I have the Galaxy Y of a co-worker, it suddendly started FC everything, till it just reboots.
I tried to open recovery and do wipe data / factory reset, and yet its like nothing, it goes up right where it was.
Its stock rom with hebrew, and I couldnt find this rom to re-flash it with odin, so im kinda stuck.
Anyone has recommendations what to do in such situation?
The hebrew menus (& RTL of course) is very important
Have you tried with CWM recovery by first going to mounts and storage then mount /data and then wiping it?

Actually, download this cwm zip:
http://www.mediafire.com/?22sf24gvospcf20
Now go into recovery mode, choose to apply update from sdcard and locate the downloaded zip and choose it.
You will be in CWM recovery, now follow the steps i told you on my previous post.

Hi guys.
After my first flash (with success) I had root and all was all right.
But now, I wanted to try litening ROM 2.0, I have to see, that I am not able to flash my device anymore. I tried with odin with 1- and 3-part firmwares,.. only Kernel,..tried with Heimdall, made factory resets thousand times.... after EVERY reboot my SGS2 is in the SAME state since before.
It is a state like I made a special recovery. Installed Apps (after first flash) were gone after every reboot. Token images, ... left....
What can I do now? There has to be a solution I hope ...!?

Hi,
what do u have on Odin display?
because, if you don't kill ALL Kies processes, it's impossible for Odin to connect to your device. (it was the case for me)
Try to kill it with your Windows task manager.
good luck.

I forgot to say that here in detail
Odin said PASS (in green) and before klicking start, the correct connection was signed with the yellow COM field.
There is no KIES problem, I killed all KIES processes in TaskManager before.
I discussed this in a lot of forms and nobody could help me yet.
There must be something in my configuration, that makes my SGS2 load a special recovery. (have NO titanium backup installed!!)

Does it boot? and which kernel/recovery do you have installed? which software were you running before you tried to flash to litening?
I had this problem going from villian to litening. I had to install official genertic samsung firmware to sort it out. After I did that I have had no problems with flashing roms.

Yes, it boots. But always into one same state.
I flashed it with XWKDD_insecure.tar (without repart and without PIT file) and then rooted it with "SuperOneKlick".
My Phoneinfo says:
Kernel_version: 2.6.35.7-I9100XWKDD-CL161513 [email protected]#2
Buildnr: GINGERBREAD.XWKE2
After it, cause I was very happy to have a rooted device, I installed AndroidWall, AdFree, AutoKillerMemory, NoLED and AutorunManager
that´s all I did. additionaly I tried to set up the UAString for the stock browser with commands like about:debug, about:config and about:useragent.
That´s all I can remember.
It looks like on the phone there is something, that ignores all flashed data on booting and loads a backup-state. whereever that could be loaded from .... .

No it loads what you have flashed last .
Use Odin and an stock rom KF3 with single part file flash without repartition or pit .
Then start again as your posts just show that you have flashed nothing at all .
That kernel is very very old .
Post where Odin fails and post phone details if it boots .
Follow lightning rom instructions fully .

Hey Everyone! So long story short, I ended up picking up a 8.9 tab and now we have a 100% confirmed working ClockworkMod Recovery!
So, quick and dirty instructions for users WITHOUT any form of CWM recovery on their device:
1) Download the attached ClockworkMod_Recovery_v5.5.0.4.tar
2) Reboot the tab into download mode
3) Fire up Odin 1.85 and put the ClockworkMod_Recovery_v5.5.0.4.tar in the PDA field.
4) Flash!
5) Reboot into ClockworkMod Recovery
Quick and dirty instructions for users WITH some form of CWM recovery on their device:
1) Download the attached ClockworkMod_Recovery_v5.5.0.4.zip to your device
2) Reboot the tab into recovery
3) Install the zip
5) Reboot
If, for any reason, you want to return to the stock recovery, simply download the P73xx_Stock_Recovery.tar and follow the instructions above (with odin)!
DISCLAIMER: THIS WILL NOT WORK WITH LTE TABS!
I kinda "bricked" my tab yesterday trying to create a recovery.
Now it just continually boots to the splash screen then restarts.
I can not get into recovery.
I can get into download.
I tried the ClockworkMod Recovery v5.0.2.6 but odin just hangs after setup connection.
Trying to download the stock recovery:

Thankfully Samsung devices are notoriously hard to brick
So is the tab still booting into the OS? Or are you ONLY able to get to download mode?
Also, what did you do to try and create a recovery and what did you flash? If I can understand what has been done I can help you get up and running again
As for Odin hanging at "Setup Connection" when you tried to flash my recovery, it is likely just coincidence more than anything. Odin isn't the most dependable application...well, it is and it isn't...but getting stuck at Setup Connection is a common issue.
First tell me what you did yesterday so we can figure out how to proceed. Then we'll go from there!
I kinda want to volunteer as I am familiar with ODIN coming from a Vibrant but what's stopping me is 3 questions with all due respect. What's the related thread you were talking about at the OP? Are you sure that is the right 8.9 Stock Recovery? How did you find it as there is (at least) no American ODIN image as of today (checked Samfirmware as of this post)?

Excellent -
This is the thread I was talking about in 10.1 section:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1307242
The recovery is standard, regardless of region. In fact, with the exception of precompiled binary modules, the recovery is even identical to that of the 10.1 tab
What I have done here is repacked the recovery image with a vanilla build of clockworkmod. This should work on both the P7300 and the P7310.
Give it a shot and let me know how it goes!
Neither got flashed via ODIN, but I too tried to install CWM yesterday via the market app so my recovery is messed up to start with.
After trying to flash the two the tab wouldn't boot and I got an error about a failed update.
Flashed the bootloader file below with ODIN to get it to boot.
Code:
ID:0/010> Added!!
<ID:0/010> Odin v.3 engine (ID:10)..
<ID:0/010> File analysis..
<ID:0/010> SetupConnection..
<ID:0/010> Initialzation..
<ID:0/010> Get PIT for mapping..
<ID:0/010> Firmware update start..
<ID:0/010> recovery.img
<ID:0/010> NAND Write Start!!
<ID:0/010>
<ID:0/010> Complete(Write) operation failed.
<OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 1)
Hmm ok...
So yesterday you tried the market CWM, which caused the tab not to boot at all? Then, you had to flash the bootloader to make it boot again?
I'm assuming you had a booting tab prior to trying to flash these files, but still had the borked recovery yes?
That is correct, but the recovery was fine when i got the device, I used it to root.
I know I should do a full flash but I don't want to lose all my stuff.
Also flahing the bootloader somehow removed the cwm ?script? That was forcing the tab to try and boot into the borked recovery on each boot.
Damn that app does a number on the poor tab...unfortunately the best course of action is really to completely restock the thing - flash an entire rom through Odin with a repartition.
Since you are able to boot, you can back up all your data with Titanium backup, then move the data off your internal storage and onto your computer in case it gets wiped by the Odin flash.
Now i really wish I had an 8.9 because I'm curious if someone who hasn't got the messed up recovery tries to flash my file if it will go through or fail like yours and the Geologist.
Any takers?

That'd be me. Once I backup my apps, I will (give me some minutes and I will post the result as an EDIT post). If it fails, worst case scenario would be flashing the Asian ODIN image since it is the only one available. That one displays everything in Chinese but I can change the language. Sidenote: Damn I wonder what is taking so long to bring an American ODIN image of the 7310 live???

EDIT: Oh well...it's been a while since I last saw a "device-!-PC" screen.
EDIT 2: The "device-!-PC" screen vanished after one or two restarts as if nothing ever happened.
That's really weird, because I can even flash the p73xx stock recovery on my 10.1 tab and it at least goes through...it won't boot into recovery, as expected, but it at least FLASHES...
Maybe next question - are you guys using Odin 1.85? Also, are you using the driver from Kies or did you install a standalone driver? Try installing this driver:
http://www.multiupload.com/ISBTL9TADO
And then flashing after. It also may be worthwhile to switch USB ports after installing the new driver. Don't mind the p7510 in the file name, it works with multiple devices.

Yes, ODIN 1.85. Will install that driver and see how it goes.
EDIT: Same result as pointed earlier, even after installing the quoted driver and changing USB ports.
EDIT 2: Wait a second. I think I might have figured it out. This does not work on an encrypted system, right? I think I'll unencrypt and then try doing this.
EDIT 3: Nope, unencrypted or not, it does not flash. Same result.

