Hey,
Forgive me if I'm I'm the wrong spot. I've been getting really frustrated and couldn't get a good answer for my problem.
I have a Nexus 6P, running 6.0.1 with the March 1st patch, and SoundTrue Ultra in-ear headphones—Samsung and Android.
I love my headphones, and call quality is super clean, by the only thing is that in every single app the phone it's self uses the back microphone to record audio.
Like I said, everything works within the Android Ecosystem, aka "ok Google", calls and voice typing. It's just when I get to apps it fails to work.
Any ideas, I know you guys will be able to solve it more than anyone else.
Please help, love my phone but this is something I need going forward!!
Bump?
Which apps? Have you been in touch with the developers?

I have had an a500 since July. I am running a stock rooted 3.2 rom. I just got an iconia for my apple loving parents and we are trying to use them to video chat. Google talk was having issues so we tried the hangout in google+. The same behavior is on both iconias. As soon as the hangout starts, the mic is disabled. When I use my vivid instead it works just fine (they can hear me, but I can't hear them). Any suggestions on getting this to work?

I have the same issue. I'm running the stock 3.2.1 Android, and using the 2.3.0.240337 build of the Google+ app. I was able to have a webcam chat through Google Talk just fine a few hours before I tried the hangout.
We couldn't get google talk to be anything but a choppy mess. Facetime works like a charm. Very frustrating as this is the first time I have been able to crack the Apple armor and get them to try android.

None of those ideas helped. Still no mic.
I had the same problem. I could hear other people, they could not hear me. I installed a sound app (Master Controller Volume) from the Market and changed the outgoing call volume. Solved the problem.
The latest updates from Acer changed everything. Now I have such horrible noise in the Skype sound that it's unusable. With or without the volume app the sound is terrible. Good luck. I hope it works for you!
Hi, I recently started to have a call issue where people can't hear me over their phones. Seems to happen with iPhone users a lot. Doesn't matter if I call them or if they call me, the other person can't hear me, no matter how I position the phone or how loud I speak. But if I turn on speaker phone, than they hear me perfectly once again.
I tried disabling voice enhancement which seemed to help a little bit.
I was wondering if there was anyone else that is having a similar issue.
I am hoping this is something I can fix, and not a hardware issue like a broke mic.
I am rooted running Tmobile clean rom. No major mods or anything.

Hi
I bought a new motorola droid razr m,
I use it international (GSM and WCDMA) and sometimes the other side does not hear me (Like a silence). Is there any way to fix it? an app or something?
Please help It is a good phone but it does not worth it if it does not work perfectly.
Does it happen on speaker phone also?

Actually, I have a similar problem. When on speakerphone, the other person can hardly hear me, and so the feature is basically useless. And I've also noticed that the in-ear speaker is also on the low audio quality side. Is this a hardware issue? If so, might be time to upgrade...
i have the same problem from time to time but hasent happened since i updated to kitkat but its too soon to tell if the update did anything about that issue. one thing that i noticed if i pressed the google talk button on the top of the main screen it would strobe like there was st\eady sound waves going through no matter how silent the room was, its easier to test with google search button rather than make calls. (i would not recomend this uness you are out of ideas or just dont care) but i slammed it against a wall a couple times and whadaya know it started to work again. it may sound caveman-ish but maybe if youve dropped it few times something becomes slightly disconnected :silly: i got mine for free cause the screen was cracked slightly in exchange for some time fixing a friends xbox so i didnt really care about messing anything up any further but it worked for me.
Hello everybody. I need help regarding a serious issue I have. When I am in call and I activate the speaker phone the other party can barely hear me saying the sounds is really low. But when I tried recording a sound it has no problems whatsoever. I have no idea why this happens but its really annoying me. I would really appreciate if someone suggests me a solution on this one, cuz I couldn't find any by now.
Something is most likely blocking the top microphone of the phone.

Anyone please give me suggestion on what should I do, this is really annoying me..

Have you removed any cases etc. as mentioned above? If you have, to rule out any software complications flash a factory image.

Thing is when I use voice recorde, I hear it loud as f***, so there're no issues. Only when speaking and launching the loud speaker they say they hear me very low. And yes my display was broken and they replaced it, maybe they ****ed something, but since the Sound Record works well, where's the logic?
If there is a case it is possible that when you record sound, the device is recording through the bottom microphone which is not obstructed, and the top microphone you use during calls may be obstructed resulting in your issue.
Aside from that, maybe there is some sort of volume/speaker/microphone app that was installed that is messing with your mic levels during a call. I would still suggest to remove any 3rd party accessories and if the issue still occurs, than backup your data and flash the factory image.

Did you call the same person each time you were testing it?

No, tested with a lot of people with normal voice calls. Also tried Viber, Facebook calls - same stuff. My logic is this: since I am recording my voice with a voice program from miles away, that isn't possible to be the lower mic. So the speakerphone should work fine. But on calls its a different story, i tried without the speakerphone to speak away from the phone (mimicking as if it is a sound rec app) they hear me even worse. What could be the issue? I am confused
anyone...please answer guys, need desperately your help

No, but it hasn't anything to do with this. Tried several roms and kernels same results. I sent my phone for repair broken screen, after 1st delivery they even had the front camera not centered so i returned it back. Maybe the mic is broken? But if so, how come voice recording works well?
My phone app messes up when I use the speaker phone. Speaker phone works, but when I turn it back off to use the earpiece, I don't get get any audio through the earpiece anymore no matter how much I toggle the speaker phone, but the speaker phone will continue to work so I'm pretty much forced to use it if I enabled it. Been doing it since I first installed the Pure Nexus ROM on marshmallow and every update since then after multiple clean installs.
I've posted the issue a few times in the Pure Nexus ROM thread with hardly any acknowledgement, so I have to think this isn't an issue with the ROM specifically.
The earpiece is very sporadic though, sometimes it will work street using the speaker phone (or a BT connection to my car or headset) and sometimes it won't. Seems to be about a 50/50 chance, so that makes it pretty weird.
I've tried using the AOSP and Google dialer/phone app with the same issue on both and made sure they were set as the phone app in the app info settings. I also uninstalled/disabled the other phone app woke using the other to ensure no conflicts occurred. Not sure what else to try.
Of course I'm rooted, running Franco Kernel and not using Xposed framework.
Any help is appreciated.
Guess no one here has any idea either?
