So... as the title says I wanted to talk to you all about something really simple...yet powerful. For anyone who has tried jgcaap's CM13 rom you'll know that the OPO is capable of extreme performance, easily beating my friends Nexus 6p in both benchmarks and real world usage... But the question is why? (And in case you are curious, the antutu test my friend and I did came out to: OPO - 75,000 ish, vs N6P 68,000 ish.) Once I flashed this rom, I was blown away, while before I felt the urge to upgrade to something newer... after flashing I've been prevented from buying anything new 2015+ because nothing has performed better than my OPO now. It's like a Super OPO now!
I've used the Moto X Pure, the Nexus 6p, the HTC m8/M9, and NONE of them felt anywhere near as instant fast as my OPO running jgcaap's rom. Why is this? Especially compared to the SD808 and SD810. Did OnePlus just choose some magical super variant of the SD801? I've done various testing and some of the results were interesting, I noticed that the ram's r/w speeds on the OPO were are average twice as fast as the other phones I had tested. Interesting! I did not get a chance to test the internal r/w speeds but I presume that must also be a factor. The biggest difference is that everything on my OPO just "goes". It never hangs, everything opens instantly, and apps that require a longer loading time always finish faster on the OPO. I've even underclocked the OPO to a mere 1200mhz, and it still flies past the others. What is this magic?
What are your thoughts guys? Why does the OPO's SD801 perform much better than an SD808 or SD810? Do you all think it's just the processor? Or something else?
Discuss!
Better storage (not the space, type) we can get 80MB/s copy paste easily. We can open apps faster because of that and we have a good processor mated with a great amount and type of RAM, Operating System is optimized because it comes perinstalled with CM, proprietary blobs are great, camera is awesome! Maybe not the best but great

So it seems to mainly be the storage r/w speeds? That makes sense, an SSD makes a pc as fast as it can get!
Could be more could be that, yes SSD is a great example. Flash storages are even better and yea get 80-82MB/s easy which I don't get on lots of phones

So, how well would android run with storage r/w speeds of 500 mb/s+? Like insane?
+1
I've noticed the same one my OPO, I'm using sultan's CM13 ROMs and its blazing fast. The entire OS feels so tight and snappy, all that talk about "lag" in Android is pretty much non existent. It makes even the day to day performance of iOS look meh, especially when it comes to general usage and multitasking.
Its a shame I can't get the same out of my OP2 that is also running CM13, although it is still much better than OOS and H2OS. But then again, given the lack of official support for CM13 on the OP2 I guess that explains why.

There is another example of the OPO's SD801 outperforming new chipsets. And especially since they are both 1080p. The SD810 and 808 must just be gabrage lol

Take into account that those are 64bit chipsets, the sd801 is still 32bit.

Bitrate can make the thing 2x faster, right now the CPU takes (say 32) instructions at one moment, with 64 bit it would be able to take 64 instructions at the same time lowering processing speed by a LOT

Yeah but how many apps are 64-bit optimised? Also, the majority of the apps only runs one core and few are able to run on two cores...and I think none on 4 cores or more...
It's a sure thing that the SD801 was and still is a great processor
jgcaap's cm13 rom is truly awesome and it really feels like stock Google aosp rom running on great phones like the Nexus 5.
Apps may not be optimised but once the OS and source built apps are compiled for arm64 it makes a big difference because whole base OS is 64bit

It's hard to understand the difference between 32 and 64 when you're background isn't as strong. This might help clear it up.

This thing is smoking, the only reason I need to upgrade is I need a microSD slot, but there isn't anything worth getting. I tried 4 different Moto X Pures and they were all SLOW compared to the OPO. Everything took at least .5 seconds to open. I just couldn't use it.
its insane how fast the oneplus one still is. even after 2 years of its release.
mine is still very snappy and lightning fast. performance wise i dont rly see any need for more
The OPO is indeed extremely fast but soon things will drasticly change and the OPO will get destroyed (at least on GPU performance) when android N comes out with the new Vulkan API the adreno 330 does not support :/

