Would be nice to have an accessories thread for this device, and since XDA has no forum for it(the one they have is for the years old venue pro legacy device) I thought I'd start one. If you need accessories, post here. If you have found good ones, post here. I will start:
This case is perfect! There are a lot of cases but I don't like how nearly all of them require you to fold your lid around to the back of the device and slip it under a leather piece attached there. This is not an efficient way of standing a device up! I searched long and hard to find this case. It was worth the effort!

Hi,
One of our Directors left the business, on going through his junk we found a sole XDA II in what looks like mint condition, no charger or box or software or anything, just the device.
Is it worthwhile sourcing the accessories to make it usable or is it just too old now to be of any real value?
Cheers
GD
depend on what you wanna do with it really
your sig say you have XDA Mini s
xdaII can do pretty much the same thing and one can put wm6 on it
the bigger screen mean that i guess it's better to play games on and read ebooks on then mini
sell it to me ghostdog, i miss my himalaya it went sky diving and his chute didnt open .
Seriously though they are great devices people are put off them because of the size but that never bothered me, personally. Plus as rudegar has said you can get wm6 on them, plus they have practically been hacked every way. So if you dont mind the size then i would say fire it up. I would revive any ppc i managed to get my hands on lol
Hello all!
Just wondering if anyone has stumbled across a CAD model or prints for the Nexus 7? Looking for something that makes Solidworks or AutoCAD inventor happy.
I've started to model it, but I assume that there's already something like this floating around out there.
Thanks!
Have you seen anything more on this topic?
Would also like to have 3d model.
When searching the only thing i have seen are sites that sell model for $50+ ....
Ok so here is a lil mockup. For probably 95 percent of accessories its good enough. I just took a pair of calipers to mine and here we have it.

I'm wondering how many XDA folks have ordered the new Flame reference phone? I was able to check it a few weeks ago and have to say its an even more polished device then the ZTE Open and Keon. I'm looking forward to getting one soon.

If they had a "Flame Mini" with a maximum 3.5" screen and physical shutter button, I'd bite.
The price and specs are to far apart for me to buy, that price I can buy an octa core android phone, $100 max on a dual core even $100 is to much, but willing to let slide. I simply can't justify paying $170 for a dual core when I know for a fact I can get an 8 core for less. I am out on the flame.
I've been thinking about it, especially since my Nexus One is about to bite the metaphorical dust, but I'm not sure. I've grown quite accustomed to Android over the past couple of years, and though I know that rationally, my Nexus 7 can still run ParanoidAndroid to satisfy that part of me, it's quite the jump.
So, possibly. Once my N1 decides it's time to die, anyhow. Should be anytime within the next couple of weeks.

Hi,
I got my flame last friday. German customs and DHL wanted 52 Euro before they handed the device over to me. So in total I paid now around 170 Euro.
Putting this aside, after 3 days of extensive usage, I can tell following things:
It comes with firefox os 1.3.0.0-prelelease (git commit: 2014-06-16 5c43d012)
Pro:
- Dual Sim capabilities are working nearly perfectly, having my private sim as first one using internet and in/outgoing calls and my buisness sim put into the second slot for receiving calls. Doing a call over the second sim requires to get into settings menu and reassign the outgoing calls to second sim, which is a little inconvenient.
- Hardware seems very well built and due to the weight, the device feels very valueable.
- I like the design
- Firefox OS boots very fast and runs then without any glitches or freezes, it feels responsible like android device with 2.2 ghz processor.
- Applications start instantly, almost no waiting.
- Chatting using various protocols (Whatsapp, jabber, irc) works quite well using apps from marketplace.
- Surfing the web works perfect, especially the scrolling feels so natrual, no noticable delay.
Neutral:
- Battery lasting just about 15-16 hours under normal load (Chatting from time to time, browsing and about 30 minutes of youtube videos), but as I'm usually having a powerpack or usb available wherever I go, this is no real showstopper for me.
Cons:
- The camera. Pictures just look aweful, in case you are not lighten your object with a bulb as powerful as the sun. Pictures with enabled flash are even worse.
- It's hard to search for information, as google always thinks you mean "firefox" instead of "firefox os"
I'll now dig into app development and start "programming" or better scripting some stuff.
kind regards,
--peter;
Mine arrived in Perth, Western Australia on Friday also but I was away at work and so only picked it up on Monday.
Thanks for the brief review, I too like the heft and feel of mine. Not tested the cameras yet ...
The screen cover feels like glass ... I sure hope it is because I haven't been able to find a protective cover for it yet.
I'm trying to "educate" google by attaching FxOS to the word Firefox whenever I search and it seems to help. FxOS by itself doesn't show much (yet!) but the personal "filter bubble" should kick in soon. Some people fear the "Google Filter Bubble" but it is useful in cases like this.

