Hoi there,
I'm currently using a QI-charging pad in my N9005 (installed Phronesis 5.1.1 N5-port) and want to use my S-view Cover as I did on 4.2.2 or something.
On JB I installed xposed fw and the app "S-View all the Covers" which bypassed the check for the chip and only checked if a magnet was present, like the way it is in the Korean version of the N3 or something.
Again, I have a QI charging pad installed and as such I'm unable to use the chip of the sview cover, since the pins are occupied by said charging pad.
The app of course doesn't do jack on lollipop and now I'm left with a situation that's slightly frustrating. So, is there any way to get the s-view function back without ripping out the qi pad?

I bought my Galaxy S4 1 1/2 weeks ago and already spend something like 100€ on accessories.
My first NFC-Tags (1k mifare classic) had to go back because they won't work (had the original cover on my S4 at that time)
Then i ordered the original "S Charger Pad" and "S Charger Cover" and some days later NTAG203-stickers.
I just love the ability to charge it wireless. When the new NFC-stickers arrived none of them were recognized.
My Xperia Z tablet had no problems with them.
For some reason i removed the "S Charger Cover" from my phone and voila ... it worked.
Also no problems with the original, flexible cover, but with the charger-cover ... i can rub the stickers all over the back - nothing happens.
In a german android bulletin-board some ppl told me, that they don't have any problems with S4 + Charger cover + NFC.
I contacted the Samsung-Support and they told me, that my problem is very common and that the qi-copper-coil in the cover prevents nfc from working.
So what is it now? NFC is not working for me and Samsung tells me, that this is normal.
But on the other hand there are tests of the cover and other people telling me, that it works.
Does anybody here have a clue, what could be wrong here ?
Some information:
- Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-I9505 (Android 4.2.2), original battery, no root
- original S Charger Cover (EP-P100IEWEGWW) bought from Amazon (manufact date 2013-06-19)
- NTAG203 Stickers
- when i lift the lower end of the cover about 1cm it works
solved ...
Problem kinda solved.
Since the cover actually has a build in antenna fpr nfc to prevent the problem it had to be a problem with the mainboard/battery/antenna.
I've put a little piece of paper right on top of the contacts for nfc (upper right) and closed the inductive cover.
The funny thing - nfc worked now. So i thing the 0,1mm of the paper fixed the connection between the contacts and don't damp the signal of nfc.
Now i can charge inductive and still use the nfc. I'll see if i can finde some better solution than a piece of paper - like two little drops of conductive varnish on the contacts of the cover.

Same problem here. I was conviced that the cover integrated an NFC coil as well as a QI one.
So you have a samsung case with nfc built in and it doesnt work unless you cover the contacts and let the battery nfc do its job? Is that correct?
As I have no nfc working on my phone and it annoys me, all stock too
Alright,I got the new Note 3 and it came with an S view cover. The cover is 100% genuine from Samsung. The cover works perfectly fine when I got it.Then I was notified for a recent software update,so I did install it.But after rebooting, the cover does not work anymore. The S View window does not show up.Tried the settings, reinstalled the cover but still doesn't work.Any help?
My phone is the N9005 4G LTE model.
Hey guys!
first of all I did a search in all sub-forums and honestly it didn't help. so I'm asking here
I tried to find an original quickwindow cover in my city, but no success. so I went for a replica
It's working fine, but has a really annoying problem. when I flip the cover and fold it to the back of the phone (which is kinda necessary to use it with one hand). this leads to quickwindow widgets enabled and screen become useless.
I'm using Cloudyflex rom. I need to know if this is normal? or it's because of higher than standard magnet in this fake cover that make the sensor activated even from back! or perhaps rom related (which I doubted, based on my search)
thanks in advance

Hey,
I think is your case,
it's work perfect with Cloudyflex or CloudyPro !
I have the following Android Device:
Samsung Note 3
Model No: SM-N9005
Android version: 4.4.2
Build No. KOT49H.N9005XXUGNJ2
Security software version: MDF v1.0 Release 3
Issue: The S-Pen fails to get any input on the screen. I have tried & noticed the following:
1) S-Pen detachment notification works when taken out.
2) Air View options pops up when pen is detached.
3) Air view options work when pressed with finger but not with S-Pen.
4) S-Pen works fine with other Note 3 devices
5) Other S-Pen does not work on my device
6) Made sure the S-Pen features are enabled under the settings. Tried enable/disable as well.
7) Tried the following testing using *#0*#
a) TSP Hovering: Works fine with the finger & the S-Pen(as a trial)
b) Wacom Test: Doesnt detect the S-Pen input at all.
c) SPEN Hovering: Doesnt detect the S-Pen input at all.
8) Tried to tighten up the screw within the S-Pen as a trial although it works with other Note 3 devices, however, it didnt work !
9) Did a Reboot as well!
10) The phone does not have any magnetic case either! FYI
11) Tried changing the nib with the new ones as well!
Could anybody suggest a work around for this problem? I am not sure if a factory reset can solve the problem, has anybody got that working after a factory reset?
I have all my data synced with the my google account, so with a factory reset, would it be restored back once signed it back on the phone? Will the Apps get uninstalled as well?? Do you think it is possible to re-install the S-Pen SDK or something?
Please advise!
Thanks
Pierre

Try running The self diagnostic mode and test the phones screen.
self diagnostic mode - *#7353#
check if the spen is working on that.

If that's the case then your spen has gone bad. The way the spen works is there is a coil behind the screen and the spen draws power wireless from this coil.
This kinda makes it sure for the problem to be hardware problem not software.
One of two things could have gone bad.
1. The coil itself
2. Or your s pen is not able to take the wireless power..
If you have a friend who has the note 3 then try using his or her spen on your phone. .. That would be a good way to find out if your spen is bad or the coil thing.

Is the coil covered under warranty?

Sorry if its the coil. Think that may be expensive.
Not sure how much the new coil thingy will cost you and not sure if its a part of the device screen...
If it is a part of the screen then they will probably replace the screen.
The sPen costs about 50 $ I think.
If you are under warranty and you have not rooted or done anything with the device Samsung should repair this problem without charging you but can never be sure..
Did you drop the device or something before getting this issue ??
Hi what's up I'm asking 4 some help... my Samsung galaxy note 3.... ofter a root my note 3 every thing was working until about a week ago... Hey guys, I've been trying for a while now, and have only found dead ends.
I purchased a Spigen Slim Armor View for my new S5, not realizing that their functionality had been changed since the S4.
Having easily realized that all the 3rd party apps I can find for "fake" S-views are god-awful. I started looking for a solution to bypass the check for an S-view chip, and force S-view mode on bootup. My phone is rooted, and I do have xposed frameworks, but every mod I try just doesn't work. Does anyone have any solutions? I'd rather not have to settle for the awful apps, or have to buy an authentic case/chip to physically mod my case.
Any and all help would be greatly appreciated guys!
Tried a couple more scripts and kernels last night... Still no luck.
I'm hoping someone here has a solution!
Sort of in the same situation
I just bought the IC chip from aliexpress, 5$ for 2 and got a screen protector
After installing and inserting a small magnet from the headphones on the lower left of the spigen s-view case, the phone now recognizes this and forces the phone to show the s-view display
the only issue i have now is that the view in the spigen is smaller than the offical samsung s-view case, hence the camera and answering a call is cut off
is there anyway to mod the s-view window on the phone to make it smaller?
