[Q] Did I accidentally keep my unlimited data? - Verizon Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, I pre-order the Note 3 the end of September and when I did that I knew that my unlimited data plan would be lost, Verizon did offer me the 6GB Max data plan which I agreed to. So, I received the phone on the 10th, and it came with a preinstalled sim, which I removed and used my sim from my Galaxy Nexus. A few days later I checked my Verizon online account and I see the new Note 3 listed which I expected, but what I did not expect was to see unlimited data still there. Now my month ends on the 6th, so I'm wondering if it will change over on November 7 (when my new cycle starts), or if it hasn't changed by now that it will remain unlimited? I guess my question is when does the change of data supposed to occur?
Thanks!

Mine is the same way. I figured it would switch over whenever the next billing period opens.

Just an update, my new month started today and I am still unlimited. So it seems that using my sim card from my Galaxy Nexus (which the book said to do anyway) allowed me to keep my unlimited data. Now I wonder if they can catch it and switch me over.

There was a glitch that enabled us to keep unlimited...it actually happened twice .. I got on the second round. News is Verizon will honor those that got in.

This happened to me as well. I preordered the note 3 on VZW about a week before it released, took the 6gb edge plan to replace my unlimited data, and everything was normal for the first few weeks. I used the SIM that came with the note, I didn't use the one from my old thunderbolt. About a week ago, I looked on my Verizon account online and noticed I had unlimited data again! I'm hoping that I'll be able to keep it. It even states on my bill that they removed it and then added it back on.

ATT just flagged my N-7000 for a data plan....UPDATE: for the THIRD TIME

I don;t even use 1 GB a month and I got the SMS. Wonder if this is going to be something they begin doing with International devices. Wife's SGS II I9100 still on MediaNet
I called after putting my SIM back in a Nokia, Gave them the Nokia IMEI and am back on MediaNet. Going to use the Noikia for awhile. Then swap it out. The Rep tld me the LAST FOUR digets of the IMEI gave away the fact I was using a Samsung Smart phone but they could not identify which one. So if your last four digits are 8610 There is a likely hood ATT will tag it and add the 3GB plan....
I used 257 MB last month...LOL

Same here I literally just got a text and email saying that they added the 3GB datapro plan to my account five minutes ago. They removed my 10 dollar plan medianet plan.
When I get home I'll swap my Sim into a dumb phone and change back to medianet online. Hopefully this works. I've had medianet for 8 years this is the first time they flagged me.
I've only gotten one text warning me about it but I never got anything else and am still on unlimited. My IMEI last four digits is not the same as what you posted.
The last 4 of my imei are also different from what OP posted.
Maybe they got the Notes IMEI ranges for the international devices.....

The N7000 IS an international device. But, there are so many N7000s out in the world, that we are all bound to have different IMEIs.
If your on unlimited you will stay on unlimited. The issue is for the $10 data plans that were there on certain devices

You are right. I misunderstood. If I go over data, I will just get throttled. But, I could lose my unlimited if: 1) I leave a smartphone plan. 2) They notice that I am using portable hotspot.
I'm hoping that this sweep is only done like once a month. This would give us the opportunity to use a dumb phone and revert back to medianet unlimited. Then we can swap sim's back into the unlocked notes and keep the medianet plan until the next sweep.
here's hoping they dont auto detect the imei as a smartphone as soon as the note registers onto at&t network. I'll confirm my findings tonight.

