Hello
When I click the microphone icon or say the phrase 'ok Google' the search window opens for an instance and then closes again. There is no error message. This behavior is regardless of where I perform the search. The result is the same from the Google now view, when the screen is off or for voice searches from within the imdb app.
When I restart the phone the problem usually goes away but is back after a voice search or two.
What should I do?

I have an ATT Nexus One (2.2) and lately i have not consistently been receiving notification of new sms' in the google voice app. i only realize that i have new messages when visiting google voice via the web or manually opening the client on my device; these messages have been sitting unread for several hours. when i do open the google voice app, the new message alert/notificaiton is set off immediately. i suspect that the background google voice service/listening daemon on android is not running correctly or occasionally needs to be restarted/reset.
i've also noticed that the google voice app doesn't launch the first time i tap on its icon on the home screen. usually the first tap is not registered or the screen flashes as if it's launching. i'll have to select it again, and then it'll launch properly to the inbox.
am i going crazy? anyone else having similar problems? thanks.
i was hoping to uninstall and reinstall the app, but it can't be uninstalled (at least as far as i've seen via the market or in the settings menu)
Is there a way to change the long press of the search button to launch voice dialer like my G1 used to?
You had a search button on a g1?
It brings up voice search, and I just tried "call home" and the top result was to dial home. You could also install vlingo, it has a more direct dial command.
oh, i meant the power/hangup button long press. when i say "call home" it opens google search in my web browser with the words call home as the search string...
Google Play showed an update for the Google Keyboard this afternoon so I took it. Since then, the voice to text input button has disappeared on my keyboard. I have the "Google voice typing" option enabled under settings so now sure what the problem is. Any ideas? I've tried disabling/enabling the option, restarting the phone but still can't get it to work.
Edit: Just noticed they moved the button to the top right of the keyboard.
I cannot eliminate the VM icon on the task bar. There are no voicemails. I have tried but it does not swipe away. I have tried to restart, clear cache, to no avail. Any ideas? This phone just got set up with no other issues. I cannot even find a voice mail app.
You should have a voicemail application in your list of applications.
From your home screen, swipe up into the application list and type "voicemail" in the "Search Apps" area.
Once you open the application there are probably "sample" messages describing the Sprint voice to text service. (Good add on service, especially if you are often in meetings and can't listen to a voicemail... you can read the transcription.)
Hey All,
I am still using Oreo 8.1, and am mostly happy. Recently (likely after a Google update of some sort I am getting a BLANK page when i double tap on Google voice notifications from the lock screen. I see the regular messages page for a split second then it's blank/ Exiting and re-entering google voice shows me the content normally.
I am using the current version of Nova launcher and am rooted.
I have tried deleting cache/data for a few things, Nova, Google voice, SMS. No change.
Anyone else experiencing this or have a fix or workaround?
Thanks,
Rich
