Hi, does anyone have the service manual, or a link, a video or something for Dell Venue 11 Pro 7130? Ive contacted Dell and they said they wont give it to me because only the technicians have access to it to take apart tablets. I need to change the LCD on my Venue and I have the new LCD in front of me but I dont want to screw it up so im looking for some help. Thanks!!
Hello @nickc75,
you can take a look at this website for videos replacing specific parts in the Venue.
On the official Dell Website for the Venue 7130 Pro/7139 Pro there's only a PDF disassembly guide for the 7139, which might still be helpful.
I found a full disassembly video here.
The Venue is also partially disassembled in this video. At 07:37 you can see it's exactly your model.

Is it possible to install Windows phone 7 on Dell Venue and replace Android
I don't see why it wouldn't be possible, I mean they have essentially the same exact specs. The only problem is someone actually taking the time to port it over.
Man, you're in the wrong forum.

i would totally throw my DVP out the window for the VP if it had mp7.. pointless keyboard. i refuse to go back to LCD screen.
HTC fails by not using amoled and nokia in the pipe are to small. I guess samsung is the only hope left...
we are all assumnig dell killed thier "mango" (ie, next version of venue) phone, right?
VP has hspa+ and the dvp only normal hspa? (am i wrong?)

I plan on picking up a dell venue pro 11 tablet (Baytrail) and was wondering how hard is it to dual boot these tablets? Id like to get android on. Is there a general thread out there?

The asus t100 thread might be relevant. The hardware is near identical.
In its current state, its not looking good. But unlike on the RT tablets and the clovertrail tablets, things do actually attempt to boot, so there is promise for the near future. Android you can get to boot fully, but its unusably slow and buggy.
One of the most used software is Bluestacks which is alright but not excellent, and it runs it sort of like a VM. Not sure you can actually Dual Boot it unless you buy a Dual OS device such as the Asus Transformer Book Trio, there was a Dual Booting software in the works which look promising but there's no news on it.

give me $450 to buy a dell venue pro 11, and I'll get started on it as well
wait for someone with some technical skills and try and post their results... hopefully it's not as bad as the T100
with the t100 you can get into an efi like in this video too boot linux from an usb stick: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nsp8XFcAS7o
so it should be possible to install different OSs maybe one with a bootloader. shouldn't be to much different on the venue pro because win 8.1 kind of recommends it.
Does anyone know if the venue pro 11 baytrail version has soldered emmc memory or a msata solution for internal storage? i also would like to upgrade to 4gigs of ram to use it as replacement for my old notebook (2gig with no dedicated memory for graphics are really not what i'm hoping for)

Memory on all the windows tablets so far has been soldered.
Storage I dont know.
Storage != Memory.

It will most likely will come with a soldered memory making it really hard to be user replaceable, as far as I'm aware the Bay trail configuration only comes with 2gb RAM, but that might change in a couple days (November 7th) when this tablet is released. I'd suggest you check prices over at Amazon and Walmart since they're offering the 8 Pro at cheaper prices than Dell.
Hey guys so I have been working on a way to fix our android issues. Currently this is still a proof of concept thing, but I have a sort of dual boot going. I have made a video of it in action.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CyLgvlgpExY
Basically it is still really crude, but it is running in virtual box with a program called Genymoiton. It is decently fluid, but the 3D acceleration does not work (I am working on a fix) and the click and hold is still a little buggy because it does not register the tablet as a touchscreen, it does only clicks. This is also being worked on, but hopefully my goal here is to have both systems running inside of each other, so that we can have quick access to both. I will keep you guys posted with what else I can do, and I will probably put up another video sometime soon.
I got the i5 version of the Dell Venue 11 Pro
I'm dual booted between Windows 8 and Android using:
http://consoleos.com/
Would be nice to have an accessories thread for this device, and since XDA has no forum for it(the one they have is for the years old venue pro legacy device) I thought I'd start one. If you need accessories, post here. If you have found good ones, post here. I will start:
This case is perfect! There are a lot of cases but I don't like how nearly all of them require you to fold your lid around to the back of the device and slip it under a leather piece attached there. This is not an efficient way of standing a device up! I searched long and hard to find this case. It was worth the effort!

Okay so far the past week ive been very very happy with my phone but was appalled by the amount of bugs that the phone came with at release, most noticeably the audio video synchronisation issue. For the past few days i have been bugging everyone i could to get this issue resolved.
So here are the results:
The ZTE UK page got back to me about the issue and this is what they said:
Hi Rikin, thanks for your message. We are sorry to hear that you are experiencing problems with your Axon 7. We have raised this with our tech team who are working to solve the issues. Thanks for your patience. Thanks again, the ZTE UK team.
Hi Rikin, We do not have an exact date of when this issue will be fixed but we are working to sort this as soon as possible. Thanks, the ZTE UK team.
Got a similar response on twitter as well, this shows me that they now do know about the issue as multiple users are reporting it and are doing something about it to get us a software update soon.
Then i suggested we Europeans get a community board like this and the response was:
Thanks for your comment, we'll take this on board.
Its clear to me that we probably wont get a community board due to the vague answer.
Now i contacted the amazon seller EKEYUK as well to see if they could escalate the issue with ZTE, this is what i got in response:
First of all, ZTE shipment version is the official version. Regarding the voice is not picture - synchronization issues: (1) please make sure to use the player is watching video, playing is a mobile phone video or online video?Through what Internet access in the review, the network signal is normal? (2) please replace the replacement of different sources, is still the same problems, eliminate sources. (3) please try to use the other player to watch, see if there is the same problem, can be ruled out the problem on players. (4) if the problem still exists, please feedback usage scenario, whether can help ZTE developers use tools to catch the LOG?Assist in problem. If there are other questions, can send emails directly to this email ([email protected]), ZTE will arrange someone to answer you.
Clear to me they believe its a software bug as well instead of a phone defect which is probably true, i suggest we all email the VIP email to sort of escalate this issue to get it sorted.
Now heres the good part, this is direct from the Amazon seller.
And we just confirm that ZTE supplier provide the 2.0 passport service for sure any issue.
Now this is great news, this is what i was hoping for, it looks like all the complaining has got us this warranty. I dont know how true it is as i have not heard it from ZTE themselves but the seller seems to be acknowledging it so looks like we are getting the same warranty as the USA! Now if only ZTE could roll out the same ROM as the USA for the UK/EU users. I will try get a more indepth answer/confirmation about this, but results are looking promising.
I will keep everyone updated about how i get on, and if you would like me to pester about any other software issues to ZTE please post a comment here!
~Rik
Nice effort and good job from you.
I think giving an option for flashing the US rom to European version will be great news
Or much better being included out of the box with new units shipped from now to customers that pre order the device.
Also having the same Passport 2 warranty as US customers is really great news but better have official statement from ZTE and not only by the third party seller.
