Dears ,
After using the S5 Dual SIM for a month now , i am not satisfied as battery isn't that good and i don't feel that the device is good enough , after using the G2 for a while it's very hard to move to another phone
so i am thinking in selling the S5 and get a Note 4 as i was alwyas a fan of Note family and owned Note 2 & Note 3 and they was one of the best i ever used .
But confused , Which one shall i get the Snapdragon or Exynos ?! the Exynos supposed to be 64-bit but it was disabled in Kitkat and can't find info if it was enabled with the Lollipop update or not
we always choose the Snapdragon because it's supported more than the Exynos , but it's not the issue for me all i care about the performance in general which is better ?!
So please advise which one shall i go for ?!
Thanks

They did not add 64-bit support in Lollipop on the Exynos note 4 and probably will never do since the S6 will be their first flagship that will support it...
get the one you want it doesn't really matter much...
exynos may offer better benchmark performance(+1-2k in antutu, that's what some exynos owners are claiming anyway) but they don't have Cyanogenmod/AOSP nor they will have it any time soon. which means you'll basically be stuck with touchwiz based roms forever. if you don't care about it then go for the exynos but as an android lover myself I love the fact that I can just flash whatever I want when I want.
Take a look at reviews and make your choice: http://anandtech.com/show/8718/the-samsung-galaxy-note-4-exynos-review
Basically if you dont give a s**t about custom ROMs (like me) and would rather choose better performance (and similar architecture to the future S6) pick the Exynos.
If you care about performance you must go for the Exynos.
Get which ever is in your country and carrier, unless you plan on running benchmarks all day, it really doesn't matter which you get.
Allow me to steal your thread for a second. I'm also interested, and I found a pretty good deal for a refurbished AT&T N4.
I do care about performance, but I care more about rooting and being able to install custom roms.
What's the best model for that?
Thanks!

Both have root and custom roms, unless you want CM12 now I would go for the Exynos.

I wish I knew. I wanted to order one real fast today with overnight shipping from Amazon to use while my Nexus 6 is being replaced but there are so many models its confusing. I literally want the exact same thing you are asking for, ATT LTE with an unlocked bootloader and custom ROMs. :crying:
SnapDragon FTW !
Still confused throw Note 4 models !! i don't know why Samsung do that !!! S H F !! What the hell is that
What's the difference between Snapdragon versions to to have 2 models !! F and S
What's the difference between Exynos versions to to have 2 models !! C and H
!!!
Exynos 910C LTE, 910H UMTS model, Snapdragon 910F international model, the S i don't now. Bye the way i would buy the Exynos again. It simply has the newer, better soc. It keeps cooler and runs stays longer fast. Snapdragon is throttling more often.
What is the best one to get in the UK? I'm on EE network if that matters and I need 4g/LTE
Thanks
Edit-also worth noting that I will want to be able to root and uproot if I need to use Samsung warranty down the road.
any one here with 910C version can give me his feedback about the device ?!
Had both the F and C models. Exynos is faster and cooler, Snapdragon is a little bit better on battery. As I charge my phone every night, I choose speediness over 30-45mins of extra SOT time.

I am currently owning the Galaxy S6 but I really want to sell it and buy the s7 just because i want to use microsdcards again and whatherproofness is also very cool for me
so something what i really care about is development for the device wich i will buy...
i am pritty sure that the Qualcomm S7 will get Cm builds maybe also official builds but i live in germany where the Qualcomm variant is not sold. so i will need to stick with the exynos version.
the galaxy s6 also has CM aviable with its exynos processor... since now all Galaxy S (exynos) devices got cm in any time:
- Galaxy S2
- Galaxy S3
- Galaxy S4 exynos
- Galaxy S5 exynos (very buggy build tho)
- Galaxy S6
what do u think about cm on Galaxy S7
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s7/how-to/developer-discussion-custom-kernels-t3338351
No custom kernel thus far.
BTW, S2~6 are official builds?
From what I gather, Samsung has nearly zero motivation to contribute to open source and custom roms, unlike Motorola, Sony, HTC, etc. Which makes it kinda hard for devs to support their phones.
If you have an inside contact at Samsung, by all means let them know.
It has been discussed on so many topics already... CM (or any aosp type of rom for that matter) is pretty much impossible on the Exynos, even if someone gets something to boot, it will always be super broken and full of bugs. As for the Snapdragon variant.. CM should be very possible I guess but the problem is, it seems like every variant that comes with the snapdragon cpu has their bootloaders locked to hell... so... Until someone figures out a way to unlock the bootloaders... No luck there either. If your reason for buying an S7 is development and AOSP projects... I suggest you buy some other phone.

the fact ist that they have said the same for galaxy s3 exynos and galaxy s6 exynos
both have pritty much stable builds.
i am using aosp or cm roms only when the phone gets outdated and getting no update from samsung.
so this isnt that important to me

no it's not usable, sorry. even 2D graphics are broken in it. Unless Samsung has a change of heart and releases the full source for Exynos phones, forget it. And Samsung having is a change of heart is never gonna happen since almost all their customers don't care about root/custom Roms. The only hope is someone figuring out how to unlock the bootloaders on the Qualcomm variants

This is the problem every year with Samsung phones. It is not Samsung Mobile division that does not release the Exynos sources, there are other divisions of Samsung which will simply not allow the Exynos sources to be released (for newer devices)

Best bet would be someone found a hack on Snapdragons to root the phones and then install custom ROM.
For Exynos I think we can safely say goodbyes. Anything else is wishful thinking. Sorry to say that but I think that's true. (or you can start a 100-day hunger strike in front of the Samsung HQ and see how it goes.)