I have been doing this for years without an issue until this morning LOL
I am carrying my old Nokia flip phone around as of today as well as the Note on Wifi for everything else...Like having a tablet and a phone anyway,
I would not mind paying if I used a lot of Carrier data, Give me a GB for $15 and I would be happy enough. Definitely don;t need 3 GB.
Be curious to follow this thread and see if this becomes more frequent.
I got home put my Sim in an att w350 dumb phone and waited for olam to update my phone. It detected my phone on olam immediately however in the manage features I still could not see the 10 or 15 dollar medianet options like I could see in the past. It only showed the 3GB datapro 30 dollar rip off plan. I tried logging in and out of olam like 5 times but it still did not show medianet. I then decided to call premier customer service to have them manually revert back to medianet plan.
The rep on the phone could see I was using a w350i dumb phone but they weren't able to select the medianet plan as it was not an option for them. After putting me on hold they stated they would open a case for me and that it would be resolved in like a week. I was frustrated that I had to wait that long. Then the rep said to hold on and that they now saw the 15 dollar medianet option available on my account. I reminded the rep that I previously had the 10 dollar medianet plan because I had the 30 dollar family messaging on my account. Since they could not see that specific plan they have me a 5 dollar credit on my account.
The rep then told me to login to olam to verify. When I did I saw the 10 dollar medianet plan available. I quickly selected it and applied the changes to my acct. I told the rep that I had found my old plan. The call ended.
I waited 15 minutes and then placed the Sim back in my note. I've been using note for 3 hours and haven't got any automated data plan changes via text or email. Here's hoping this is a long term fix. Im dreading getting that sweep again in 24 hrs. Wish me luck guys. I know im not the only one who's used medianet unlimited with unbranded unblocked smartphones for the past 8 years. I'll update you if I get the nasty gram text. For the record I've never even used more than a gig of data during the course of a month.

I've on the same boat for almost 10 years. I thinks once your IMEI being flagged, it will get flagged again in a matter of hours. Luckily I have a spare Sony dump phone for me to switch back to media net for the moment (web chat with CS takes a lot less time). Wish us luck but I already plan to switch to Straight talk now.
can't you spoof your ime number? Than there wouldn't be any issues.
So far so good. No texts or emails from att. Logged into olam this morning and it no longer shows my att w350i dumbphone image for my phone. It now shows the generic grey flip phone the system shows when it doesnt recognize the phone you have.
I wonder if AT&T would do any business if it wasnt for that Iphone exclusive?
As a company, they got the brand name but everyone I know complains about their service. I kind of despise them for crap like this....
I saw this as an industry move, the data throttling/capping BS coming years ago, coming from a we sell "minutes" business model, at this point bytes are they have left to sell, it will be interesting to see what happens to this industry in the next few years. Its going to be very interesting. I expect VOIP to get some sort of new more reliable way of transmitting or for municipalities to wire up whole metro areas solid and provide free wi fi. The cable and data companies will lobby and lobby and lobby to all hell to protect their rackets but they are doomed

Yep the biggest fear for telecoms and ISP's is to become dumb pipes.
They started blocking the N7000 on the GoPhone $50 plan a while ago. Even the generic imei that you get when you delete the EFS folder. It was only a matter of time. It was fun while it lasted.

Yes that would work but talking about it is frowned upon in this forum. Forum entries for Imei, meid and esn changes/repairs are disappearing. Many forums have gotten warning letters and have purged much of their information regarding these topics. The "Wild East" Forums still talk about it though.
Well tbh if they wanna **** you around with data because you change your phone i say **** them around right back and spoof your imei.

