Has anyone been able to add the Verizon Travelpass to their Pure? I was told I can only add the normal monthly international plan, not the daily Travelpass plan.

I couldn't, not on-line and neither could customer service or tech support. MXPE is not a "verizon" phone, so they can't work out a way to add that feature, apparently.
AFAIK TravelPass is just a rate plan, so why would it matter what phone you use?
I had this question before, and I just used two weeks ago while in Canada. Here's what you do:
1. You need a Verizon-sold phone (I had an old Droid Maxx phone)
2. put your Moto X SIM card into that phone
3. then go to MyVerizon app or website
4. Add TravelPass feature (international option)
5. Put the SIM card back into Moto X
You will not get a confirmation text while traveling. But, you will get a text near 24 hours saying that Travelpass will be renewed for the following day. Remember to have data roaming on since you will be using another carrier's service.
Agree that the above process works and is what I plan on doing for my next international adventure (I've got the 2013 Moto X Verizon Dev edition for that).
Thanks for the replies, do you know if Travelpass works with the old unlimited data plans?

I've done this prior to going to Mexico on Wednesday using my wifes Verizon Moto X 2Gen. I'm going to try it everything looks good on the mobile app, it shows that my phone number has travel pass added to it. on the website it has “ECom Service SKU” as the name of my phone but it doesn't show that I have it added on the website, only on the phone “my Verizon app”. I switched the SIM to my son's Nexus 6 which is a Verizon accepted phone and without doing anything it showed that it already had it added I took my sim back out of the Nexus 6 put it back in my Moto X and again it showed that I didn't have the daily option to add it. but I always go to my Verizon app on the phone and it shows my phone number has the travel pass added to it. Both my wife's second edition Moto X and my pure Edition have the travel past added to them (My Pure Ed only shows in the MyVerizon Mobile App)and they are both going with us and both have the travel pass active I will see what happens.
Thanks, please let us know!
Thanks jdfrye, does your account with your Pure Edition have a tiered plan or unlimited data plan?

I used to have UDP but let it go after I owned my own devices.
Now I have the "Verizon plan" 18GB=$100 X 4 Lines $80 =$180
Was in Mexico yesterday on a cruise. My Moto x Pure had the Travel pass added via using my wife moto x 2gen with a sim swap. With my wife's phone also with the Travel pass added we both received a text when we arrived in Mexico saying the the Travel pass was a option. We both had connection to data and voice. She was connected to the telcel, I was to movistar. I couldn't change to telcel manually but later in the day it switched by itself. Used voice and data all day long. The next morning woke up in long beach,CA. We both received a text stating "TravelPass 24 hour session is almost up. Another daily session will be triggered by Int'l Talk, Text or Data".
I think everything worked out but we'll see with my billing. I will post my billing result when I get it.
If they try to screw me I have screen shots of the Travel pass added to my line in the mobile app with my device xt1575 next to the description.
Thanks, since I have unlimited data, Travelpass was not available to me, even using my old LG G2, I had to add the $25 international travel plan to my account. Used it for 4 days and removed it, they refunded me $12 based on what I didn't use.

I used this in February when I traveled to Mexico. Added it over the phone with no problem at all...

Hi, I pre-order the Note 3 the end of September and when I did that I knew that my unlimited data plan would be lost, Verizon did offer me the 6GB Max data plan which I agreed to. So, I received the phone on the 10th, and it came with a preinstalled sim, which I removed and used my sim from my Galaxy Nexus. A few days later I checked my Verizon online account and I see the new Note 3 listed which I expected, but what I did not expect was to see unlimited data still there. Now my month ends on the 6th, so I'm wondering if it will change over on November 7 (when my new cycle starts), or if it hasn't changed by now that it will remain unlimited? I guess my question is when does the change of data supposed to occur?
Thanks!
Mine is the same way. I figured it would switch over whenever the next billing period opens.

Just an update, my new month started today and I am still unlimited. So it seems that using my sim card from my Galaxy Nexus (which the book said to do anyway) allowed me to keep my unlimited data. Now I wonder if they can catch it and switch me over.
There was a glitch that enabled us to keep unlimited...it actually happened twice .. I got on the second round. News is Verizon will honor those that got in.