Hi Guys. Looking for honest opinions on the Nexus 7 (2013) as I have the Nexus 7 (2012) 32Gb and am looking to upgrade. Want to know if it's worth it? I know the spec is better, but wanted some opinions of people who have used it to advise how it feels, have the touchscreen issues been fixed, and other reported issues with first batches. Many Thanks in advanced
Is an upgrade in every aspect of the first. The screen is sooooo much better and with the new processor there is zero lag. Those were my main two issues with the first and I'm extremely happy with the second one.
>^.^< Sent From Meow HTC One
I'm coming from the ASUS TF300T (10" tablet). Granted, I never used the OG N7, but the TF300T also has a Tegra 3 processor, just clocked a little slower.
Physical differences:
While the change in size was a little bit of an adjustment for me (took like 20mins of use), it quickly grew on to me. I can easily hold it with one hand, as opposed to resting the 10" across my upper arm/wrist. It also fits into the pocket of just about any of my pants, and you would never tell.
Speed vs. Lag:
I can tell you that the difference between the two is night and day. You barely notice the tab slow down if you are installing/updating apps. There were times where the browser would not respond to my pinches, but the navigation bar would still respond as normal. I'm not sure if that's a problem with the tablet, or with Chrome. Might be Chrome, but I haven't used ugh of the other browsers (except for Dolphin, which allows me to save my downloads where I want to before it begins).
Multitasking is awesome. You sometimes forget which apps were running in the background, but 8 different apps later, and the old ones still reload instantly, without any redraw.
Conclusion:
This was my short review of the N7.2. I know that I left out a lot of topics, but I listed the reasons why I switched. Yes, the OG N7 isn't slow, but going forward, you will begin to see where its older hardware begins to lag behind.
The upgrade isn't necessary, in my opinion, but it's worth the money. If it's too much of a sacrifice, then simply wait for something that's way better.

Big upgrade for me. The screen is much better, imo, and I don't have any touchscreen issues.
I like the slightly slimmer form factor, and the speed bump is noticeable to me.
No regrets upgrading from the original N7 here.
Look at it like this:
I am speaking from experience I own both models 2012 and 2013
Tegra 3 still kicks the adreno GPU's butt at games no matter what people try to tell me.Consider this....on the TEGRA N7 you can O.C you GPU to over 600 MHZ...its not the safest but its wayhigher and performs better than the 2013 model which tops out at UNDER 500MHZ.
I have both tablets on the same ROM with the same kernel running at their stock frequencies and tegra delivers better gaming despite the 2012 N7 screen being crappy.
Now... as far as overall smooth performance and usage the new N7 is the clear winner since it runs at higher frequencies and has a better CPU, better screen with higher ppi. You also have more RAM, dual speakers, two cameras, and less bezzel.
They are both great I own N7 2012 32GB wifi and N7 2013 32GB LTE.
I use my old one only for games so memory is full now and use my new one mainly for every thing from emails for work, apps, surfing and even voice calls with groove ip. you can still play games and they look great but I feel tegra is always going to deliver slightly and maybe even better gaming performance with future tegra chips.
hope it helps this is just my take on it
Edit: Don't get me wrong it is deffinitely an upgrade in every sense of the word, and I would say go and upgrade but it really depends what you use it for and if it makes sense to spend the money as well. The new N7 is a great device and I waited for it very much until the ATT version came out on GOOGLE PLAY.. just depends what you want it for that's all

You must get a lot of people trying to tell you otherwise. Come on, the Adreno 320 dumps all over the Tegra 3's GPU both on paper and in benchmarks and pretty sure I've seen some actual game results too. It's also a widely known fact that that NVIDIA has always sucked for mobile GPU's, even still with the Tegra 4.