I got unlimited data on att

yep, thats right unlimited data off their premier website, activated today for $35. with my 25% discount it comes to $26.25 per month, two year contract. I was on the phone with them for 4 hours last thursday beccause I only wanted the plan because I have a Nexus, but it wouldn't check out without buying a phone, then the phone was supposed to have a $100 discount and I couldn't get the discount to show in the cart. Never did, but when i got pissed and told them to send me to cancellation, the clerk gave me a $20 dollar discount for the next three months. Good enough, so i now also own a samsung rugby smart. I talked to about half a dozen ppl there, and they all said there was no unlimited data plan. I had to give them permission to signin to my account and walk them through the process. ---->
They sent an email saying i needed to renew my plan to continue to receive the 25% discount. I followed the link to the upgrade site which started with choosing a phone. I selected smartphone link. off to the right on the next page is the cart where they have phone, accessories and data plans and something else i can't remember. Instead of selecting a phone I selected the data plans first. next page had 4 tabs, one being individual plans. all the way on the bottom is a plan "smartphone personal plan for 4g devices". This is listed as unlimited data. I put it in the cart. I couldn't check out, there was an asterisk next to the phone selection. So i had to select that, and it showed three phones, the rugby, a captivate, and some pantech phone. The rugby had the $100 discount that wouldn't show in the cart, that is when i said send me to cancellations, where I got the monthly relief. Not a hundred bucks, but close enough. i completed the checkout. Phone arrived yesterday, I activated it, and today it shows the plan on my account.
Crazy that nobody at att knew anything about the plan, and were amazed when they saw it. I was even told at one point that it would not be honored. Woo hoo..........
I find the unlimited part hard to bealive the only people that can offer that is Higher up people or if your on Media net otherwise not possible. Also I have heard Reps and people at the store call the 10GB plan Unlimated as most people 99% of the time wont know or use that much anyway
I know its hard to believe. As you can see in the OP all the folks at ATT that signed in to my account and I walked them through the steps couldn't believe it either. I just looked at the site again before reposting, and sure enough it is still showing the SMT personal plan with unlimited data. I haven't used more than 2 gb since I lowered from 4gb almost a year ago, cause i wait till i get to wifi to do large downloads and didn't like paying the outrageous costs for their darn data plans. Its a wait and see if and how it goes in the future. This is not medianet by the way.
Did you have a smart phone with AT&T before? Did you even have AT&T before and what link do I need to go to try this?
Thanks

I have been with att forever, back b4 they became cingular, probably about 30 years. yes, i can remember the "cell" phones that had the giant battery pack attached. I currently have a Nexus b4 this phone. I only bought this phone cause it was the only way to get the plan. Pain in the ass trying to get cwm on it too.
As stated in the op, when I went to upgrade i really only wanted to update the plan because I didn't want to pay for another phone. when i went to the upgrade, it directed me to the phones first, but i skipped and went to data plans first, then when it forced me to buy a phone, it only showed 3 phones. After looking closer at the specs today, the reason it went that way is because the modem in this phone will not handle 4g. UMTS tops. They don't see it being to good for data! The signal indicator in the status bar is kinda neat because it is "4g" moniker but it is only capable of 3g. WTF ATT. Keep in mind the name of the plan is Smart phone plan for 4g devices. Kinda misleading, eh?
So, I haven't put the sim card in my Nexus yet, but hopefully I ain't hosed there. If it doesn't work I'll go to the b&m store and get a new sim. Going to wait till the first billing cycle (14th of the month) before i switch back to the Nexus. Love the fact that it is a rugged water resistant phone, but can't be my daily driver for too long. I'll update after i switch back to my nexus.
couldn't stand the wait. put the sim in my Nexus and it shows hsdpa:8 - good to go there
Did you have to wait until your phone arrived and you activated for the new plan to show up on your account? Did the new unlimited plan automatically replace your old plan?

Our phone company partners with a couple cellular carriers and I find that in each carrier portal unlimited is not truly unlimited, it's just set to something like 999999 MB or it's capped at 2 or 10GB and refreshes when you hit that cap without charge because they will begin to throttle you after what they consider excessive use.
My company actually has some feature phones that they've provisioned with unlimited data due to technical issues. I hope no one discovers the USB modem capability

Unlimited Data

Anyone else running into the data plan change problem? I have a Grandfathered Unlimited data plan, however when ordering the new phone I was forced to select a plan most similar to the one I have due to LTE 4G. Well it did say Premier Personal Unlimited Data so I selected it. I called twice and talked to AT&T reps before fully checking out online for the pre-order. I just now actually activated the phone and the rep said he did not have the clearance to put me back on the Unlimited plan so I would have to wait up to 10 days, though he said it usually only takes a couple days. He opened a case and wrote notes. The case supposedly will be escalated to the next tier of support to get my Unlimited back. For now I got stuck on 3GB. Anyone else run into this?
My understanding is if you wanna keep unlimited then you wouldn't be able to access the LTE side.

