As of yesterday my phone stopped booting certain roms! Im rooted with all the latest twrp, vendor, bootloader, etc. I never encountered this problem and Ive been rooted since day one. I have several custom roms on my phone and only "Resurrection Rom" seems to boot without any problem all the other (Purenexus, benzorom, chroma, exdous) Roms get past the google screen and stay stuck in the boot up screen.. Am I missing something?? Ive checked everything I could. Ive downgraded twrp. Im stump any insight on this would be greatly appreciated..

Never figured anything out? I think im having this same issue with my 6p i tried flashing pure nexus, xTraFactory, and Stock+ but for me it just bootloops and once out of 20 attemps pure nexus will get to the colored logo then freeze and reboot. I long deleted Ressurrection Remix because it was my daily driver and already had a backup made. That went to sh*t though when my backup bootlooped as well so now i have a 6p i can only boot into recovery and bootloader. My laptop with fastboot installed needs a new charger so i use my moms computer to put zips on my phone but i really doubt she will let me install anything on it at all :/. I dont want to flash the factory image and bootloop still though when i get a charger. Ill see if I can boot back into rros fresh.

Well this is quite an old post to awaken but to be short and Frank I had to send my device in to have the motherboard replaced because the 6p still has hardware issues whether it's Huawei's (prolly spelled wrong.) fault or Google's, regardless I just got the motherboard replaced and sold the device immediately because I didn't want to have another paper weight in my hands I now have an essential phone and it is dare I say the most comfortable phone I've ever had. That being said I hope you can Rectify your issues here but you'll have to go through either Huawei or Google, and get one of the two to help you out with a replacement.
This kind of happened to me too. I just updated TWRP and all flash are fine now. Hope this will help someone

Solved it today it was because I tried restoring an old backup with an old version of twrp that has a fatal bug when you restore an EFS. I was truly relieved

Hey, Thanks for taking the time to help.
Device: Nexus 6P
Previously Working ROM: Pure Nexus
Recovery Type Was: TWRP
So, I was on Pure Nexus just fine and decided okay! It's been a few updates I'll just update to the newest version. Went ahead and did a Clean Flash, wiped everything in TWRP except the Internal Data, proceeded with a Flash for the new Vendor Image and then to the newest ROM. Restarted and an immediate boot loop.
Thought okay, whatever. I'll just use the my backup that I have! booted into TWRP did backup.. still boot loops. At this point I'm pretty upset cause I know I'm in a pretty terrible spot now, so I decide to do a Factory Image complete restore through Fastboot flash-all.bin.
CONTINUES to boot loop after that, also doesn't even install the stock recovery or something because after a stock flash it shows "No Command". Decided okay, I'll flash TWRP and attempt a factory reset in there, do so. Still boot loop.
So yeah, here I am.
Any advice?
The bootloop of death may have caught up with your phone. When did you get the phone, you may have to rma the device. There is a thread here that many have the same issue. Some have gotten rma out of warranty some didn't. You may want to try.
Hey, the "No Command" is actually stock recovery. You should see the Android on its back with it's chest plate open or something like that. A red exclamation mark in a triangle as well, IIRC.
When you're on that screen, hold power and press and release volume up and that'll take you into stock recovery. If that doesn't work, do it the other way around. Hold volume up and press power.
If you can get into stock recovery, you should be able to use ADB to pull your files, at least.
My 6P screen crapped out yesterday and I just had to pull data myself, let me know if you need any help.
Thanks for the replies, still stuck in a boot loop even after trying another Factory Image in case the one I got was just no good.
Still nothing, was able to get into the recovery even with the no command thing to Factory Reset/Wipe Cache and the problem still persists.
I'm at a loss at this point, I even tried to flash each file in order manually instead of with the flash-all command anddddddd nothing In the end, I'll probably try and RMA since I'm still within a year.
Anyone been through the RMA process want to give any tips on the process? Should I re-lock the boot loader before sending it in?
Don't even bother, you're screwed basically. Call Google or Huawei were you bought it from and ask for a out of warranty RMA. I got mine only last week after they had it for a week. Prepared to be given the run around if this is with Huawei. Google is currently out of 6P's so you might be given credit if you bought from them, that's a big BUT. Good luck and I hope you have a backup of your files off the phone.

Actually, I'm still within the 12 months. But I know that the whole Custom Rom thing kind of voids that. I did end up calling Huawei and ended up getting the in-warranty RMA started but... kind of scared cause I'm not sure if the whole flashing the thing with a non-offical ROM gets flagged some how.
Should I call back and specifically request an OOW RMA? Or just take my chances with the In-warranty RMA?
They do not care about custom roms. Just send it in with a factory reset. I sent mine in with Android O and they were fine with it
I'm sorry I don't know who to turn to for help. I have a Nexus 6p and it is stuck in bootloop. I'm phone illiterate so I don't even know how to go about fixing it. Are you able to get into recovery?
I have a bricked LG G2 that is stuck in a boot loop.
I was running a custom rom and lent the phone to my ex-gf and she tried said yes to OTA update. Then instead of telling me she attempted the fix the phone herself and in doing so used TWRP to wipe backups/all data/everything.
I can get into TWRP. I can use adb sideload.
That is it. No recovery mode, No download mode.
Can't get device detected by qhsusb_bulk
I think I need to fix the stock firmware/image. LG flashtool doesn't work and I think that is because I cannot boot the phone into android and because I can't get into Download mode.
Here is a semi-revelant thread on XDA, I posted there but haven't had a lot of replies, I doubt many people check the G2 forums as its an old phone at this point, yet its still in perfect condition, has a 1080p screen and runs fast.