i have a tegra 3 device and an Xperia Z (adreno 320-1080p).
on the z every game works lagfree on highest graphics, on tegra there are a lot of lags and stutters.
Xperia Z-Vanir AOSP
Whether to upgrade or not is going to come down to personal wants and needs, I think.
My personal experience:
I've spent a total of probably an hour, over the course of a couple visits, playing with the 2013 model at a local store. That was enough device time for me to decide that the upgrade wasn't worth it....for me. I did everything I normally do (or as much as possible with a display model) on the 2013 and came away underwhelmed. For my needs (reading, email, news, calendar) I really couldn't tell the difference between the two (the screen included).
Anyway, my needs are obviously simple, so mileage will vary.
I have upgraded and can say: A huge improvement!
On the 2012 model, display contrast was poor, and text was not completely sharp - so you could read web sites with small text on it, but it was straining for the eyes, especially when the text was not black (e.g grey like in the Play Store or Youtube app).
On the 2013 model, all is very easily readable and eye-friendly (although my Tablet Z has even better contrast).
This alone is worth an upgrade.
I like my new Nexus 7, just as much as I enjoyed the 1st gen I had.
As the old model is an awesome tablet, I managed to sell it easily, and the price to upgrade was minimal, so that was a great incentive to upgrade. The new model has these improvements that I think is worth the upgrade:
A) the faster speed/processor plus the 2MB ram... everything is just slightly less laggy, most notably when multitasking many RAM-heavy apps at once, and switching back and forth between them
B) the dual/stereo speakers is a nice upgrade
C) the lack of any noticible pixels in the screen due to the massive resolution bump-up
D) the form factor of both models is excellent, but the new one is a bit lighter (quite a bit) plus thinner and all around better to handle
E) I don't have a cellphone, so the rear camera is a nice addition
Really though, both are excellent in all regards... I don't play GPU intensive games, so maybe there is a reason to upgrade as well, but I doubt it... If you can sell your 1st one easily, do it... Whoever gets your old one will be getting a killer tablet, and you will be (slightly) future-proofing yourself by having the latest and greatest.

Tegra 4 GPU isn't that bad. It's just a bit better than Adreno 320 but behind 330.
I have the tf300 and now the n7 2013, I think for browsing and other small things they are equally smooth (provided you run 4.3 on the tf300, otherwise it's laggy as hell) but I have to say this screen is beautiful, as good as the HTC one x (which is pretty damn good, just not as good as the HTC one), font in portrait are crisp and easy to read, unlike for instance the tf300 which could really only be used in landscape. Viewing angles are good too unlike for instance the tablet z.

I don't go by benchmarks benchmarks are useless... I play the same game on both and I notice the tegra 3 will play them way better regardless what a piece paper says. I don't wanna try to convince you because it really doesn't do anything for me lol but having both I can see the differences and where one beats the other.
Its very funny you bring up benchmark results though and amusing....I guess you haven't read all the recent stuff about how most OEMS cheat benchmarks but then again some people will believe whatever they're told. I guess if I tell u apples are blue you'd believe it.

Well most of those benchmarks have the exact same workload as playing a game, thus it is impossible for a GPU 3x faster in such benchmarks to be slower in a game, unless there are serious issues with the game itself.
Also, you must be too slow to comprehend what you read, otherwise you'd know that stock Android devices (Nexuses) don't cheat in any way. Therefore how could OEMs cheating in benchmarks affect comparing a Nexus 7 2012 to 2013 in any way whatsoever? Lol you should probably just stop posting you obviously have no idea what you are on about.

It seems like people tend to forget things that aren't specs! I think the current processors are fast enough, and the updates are minor (SD800 vs SD801), so we should wait for 64-bit to see a jump perfomance wise.
The recent picture leaks reveal new speaker design and more rounded edges on the phone. The screen could be better calibrated. Perhaps better resistance to heat aka longer 4k recording. I think there's quite a bit to work on. Wireless charging?
And we should take in concideration that the Z2 came out some 6 months ago!
May be Z2 will has unique features or better camera sensor or better build quality.
And maybe a higher mp front facing camera.

Of you ask me - that's not enough to call it Z3 but OK...we'll see.
BTW, I think we don't have to wait 808 or 810, S805 will be and would be something you will expect now.
Sony built Z1 with new 800, then they built Z2 with overclocked 800 - S801... What now, they will overclock overclocked 800!?!
They, obviously can't follow 6 months cycle...

i agree there is a lot that could be better on the Z2/Z1 -- it seems that Sony is edging towards a perfect iteration of Xperia Omnibalance. the issue is that the Z3 is really what the Z1 should have been!
also hoping that there will be better speakers (but judging from the size of those speaker holes, not holding my breath), better heat dissipation for 4K, and less chance of self-cracking glass. better camera algorithms for HDR, 20MP automatic, etc.
wireless charging? that would be cool, but i'd rather see Sony get a magnetic charging port that doesn't fall out.
SD805 would have been expected, so that's disappointing. but maybe 32GB/64GB variants?

The first iteration might not improve the performance much, but it will continue to get better.
Calling it unnecessary for mobile products is making the same mistake as an IBM Senior Engineer did back in '68.
He said "Yeah, microchips, but what... is it good for?", and as you can see microchips are good for plenty of stuff.
Or another example of the same mistake is Ken Olson, President of Digital Equipment Corp, 1977 whom said "There is no reason anyone in the right state of mind will want a computer in their home."
There is always a reason to make better, cheaper, faster and more mobile computers.
Edit:
Oh, I just noticed you have an iPhone 4, that's why you are ignorant.