Not true at all. You can get lte unlimited. I have it. But they will cap you 5gb I think. I do have lte where I live so I would know. Granted I buy my phones outright so I don't deal with plans and all that bs. I know best buy can keep your current plan and pretty sure att.com does it to. If you were forced I would have canceled the order personally. Call att. If you did already select a new plan it can not be undone.

Ya when I got my SGS3 I kept my unlimited data. It was nice since it raised from Unlimited Data plans to where I am throttled at 5Gb rather than the 3Gb for my SGS2. Plus when I got throttled for the 5Gb I just had to change my APN to the huspa+ APN and get another 3Gb unthrottled. I am sure it will be the same here.
OP and future people what I have ALWAYS done is while I am at Walmart/Radio Shack and upgrading my phone I would call ATT during it to MAKE SURE my data plan wasn't changed in the first place. So far it has always worked for me this way.

So my AT&T plan is a good fit for me right now. I have DataPro 2GB (25$) and 1000 texts (10$). I get my Galaxy S4 in the mail and I go to activate it using some AT&T automated system online. When I do that my old phone deactivates and my new phone activates as expected. I give it some time to complete on the back end but after several hours I can make calls but I still can't text or use data.
I stop by AT&T on the way home and ask about what might have happened, they tell me that I have no data plan, and I have no texting plan. I explain the earlier events and that I was using this very data/text plan on my old phone earlier today. They tell me they can't do anything and suggest I call support. I go home and call support.
"Customer service" says no-can-do but offers me a 3GB plan for 30$ and unlimited text for 20$. This is 15$ more a month (obvious bull**** is obvious). I explain that this is unacceptable. When I chose to upgrade my phone I also chose (using their online pre-ordering form) to keep my existing rate plan. It explain that it even lists the two items on the new contract (which I had to dig around on their site to even find).
Finally after a lot of "customer service" bull**** where they fake empathy and try to just make you go away, I get transferred to the guys who get **** done...
Within two minutes the problem was fixed. Took me three hours wading through salesmen and customer service tards.
If there is some LTE limitation I'll upgrade to the 3GB plan, but as of right now it looks completely normal.

When I ordered the phone I clicked "keep current plan." When I set up the phone they took away the unlimited data. I just had to call and ask for it back.
This is my THIRD LTE device on the grandfathered unlimited data plan, it's not going anywhere as long as I keep paying for it! If someone "forces" you to choose, whether it is in store or online, then you need to find an alternative, and that usually means finding someone who knows what they're doing and not their first day out of training....
Just checked today, I am back on Unlimited Data! Woo hoo!

The best buy system was trying to do the same for me. I had her call and verify I was keeping my unlimited data and I was. Somehow that dummy removed our family text in the process though. So I went to my buddy at att to fix that and verify my data didn't change and it said LTE unlimited data...

Yeah they cannot force you off.... if you selected keep same plan and they changed it they need to fix it. At&t is trying really hard to get people off the unlimited data plan....I tell all the peeps I help to NEVER take it off (unless they really want to).... and that every time they speak with an att rep. to expect them to try and get them off of it..

LTE Smartphone Unlimited Personal Add-On
all my other services where kept and no change in monthly payments.
How bad is the data speed throttling on LTE? I know ATT is bad for throttling unlimited data but just wondering what the speeds drop down to on LTE these days.

How to keep unlimited data when buying phone?

I'm currently on a family line with 2 phones having a 2GB data plan and 2 other phones having unlimited data. I currently have unlimited data on my line with an upgrade and I'm planning on purchasing this phone at a subsidized price.
My plan was to transfer my upgrade to a 2 GB line. Activating it on that line and then simply swapping it over to my line and inserting the SIM card into it. Now it appears that I cannot simply insert the SIM as it takes a nano SIM card and not the micro SIM that my galaxy s4 currently uses. How would I be able to switch over the line and keep my unlimited data?
Can I just grab another nano SIM from Verizon or is that not possible? I'm getting a little worried I'll lose my unlimited data if I swap lines. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

I think we're the same person. I'm in an identical situation and I'd like to know the answer to this as well. I have upgraded other lines to keep my unlimited in the past but I haven't had to have a new sim to do it until now.

They give Sim cards away at Verizon for no charge. Just ask.

Just tell Verizon your buying a phone from a friend. Like perhaps a iPhone or a moot x. They all use a nano SIM
Verizon gives out some cards for free.
Here is the latest update to keeping unlimited I have seen. Transferring upgrade may no longer work. See Method 5.

I've upgraded on a non smartphone line before since the other 2 have unlimited data, but it looks like you cannot remove the data anymore so your stuck paying the data fees for 2yrs.... Sucks
I believe they make SIM cutters. Might want to look into those.
Or just ask Verizon to send you a new SIM card.

I did it two years ago and I was able to remove it. Went into Verizon today to ask since I saw your comment, and they still said it's okay, but you have to wait maybe 12 or so hours to reactivate it on your line. I guess I'll ask somewhere else to confirm it tomorrow.
Please let me know. Can't wait to get this phone. Thank you

Talked to two different reps today. One store wouldn't give me any information since it's against policy I guess. The other rep at my usual store (this makes 4 people from this store saying it, one person has done it for me) confirmed it again. He said that transferring upgrades is okay but it may come back on the employee. Not really sure about that part, but it may be why they're hesitant to do it or admit it. But activating the phone and transferring it to your line is okay. Again I was told you may have 12 hours of down time to avoid suspicion or something like that. Again, not sure about that since 2 years ago they activated it on my line within 5 minutes and had me out. You can remove data lines from basic phones too by calling Verizon and having the CSR remove it from the system, which I did last time.
As far as SIM cards go, this should not be an issue. I forgot to ask the reps today, but yesterday I was told that it doesn't matter. They'll activate the phone on your non unlimited line, toss the SIM, and put in a new one for your line. I'm not sure which line gets the 12 hours of downtime here though, since I was in a bit of a hurry and forgot that too. I'm a little worried about that since I don't want my mother to go phoneless for a day since she has work and all. But as far as upgrades go, you'll be set and keeping your unlimited data with it. I'll be buying my phone next Thursday on the 30th, so if you want, I can let you know how it goes. I just hope I don't run into a rep that won't help me with this, since I guess technically they're not allowed to. If anybody has any conflicting information, please let me know. I'll try to clear it up with my store since they don't seem to have an issue with this method and are surprisingly honest about it.
After keeping my HTC Thunderbolt since its release (warranty claim recently upgraded me to a Droid DNA!), I finally have succumbed to relinquishing my unlimited data plan. I fully understand why you would want to keep it and admit that it felt like tearing my heart out when I switched to the more everything plan but I will say a few things:
1. Earlier last month I read that Verizon wanted to start throttling unlimited plans after 5gb of use. Recently I saw that they decided not to, so yay for you! I do however think that they are going to make it harder and harder to keep your plan as time passes. As it is, you are probably paying significantly more per month to keep the plan.
2. If you downgrade to a more everything plan there is a "month to month" promo that gives you the same Edge plan perk of $15/smartphone per month line access fee (as opposed to the $40 one). Again this is a promo for out of contract people and I know it is active because it was just applied to my account. (Note, you must select at least the 10gb plan and of course be out of contract)
3. By switching out of the unlimited data plan I now have unlimited minutes per month, 10GB of monthly data (family's average was 5gb-7gb anyway), and am paying ~$65 less per month on my bill now.
I'm not trying to convince anyone to switch, but $65 less a month is a lot of money saved when I wasn't even using 10gb per month.
I hope this helps someone like me who kept unlimited out of principal but didn't actually utilize it.

I assume this did not include getting a new phone. If you want to keep that offer when upgrading, I assume you will have to use Verizon edge, right?