Please please help. Ill paypal someone $75 if they can help me get it working.
Thanks
Which variant? D802? Which firmware were you using before, kitkat, lollipop, stock or custom ROM? PM me if you want, I have bricked and unbricked mine many times

D803
I was running a custom rom. I *think* it was lollipop.
Basically the phone sat in my desk for two years without use as I had a work from home job and could get by with a free app on my iPad, I lent it to my ex and this happened a few days later
I now need a mobile phone for a new job I am starting and this phone is still beautiful I would really like to use this instead of dishing out multiple hundreds of dollars
Not a problem to help. I've bricked my old G2/my wife's G2 not less than 10 times, and all gonna Ok later. If you has TWRP saved backups - then I can help unbrick it even if it stuck on "LG" logo! Can PM me foor details
As long as EFS is not wiped or you have a backup you can just flash a new ROM with TWRP right? Or flash a backup?
As long as you can access TWRP you can also connect to USB in case you do not have any ROMS stored on the phone and transfer them that way.
So I just picked up a clean used International 6T. Was going through the root and update (I did the Android 10 update through Oxygen Updater) process and all that, things were going great, then out of nowhere they weren't and I had a complete black screen. I've literally been up all night trying to fix this thing, then again out of nowhere it actually boots, and I was able to use the MSM tool to restore it to that earlier version, then proceeded to get back up and running again.
Thought, phew, dodged a bullet. Nope, after getting rooted and TWRP installed, transferring a bunch of files over from my old SD card and restoring apps through Titanium (again, everything was going great again), and yet now all of a sudden I'm back where it all started earlier, stuck at the 'The boot loader is unlocked and ....' boot screen, it just hangs there, I can reboot into recovery just fine, but no operating system.
I'm literally about to pull my freaking hair out and try and sell this thing if it's going to keep doing this, I've never had a phone act like this one has (prior phone was a Nokia 8, headache). I have friends/family who haven't heard from me in a couple days now because I'm out of a phone and I need to get this thing working stable.
Can anyone help or shed some light on why this has happened again? I didn't update to 10, left it on the last stable Pie (begrudgingly), didn't flash any custom rom or anything, it was restoring most of the titanium apps just fine (some just hang there, not sure what that's about) and now I can't reboot into the os. To say the least I'm beyond pissed and annoyed at how much time I've lost on this thing.
Please please please help if you can, I'm not a newb to rooting (already rooted this one twice) but I don't know what to do at this point.
Thank you in advance, let me know what/if any info is needed.
Edit: I think I know/understand partially that magisk is to blame for this and reinstalling it fixes it, though I just did that through TWRP and it's still stuck on the boot screen.
Edit: Yup, right back where I was, device now shows as HS-USB QDloader..... in device manager. What gives? I have to use the MSM tool again? Why? Why is this happening...I've never had this much trouble with a phone
Try a clean install. Don't root and don't restore the titanium apps. Install them fresh. If your problem persists then it may just be hardware. But something you are restoring may be causing the crash due to the way it is trying to restore the app data.
I had similar problems. For me it was my self-created magisk module that ran without problems under Android 9. As it seems, there are also problems with modules from the magisk repo.Could be the case with you.
Clean install of the apps, after doing another MSM restore? And trust me, I won't be installing ANY other magisk files other than just the magisk.
Is there any way to save all the work I just did though without having to start over again via MSM? I'm guessing not....sigh
Grrrr...ok before the MSM tool worked, the phone was just unresponsive. It's back at that stage where the MSM tool times out and doesn't do a darn thing to save the phone.
I swear this thing is all over the place, now I'm in the bootloader, yay. I guess I'll try a wipe in TWRP and start over.
One thing I forgot to ask, is magisk the ONLY option available for root?
The question would be, how did you root.
TWRP is not working when you don't follow the instructions which involves OldKeysFlasher.zip.
Otherwise you have to flash Magisk with a patched boot image, be sure uyou have one for OOS 10 Stable.

