I have a HTC HD2 and when the screen is locked, it shows a number 1 (identifying that i have a notification).
When i tap the notification icon, it drops down and shows me the voicemail icon - which means i should have a new voicemail message to listen to.
If i slide the voicemail icon, the phone goes straight to phone book, but when i call my voicemail - there are no new messages...
I have tried everything and i just cant get rid of this voicemail icon! I DO NOT want to do a hard reset.... Please let me know how to sort this out...
+1.
I'm too having this problem. Whenever there's a new email notification on the lock screen it always shows there are 2 messages, one being a voicemail.
I can't find a solution for this problem here on XDA (if anyone has a search string for me, please let me know )
I remember Nokias having ghost voicemail messages, these were reset by the mobile service provider, check with your network just in case.
Possible Solution...
I'm not an expert, but I kept noticing this problem as well (HTD2 on AT&T). Happens after a hard reset OR if AT&T updates their network or something (who knows).
Anyway, experimented and found if I left a message to my phone from another line right after a reset (when I was seeing the "ghost" voice mail notification), allowed the message to register on the HD2. Turn screen off then on. Slide VM notification. Dial VM. Check the messages and delete all (press 7 to delete). Exit VM with * key. And the ghost notification disappears. I will update if this works in the future.
Hope this helps someone.

Some consumers reported ghost notifications on the Touch Pro 2. I don't know how they fixed them but I know they did. You may want to search those forums to see if the same solution can be used on the HD2. I think it should given that the operating software is pretty much the same.
any solution ?
i tried this but doesnt workhttp://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=7731861&postcount=10
I have an ATT Nexus One (2.2) and lately i have not consistently been receiving notification of new sms' in the google voice app. i only realize that i have new messages when visiting google voice via the web or manually opening the client on my device; these messages have been sitting unread for several hours. when i do open the google voice app, the new message alert/notificaiton is set off immediately. i suspect that the background google voice service/listening daemon on android is not running correctly or occasionally needs to be restarted/reset.
i've also noticed that the google voice app doesn't launch the first time i tap on its icon on the home screen. usually the first tap is not registered or the screen flashes as if it's launching. i'll have to select it again, and then it'll launch properly to the inbox.
am i going crazy? anyone else having similar problems? thanks.
i was hoping to uninstall and reinstall the app, but it can't be uninstalled (at least as far as i've seen via the market or in the settings menu)
Hi. I'm using superclean 2.4 voodoo and am using Google Voice for voicemail. I turned off the text notification option in its settings, but I still get text/transcripts every time I get a voicemail and it's extremely annoying for me. I just want a regular voicemail notification icon in the notification bar and that's it. Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug? Thanks in advance.
I believe I figured it out. Regardless of what the app settings are, it was turned on within Google Voice on the website for my account under Settings/Voicemail tab under "Voicemail Notifications" where it was checked on. I still believe the app is buggy since even when I delete voicemails via the app, say in the Spam folder or Trash folder, they don't go away - I have to login to the website to do that. So just a heads up for anyone who runs into any these problems.
After unlocking the phone and switching networks, I no longer get the voicemail notice on my Today screen. I still get a text saying I have voicemail, and even the speech bubble icon, but the Today menu item which took me directly to voicemail no longer comes up. Is there a way of configuring this?
Cheers
Problem: I do not receive any type of voicemail notification (no 9016 text, no voicemail icon in my notification bar, nothing).
About my phone: I have a Sprint Galaxy S4 (SPH-L720). I am running CM11. I can access my voicemail by holding the "1" in dialer (so I know the number is accurate in the settings). The "Message Wait" indicator option is checked in the voicemail setup. I did try Google Voice for a while (hated it, messed with my text messaging). I uninstalled it from my phone and disabled it via the google.com/voice site. I also cancelled call forwarding (*720) and conditional call forwarding (*38). When I call my voicemail or someone else calls my voicemail, it does go to the sprint voicemail system (I am confident I've severed the connection to Google Voice).
Fixes I've tried with no success: I've tried a few voicemail notification apps from the Play Store that are supposed to work with custom ROMs to "listen" for a voicemail. I've tried leaving myself a voicemail and deleting it. I've checked the Message Wait Indicator button in the settings. I've disabled call forwarding and conditional call forwarding as described above. I've made sure that I have no numbers Blacklisted. I've called Sprint and asked them to reset my voicemail on their end.
I've searched and searched. Most of what I find is 1) Use Google Voice (I tried and hated it); 2) people that have a persistent voicemail notification or 9016 text messages (I have nothing and want something), or 3) people that want Visual Voicemail to work (I don't care about visual voicemail, I just want a notification of some sort that says "Hey you have a voicemail". I don't always have great reception (Sprint is so terrible...but cheap), so I don't always know if I have a missed call.
Does anyone have any suggestions? Do you need more info? Thanks to all of you for your time and all you do on this site; it has helped me tremendously in the past. This is the first time I've been completely stumped after searching and had to post a question.
