I tried flashing with TWRP to a custom cyanogen rom, as per usual.
something must have gone wrong in that process, im stuck in a bootloop
when i try to flash to a stock firmware it's the same thing over again, just another bootloop (i've tried with different types of Odin)

Please wipe your phone as you probably dirty flashed. Just factory reset it and you will be back up and running.

Okay. Download your stock firmware and then flash through Odin. Or u can use the Samsung software as one of my friends did. Either way if u have download mode you have a 99% chance of actually getting it to work.

So does Odin actually say fail or does it pass? And is there a message of failure?

There's no message of failure it simply passes as it should, just like when i root or flash any other samsung phone
It's just the boot loop
Can u get into recovery? Or only download mode? Do the button combo to get in if you can. Just trying to see what you can do.

I can get into download mode (hence i can actually get it to do something with Odin) However, when i try to go into recovery the boot loop continues
as in, it does say in the upper left corner that it's booting into recovery but then it bootloops over and over
Same problem with my niece phone. I can go to Download mode but not to recovery mode.
flashed Official rom from SAMmobile with G900FDXS1BPH1_G900FOLC1BOJ1_G900FDXU1BOE1_HOME.tar.md5
passed the Odin but still bootloop.

Remove SD card
I had this same problem with download mode working, but recovery mode causing a boot loop.
The boot loop stopped when I tried rebooting without the sd card inserted.
I think I may have been able to insert it back in and access it while recovery was booted, but the problem should be fairly easy to fix if you can still get into download mode and are able to get it stop bootlooping this way.
I have the same issue, tried kies, tried clean and dirty flash, and it just keeps on bootlooping to oblivion.

Actually, download this cwm zip:

Now go into recovery mode, choose to apply update from sdcard and locate the downloaded zip and choose it.

i did it every time (also cache) when i flashed with odin

all of the above without pda, or any sub-group of these items..
it ends the same

Yes, I was able to get superuser working on 4.4, but when I tried to install TWRP via goomanager, something happened and I got stuck in a boot loop, I think it screwed up my recovery. I never got CWM or TWRP working so maybe I didn't actually have it successfully rooted.

That is because that file is for 4.3 and you already have the 4.4.
I checked twrp and it doesn't have an updated one for sprint 4.4 but it has a N9005 4.4 which actually worked on my phone even though I'm using a N900W8. If you want to try it out, download here.

Hello guys... I was given a phone that I can keep and use if I fix it, but this phone is stuck on the open padlock/custom logo just stays there (if I try to go to recovery it says AT&T found unauthorized software). I fixed that by flashing stock NC1 Recovery but that only eliminated the unauthorized software message. I have read every thread and tried everything... Even flashed NC1 Modem and Kernel also since I found them... Only thing I have yet to try is flash a full I337UCUFNC1 via Odin but cant find it (At least not free). It seems this phone will only take NC1 stuff. Any help on getting the full I337UCUFNC1 Rom for Odin will be appreciated. I have the zip version but that does not work form DL mode...
More info:
Galaxy S4 i337
Binary: Official
System Status: Custom
Knox void: 0x1
CSB-Config-LSB: 0x30
Write protection: Enabled
eMMC Burst Mode: Enabled
You can Odin flash NB1. That will work even on NC1.

Two brand new original cables, brand new usb/charging connector (Tried connector in another i337 and works fine), all usb ports tried on both pc's. It starts flashing then after a while I hear the usb disconnect and reconnect sound and Fail. I can flash nc1 modem, kernel and recovery all day without problems that gets me out of the Kies screen but no recovery either It gets stuck at the "Custom" logo with the "Recovery booting" on top left. if I flash a custom recovery i get the AT&T unauthorized software message. I'm writing this thread because I read and read and read and can't find a solution. Tried Odin 1.85, 3.07 and 3.09 all with same results. I was thinking maybe if I flash a full NC1 rom for Odin I can get it to work since all NC1 stuff flashes ok.

Seems I can flash MK2 all day long but nothing... Stuck at Custom logo and no recovery... If emmc is bad would it do a full flash at all? Did 2 full flashes with MK2 but everything else that I try to flash fails...
MK2 still does not make it boot but... Any ideas why I can flash MK2 ROM and not NB1 ROM???
I extracted system.img.ext4 from NB1 rom then converted to .tar using cygwin, all the bars loaded in odin but right at the point where it is supposed to reboot it failed. Should I try flashing with z3x?

Can you get into recovery mode? If it is just stuck booting to download mode only, then it sounds like you need to ODIN back to stock or use a debrick image. Your bootloader is locked so no TWRP recovery can be installed. You can use flash fire, which is like safe strap sort of, but your phone has to be booted into Android for it to work.

You are on the OC3 bootloader right? Try to install golden eye ROM, which is touchwiz based. Since the bootloader is locked, you can only install touchwiz based ROMs and I think Google play edition ROMs. Trying to install cyogen mod or any other AOSP ROM won't work. Have you tried finding the debrick image or the stock ODIN tar file? With all those errors, I would try one of those routes.

and i know you are a pro so you can drag my noob ass out of this situation
Have you tried this thread?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2674223
Is that the file you flashed in ODIN for NB1?
I'm no Android developer or anything, I just know the basic stuff. Most of what I know I learned from the XDA forums here.

plus i am pretty sure when i try to connect via odin my pc doesnt even recognize it being connected only in recovery adb sideload the device is recognized but do tell how can i use ODIN
Nope It won't brick it. Odin is pretty much the best fall-to option for every Samsung device whenever stuff like this hapoen. If you said you had developer mode on and USB debugging on then Odin is your best choice. First get Odin. Then get the latest Samsung usb drivers. Install the drivers and I'm sure when you connect your phone to the pc while Odin is opened it would detects your phone. Then we'll be good to go forward

i have all the drivers but the phones in recovery its not on downloading page so odin wont detect right ?
even if it does what to do next if odin works how do i get the right firmware my phone is rooted
First of you need to get your phone in download mode. Im guessing you're on stock recovery so that won't be of much help. If only your recovery was twrp recovery. But then I know your variants come with locked bootloader's so that won't be possible. Turn your phone off and press the hot keys to get your phone into download mode then connect your phone to the pc and open Odin. If it detects then we download a stock firmware of your phone's rom and flash it using odin. You can get a firmware to flash for your device from here:

all the links are dead one more thing i have some roms downloaded but they are not in the tar or md5 format is there anyway around it while using odin
https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=95916177934552137
This is another link I found to a lollipop firmware for your phone. And about converting ROMs to tar files yh it's possible. Mostly they are just different compression methods and could be extracted and modified to make a .tar file. But it can be tricky and can **** up if you miss any step. Let's try and make that a last resort

in my previous recovery i got it restart to bootloader this recovery KOT49H doesnt have it i cannot connect it to odin anymore is phone gone ???
Nope....on the contrary we are actually making progress. It's now shifted from a bootloader problem to a bootloop problem. I did some research and found out that the lolipop update was actually causing some bootloops on the s4 after installation. I'm going to dig in and try to find a fix for the bootloop. There are a lot of threads on xda addressing fixes for that problem. I'm sure we will find a working fix for it. You can try searching too.

Ok let's review what we have going on so far. Sorry for being away for so long though. Have been tight for some time now. So now:
No recovery mode? And by that I mean no stock recovery mode?
No download mode?