Not to mention that the radio firmware is probably bugged by the Chinese government.

It has 128 GB internal storage and Type C cables thats an plus in my book.
I have this feeling where i really just like sansumg's phones hardware and in special it's new look, but then is the fact that my S5(exynos) still stuck in 5.0 bugged as hell rom and there still no 6.0. The Qualcomm counter part have great CM support but there still nothing for the S7.
I will probably have to get either a nexus(2016) or a Huawei p9 which looks really nice too, also I'm thinking about the HTC 10 mmm.
Hi guys i just want to start a discussion.
Just an easy question what would be your biggest reason to leave samsung?
I love the samsungs design of the phones but that isnt my reason te leave samsung my biggest reason is the update policy it just sucks.
And if you would ask me what phone i want to buy its the first NOKIA P1 that will come out this year. I hope it will look like this.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lVkLj0xBLIk
Updates
Update policy, like anyone else.
The only thing remotely which would make me move away or not consider a Samsung device is if they release another exynos only device.
in the current time i won't be leaving samsung, the only reason to leave them is if they release a device with small battery, bad camera, bad screen, build quality.....these are really hard to happen ( battery?!)....the updates make me angry but still....sacrificing best screen, camera, build, beauty just for the updates isn't a reason. also, look at HTC, they started rolling 7.0 to the M9 then stopped, there is a lot of problems, LG isn't moving anywhere, nexus has bugs because they get the updates before fixing them....that's why i prefer to have a "late" perfect update than a "early" buggy update
Still dont know what is up with samsung dont they see everybody is hating their update policy why the hell they dont do somthing about that thats the big question to samsung.
And what very weird is that they release an update for the older devices like Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Note Edge and Galaxy S5 security patch of januari and we are still stuck on the older patch just cant understand what are doing in that building do they even talk to each other?
I'm very curious what they will do with the update i hope its not a simple update with Nougat with the interface of MM and nothing more like they did with the s5 they have MM but with the lollipop interface -.-

All depends on what radio bands it supports, there's no news of any new exynos socs so far and the phone is not far away from release and samsung have bought a lot of snapdragon socs from reports so it very possibly might just be a snapdragon device only.

Come on man, apart from Google and nexus phones, maybe one plus, no other manufacturer will give upto date and regular updates. I'd rather have samsung take their time and do the update right, rather than rush it and have a tonne of bugs an then there will be even more complaints. In the past month many manufacturers had to recall their nougat update because there was bugs.

well i hope their is no bugs at the moment for 7.0 atleast for now otherwise its gonna take samsung another half year to release it :silly:
The biggest issue IMO is lack of international support. I purchased an S7 (all legit) while in Dubai, and had an issue with the screen (AMOLED burn in). Canadian Samsung refused to acknowledge the product because of said lack of int'l warranty. When I contacted Dubai, they said the model was made in Africa, so I would have to travel to South Africa (only Africa Samsung warranty location) to get my device serviced. I usually buy my phones second hand, when the price plummets and the 12 month warranty has expired, which is why I regret my S7 purchase. Oh well, Samsung has lost my business.
When I was buying phone bother me knox counter and lack of warranty after root. But there are many cases that warranty is approved in EU even after root.
I dont have really other complains, it's first time that I dont want to change phone after first year of use because everything works perfectly, especially with xtrastolite ROM.
Excellent display, camera, build quality, SoC, even battery is enough good for me.
Update policy is same for most companies, Samsung is not exception, also I dont expect some major changes and features in nougat.

No, you should read it again, it specifies that basically all Snapdragon Samsung, Huawei and Nokia devices sold in the US aren't compatible, all the others are.
No ROMs yet because TWRP isn't ready.

Why is there almost no custom roms for the lg35 here compared to the lg v30 which has a lot?

No. They are two totally different phone series. V35 is more related to V40 and G8 internally than V30. The G8/V35/V40 are Snapdragon 845 "Judy" phones. V30 is "Joan" Snapdragon 835.
Why no ROMs? Took too long to get root, too hard, and V35 initially was only released for AT&T in U.S. Developers moved on to easier phones, distributed more widely.
I'd add a few more factors that stacked the deck against development for the V35.
It had a more geographically limited release than its siblings, the V40 and G7. Europe was not on the list and those phones are BL unlockable out of the box. Those phones really prime developer activity. The release in the US was by AT&T, Google, and later Amazon so limited there, too.
There are impending 3G shutdowns coming in NA so making phone calls will require VoLTE. Dev's have yet to reverse engineer the LG radio interface so that VoLTE can be supported on AOSP roms. Rooted stock is where I am for this reason and the same probably applies to anyone with LG V and G models soon enough, EoY 2020 for Verizon subscribers.
Lastly, there was the whole A/B slot transition with removal of the recovery partition.
Changes to TWRP had to be made.
Unless there are serious changes are forthcoming, this is my last LG phone. IMO, no A10 is the biggest strike against the V35.

Wait, is this confirmed? I thought they were at last eventually going to release A10 for the NA firmwares, is this not the case anymore? Edit: btw, I second the sentiment, this is my first LG phone but also my last. Their stock OS is kind of ackward in weird ways... it's not very polished. I came from a cheap lowmid Huawei phone and their OS was still very polished when compared to this LG. Huawei knew where to add "proprietary" utilities and where not to. The upgrade was still worth it because of the performance boost though.

It seems unlikely after so much time that an NA version of A10 will be released by LG. It is kind of moot at this point. Thanks to @cloud1250000 it is possible to flash the Korean A10 rom. Just follow his/her guide to localize to NA, CA or probably other regions. It works great!