Not knowing WHAT you are flashing, makes it a little harder to determine what is going wrong.
Go HERE and flash this in Download Mode. This is the latest Stock 935A ROM, This will wipe Everything on the device, and it'll be like it came brand new

If you are currently on a ROM that has v4 boot loader's, part of your problem may be that you are trying to flash a rom with v2, v3 bootloaders
Sent from my SM-G935T using XDA-Developers Legacy app
so i do better go with the v4 bootloader and i will check if the pit file is uncheck, what should i put on the re-partition case of odin active or inactive?
by the way thanks for your help

i try to flash the G935a...PI2 rom bot without the CSC which i guess is the pit file right?
When you try to get the device into Recovery, it will appear like it isn't doing it or looks like an "No Command" error and it can take a couple of min to actually get into Recovery.
I would boot into Recovery again, let it sit for a few min. My bet is that it will eventually get into Recovery. Once it does, do a Factory reset, and then reboot into Download Mode, open Odin connect the device to your PC and install all 4 of the items from the Stock ROM thread, don't mess with any of the settings in Odin, just populate the slots with the BL, AP, CP and CSC

OK you got bootloader v2. Try to flash some older version of MM in download mode using odin
Like from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=67601581
From Edge of Galaxy Seven
You need to start by using the latest Odin, 3.12.3 for installing the original ROM. If you try to unlock, you need to go get the PrinceComsy version. PrinceComsy won't work for in-bricking a device, and if you have any of the stock versions of the ROM, you need the 3.12.3 version.

Hello everyone ,first of im experienced noob in rooting , flashing etc. Done it couple times , know how it work, but mistakes were made...
at this point i feel like im dying so i'll try to be short becouse im sitting around 5 hours at desk and trying to make this brick to work,
So since like 5 months ago i flashed custom rom , flash working twrp , everything worked like a charm ,
today found out there is rom called "GoogleWIZ" , put it on sdcard , went twrp , format , advance wipe , everything but sd and internal , flash bootloader (Tried both later), flash rom , phone keeps restarting ,
repeat with different bootloader , same problem , updated twrp , same problem , tried different rom, same problem , tried stock firmware , wont boot stuck at loading , tried another different custom rom , same problem. 4 hours of god knows what i were doing , tried "GOOGLEWIZ" , got some status 7 error.
One thing i notice that while i was flashing roms , it said "mount failed to mound no such file or directory andorid" , something like that , just before it "Succed" in flashing ,
Smart Switch wont recognize phone so thats not option.
Its possible that i didnt enable OEM Unlock , it says in downloading mode , FAP LOCK : OFF , OEM LOCK: OFF
Still dont know how to revert. :/
Now i just want to have stock android firmware back , any rom would be good too , just to unbrick it
Going to sleep now dead tired , i have faith in any of you guys , realy need phone for work and i cant afford it to be stupid brick.

Flashing older firmware than whats on device
Your phone says that you want to flash an older firmware that the bootloader doesn‘t allow... so try to flash the latest firmware for your device and try again... reply back if it doesn‘t help.
I flashed newer firwmare , it passed , thanks god ,
but then phone booted , "checking system update" -----> ERROR
, i went to recovery , wipe all , now its same old boot loop but it try to load samsung logo then it shutsdown and boot again...
edit: formated data , going one more odin flash , will say results
edit: Results are that we got one more boot loop

I think the problem you had while flashing the custom ROMs was the Data partition was in some format other than EXT2 and EXT4, what TWRP uses to recognize and write to the partition. A quick reformat under advanced wipe should've fixed the issue. Flashing the bootloader brings an other issue, since it won't allow for the flashing of anything under a set parameter.
I would suggest to try flashing the newest firmware for your device variant, without the BL tab. If that doesn't work, download the newest FW for your device, but instead of your region get BTU (I'm just assuming that isn't what you have). Again, load up AP, CP, CSC, but not BL.
If your ok with getting from SamMobile, here's a link to the BTU I suggest you to try. If not, look for the latest stock firmware for SM-G950F United Kingdom BTU.
I had a similar issue with my s7 edge not too long ago (last week), and this is how I resolved it. Please let me know if that did the trick!