I hope that anger is directed towards yourself because you can't hold the device or its manufacturer responsible when you get into the flashing game.
If you had done some reading, you'd know that TWRP doesn't play well with Android 10 and upgrading from 9 takes a very specific procedure. There's a dedicated thread for it even. Happy searching. You may also want to take a peek at my posting history for some pointers.
One more thing, are you absolutely sure it's an international device and not a converted T-Mobile version? Because that can cause a major amount of troubles.
Wrapped with delicious Fajita [emoji896]
I'm well aware it's my own doing, part of the frustration is having too many sources of information all claiming they fix a 'thing'. There's the "fix it with fastboot" camp who doesn't like MSM, and there's the MSM camp that helped me the first time. Phone is currently dead/black screen, going to try MSM again, and will check out the info you provided.
And I'm sure, double sim tray, does not flash a pink tmobile screen and/or no branding of any kind on the phone related to tmobile.

Just remember that dual SIM trays are easy to get and if it's been converted from TMO to international version there will be no indicators till n you try to flash A10. Best bet would be to treat it as a converted TMO, if it is the info in recovering and flashing a TMO device will work and if it's truly an international version it will work too. Best of both worlds.
I'm 99% certain, by the label on the box, etc. Regardless, I'm to the point now that I can't even get it to boot to TWRP after 'fastboot flash boot twrp.img', it just does nothing and when I try to boot to recovery it bounces right back to bootloader. I've been trying all afternoon to fix it with no luck.
Was android 8/oreo good on these phones? That was my sweet spot and I'm just gonna downgrade if possible, there's too many things I don't like about 9 and 10.
hey all,
Saturday morning a wake up to my alarm on my phone (SM-G950U T-Mobile Stock since new) and turn off the alarm and proceed to check email and scroll social medias. A few minuted later phone turns off and starts boot looping. Occasionally it would boot to home screen and i could unlock it but then maybe 30 seconds later it would start boot loping again. Now it either just boot loops or boots straight to recovery . I have tried flashing current firmware in case it was corrupted and i have tried accessing it through ADB. I know for a fact USB debugging is on because I just used abd to pull wifi passwords 2 weeks ago, but when I try to [ abd devices] if comes up as unauthorized and I cannot proceed. I know everyone will suggest a factory reset, but I am hoping someone has a trick for extracting files. I dont care about most on my phone, but I would like to save the pics from my GF and I trip this past august. Apparently I didnt have my photo library set to sync to cloud -_-
thanks

update: it appears there is a pattern. it boot loops or boots to recovery (after a blue failed system update screen) 99% of the time. the 1% it boot fully and then crashes is only when battery is 0% . it for some reason is only trickle charging and isnt getting enough juice when it does boot fully to stay on . But if i leave it charging a while it will then only boot loop or boot to recovery. Strange...any way I had enough time this past boot to reauthorize usb debug.....wish me luck with adb
....nevermind. still shows up as unauthorized

Ive had similar cases happen with older models. May be time for a battery. They will do crazy **** when the battery crashes. When you flashed stock firmware you lost adb authorisation. Need to get the system back first for that.

Cheapest fix in my opinion. I saw another thread a guy dropped his. Now detects 9008 how to fix. More than likely a phone wont just not boot. Or lose programming unless a hardware issue. So if it was just running and quit. Not modding stuff really. More likely than not its gonna be some form of software. But hardware.

Yea some one tried to root it using the edl safestrap thread. Only wsy to fix it is filled the steps and reflash jrkruses pie rom. One of my mother boards are in the same state. That's the only way dm verity fails. Is his rom method.

Looking for any help or at least clues about what is wrong.
I was on ArrowOS 10, updated OTA to latest build two days ago, all was fine. Tonight it suddenly rebooted and when I unlock it, the desktop says the OS is loading, but it hangs, and then eventually reboots, bootlooping.
I had a working Nandroid backup, so I restored that from TWRP. Still cannot get the OS loaded. Wiped everything, even internal storage, backup still had same issue.
Then I tried reinstalling an older build of the ROM that I knew worked for me and I get stuck on the "Just a sec" after choosing a language. Eventually it reboots and hangs on the "Just a sec" before rebooting again. Wiped everything again and I tried another build of the same ROM, same problem. More wiping, tried Pixel Experience, same problem.
I'm thinking something is corrupted but I don't get any specific error messages so I'm not sure what to do. I repaired the data partition in TWRP, thinking that was the issue, but still cannot get any ROMs to load.
Any guidance is greatly appreciated as the phone is useless in this state. Thank goodness I have all my data backed up, but I really hope the phone is salvageable. Thank you.

First of all good to hear you've got everything up and working again. Difficult to say what caused the problem, best would be to give these informations to the ROM maintainer/developer because he knows best what is changed in his custom ROM/OTA compared to the original stock firmware.
I would think it has been the OTA update that caused the trouble, OTA's are problematic for manufacturers and even more for custom ROMs with a smaller userbase and less employees.
My advice would be to avoid OTA updates if possible, often it's better to (dirty) flash the whole ROM by hand if available.
But the exact reason is not easy to find out, as said check the ROMs thread or PM the maintainer.
If you're in a situation like you've been it's always a good idea to flash original stock firmware, it brings the device to the most stable and recommended state.

Okay, I was planning on dirty flashing the next update anyway. I usually do since OTA's often don't work for me, but this last one seemed like it was. I'm definitely notifying the developer. Thanks again!