Those who got their Flame this week, did you unpack it carefully enough to keep the Recovery Cable?
Mine was not inside the box but just loose in the bubble wrap bag. No sign yet of the companion "Emergency Download Tool" software. I hope it's not too far away because I'd like to backup the factory rom the try FxOS 2, help with debugging etc. which of course will increase of probability of temporary "brick" creation.
I found wifi certificates for what seems like our phone where it's described as:-
Company TCT Mobile Ltd.
Product Foxfone One
Model Number Flame
Anyone know whether it's a close enough match to another model in the Alcatel One Touch range to buy covers and screen protectors for it?
Actually if you are a developer and want to port your apps to Firefox OS there is a program that lets you get a Flame for free in Mozilla Hacks hacks(dot)mozilla(dot)org/2014/05/build-your-next-app-with-a-flame/
Yet you have to meet some requirements
Instructions for using Emergency download mode, a link to the Thundersoft Emergency Download Tool software, and instructions for updating the rom, all the way to the still unstable version 2.1 nightly builds.
https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/Firefox_OS/Developer_phone_guide/Flame
Excellent support from Mozilla and Thundersoft, this phone could become a classic, if this continues.
Hi everyone! I'm not new here on XDA, but i'm new into Windows 10 "mobile" handsets. I've seen a lot of review about several differen models but haven't find yet the perfect one for me. I used to do my everyday tasks with a Galaxy tab S2 (2015) then it broke in a non fixable way. I've decided to change and try with a Windows tablet to see how feels a pc like experience handled. Actually i don't have (and don't want to) a lot of money to invest in a similar product, but i can afford max a 250/300€ device. I know i can't expect a Surface performance for that price, but i just need it to view some streaming movies, surf the web and mainly use Office products to study. Anyway i'm here to ask if you can help me and suggest some of the best or what you think may be the best tablets out there. If may help you, i'll write down some of the key point i wish to have:
- A decent soc/good ram: Again, i know i can't expect much...not even thinking on top performance, but i'll be fine if i'll have a product that doesn't stuck while i'm using it. Otherwise would become too frustrating.
- 8-12 inchs: Preferibly 10, but anything above or below would be fine.
- No dual boot: May reduce storage since i don't mind to use anything than Windows. Really don't need a dual os.
- Brand: I'm open to everything. Really don't mind about the brand (even if it will be chinese) as it respects the above "expectations".
In conclusion, i don't need a "top" product and i'm aware that i can't pretend too much for the budget, but i just need a decent product to accomplish my everyday tasks, nothing more. I repeat, i'm a student so Microsoft Office will be the main use of this tablet, beside web and netflix or similar. I could use a laptop, i know...but i prefer to have something i can carry easily wherever i go. I'd really apprecciate any advice and/or personal experience. Thank you.
I guess that no one knows that...or simoly it doesn't exist. Well, this discussion can be closed then
tablets are alwayys laggy, even if theyre not at first. browse sites for few days or install some apps and it will start lagging. my fatherbought tablet and doesnt use it at all cuz its so laggy and broken
older used Surface Pro? I'm not even sure what other options there are, that is the only one I ever see.
I Like my Odys Wintab Ares 9.
It still lives after 3 years.. I used it a couple of times at work for a couple of months because the chefs thought Lenovo is good for a Technician too use... You just have too look angry at Lenovo and the Touchscreen cracks !
On my Odys I now need a new screenprotector, it is as if its build by HTC.. You can let it fall, bump against walls and use it in light rain..
And the price was 159€ ..
The only negativ is that it has a storage of only 32GB.. but I have a 128GB SDXC in it..
With a decent bluetooth keyboard and cheap bluetooth Microsoft mouse I prefer it over the too expensive Surface or Lenovo Tablets.. For the difference in Price I bought a Acer Aspire Laptop and took my girlfriend for a fancy diner..
I just got the HP Pro Tablet 608 G1, and it's really snappy. Just updated it to 20H2 and it's even better. Got it brand new on eBay with Miracast/usb/hdmi dock for $89.

Only 2 GB of RAM? That's not gonna get very far with W10...
1. Microsoft Surface Go 2
2. Fusion5 10-inch tablet.
3. Teclast X4
These are the three tablets which are available but I don't recommend you to buy any of them.

I have the enterprise edition with 4GB ram. Got it off eBay NIB for $80.
It has a bunch of enterprise-only features which make it extremely snappy -- like bios editing, rom kitchen, driver customization, and enterprise-only firmware from chip manufactures like Hynix... to name just a few.
So, it isn't low-end by any means. Even came with a USB/ethernet/hdmi/miracast docking station. Found the HP Enterprise Catalog price list from years ago, and it was originally $1,049.
I would recommend a Microsoft surfaces pro 7