If you new a single thing about 64 bit architecture, which you clearly don't, you would know that 64 bit even for computers is questionable.

64 bit SoC's will allow more than 3gb RAM in a phone too, that's probably the more realistic benefit at the minute (IMHO).

I'm considering buying the Z2 now, and it seems it really doesn't matter regarding performance. Am I going to regret not waiting it out?!
OT: I'm assuming the "major" differences are going to be physical and UX. Sony has chosen a bumpy road trying to impress every half year. We really can't expect a revolution each time (and therefore not making the previous model obsolete)

Funny that you didn't have any better argument than "Lol".
But since you think 64bit is unnecessary why are you using 64bit on your computer?
I call it now, your argument is going to be something like "phones are not computers".
It's absolutely true that we don't need or use many things on our PC, phones or tablets...
But that doesn't mean we don't need it, or if you like, it doesn't mean it's not good for industry to grow...
I'm sure I'm not the only one who is not using 100% of any device, that's perfectly normal...
But...
First step will be 64bit architecture then it'll produce less heat, less heat means happy camera users, happy camera users will lead to something else...
That's industry and it's perfectly normal to go forward...
Someone said why QHD screens...well because that will sell devices...
Should they add CRT into Z3 plans?
Yes, we don't need many things but I like to have new and fancy things...
To be honest I don't need 4K recording on my phone but I like to have it
Back to topic...
Totally agree with statement that Sony can't build (not only Sony) and release revolution every six months but it's not cool to sell devices for 1000$, devices that are finished...
Z3 will be finished Z or Z1 - someone said that and I believe that's, sad but, true...

Pure nonsense. I understand meaning of your statements, but this one is just simply not true.
If Sony does refresh their flagship as per EvLeaks tweet, then they're are going to piss off a huge portion of the customer base who bought into the Z2, me included, they seem to be going down the same road that HTC went down, re-releasing minor spec bumped versions of their flagship devices because they didnt cover all angles with the initial devices.
HTC have just won back their customer base and regardless of sales, they have the best Android phone out period, with the M8 they got the formula 100% correct and they are seeing a positive return, Sony has been playing the developers friend and that has opened up doors and they have grown a loyal fan base but they should be careful of this business practice where they do what the did with the Z > Z1.
The life span on a flagship is already down to 11 months maybe and cutting it shorter is going to piss people off and they will take their business elsewhere, while Sony doesnt have the capital expenditure problems that HTC has since Sony is a multi dimentional corporation but this 6 months refresh cycle with see them run at a loss in the long run.
I'm happy with my Z2 and would love for it to be the top dog till the next Mobile World Congress.

Haha...you shouldn't take everything so serious...take a deep breath and remember... We are on forum, not in North Korea...
Everyone has right to day what he/she thinks it's right...
If you really understood what I wanted to say, you won't be writing something like that...
I actually know what I'm saying and don't need to ask Google for opinion.
BTW - don't take everything from Google and wiki for granted...
I just simplified long statement....
If you want or need long version why it would lead to "cooler" cpu and device I'll write that for you...
I'm not talking about higher frequencies, I'm talking about new and better architecture and benefits.
And yeah...It's not problem in cpus, it's problem in OS (to add more RAMs)...
But one lead to other and it'll eventually lead to faster devices, powered with better chipsets, more RAM and less heat...
That all ends with happier users, or grumpy ones, like you...

