers the front camera?
If so, remove it and clean the area where the front camera are.
My front camera works fine and is really crisp. Sure, it is a tad noisy when it's dark around. But not annoyingly
As far as I know, our phone doesn't really have a good front camera...
It truly sucks, but it's the truth
I'm not satisfied either, but it is well known how crappy are the front cameras on Xperias, at least 2014 and older models.

But thats supposed to make the camera more poor right? As the bootloader is unlocked all features are lost and camera quality degrades..
Sent from my D6502 using Tapatalk
Camera quality doesnt "degrade" when your bootloader is unlocked
Post processing is disabled.
The front camera is better on snapchat. Just try it.

Well... kinda half-true.
I'd say that anything over 5 megapixels needs a far better lens than any mobile phone/tablet can provide, due to limited space for the lens.
Sure... there are some exceptions, but those exceptions isn't that far off 5 megpixels anyway.
A really good 5 megapixel camera can take better pictures than any <insane amount of mpxls> -mobile device.
Your not the only one thats not satisfied with the front camera...

Is it possible to remove all the post processings from the front selfie camera? I turned off all the beauty stuff and even then the pictures still have a cartoony smoothing effect and I dislike it. I used the Google camera once and it took the pictures perfectly fine without any post processing and I liked it but it doesn't take full advantage of the front camera resolution.

Can't remember exactly but I think
8mp 16:9
Iso100 or 50
Multi metering
Object tracking off
Summer beer
Sunrise in St Ives.
Iso50
8mp
Exposure slider - 2
St Ives harbour
can somebody post some pictures with low light. i was thinking to keep my z3, but i'm beggining to like and thinking about buying the xperia x. The sunrise picture from djlukew looks like a difficult one for a camera and it looks amazing. Does this phone have the option to choose the exposure time btw? Thanks for your shares

great quality
Related question: Anyone else experience problems focusing with the sony camera app? Had to switch to Open Camera for it to work as I expected. Maybe I'm doing something wrong?
Things I've tried to fix focus on sony camera app:
- Clear app data
- Tried manual and automode
- Disables object tracking
None really helped.

I was a little disappointed at the zooming and quick snap pics. I took pictures of everything I was around yesterday. I'm coming from an iPhone 6s, so it's not apples to apples in my opinion.
Some reviewers are liking the camera, and some users are disappointed - perhaps we need some 3rd party DEV magic and come up with a great camera app, because, with the same sensor in this camera as the one in the Galaxy S7 we should be able to get some great results!
This video I recorded today was pretty much a dealbreaker. That was some pretty bad pixelation

This was on a Facebook upload. From experience something gets messed up when uploading to Facebook. I haven't had any issues like this when stored on my phone of through Google

To be fair, Facebook artifacts the heck out of videos so that is Facebook's fault not the camera.
Does facebook force the camera into the vertical position when filming?

Are you seriously trying to tell us that's from a Moto G5 Plus? That doesn't even look remotely similar to any videos I've taken.

These photos were taken on a recent business trip to Las Vegas. All my photos are set to backup to google photos then delete the device copy (no need to have multiple copies of the same photo). I have my google photos set to back up at the lower resolution. As you can tell...they are still pretty darn good for the price of the phone...and I am sure the originals would be even better at full resolution.

Hi guy's
I had to reset my phone because of the moisture detection message error (don't even ask nightmare)
Anyways I had the excellent ORIGINAL HDR + camera app and loves it used it for all my pictures but cannot find it now! I've tried seriously about 100 version from here of new nodded one but most crash and don't work or the ones that do don't get close to the over egged pictures I use to love using the original.
I've been looking all over Google with no luck please if anyone can help it would be much appreciated
Just checked on my photos I uploaded to Google photos on my lost Google camera app and is as below info
20180519_092409.jpg
12.2MP 4032 x 3024 2.5 MB
samsung SM-G950F
f/1.7 1/2832 4.20 mm ISO40
HDR is in your camera settings. Auto, on or off are the choices. I suppose any app for HDR hooks into this setting.
