I have it too. No help so far.
Download the app "battery calibration" from the market, and follow the instructions in the app.
No use man tried all the things recommended battery savers ,calibration ,stopping services blah blah .... etc .I be live is time to say goodbye to this rom and return to plain old Eclair. It is no fun to worry when the battery will go flat on me!
Set min CPU to 19 MHz (only in custom kernels)
No lag, reboot, etc at all.
i feel also, my x8 got faster battery drain...any solution about that ?
did u guys try wiping the battery stats in CWM??? it usually helps. i had battery drains everytime i newly installed gingerdx.
Some of the tips to save your battery i learnt overtime in XDA posts thanks to those threads.. sry i dont remember the exact ones
1) Disable Haptic Feed back. ( The phone vibrates during certain UI interactions and hard button presses)
2) Keep your phone's brightness low(less than 30% if possible). If your phone has a Light Sensor, then enable Auto Brightness so that your screen's brightness changes according to to your surroundings light levels
3) Download RAM manager(requires root, if you haven't rooted your phone check out here) and keep your RAM free soa as to avoid many apps running uselessly. You can check out about RAM Manager here and download it.
4) Use Juice Defender Battery saver. This app does a neat job and really saves your battery life.
I use a Sony Ericsson W8 for now and I get a battery life of roughly three days with moderate use!
To know more about Juice Defender and to download it see here.
5) Charge your phone occasionally to enhance your battery life.
6) If you use a Custom ROM and Custom Kernel you can make use of Undervolt modules.
7) Use SET CPU (requires root, if you haven't rooted your phone check out here) to underclock your mobile processor when your phone is not in genuine use.
8) Apps like Facebook for Android, Music etc occupy your RAM even after you close them. They run as an actual background process rather than a Cache Background Process.
So goto Settings -> Applications -> Running Services to close them manually(This frees more RAM as well as increases your battery life)
9) This one is for rooted phones with Clockworkmod Recovery or xRecovery. In case you face an abnormal battery drain try this. Charge your phone to 100% and reboot your phoneto CWM menu or xRecovery menu and select advanced and Wipe battery stats alone and reboot and charge your phone for another ten minutes and Voila! your phone battery would last longer than it normally did!!!
10) Uninstall unused applications so as to prevent battery drain.
Dont forget to hit the thanks button

Hello Guys, I may have figured out the battery drain problem. I was previously using Froyobread on my W8. I decided to upgrade it to GDX so I flashed it.
Before flashing, my battery was at 25-27%...Right after flashing though, I noticed that it went up to 46%??? (My phone was not plugged through USB or charger during update process)
Could this be the reason for the so-called battery drain issue? Meaning the phone "thinks" its fully charged even if its not?

u better wipe the battery stats after u install a custom rom like GDX ..... charging the phone to 100 percent and then wiping the battery stats keeps the phone in a stable battery condition and there wont be battery drains.....
Okay, so I noticed that the batt drain was unacceptable the first time I installed gdx (it ate like 2% every 5min on standby) so I read all the advices here and did my own combination.
Heres what I did...
I switched back to froyobread then fully charged the phone. I then reset the bat stats thru CWM then charged the phone again. I did this like 3x coz every time I reset the stats, it would drop 5-8%...after that, I then installed GDX and once again, fully charged it the wiped stats thru CWM and using battery calibration. After that, I noticed a big change in bat life. Its now about 12hrs running under normal usage (a few calls, sms and some wifi), the batt is still at 88%...whereas before, it would have been around 30ish already when I was running froyo.
Could it be that GDX jumbles up the numbers when it is installed on phones with bad battery stats?
Just sharing my experiences...
OT: GDX rocks!

If I flash a samsung firmware the battery drains normally... Even with overcome kernel and stock rom the battery stays at normal drain. When I root the tab the battery flips out. anyone can help?
Try to use "BatteryCalibration" from Market. But first you have to root you device.
Thanks for your try, but I´ve made ´t often...
I allways callibrate my battery and my device is allways with rooted roms...
I don´t know what is happening but I think I ve a hardware problem...
hm...read this some time back when I had problem with my battery life...
basically is to open up the tab, unplug the battery cable, wait for 5 mins, re-plug in and "ta-da"...my tab battery life is fixed. credits to henrylam...

[Q] What is draining my battery

Hi All,
For the last month I have major problem with battery life.
While the phone is NOT in use (like over night) it drains almost 10% per hour.
I didn't install any new APP. The ROM version is Samsung stock 4.3
I installed 2 Apps GSam Batter Monitor and Wakelock detector.
As you can see in the screen shots the Kernel is the major consumer (about 90%).
I will appreciate your help.
Antivirus, task killer/clenat etc?

Thats realy bad... Disable all GAPS (except Gmail and Play Store), any unnecessary apps (Task killers, AV etc). Let the battery go down to 5%, turn off the phone and fully charge it. Try WakeLock detector if no improvement.

Back up your stuff and reflash the FW. I would suggest using KIES 3 and in Tools option Emergency Recovery. It will completely wipe your phone and flash latest FW. When finished, boot up phone but don't set up. Do hard reset (either via Menu or use the 3 key combo) and you should be ok...

Delete it. Its a bad app. Do only battery draining. No more Because android its not the same like windows
Or battery is old.
Either your battery is so old that it's just had it, or you have a serious issue somewhere.
Why has no one suggested the app 'Better Battery Stats'? Install that, charge the phone to full and when it's at 5% screenshot the stats and/or save them and come back and post them here.

i'm also have problem with battery drain issue and after checked with wakelock detector app here Wakelock detector
it was wechat app that have wakelock several time say 2000 times a day.
then i used xposed name per app hacking to prevent app wakelock and it solved my problem..
Hi,
I already installed wakelock app.
Here is screen shots.
Please advice.
Thank you
Your wakelock is kernel related. It could be GPS, bluetooth, using the wrong governor...there are so many things that it could be that it's impossible to guess.
Use Better Battery Stats as has been suggested. It gives a much more in depth report of battery use.
Yeah,it's hard to guess when related to kernel...mine is related on app itself

Hello!
It might not be a ROM issue and it may be actually an issue caused by some apps. Facebook and it's craps, but also Play Services drain alot of battery and also eats alot of memory.
1) Install BetterBatteryStats (aka BBS). There's a free xda version attached at the end of that post.
2) Charge your phone to 100% and unplug it.
3) Use your phone as you did until now and next time you need to charge the phone, open BBS before doing that and check what has drained your battery (wakelocks, alarms etc.).

Battery or system problem

I have problem with battery or system. When the battery is 100% charged, I wait a few minutes, then disconnect the power supply. I leave the phone, I don't use it. After a few minutes or longer, a few percent of the battery drops. After restarting the phone, thinking that some processes drain the battery, the battery indicator shows 100%. For example, before rebooting the battery indicator shows 93%. After restart, the battery indicator shows 100%. Battery percentages decrease faster before restarting. After a restart, a little slower. I don't know if it's the battery or the system's fault. I am currently using LineageOS 16. I don't have applications that could wake up the smartphone. I also use Greenify + Xposed.
The first 10-15% of battery drain much faster than the rest for me as well. Probably a calibration thing or maybe battery's bugging out., dunno. But I'm pretty sure it's not a system problem as my phone's working perfectly fine otherwise.
Are you running on this kernel

I bought new extended battery. Problem is gone. I have 6-9H SOT.
Most phones will lie about the battery percentage from 90%-100% due to how batteries are optimized.