Seems all these phone companies are just greedy these days, rushing out different models!. The z2 ain't been out for 5 minutes! photo's on a leaked z3 is ridiculous. They shouldn't be allowed to bringft these flagship phones with minor updates so quickly!?
Did you know the s6 doesnt suport HDMI to TV as it is possible with s3,s4,s5 even 3d, note 3, note 4. so you need chromecast also the s5,note 3 and note 4 have longer battery on same usage.
Another fact is that the 32 bit CPU in note 4 has a slightly higher score in futuremark benchmarks as the s6 means its GPU performs worse while both devices have the same screen resolution. The antutu score is just higher because its CPU performs better. The new tegra x1 has even twice the gpu performance as the s6 and will be in some devices this year.
Its not waterproof. Supports no SD card. U cant replace its battery. People report even Rotation issues after wireless Charing. Tw gets laggy as hell. & im pretty sure nobody noticed it that the only reason note 4 had no official lollipop update to make people buy the s6. Even s4 hat the update so dont claim.
It looks good. And is well built. But you dont build a fast car that cant fit its fuel Inside. So this devices is more a test, overpower experiment of samsung. This fall we will see the note 5 with redicilous 4k resolution. And its overpower again just to show that they "can", f(_)cks not given about the consumer & shots been fired from apple. Iphone 6 still almost the same performance with 1/3 of the ram s6 has.
By the way the new TV box by nvidea tegra x1 is already 4k. And it does handle doom3, crysis 3 and unreal engine4 easily. And yes its Android and we will see it on smartphones too.
At the moment note 4 is the better choice because the images will look sharper on it/ due larger screen, you will have more fun with it.
Yeah. I've been thinking double twice before bought the s6, love it. My s5 still rock steady as my backup if my s6 runs out of juice

So you wrote this thread to make people feeling bad who bought one? Ever realised that people actually did their research or not? BTW your s4 has equal score with benchmarking on the same OS version and standard rom? Lel....
Normally I don't reply on these idiotic posts.
But your slanter and crying about the S6 makes me more think like you want one but can't afford it? Correct me if I'm wrong but I seriously can't find a legitimate reason why you should qq so much about something you supposedly not like.
None of the 'downsides' you listed are concerns to me. It's really up to each buyer.
What kind of archaic world do we live in that we have to do HDMI out still? Man buy a chromecast or any miracast dongle on amazon.
S6 owner here, S3 as previous devices, my wife using I9505(search it if u dont know).
my aunty and uncle use N3, my best friends N4, this listed phone are all phone that i serviced phone consistancely, regarding what i know so far, N3 had quite less lag on default TW, only lag in gallery as everyone know(only whn its a lot of photo inside) and i dont see N4 having higher score in any benchmark app comparing to my S6, yet S6 TW rom really have the light apps vs N4...
i already installed a lot apps on my phone and i still running smooth, no heat up issues, battery last long enough as only 2550mAh vs S4 2600, SoT 5hrs vs 2.3hrs, 14nm vs 28nm, 50fps(1440p) vs 38fps(1080p) on antutu benchmark test.
Yet.. google officially claim that bug on android 5.0 will be solve in android 5.1. Im living in Malaysia, S4 i9500 already on Lollipop (no doubt), N3 also already got its Lollipop update last week.
ram vs performance, did anyone say that ram mean performance, what do you mean by almost the same performance with 1/3ram they got. Comparing different platform is quite not fair as u should know its different in many point, take a window mobile n compare then?
android can play in many ways, its not like old time, 3GB of ram, multitasking is not a problem in S6. i dont think apple can do it... (jail breaken ipad can use split screen, try it and u will know why ram so big in S6). even my S3 got better ram vs ipad2.
In short, that up to everyone's point of view. i love S6 camera, the design of the phone. even i lost adcard support, but usb otg available for all android phone, i lost change able battery, but i just need to charge below 1Hour, because 1Hour give 90% Battery. With minimum 5Hours of SoT daily usage is good enough for me, including 2hours on CC or SW(both online Games).
the s6 is stop gap phone for me, waiting for the note5 because i broke my previous phone. The S6 is a very nice phone though, nicest one I ever had
could please some mod close this idiot topic that steals space to other ppl n devs, thanks
One thing you can't level at this phone is lag. TW is still perfectly snappy on mine since I ditched Nova again for it. Apps reload but as long as you have animations on default, by the time the app is on screen it's reloaded.
The screen issues I have were present on Note 4 anyway.
As for using it with a TV, not interested.

The 2 things I put in bold in your message just kill your credibility.
My S6 is full of apps, rooted and customized like hell, yet I've never seen it lag (not even a bit, so the "like hell" seems completely bias).
About the benchmark, you really want to chose the single benchmark that suits what you want to say to prove your point?
What about the fact that every single other GPU benchmark (GFXBench,...) give is completely in favor of the S6 (by far)? Yeah I guess you don't really want to talk about those
What is OP trying to achieve here? Theres already a thread about things like that.

I am absolutely not taking sides with the OP here, but I have to say that I was a bit annoyed that Samsung removed the HDMI out for the S6.
Serious question: I often go on holiday to a house which has no wifi, can I somehow still use chromecast to stream films from the S6 to the TV in the house (the TV has HDMI ports)? I used to to this all the time with the MHL cable on my other android phones and it worked incredibly well.

