A few hours ago my 935F stopped getting texts on AT&T. I can send them fine, but nothing ever receives - they are totally gone.
If I throw my SIM back into my official AT&T phone, SMS works perfectly fine. I tried doing a factory reset, checking APNs etc and nothing will work. The phone is NOT rooted, and was working for several weeks perfectly fine.
Anyone know of something I could try to fix this?
I'm having the exact same issue, also got a 935F and not getting texts on at&t. please help.

me too. not just text but also "no service" at all. ><. Not sure it's because it's not US version but international version has anything to do with it? Region lock?
I have the 935A and have intermittent texting issues on mine but it's sending (maybe I'm not receiving some too??) I am also on AT&T I hope this doesn't happen to me permanently.
Same here. 935F on AT&T. Texts are coming in 6 hours delayed. No idea how many haven't come in at all.

Hi, I'm new to this forum.
I recently changed from Galaxy S4 to Galaxy S5 and for some time I stopped receiving text messages from most of the people that I normally text.
I'm not quite sure what the problem is, I have signal, can make phone calls, send text messages but they just won't come through if someone else sends them.
At first I thought it was because I was using Hangouts I my default messaging app, but recently I changed it back to the stock messages and still no improvement.
The thing is that if I put my sim card back to my Galaxy S4 the messages come to me in about 2 or 3 minutes, and then when I put it back to my S5 it starts to works fine. This is the 3rd time this has happened within 1 week or so.
Any suggestions? I searched for this problem but I couldn't find anything related.

Same problem here, maybe someone could help ?
Might you be on the T-Mobile variant? If so, the recently released firmware update supposedly fixes this ( or a similar? ) issue.

Friends of mine were at my house over the weekend and he had a samsung s4 and had the same problem after logging onto my wifi. It is the wifi causing the problem. I had an old modem and netgear router that we hooked up and then we were able to receive calls like you should. We switched out the modem/router combo on Sat to my older setup and my phone is still working normally! I called my dsl provider and told them about the problem as I just bought the modem/router combo from them recently.
They never heard of anything like this. I do find it hard to believe that the home wifi equipment disrutes the cell phone signal. But my phone is now working!!! Anyone ever heard of this or that can explain why this would happen I would love to hear about it.
So re-rooted last night, sms isn't working, everything else is working great, but sms isn't working

Are you running 935U or 935A firmware? What caused you to re-root?
I ask because I recently flashed back to 935A PG1 firmware from 935U, and when Enhanced LTE is enabled it prevents me from sending and probably receiving sms. It just fails immediately. When it's disabled, sms/mms works.
I have altered the ims ATT .xml file in /efs/sec_efs as recommended by @najoor, but it still isn't working.
Been on g935a firmware only on here, will try that
Ended up changing the roaming settings and somehow fixed it
I opened a thread on this issue over on ATT forums. Since the last update, whenever I try to send a MMS with Enhanced Messaging turned on, the failure rate is unacceptable. I send photos to my brother, who also has this phone, and has his turned on, and out of 4 photos. 1-2 will almost always fail. It seems that this also happens when photos are fired off in a rapid succession.

Same issue here, which is why I switched to the U firmware. I like using the default messaging app (for once) with this phone because it matches the themes. My boyfriend and I send a lot of MMS back and forth, and we were constantly asking one another to resend. He has the LG G5 fully stock. Not sure if his phone has the advanced messaging or not. Since I went with the U version, the issue has resolved. However my friend who still has the S5 active has been sending me "long text messages" all week (which I'm assuming transfers into a MMS) and I have not received them at all. I don't know if it is an issue with my phone or her's (which she is complaining is slooowwwww).
Hello everyone. I've owned my 6p since it was first released and have used T-Mobile this whole time. Recently I noticed that no one was texting me so I decided to test it out and text myself and I was right . I wasn't receiving any messages. At the time I thought it might have been something to do with me running a custom ROM so I unrooted and went back to stock and still the same thing was happening. I can send messages but nothing comes back to me. I talked to T-Mobile for a few hours. Literally troubleshooting everything on their end and everything was fine. Full service and all. Now I've been looking all over online and have yet to find anything. The frustration is really getting to me. Has anyone else experienced anything like this before? Are there any setting in my 6p that I might need to check out? Please help me guys.
Again. I have full service bars with activated service. I can make calls browse the web and send messages. I'm just not receiving anything. Also I am using stock google messenge
Of the top of my mind, clear google msn cache and data, from configuration> apps> google messenger... also check in hangouts if u have it if the google messenger is the default app for sms..
Once a long time ago, the rom tool box was the default app for sms and instalation of apps, dunno why this happend.. hope it helps, also u can use a third party app for sms and check, or even the hangouts.
good luck.
Could you provide a screen shot of your selected APN?

