Hey guys, Im on rooted N preview on my 6p right now. When I first got my device around December, I had a strange bug which let my complete internal storage go into another folder above it. I just deleted the files, and everything was okay again. It seems like it has somehow returned, but this time I cant delete the folders/files with any Filemanager. I have added a few screenshots below for better understanding. So basically some files from my Internal Storage duplicated into the emulated folder, but they are files from around a month ago. It wouldnt mind me, but there is a 4 GB Twrp backup in there which wastes a lot of space. Any help is appreciated. Also sorry for my bad English, im from Germany

hi,
i have a rooted LG P700 with CM10.1 and CWM,
my issue is all my apps and system use sdcard0 (wich is part of internal storage) as external, while sdcard1 is ignored, most of the apps don't have settings to change save file location. in a few days, the 2gb of internal storage is filled, and moving all files by hand is a pain.
is there any way to swap the two storage locations that works on the P700? there seem to be plenty solutions for samsung phones... none for LG though...
i've tried editing the vold.fstab like i've seen in some tutorials, but it only renders the external SD unreadable, restoring the vold.fstab brings it back...
i could really use some help with this, i just bought an 8gb SDcard, to find it's useless
i appreciate any bit of info you could throw at me!
bump please?
if 2gb are full only with games, i can suggest to use "Directory Bind" apk, but only for games, i don`t have any ideas for others apps
i have mostly apps installed, and the kind that create their own files, like the camera app, that needs to place the files somewhere. thank you for the reply!
please, someone!
are there any methods to do this? as i said everywhere on the internet there is no solution for the p700. modifying vold.fstab works on most devices, not mine though... can someone adapt this solution to the p700?

i've attached the framework.jar file
i'm not good at all at scripting, tinkering, and i dont want to brick my phone. please!! i need your help!
:crying:
i don't believe no other L7 owner has this problem, or is annoyed by it...
may be we don't install lots if apps so that 2.3 gb is full,,,u guess if nothing has helped you,,,try titanium backup and move an app to sdcard
Sent from my LG-P700 using xda app-developers app
Hi,
I've recently updated my Bell SGH i377M to 4.3.
Being a noob and a dumbass, I didn't think to backup my data, especially after they've mentioned in the update "and I'm paraphrasing: your data should be safe...however, you MAY want to backup..."
After the update, I've noticed that all my settings, accounts and files were gone.
I've rooted the device to try to restore them using various recovery tools I've found, but the only files I kept finding, were the ones I've actually deleted and none of the ones I was trying to recover.
I've tried root explorer to try to access /data folder for any backups, but no luck...
That being said, I've noticed, that the available memory on the internal is 8.7GB out of 16GB total and I haven't really used the phone since the update (trying not to overwrite the deleted files), therefore I still treasure the thought, that my pre-update files can be still buried somewhere in the phone...
If anyone could help out with some advise on how to recover, I would be eternally grateful!
I have some very special photo moments and videos I cant stand to lose ((
Thank you in advance and hoping for some Christmas spirit over here! :good::good::good:
If the update deleted ur Internal SD and u hadnt a backup data.... I think u dont gona recover nothing. Im sorry :crying:

There is still a question of the missing ~6GB of data space. When I connect the device to the PC it shows only 9.7GB Total out of the 16GB my device's storage shows.
I've read some threads on this forum about people finding their files in data/media file, moving them to /0 folder and gaining access...but my /data/media folder doesn't contain anything useful...
Are there any other locations on root, that might contain the pre-update data backup?
Thanks again for any leads!
Hey I have a weird issue with my internal storage lately and cant figure out what the issue is or find anything really online about it.
I have a Galaxy S5 with Android 5.0. The problem right now is, that im having way more internal storage occupied than it should. If im connecting my phone to the PC, it says that 2,04 GB are free from 11,6 GB (so around 9 should be full). This is ridiculous though, as currently I only have a few apps installed and some fotos. The weird thing also is, if I copy all the files to my computer, its only 101 MB ??!? When im looking in the storage menu, it says that 9 GB are from applications (also listing internal ones), but how can this be? Is there anyone having a fix or a link where this was already described maybe?
did you try emptying the cache?

If it says 9GB is taken from apps, then find out which ones are using up most of the room and remove them...
Android itself takes up a fair whack, along with touchwiz and bloatware cr4p
Okay I managed to remove some of the data from google services apps, like chrome and maps, but actually a phone restart after that freed a lot of internal storage again. I cant remember having this happen like that before.

You only can copy 101MB from your phone due to file name restrictions...the file path is too long somehwhere in the Android folder app data, use smart switch to backup and it'll backup all used space (idk about app data)
Hi! This is a very sad (and weird) problem, my sister has this phone and she has been using it for a while but a week ago she decided to buy a new SD card because she was running out of space. Everything was fine, I inserted the SD on it and the phone asked me if I wanted to move the files from the phone to the SD card. I accepted and the phone started moving them. I thought that it was safe to do that but I felt terrible when my sister told me that there were many missing files, in the case of the photos and images there are some of them that "appear" in the gallery but they are corrupted files and it's impossible to open them. In the case of the audio files there aren't any of them and they actually disappeared from both phone and SD card. I hope that you can help me because I don't know what to do.:crying:
Thanks in advance.
PD: sorry if my English is bad, it isn't my native language.
hey have you tried using some recovery software on your computer? there is a good chance that a recovery software might be able to recover your data. i once recovered data from a corrupted hard drive on my mac, i don't remember the software's name though.
I'm having some issues with trying to figure out how to free up space on my S5. I recently had to encrypt the phone to keep getting school email and it erased everything, however I'd been having issues in the past with low data notifications even though my apps and files are only taking up 1-2 of 12 gb total.
I went through root access and I've gone through a few menus looking for large files and I can't find anything. At this point, I tried doing a factory reset back into cyanogen and that didn't erase those files either.
I'm really confused as to why this is happening and would appreciate any help. I stopped updating nightlys because my phone was stable enough for day to day use and I was happy with it.
Can anyone please help advise me on how to get back to baseline since factory reset didn't clear the space? Or point me to a few threads to try to figure it out. I've spent all day trying to figure this out and I'm getting nowhere.
Edit: Internal storage says 11.17 of 11.58 gb used. Apps are only taking up 888mb. I feel like android system files are taking up the rest due to some error, but I can't figure out what's doing it. Already did a factory reset and dalvik cash reset. I lost all my apps when the phone encrypted and it says there's insufficient storage to add any now even though they were there this morning.
Thanks so much!
I managed to clear out enough space to download DiskUsage and in /data I have files marked lost+found that are taking up about 10 gigs of space!
I tried to delete the files through the program since I've read that these are safe to delete, but I get an error message saying that the files don't exist.
So I made some progress, but I'm still stuck! Does anyone have any insight? It seems like there's a lot of corrupt data here for some reason.