Kimovil is a great site in terms of being an index of phones and tablets. However, the information provided is often lackluster and sometimes even wrong, unfortunately. I find devicespecifications.com and china-prices.com to be more reliable.
Got mine yesterday... it's like a toy VS the Mi Mix... performances are very poor and the UI is a stock, at all with just a few customizations.
Got mine a few days ago... the Mi Mix is indeed a better phone in every way but it also cost 2-3 times more.
That said, like many of the Chinese phones out there today, it advertises a lot, delivers mediocre performance and features.
For the money, its a nice looking phone, totally stock android.
Terrible camera, very heavy (may be the heaviest smartphone I've ever used).
Slippery as heck - how on earth can any company release a phone especially one that is as hard to hold as the Alpha and not have any cases available for them??
After years of using so many flagships ie Galaxy Note 3, 5, S7 Edge, Nexus 6P, Pixel, Huawei Mate 9m P9, LG G4 V10 V20, Mi Mix, as well as tons of Japanese market models (I live in Japan), I've been trying out some of these more budget friendly models and as you all know they are not all created equally but all their manufacturers try to market unbelievable features for the price.
While they perform admirably in some cases I've learned to deal with many bugs, QA issues, and others surprises.
So far the Maze isn't bad especially for the money. It has its quirks and bugs but along with the other phone I'm using as dual daily drivers now (Umidigi Z1 Pro)... I have been getting by... lol.

How does it surprise you the phone is heavy? All information was readily available.
I agree that the camera performance isn't that great - need to mess around with manual settings to get proper shots or wait for further OTA updates (didn't they promise Android O on Facebook? We'll see what happens with that).
Should the cases have been ready before launch? Yes.
In Maze's defense, you can say it's still a new company - the Alpha is just the second product in the company's portfolio. Considering being a new player, Maze has done well so far and what I like is the company's isn't pushing 2-3 new phones every other month, which - hopefully - means the current portfolio of products will receive OTA updates and be maintained.

Thanks for the reply!
I never said the weight was a surprise. I'm just stating my observation. It is the heaviest phone I have used and its slippery!
For a new company the quality is actually very good... some other names who have been around longer could learn a thing or two.
As I said, I'm getting by with it as my daily... though would feel much better if I had a case!
Have you had issues with the adaptive brightness? I'm hoping its something they can fine tune in the next update.... slow to respond to lighting changes if at all.... and in pitch darkness it still does not go all the way down.

By the way thanks to Palm Trees for taking the time to put up all those tests. It really helps people get a non biased view of performance.
I hope you don't mind if I add a few more observations that people might find useful since there is so little info on the web besides the promotional press.
- Notifications work on the Alpha - as some of you can probably relate to, not all phones deliver notifications timely and reliably - but the Alpha does. (running my Z1 Pro at the same time sometimes see the same notifications come 10 min later or not at all)
- Bluetooth is reliable and stays connected. Currently paired to my LG Watch Urbane 2nd and its solid.
- GPS is acceptable which is more than many phones can provide (ie I had a Oneplus 3t before, and the GPS was garbage... slow to connect and could not stay connected and totally inaccurate - which is too bad cause I loved the 3t). The Alpha GPS locks on but there is a bit of drift here and there even in wide open circumstances. I test phones vigorously for GPS as the tall buildings and expressway ramps in Tokyo prove to be a great challenge and at the same time I test them in the suburbs where I live and there is much less interference. (honestly the Umi Z1 Pro has really good GPS!)
-Wifi range is below average. I'm 1m from my router and can't even get full bars. 10-15m away and throughput already starts failing.... not good.

Question is when will cases come out??
I have a hard time leaving a new toy on the bench so I matched the dimensions to another phone here in Japan and am using that case though the camera lenses are covered (which is fine cause the camera is not usable for me anyway).

anyone have any insight into whether this phone will get rooted soon? does root have to be developed for each phone separately or can they be ported over etc.?

Just an information for all who wants to flash the firmware or wants to port a TWRP recovery, the stockrom you'll find on needrom as maze alpha it's wrong!
This is doogee mix firmware!
Some stupid joke for the uploader!? Don't know.
I wrote an email to mazemobile about the wrong firmware an needrom.
They answered, that they don't upload this rom themselves! Maybe they will upload the stockromm on mazemobile.com but they don't know when....It's hard work..... Lol
So it will not possible to port a TWRP and impossible to root the maze alpha next time!