This happened to me as well. I preordered the note 3 on VZW about a week before it released, took the 6gb edge plan to replace my unlimited data, and everything was normal for the first few weeks. I used the SIM that came with the note, I didn't use the one from my old thunderbolt. About a week ago, I looked on my Verizon account online and noticed I had unlimited data again! I'm hoping that I'll be able to keep it. It even states on my bill that they removed it and then added it back on.
Just thought I'd post this here cause I have a Moto X and just upgraded another phone to a Moto X on Verizon.
January this year a line on the account (2GB/mo data plan) was due for an upgrade. I had them upgrade to a Moto X (via Best Buy) for $1 (+$30 upgrade fee). Once activated, I swapped phones. Purchased Developer Edition at full price, sold the $1 Moto X, and ended up with a Developer Edition Moto X for like $100 and kept my unlimited data plan while the other family member got an upgrade (my old Galaxy Nexus) from their Droid X.
Today... because another family member can't take care of their phone and the other family member used a crappy charger with the Galaxy Nexus causing the phone to flip out (touch screen problems?), I decided I'd give up my unlimited for the 6GB/mo plan. That'd let the one get the Galaxy Nexus which is better than their broken device, the other to get an upgrade (repayment for letting me steal their upgrade), and I'd be back to being able to get new devices with the subsidies if I wanted to.
Called a local Verizon store and they guaranteed me that by transferring my upgrade to the other line I'd lose the unlimited and get the 6GB/mo plan. Called the Verizon mother-ship and again was told I'd lose the unlimited data plan.
Also, for fun, the data usage analysis in the My Verizon account is more accurate that what the Verizon sales reps see. Last month I used 6.22GB according to my account page. Sales rep said it was 8.4GB. His reasoning that the account analysis is more accurate is that other lines on account that have 2GB/mo were showing 2GB used whereas his screen was showing 3GB yet we weren't getting charged the overages. Not that this means much, but... perhaps when Verizon says they're going to start throttling the top users, assuming they're using their numbers, this could mean they're saying you use more than you actually do, therefore, you might be getting throttled when in reality you may be below that cutoff.
Anyway. Knowing my fate, I let it happen. 2 hours later my family member calls me saying somehow I still have unlimited data. I called the rep and asked and he said he didn't know how it happened. Guy said I got lucky or something. He also brought up the closed loop-hole of upgrading a dumb phone line, swapping devices, and putting a dumb phone back on. He said that you should still be able to upgrade a dumb phone to smart, swap devices, and keep your unlimited plan.
Long story short, it seems like if you're buying devices at full cost to keep unlimited data and you're sitting on an update another family member could use, you apparently won't lose your unlimited data by "renewing" your contract. At least that's what happened to me today.
There is a whole write up on this posted here. There are some specific things that need to be done to not lose unlimited data. I am not surprised the morons at Verizon told you your unlimited would be lost. My buddies wife works for verizon . I told her about the swap upgrade and not lose unlimited and she told me I would lose unlimited. Funny everyone else on here isn't losing unlimited. Its a loophole and Verizon wants to keep it to a minimum but it can be done. I still have my upgrade in my back pocket waiting for the next maxx to see if it is worth the upgrade or to wait another year.

So I went to a Sprint store in Los Angeles today looking for a Nexus 6, and they said that they had a couple of units in stock but couldn't sell it to me if I wasn't a Sprint customer. So I offered to sign a new line up with them on the no contract no credit check plan if they sold it to me. He agreed and I walked out with the device and a $60 plan for the service. I called customer service and cancelled my plan immediately and was told I would get a $1.80 (or something like that) bill for the prorated service. I have a Note 4 and a Droid Turbo (that I hate) so I had VZW make my Turbo Nano sim card active, took it out, and dropped it in my Nexus and it worked just fine. Strangely it does show the VZW service logo and on my account it doesnt show the device as being registered to Verizon Wireless, but it works just fine. LTE, Calls, etc. It still does not do Voice and Data strangely (not sure if thats on all carriers) but the phone works fine if you have an activated Nano Sim to swap. Just wanted to share with everyone who may want to take this route and are desperate enough for the device to pay the premium that Sprint is charging.
Where in La??? I'm in Oc and been looking at every sprint store down here for a Nexus 6 and no store has it
I've posted in another thread but I dont get the voice+data issue on VZW. My Note 3 does voice + data just fine....

Coming from Note 3 to Nexus 6 here. Walked into a Sprint store here on the Eastside of Seattle (Redmond WA) and purchased the Nexus 6 directly from Sprint. Because they require all devices to be activated on a Sprint account before leaving the store, I had to activate a new account but Sprint T&Cs allow you to cancel within 72 hours without paying an activation fee (Can't post a link due to low post count but you can Google: Sprint T&C cancellation). Just got off the phone with Sprint to cancel and verified that the only amounts due on my "final bill" are the cost of the device minus sales tax paid at time of purchase ($648) and 2 days of service with applicable taxes and fees (about $10).
Confirmed working here on VZW. Just popped in pre-activated VZW nanoSIM, booted up and waited 5 mins for phone to activate on VZW network. If you do not have existing nanoSIM, just grab an IMEI off an eligible device (I used a spare iPhone 5c sitting on my desk at work) and call VZW Customer Support with the ICCID of the SIM. Whole process took less than 10 minutes, including hold time.
With regard to simultaneous Voice and Data, I can confirm that these DO NOT work on the Nexus 6 but did work on my previous Note 3. It sucks but I am willing to make the trade-off for a completely unlocked and uninhibited device. Rumor has it that this should be remedied soon once VZW activates VoLTE on this phone (also called "Advanced Calling 1.0") sometime early 2015.

