Slow charging problem - Droid Turbo 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello, i own a Moto X Force UK Edition and i am using it here in Italy. SO my problem is: Since some time (don't know what it could have caused it) my phone is only charging with 1amp ??. Also when i am using the turbocharger or other Quickchargers it never excdeeds 1100 mah !? I don't understand what thhe reason could be.
The device has unlocken bootloader and is rooted. TWRP 3.0.0 on here.
Please help me. Maybe my battery is faulty. Is there already a official replacement battery avaiable online? Because i do not want to go through motorola replacement service. And i also voided my warranty with root.
All the best.
- Sorry for my bad english

Which cable are you using? Maybe has higher impedance. Try another one.

Have you tried turning it off then on again? I'm not joking.
My Turbo 2 (on Verizon, not Force) has the same problem once in a while with a slow charge, or it will drain the battery quickly for no apparent reason, but a simple reboot solves it for me.

Thanks for your suggestions. But i solved the problem flashing the stock firmware fresh new from the other thread.

[Q] Motorola Defy (Defy+?) Battery Fix Please

Hi all and thanks in advance for any help/information/answers I may get. A couple of weeks ago I bought a Defy off ebay with a known problem where the seller had tried to flash with less than half power and screwed the phone up. After two weeks and lots of reading I've managed to get Phone working (after flashing a chinese sbf that put BL7 on it) with a cm9 rom on it. Only problem I have now is that the phone believes its a Defy+ when it is a Defy (green lens). Whenever I put a battery in (fully charged through wall charger) battery meter only ever says 80% (at most) and the phone doesn't seem to charge the battery. I have tried various fixes including red lens and cm7 zips but got no-where. Does anyone have any other ideas please?
Hi try Asking to walter79 maybe he can help you.
at present there is no fix. the phone is stuck as it is now until someone comes up with bootloader downgrade.
my phone i presume yours and a few other unlucky souls who jumped before looking have a device that wont charge and that doesnt register true battery stats. as a workaround i use two batteries one charges in a wall charger while the other gets used and i keep alternating them when i need to.
my defy has been like this for about 3 or 4 months. the only way to fix this would be to be able to downgrade the bl7 to a bl6 or below but that isnt possible as yet and too be honest i wouldnt hold your breath that someone will bring out such a hack considering the phone is pretty long in the tooth nowadays. you can however at least root it and install other roms such as euroskanks cm7. the battery still doesnt work but you can hide the battery icon and simply keep alternaiting the battery and if you have a red lense the camera and everything else works sweet as a nut. if i cared that much about phones i would have changed it by now but quite frankly i dont. as long as it does what i need it to (which in reality is very little) then i will carry on using it as it is and when the price of an xt890 has dropped to such a level that i can justify buying one i will send thew defy off to mobile recycling company.
anyways sorry to be the bearer of bad news but look at on the bright side... at least you can now give up googling and then flashing all the defy battery fixes (none of which work for this particular problemo!).

Thanks for the reply must admit I was beginning to think there was no way round this. Still no problem I only bought the phone to attempt the repair and then resell. Got four batteries for it so will give it to my daughter and sell her phone instead.

Ghost Touch while Charging!!

Started using Moto G4 Plus since yesterday and I'm seeing this weird problem. Phone works perfectly fine with no issues but whenever I charge the device, I'm experiencing ghost touch and severe lags. Unable to control the touch and it works fine when its not under charging. Tried different charger and still the same problem. Anyone experiencing the same problem? Should I go for replacement? Please let me know.

Surely, I don't have that issue. While charging, my device gets a bit hot but never had any touch issues. Touch and display are the best part of this device so I would recommend you go for a replacement.
Experiencing the same from the day I received mine. So mine is a defective one or is it normal?

Same issues on my new Moto G4 Plus while using the default turbo charger. Used another charger and no issues yet. Thinking of replacement.
It happens with me when the battery is less than or close to 15%. Otherwise no issues.
This occurs with a charger that supplies current at 2A for me. Ground the charger, or use a lesser amperage charger, and the phone works fine. The problem is with the charger, and not the phone. I believe you will face the same problem if you replace the phone. You can't get it fixed with a charger replacement either.
Of course, that is no justification for the issue.
I got my g4+ just yesterday the only problem I'm having with it is that it gets extremely hot while charging for evn 10mins so I changed back to my old Sony charger n it's working just fine no heating issues while over iseage or gaming(online MC4) or charging either....
But it problem is different....
Still I suggest u to try using a 1A or 2A Sony or Samsung charger n it shld b fine....I guess
Same problem here. Returned the phone.
can someone explain what is ghost touch & i really don't get the point what does it mean.
just planning to buy this device in this week.