Guys,
Anyone knows how to fix the very low intensity of the vibration. I can't feel it in my pocket and I miss calls...
Anyone succeeded in rooting the device and trying to increase the motor speed?
Thanks...
RE: Maze Alpha bugs (vibration, etc)
Maze claims that volume, brightness and battery issues have been resolved in the latest official build (08/16). Perhaps vibration issues have been fixed too, as Maze claims other "optimizations". This build should also have the August security patches:

BTW: Maze Alpha cases are all over eBay now. Wish someone would make something other than the checkerboard pattern... just a matter of being patient...
Would you say that the Samsung Galaxy S9 is "fast" in day-to-day use? A higher rating indicates that you think the Samsung Galaxy S9 exhibits fantastic performance. Like, is it as fast as your tears when you watch The Titanic?
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
Home button delays the same as in Galaxy S8, that's why you don't remove the physical one
I have owned the exynos variant for about 2 weeks. I use it having decreased the animation time and there is absolutely no stutter. I've come for the s7 which is no slouch and can feel that this is the most refined experience yet. You can't go wrong. I can't lie I had 'terrible' battery for about 1 and half weeks. But it's much better now.

Definitely no sloucher in gaming performance. Does not lack performance whatsoever, can handle all games including the Honkai Impact 3 at max settings with no fps drops. Its basically the second best gaming performer right now outperformed by the SD845. but although battery life is not bad, apparently SD845 is better in every way. This year i'd actually consider the SD845. What device do you currently own? Because that way i might advise you wait for the S10 where they will actually improve efficiently a lot with the new 7nm chips.
Edit: Don't get me wrong, i love the S9 even though i owned the S7 previously. The features it includes such as the Dolby Atmos supported stereo speakers, headphone jack and the great experience Touchwiz offers in my opinion. Touchwiz just looks better than stock android which otherwise is boring in my opinion and other manufacturers are still refining their experience. And if you don't like touchwiz? Get a launcher or even change your theme to your liking. Hopefully Samsung will increase the amount of software updates due to Project Treble support too.
It's just that depending on your device and its state, i'd wait for the S10 which i reckon will be the 'holy grail' (unless they somehow screw it up). By then performance wouldn't be a issue whatsoever and battery life should increase and hopefully capacity too.
Any more questions feel free to ask. I'm willing to help.

Woah thank you alot! Im having this kind of feeling where I am dissatisfied with the s9, especially with exynos, yet you made me calm. I got s5 from Dubai with Snapdragon which is surprising since SD is only available in US and in China, and this year, I hope that my model going to have on 13th of April is SD too. Im really excited! Anyways, coming from s5 to s9 is considerably a "good" upgrade, isnt? My screen is dying and it cant wait for s10 anymore

Most definitely, an upgrade from the s5 to s9 will be huge.
What i'd recommend you do to get around 4 and a half hours of screen on time is the following.
Turn off location services. Or revoke app permissions for any app that doesn't require it. Including Google maps because for some reason it tracks where you are constantly. That is if you prefer it on for Samsung find my phone.
Get a dark theme. And and try to keep your wallpapers dark once you've enabled it because for oled screens, only the required pixels turn on. I currently use Black_Edition_V2
Turn off NFC (unless you pay using your phone)
Go to Wifi, advanced (click the 3 dots on top right) and enable Wifi power saving mode. and disable turn on wifi automatically.
Enable power saving mode (Only turn on decreased 10% screen brightness, don't limit CPU or any of that.) Screen is super bright already so you won't notice a difference but apparently you get an extra hour of stand by time.
Turn on Dolby Atmos (it's off automatically for some reason)
Depending on your usage or preference, disable or enable always on display. I personally have it on a schedule.
Give it just over a week or so to learn your usage behaviour and once a week or so for the first month, discharge your phone fully and recharge fully.
Also what i'd recommend is turning on developer mode and putting animator duration scale to 0.5x. Your phone will feel much faster, and it'll be able to keep up so don't worry. This is your preference.
I might have missed some things, but this is what the basic changes are. But compared to the S5, it will be a beast. With all the android phones out there having notches, i reckon the S9 is still the best all in one device!
Otherwise enjoy your phone!!! :good:
