Can U guys outhere tell me if its possible to use Nokia Pen to send notes to XDA2 (Qtek 2020 in Portugal) ?
I can't seem to pair it, even with BTtools.... :?
(Portuguese do it better 8) )
From the Nokia Website link at:
http://www.nokia.com/nokia/0,4879,5806,00.html#2
It states:
"1. What phones are compatible with Nokia Digital Pen?
The Nokia 7650, Nokia 3650, and Nokia 6650 mobile phones, among others. Compatible phones must support the Bluetooth specification 1.1 and the necessary Bluetooth profiles.
2. What Bluetooth profiles does the Nokia Digital Pen support?
The Nokia Digital Pen supports the Generic Access Profile (GAP), Serial Port Profile (SPP), Dial-up Networking (DUN), Generic Object Exchange Profile (GOEP), and Object Push Profile (OPP).[/b]
3. What Bluetooth profiles must a phone have in order for it to be compatible with the Nokia Digital Pen?
OPP and DUN, along with the other mandatory Bluetooth profiles.
4. What do I need to do to use the Nokia Digital Pen with a compatible phone?
You need to pair the Nokia Digital Pen with the phone, using the Bluetooth pin code provided in the sales package.
5. Do I need to install any application on my phone in order to be able to use the Nokia Digital Pen?
No, you don't.
6. Can Nokia Digital Pen be used with organizers?
The Nokia Digital Pen can be used with organizers that are compatible for use with digital paper. However, such use requires software that is not included in the sales package of the Nokia Digital Pen."
So having regard to all that, I'd say far too many things rule it out. Certainly the Profiles needed are not available on the XDA...
Does anyone know of any bluetooth heart rate monitors that they know for sure works with windows phone 8?
I know, for example, the lumia 920 has 4.0 hardware but wp8 does not support 4.0. I found this out the hardway by buying a polar H7 before doing any research
I have looked up various monitors such as the Polar H1 with bluetooth, which uses bluetooth 2.0, and every site I find says not supported by iphone or windows phone.
I also found a post on endomondo's web-site saying that they do not know of any devices compatable.
It will be nice to have an app that can capture the code from any controller.
The on board application is too limited .
The use it could be for example : to capture air condition controller code so you can control you air condition and make your galaxy the true multi (universal) remote controller.
It will be nice if we can export - share the codes.. :good:
note: if i can i will like to help in development of the app... please p.m.
I had a short test with the light sensor from test mode, this should be possible.
However I'm not a developer.

what do you mean? What test? There must be evidence it can receive IR orders not only transmit them. And to have SDK for sensors, does anybody know if samsung released the SDK for sensors? I read that somewhere but maybe Im wrong and it was about HTC One. THX
open dialer
type *#0*#
choose sensor
choose light sensor
Hold remote next to the sensor and see the values changing.
So I suppose I it possible to record and play back via the IR diode.
There is no explicit IR receiving diode onboard.
ALexander
if you want SGS4 to learn codes from original dedicated IR blasters (e.g. air conditioning), you need IR receiver in it! For control home electronics you need IR sender (transmiter). So, if it has no receiver, it cannot receive commands and learn, so the only option is to load it from a file or some online code source...undwerstand?
are you crazy? The light sensor is not IR its only for automatic brightness change!!! LOL
there are two IR sensors one above display on the front side for air gestures and one on the top side for the TV, DVD,...control...learn smth about it and read manual!!! Its not a shame LOL
i am not sure but i think that if it isn't a receiver we could use the camera as receiver.
correct me if i'm wrong..
too difficult and complex ...or not possible...somebody has to confirm if it has or doesnt have IR receiver, if so than its only the matter of simple apk...

Did you try what I wrote?

if im not wrong air gesture is nothing but ir receiver right? why not use it for learning function if in case the blaster dosent have ir receiver diode.
It doesn't have to be a receiver (front) for the air gestures to work..it can be a transmiter.
But the front camera hase to be able to read the signal for thr gestures to work ( trasmiter project and camera read the projection that translate to object to complete the gesture)

Yes and what? it only changes the values as you cover it by your hand there is less light to receive and thats all. According to this phone is minimising/maximising the display brightness..very simple principle...useless because it has nothing to do with IR.
It is also able to detect the color of the light received, the only question left over is whether the detection is quick enough to be able to get the full signal out of the IR-signal.