It means when we connect the given(turbo) charger to phone....the phone starts to take random touches on the screen ( till the phone is locked and reopened) The frequency of the touches are so high that we can't even open the settings menu..... It seems like this issue is with only few unlucky ones, better to replace the phone at service centre!
same issue for my g4 plus too.
I also reported this issue to moto forum, i was not aware it is ghost touch.

Is this bug in device or charger issue ?
I am facing this issue when connecting device to laptop using usb cable.
going to format device and check again if this is present or not, any one already tried this?

This happens only if you're using a duplicate charger, try charging your device with other branded chargers like samsung, asus and check if the problem is resolved. if the problem is resolved, replace charger. cheers

Its pretty bad. Its not just the over heating, its the throttling part after the heating that's a pain in the....
Within 10-12 mins of continuously taking pics the camera ui starts lagging badly and within 15 mins the camera app just crashes. The threshold for taking videos is even lower, as within 2 minutes the camera starts having problem keeping the focus and the camera app just crashes around 2 n a half minutes of taking videos.
If u haven't yet bought the phone, and camera is a priority don't buy it...

Have same issue of Ghost touch & overheating while using camera & charging.
A bit confused since don't have any other choice of brand/model.
6 of my friends returned their phone since was with no solution even after replacement.
Any clue if issue can be resolved with OTA ?

Ghost charge can be solved by using a different charger. Please note that i haven't personally had this issue, but saw most people commenting that the issue went away after using another charger.
About the overheating in general, we have been breaking our heads on the lennovo forums to make them understand the issue but they keep saying that the heat is normal and the forum Manager in his solution said that they can't do anything about it.
About the camera app, they said they are looking into the issue and working on a camera update that will allow for longer video recording durations. But that just means that we will still have to adjust and if u wanna record something that's of a long duration, for example a music concert, u will probably never be able to do that on this phone..

I have discovered here the solution for this too, my xt320 and xt687 haves this problem. Do the following:
Charge your phone with the entyre charger cable in rect line.by a long distance between the charger and the phone.
Doing this, the screen works well, because NO magnectic interference is generated by the charger and No captative magnectic interference
By the touchscreen
That is all.

Are you using tempered glass screen protectors? this is common issue on turbo charged phone when using those. I have 2 moto g4 plus and both act the same.
Cheap chargers and cheap screen protectors will do that.
Maybe it's a software issue, try flashing cyanogenmod.

I had the same problem
I also faced a similar issue, i.e. ghost touch when charging.
The screen-guard is certainly not the issue, as the problem occurs only when charging.
Try different charges to confirm that the problem is not charger specific.
I found on the internet that it was a software issue and can be fixed by visiting a service center.
I had tried factory resetting but it was of no use.
Since I had discovered the issue on the first day, I got it replaced from amazon.
You should try updating the software.
Download and flash the stock ROM.
Or try a custom ROM.
If nothing helps, un-root your phone and take it to a service center.

Hi Abdelaziz,
The issue you are facing coz u used another charger, the charger probably caused damage to your battery, and as u have mentioned that this issue has also occured when u are not charging..that means you battery is surely affected. and as per my past xperience this will keep getting worse. i will xplain u why this happens.
moto g4 plus's processor throttles at a very high rate which inturn asks for more power from the battery to keep it going. and since your battery is already damaged by ur another charger.. ur battery is unable to keep up with ur device..and that leads to ghost touching. automatic operating..u will also tend to face battery drain.
solution: Get ur battery replaced ASAP. i hope this helps.:fingers-crossed:

Motorola Droid Turbo 2 Shutdown,Battery Drain after Nougat update!

My phone is shutting down frequently and battery drain is so high.
Can I downgrade to marshmallow? or even fix these problems by any means?

Same here. Battery has been draining like hell. Phone dies on me at work most days, with medium usage.
If anyone has got a fix, please feel free to let us know.
Thanks

I literally can't use my phone.
Almost everytime I open an app, camera or anything the phone shuts down immediately
I had the same problems. Ended up contacting Motorola and got a replacement.
Still not as reliable as original on Marshmallow.
Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
Hello everyone, here is what I've done thus far. . .
Factory reset the phone and allowed all items to sync back over from Gmail
Factory reset the phone and DID not sync back over from Gmail
Ran phone in safe mode
Allowed battery to fully drain, then fully recharged using an OEM charger (battery lasted about 26 hours with very minimal usage)
Fully disassembled and reassembled the phone
Contacted Motorola Support (if phone is out-of-warranty, it'll cost you $100 or $125 for a USED REPLACEMENT of an ALREADY OLD PHONE)
Contacted Verizon Support (waste of time -- they just want you to upgrade of course!)
Cleared cached partition in Recovery mode
Attempted rolling back to Android 6.0 (FYI: you can't -- Bootloader is locked -- don't waste your time like me lol)
At this point, at least in my situation, I feel like the problem has something to do with the Battery and some type of "check" that is done when applications are opened. After I fully disassembled and reassembled my phone, I did not have the random reboot issue whatsoever.. UNTIL.. I used a non-OEM charger. After that, I had about 2-3 of the random shut downs that required the phone be plugged into a charger to start back up. At this moment, the phone hasn't had the random reboots since removing it from a non-OEM charger, but I will continue to investigate.
I planned on replacing the battery as well if the problems persisted. Really sucks that nobody in Motorola is willing to help their customers. I have probably spent upwards to 10 hours troubleshooting this issue and trying to find a root cause, but I'm not a mobile phone professional. If you contact Motorola, they just think $$$ and tell you to send in for a replacement instead of resolving the ROOT CAUSE. That ensures the DT2 to be my final Motorola purchase for a very long time.
Will try that
I hope it works, I really do
Because I can't basically use my phone outside because when it turns off I have to turn it on using a charger!!

I have corrected this problem in my Verizon Turbo 2, the fix is to buy and install a new battery.
My own phone gradually lost it's charge capacity, it would deplete rapidly, then it wouldn't power on except on charger, then it wouldn't power on at all.
Funny thing, this problem is on multiple forums with no fix.
I tried, factory reset multiple times lost all kinds of important texts and memos.
Then I changed the battery from here:
ebay: search " New Replace Battery for Motorola Turbo 2 XT1585 Moto X XT1581 SNN5958A FB55 -USA "
I would say it is an extremely easy swap. Just have to heat up the back rubber with a hairdryer to release it, or not! (I didn't, I slowly peeled mine)
If that was helpful, shoot me those sweet wage slavery bills at my paypal catindahat247(at)yahoo(dot)com

I had assumed it was a battery issue myself. I just now replaced my battery as well, so I will see if my problems resolve. $20 for a replacement battery > buying a new phone, that's for sure!
Got mine fixed by changing my charger. In my case my charger was the issue. Yes it's the charger that came with the phone.
I swapped out chargers with my girlfriend, she uses nexus 6. So far the nexus charger has worked magic

Sorry for delays! Yes, this has absolutely resolved my problems. I bought my replacement battery off of eBay and I have not had random shut downs or fast battery drain. I will say the battery life isn't as good as a brand new device (from the manufacturer), but it's a barely noticeable difference in battery life.

My phone always seem to die at 20% battery. I have tried replacing battery many times but it doesn't seem to work. Is there any chance it may be this custom kernal's issue/misbehaving or is my phone's motherboard faulty. ? Is there anyone else facing same issue ? Please help

I had the same problem it is most of the time the battery that starts to degrade and when it hits 20 per cent has way too little voltage to keep the phone running. Try going back to full stock no root on nougat not oreo then root it again and try installing another H990DS rom I am using the stock flashable oreo I forgot the link but it is the Indian variant

In my experience, never use OEM battery. most of the time those are 2000mah crap.
so, in my opinion, better get unofficial 3200mah or 4100mah or larger battery from reputable battery company on your country or import perfine/shenmz/other reputable ones (look on lgv20 subreddit for more info if importing) if possible.