It will not be able to do both at the same time until the device is approved for Advanced Calling 1.0. New Moto X and Turbo are impacted with this same experience as well.
They have the sprint n6 on amazon but it says its locked to sprint would I be able to use this on verizon, not sure how the one they have on amazon would be any different than what they are selling in the stores.
I bought my Nexus at Sprint. I took the ACTIVE micro sim out of my Note 2, cut it down to nano size with scissors by using the Sprint sim as a template. Stuck the cut down Verizon sim into the Nexus, turned it on, and had Verizon service in about 2 mintues. Easy.
I'd like to see if any of you with the Verizon "More Everything" plan will get to keep your "Month2Month" $25 discount when you switch to the 2015 Moto X. This was one of the issues we had with the Nexus 6, prior to VZW white listing all IMEIs.
There is confirmation that the new phone with work on Verizon and it appears that "Advanced Calling" works as well. Their new BYOD policy states you can bring any CDMA phone with no contract. I'm hoping that I dont have to switch to the full "no contract" plan, as it is actually a little more expensive than my current plan.
So, once you-all start getting your phones, can someone confirm that you are keeping the $25 discount please? Thanks!
As long as you have the discount already, it will work. Even a new customer who brings this device will get it right away, since there is no device being subsidized by Big Red.

My wife has been getting a discount for a job she worked 5 years ago and was just recently asked to update job info. Definetly not on top of things vzw.
But as stated in post above I think you will be fine until or if you make a plan change.

The month to month ($25) discount is different than the employer based discount (usually a percentage of the data plan).
With the Nexus 6 (prior to white listing), you would loose the $25 discount on the More Everything plan because the IMEI's were not in VZW's system. This didn't seem to have an affect on the employer discount. I'm guessing with their new policy that all will be well, but I'd like someone to confirm that has this plan and the new Moto X Pure.
It should be fine my contract ended yesterday and I have it applied already. Swapping Sim card shouldn't matter.
When I get mine I'll let you know otherwise it will be a lot of arguing with VZW

From what I saw with the Nexus 6, you should be fine. I'd bet you can even get the "out of contract" discount for not ordering a new device under contract.
I'm still curious if anyone is having issues with the Month2Month discount on the More Everything (Edge) plan...

The last phone I purchased directly from VZW was a full-price Note 2. To upgrade the phone, I went to VZW website, selected my full-price Note 4 and attempted to check out. However, to complete the checkout, VZW required me to make changes to my plan where continuing the Unlimited Data feature was not an option. Manager at the local VZW outlet confirmed the same; they can't sell me a full-price phone without changing the plan.
Had to purchase my VZW, carrier unlocked phones from Amazon.
well that's bs. good thing is it seems more companies are making universal phones that can be activated anywhere... like the nexus 6, and the new moto x and new nexuses comin out... meaning, I'll never again buy a phone from Verizon itself with their ugly branding. yay!

I wonder if the new phone came with a new Sim? When I upgraded last, the procedure to keep unlimited is to toss new Sim (burn with fire then microwave) and install old Sim for first activation.
Funny, I just ordered my phone on the 13th and it did nothing to my unlimited data. Bought from the Verizon Web site. It was a certified pre owned.I have been out of contract with unlimited data for years.

maybe you just had bad luck in store.. we all know how corporate verizon employees aren't the most truthful people.
just asked my old boss who runs his own retailer... they can sell off contract no problem. it's like when you goto verizon and buy off contract, they still want your number and stuff.. but it's like, i'm just buying a phone full price, you don't need to know anything about me... yet again, another reason why I never buy from corporate verizon and only use retailers.

I bought one 3 days ago and kept unlimited data no problem. I would call CS and complain LOUDLY. A few months back I had a sim card go bad and when I took it in to get replacement, the rep changed my plan to 2 GB. Month and a half later I get an email about overuse of data and when I called in and explained what happened they gave unlimited back to me. She said within 30 days it is much easier to correct, but, they had to put in a service request for mine, which, took about 2-3 business days to reinstate. Good luck!
I can't see a corporate store do this, so must be a franchise store to screw up like that.
The people in the stores have been told to do what ever it takes to cheat you out of the unlimited data, that is first hand knowledge from a store manager in the family. As far as the phones go, you should not have been able to buy the phones without changing your plan, all phones from verizon are full price no more upgrades and require changing your plan, wether you pay cash or on the little deal on a monthly basis.
How about buying an unlocked compatible phone from Amazon or elsewhere? Will they try to force you out of the unlimited data plan to activate?

not if you're buying full price. I got the new moto x.. has nothing to do with your plan. it's just like buying any product on amazon. click buy, bam, done. throw your sim in, and it activates. verizon had absolutely nothing to do with the process and I love it.