Think you are all flogging a dead horse!
You cannot use the camera to decode IR signals!!! You need a dedicated IR receiver which is something the S4 does not have afaik. I am pretty sure if Samsung had one in there they would have marketed the S4 as a learning remote.
On another note from playing with the S4 I think the IR emitter is pants! It has a very short range and has to be in direct line of site of the receiver on your equipment. You would all be better off purchasing a wifi connected IR emitter and downloading the appropriate app if you are really set on using the S4 to control anything but believe me the novelty will wear off very quickly.
ir Remote
I remember a Symbian software > ir Remote < , to which could be added the codes, also manually from file, of many device...
So, should develop an app or porting to Android...
HTC ONE has it!
Guys, the HTC ONE has the ability to read IR codes from remotes and repeat them with its built-in app. I tested it myself, my bro has one. I have S4 and it would have been nice to be able to do that also. Any updates on this matter?
Cheers!

My first PDA Dell Axim X3 a couple of years ago .....6-7 on Windows Mobile , had an App (don't remember anymore the exact name),
with a learn function. Means I was pushing Power button in the app and the Power Button on the original remote control while the IR from the remote was facing the IR of the Dell. and he learned exact to swich on and off the Digital TV receiver.... and I did the same for all buttons
, volume , programs up and down etc. ..
Do we have also an app like this for IR powered Androids ?
Need IR remote Code
Can someone help me with a IR remote code for an AirCo named Airwell
the remote name is YX1F.
Thank you in advance

Also had this on iPaq rx3715, ten years ago, haha.
guys what about those IR recievers that samsung includes with some tvs (it's an extension if u have something placed in front of tv's main reciever
i think it has a 3,5mm jack so it could go inside the s4/note 3's jack and we can use it to get the codes?
Has anyone had any success with the IRBlaster? I've tried the AnyMote app, but none of my devices have worked so far.
My Sony TV works just fine with the stock app.

Thanks. This is a dumb question, but what is the stock IR Blaster called? I can't find one.

The stock IR blaster app on the phone (called "Smart Controller") works fine without any problems with my Samsung Ultra HD Smart TV UE48HU7505XXE
Smart controller works on my Samsung UE55Fxyz, but you really have to point straight at the IR receiver.
But the selection of devices is extremely limited; no AVR at all for instance.
SmartControllers works Ok, but not perfectly
It works great on my philips tv ( no smart ), but it doesnt work very great with samsung tv
Has anyone got any other IR apps to work? I tried IR Universal Remote and couldn't get anything to work.
One User mentioned that Zaza remote works well.
In my case all buttons work well except the number buttons. They jump and have multiple presses.
So it is not possible for me to select, say Channel 451. The moment I press 4 for the first number, it auto presses 2 more times and I get 444. If I press 1, it will select 111.
I have a Sony TV
I've tried quite a lot of apps from the store but none works so far.
luckily the default apps work fine with my LG tv & satellite tv decoder
Hou van teach the stock app IR signaal so you van actually make every remote work.
Nopes, teaching the Smart Controller did not work. Infact since I have an Airtel STB which is not there in the default, I had to teach the remote in the first place to make it work partially
Has anyone tried Peel app? That worked well for IR remote on my Samsung S4

IR Transmitter?
Hi,
Can IR sensor record signals and then play back it (for remote controls that are not on app's list)
There was such feature in my previous m8, I think there should be an IR transceiver in device instead of IR Blaster (transceiver can send and receive, blaster only can send)
The stock app works great, especially the IR learning feature.
Here is a tip though, sometimes following the instructions (To hold down the remote button for 2 seconds) is not good enough.
I find that the best results come when you press the button on the remote rapidly, using this method, I have managed to copy 10+ remotes in my house without with all buttons working.
Have anyone got the ir blaster to work? I have tried the pre-installed Smart Controll, Peel, Anymote and a few others. But the P10 plus is not communicating with my Philips TV, Xbox, noor Pioneer receiver. My old Galaxy 6 worked, and this was the only feature that I really wanted on my new phone.
I bought mine in Sweden
Mine worked straight out of the box with the default app. Have LG TV and BT Youview+
I'd DOA it. Also try remote learning, point a remote and see if it can receive signals from a controller...as the phone can do this too.

Hey!
I got mine running with Anymote SmartRemote. There was only one IR-BlasterI to choose and it would not send any command initially. I had to select "Use alternate IR Commands" in the settings to get the blaster working. Now, it works with all of my devices.
Might be worth to check if other Ir-Remote apps provide a similar option.
And no, I do not get anything from promoting the app...
[edit] Huh... Just realized that this was the first post after 4 years of silent reading. I deflorated myself over an IR-Blaster...