At the moment we still have all our old phones, yes. I was told that the promo would last until we decide to upgrade. At that point, if we use "Edge", the line access fee is still $15/smartphone per month plus the monthly cost of the phone (this is a permanent price feature for all edge plans 10gb and over AFIK). I asked what happens after the phone is payed off and was told that the line access fee jumps to $40/smartphone per month unless we "re-Edge" another phone or jump onto the "month to month" promotion again which may or may not be available. Note: I have been told many things about what happens after an edge plan phone is paid off. I am not 100% sure if the line access fee changes or not. I know that while paying off phones on the edge plan, plans 10gb or over have a $15/smartphone per month line access fee and all other non-edge plan devices have a $40/smartphone per month line access fee. Tablets are $10 per month on or off of edge which is cool.
Also, because I would have to pay full price for a phone on my old unlimited plan anyways, I did not incorporate the additional cost(s) of the phone(s) into my monthly savings mentioned above. I figure that with unlimited data or edge you have to pay the full price of the phone anyway so technically if we got new phones at full price and swapped them out, we would still have the promo active. Then again, not everybody (me included) can fork out $600+ per line on their account all at once. Lastly, so many great new phones are coming out every quarter that I kind of like edge because after 60% of the phone is paid off I can jump to a new one and continue payments as normal. It allows me to stay current with technology instead of holding on to a crappy thunderbolt just because it had unlimited data

For some of us, like me, I am trying to stay on my unlimited data plan because it is cheaper (or pretty much the same price) for me than anything else Verizon currently offers. I have a plan with Unlimited Data, 450 minutes, 400 texts and I pay about $65 a month total. The only comparable plan would be the new single line plan which is Unlimited Talk/Text and 2Gb data for $60. Thing is, I don't need any more talk or text because I never use what I currently have. I do use a lot of data. If I were to switch to a More Everything plan I would be paying heaps more every month for less data than I get now.
Verizon just simply doesn't have plans anymore that cater to people like me who want limited minutes/texts and lots of data.

Yeah, I would stay on your current plan too It is harder to manage with a family plan and everyone wanting new phones though... Good luck!
Can someone confirm if this would work....
I have a 5 line family plan. 3 smartphones and 2 dumbphones. 2 of the smartphones are UDP and one is 2GB. I have an upgrade available on a dumbphone line. I would like to move that upgrade from the dumbphone line to the 2GB tier smartphone line and get a new smartphone. Once the new smartphone is activated on the 2GB line, could I then swap the sim from the new phone and give my existing phone to the 2GB line and then put my UDP sim in the new phone without changing my UDP? I was hoping this could work as the upgrade is not from my UDP line which would cause me to lose my unlimited as I have read on the net. So would this scenario allow me to preserve my UDP? Thanks for any help!

Yes, i did a variation of this two years ago, it works. And according to the reps i spoke to, it still does. Although there is no need to transfer the upgrade. Activate the phone on your dumbphone line, then reactivate the dumbphone on that line. It will drop the data plan from the line and then you can activate the new phone onto your udp line. This is called an alternate upgrade. The reps i spoke to know what it is, and they probably will help you with it.

Unfortunately this is no longer true. If you update one of the dumb lines and get a smart phone, the dump line will be locked in to a tiered data plan for 2 years. The carriers closed this loophole a few months ago.

Great idea, but I'd double and triple check the new contract when you sign them though. Since the carries are doing it to the UDPs, they may apply the same restriction to all lines. IE., since the update comes from the dumb line, they may force you to sign up for a tiered data plan for 2 years on the dumb line.
... Just make sure you read the contact closely when you update

Upgrading with 2 year contract and keeping unlimited data

I did this with the original Turbo, but I have an upgrade available on my unlimited data line and my sister has 2GB of data on our family plan. I plan on transferring my upgrade to her line, upgrading the phone and activating it. Then just slip my nano sim and... profit. Anyone successfully upgrade their phone and keep their unlimited data? Does the best buy method still work as well?

I have no idea how this works, can you please elaborate? I know it's a common method but I really want to upgrade my phone. I'm currently on an UDP and I have two tiered data lines. You just have to transfer the upgrade to theirs, and when the phone comes in, put in your SIM card instead of activating the card it comes with? That's all you have to do?