I contacted T-Mobile and they went through all that with me and my apn was all correct. It's the same apn I've been using the whole time. Also to the guy who said clear cache I fully factory reset the whole phone and re installed every app. I would assume that would clear the cache? It's so frustrating cause everything seems to be working. It's like my phone wants to be stubborn and not receive messages lol
Can you try your SIM card with another phone?
Ok I fixed it. Very weird. I switched to 2g and all texts came through then went back to LTE and continued working
Hey I have the same issue with my OnePlus 3. Stopped receiving sms 3 days ago. I can send sms just fine.
Like note3userr I had rooted my phone, so un-rooted it and did a factory reset, but the issue still persists.
I'm also on Tmobile, my selected APN is T-Mobile US (epc.tmobile.com)
Switched to 2G and back to 4G, as noteuserr suggested. The trick worked for me!
Weird as **** though...

Glad I can help man. Seems like it might be a T-Mobile thing. Very frustrating to deal with
For the past month my wife's Galaxy S5 Verizon Variant has been having issues receiving calls. She can make calls, text(In,Out), internet and everything else under the sun.
We where with MetroPCS and recently they said they had issues with BYOD Phones and that it should be corrected soon.
Less then a month later it happened again. errr..
So today we switched to T-Mobile thinking the issue would resolve and that it was metro goofing up.. well wrong apparently problem still occurring regardless of what settings I use all calls to her just go straight to voicemail.
Asides Factory Reset (trying not to do as she has alot of stuff un abled to back up so far ).. I am at a loss..
I need some help pinpointing an issue with my unlocked S8 (SM-G950U1) running Oreo (8.0) on Verizon Wireless.
While browsing the web and checking Facebook this afternoon I noticed my S8 dropping dropping from 4G to 3G, then eventually returning to 4G. I restarted my phone a few times, then after one of the restarts, I received two text messages at once. I thought it was a fluke, but I decided to contact Verizon to make sure they weren't having any network problems in my area. I forgot my Verizon password, so I had to request a verification code. I requested two codes, but I didn't receive them. I restarted my phone, then I received both codes. I eventually chatted with a Verizon Rep who claimed they were having no network issues in my area. I reset the network settings, cleared the system cache in recovery, and successfully received a few texts in safe mode. However, this happened a third time and the pattern was the same: Drop from 4G to 3G, return to 4G, restart the phone, receive text messages that were sent sometime prior to the restart. I rushed down to my local Verizon store and got a new SIM card just so I could rule that out as a possible problem. I'm trying to do everything I can before I do a factory rest. I really don't want to hassle with that.
I have been having a problem receiving notifications while my screen is off. This started happening after I received the following software update in early September. This issue has been documented a few other places as well, but I can't find anyone who is experiencing both issues, so I'm left to think the two issues are separate and not related.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated. (And if you suggest a hardware problem with the radio, yes, I've thought about that, but I'm in denial about that possibility.)
I have a similar issue. I too have an unlocked S8 but on AT&T. I have a new sim and have factory reset my device recently and still have issues with notifications, but SMS send to be ok, it's mostly with Gmail, messaging apps (not SMS) and other notifications. I am in the latest firmware (CRH3). I it's a software issue personally.

Yeah, I'm certain the notification issue is related to the software. I just don't know if I can attribute the text message issue to software or hardware.