There are two methods I have 2 lines 1 udp and 2 tired 2 gig plans wife/daughter.
1. My wife's line had an upgrade went to version upgraded walked out to the car swapped Sims now its mine.
2. Transfer your upgrade to another one of your lines on the computer before hand. Go to verizon upgrade walk outside swap Sims.
Number 2 some people say you should not swap Sims immediately. Make some calls and in a few hours swap. I don't know why it would make a difference but it is what I have heard. I have done both methods and did not lose udp. However number 2 I gave my udp update to my daughter 2 months ago for a turbo. However it was for her so I never swapped my sim to the phone.

Thank you. I'll definitely be saving this for future reference. Also apparently with the new increase in UDP prices, you can use your upgrade and keep the UDP too. I'm still looking into that but this will be a great back up plan in case.

I thought that as well but it would seem not. What the increase for udp will allow is you to purchase a phone on a payment plan like everyone else. If you try to update using upgrade buh buy unlimited.

Transferring an upgrade from a line which has an unlimited plan, to another line will result in a change to the unlimited plan line as well. Since that contract changed, the data plan changes as well. That was my last conversation with VZW today, Nov 11, 2015 @ 2:49 CST. Also, with the increase on the Unlimited data plan, if you opt to go on a device payment plan, the Unlimited data plan will be discounted back down to $30/month. So device payment plan = $30 data plan + monthly phone price increase(Maxx 2 would be $16/monthly) and you would still save the $20 per month, net savings $4 monthly. This will begin on Nov 15th. They will slowly phase out 2 year Contracts is the end game there.

Your first mistake was asking a verizon rep they lie like a rug. I transfered my udp upgrade to my daughter's line she upgraded my contract extended and I don't have to pay the 20 dollar udp increase for 2 years. I just did this in June.

Even from the VZW website, when I go to transfer my upgrade, it makes me change the Unlimited data plan on my line to the 2GB plan. Did you do the upgrade at a best buy like menational above? Or yourself online at the VZW website? The Increase in price will start on Sunday, Nov 15th.

Nope I just transferred the upgrade to my other line. Went to verizon upgraded and my lines contract got extended two years. I guess in the 3-4 months they could have changed it. You could try to switch the upgrade then go to verizon and upgrade. I am assuming you tried it on the computer that may be the issue.

This, Verizon reps from 3 different stores fed me that line as well. I just upgraded online so I didn't have to deal with them.
I will go to Verizon Tomorrow, but even transferring the upgrade from another line at Best Buy said it would get rid of my unlimited Data plan, So at the VZW Store the same thing would happen as well.

there is a way to do it through the Verizon website, there is a trick during the checkout to keep your existing plan and keep unlimited, I did it on my single line (nationwide 450 talk and text), upgraded my phone to a droid turbo 2 and my contract got renewed to 10/31/2017. You still will need to swap your existing SIM to the new phone though. some people on another forum said it was risky but it worked for me. if you want more info you can pm me.

But maybe after 30 days, it might drop. Just keep an eye on it. The paper work that came with your device, does it state that your data plan is no longer Unlimited? And is now 6GB for $30? I can do the transfer upgrade on the VZW website, and it seems like it won't change the unlimited data plan. I was really hoping for the best buy deal of a galaxy S6 for $1 for a renewal. Worst case scenario, I do a device payment plan, on my lines, and the over all be only goes up $10-$20 instead of $40( for two unlimited plans). Sams club on the 14th will have the Galaxy S6 and note 5 for $0.96 with a 2 year Contracts . So we shall see what happens by Saturday.
Worst case scenario, I do a Device payment plan to keep the data an at $30, I will have to pay at least $20 more per UDP, so I might as well get phones out of it, rather than paying for air.
Thanks for the support.

I already received the contract paperwork through mail, I'm locked on nationwide 450 talk and text with unlimited data with no price increase until 10/31/2017. According to the paperwork I will get the $20 increase after 10/31/17 unless I can figure out a way to extend the contract again before then.
