Have anyone got the ir blaster to work? I have tried the pre-installed Smart Controll, Peel, Anymote and a few others. But the P10 plus is not communicating with my Philips TV, Xbox, noor Pioneer receiver. My old Galaxy 6 worked, and this was the only feature that I really wanted on my new phone.
I bought mine in Sweden
Mine worked straight out of the box with the default app. Have LG TV and BT Youview+
I'd DOA it. Also try remote learning, point a remote and see if it can receive signals from a controller...as the phone can do this too.

Hey!
I got mine running with Anymote SmartRemote. There was only one IR-BlasterI to choose and it would not send any command initially. I had to select "Use alternate IR Commands" in the settings to get the blaster working. Now, it works with all of my devices.
Might be worth to check if other Ir-Remote apps provide a similar option.
And no, I do not get anything from promoting the app...
[edit] Huh... Just realized that this was the first post after 4 years of silent reading. I deflorated myself over an IR-Blaster...

I know most PDAs only have a small IR range. Has anybody tried the wizzard with one of the many pocket pc remote control software? What was your range like?
I tried noviiremote deluxe and right when i opened up the app it told me that the wizards device is incompatible with the program. so i guess wait for an update on that app, but they're many more remote control apps. give some of them a shot and see for yourself maybe?

No other remote app will work - none of them supports the TI CPU. You may want to check out http://pocketpcmag.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=17874 for more info.
THat's annoying. On my old SE P800, the tv remote worked srom as far away as I could get, come 8 meters!
There is also something else why remote control software won’t work.
IR-DA hardware is not compatible to work as a remote control transmitter because it is mend to be for data communication between two IR-DA devices.
But if your PDA can do it anyway then there is extra hardware build in to do this.
The HP2210 can do this and it worked wonderful.
I’ve been in several waiting room where televisions where shouting all the time. And with the 2210 I could switch them off or lower there volume

During the official Samsung announcement for the SGS3 on May 3, they talked about integrating MirrorLink support into the phone. This is actually why I purchased this phone. I recently purchased a MirrorLink compatible car stereo, the Sony XAV-601BT. After several frustrating hours, a Samsung rep told me that only the Korean version supports MirrorLink. He suggested downloading an app from the Play Store called "Sh.air" by a company called M&SERVICE. It's the only thing that he knows about that would make the SGS3 compatible with MirrorLink at this time.
The problem is that the entire thing is in Korean (I think...I can't read it). It doesn't do me any good to have a Korean interface on my car dashboard. However, this means that the MirrorLink standard is software based and (probably) only requires the MHL connection in a cell phone.
Does anyone know if there are any MirrorLink compatibility apps in development? I would really like to get this working in my car. Any help or information is appreciated.
I'm using MHL with a Pioneer AppRadio 2. It's an option for you if Samsung doesn't implement MirrorLink for you.
How do you like your AppRadio 2? I was actually looking at that radio some time ago because I've generally had good luck with Pioneer. I couldn't find a lot of reviews about using it with Android, but what I found made it look like it's not very Android friendly. I've also read that it has a delay in the user interface. Can you give me some feedback about that stuff?
I'm mostly just interested in syncing my phone for navigation, phone calls, and Pandora. How does it work for that stuff with Android? Have you used Inrix Traffic with it?
I like the Sony XAV601BT because it's a solid head unit with MirrorLink capabilities. The AppRadio seems to try to be a phone interface first and head unit second.
Well, some things about the AppRadio 2.
It's definitely a phone interface first, car audio system second. Without the phone plugged in and operating it's a basic AM/FM receiver.
Android support isn't as good as iPhone support. There's less apps available and generally speaking it seems like Pioneer added the Android support as an afterthought.
Every time you connect your phone, the phone will prompt you to accept the PIN number that the radio sends it. Every time. It's highly annoying, but someone on avic411 has a tasker script that apparently has the phone auto-accept the prompt. I haven't tried it yet as my phone isn't rooted (I'm swapping it later today for the Pebble Blue that a buddy got and he doesn't want it rooted).
Inrix doesn't work on Android over the AppRadio. They haven't added support yet and Pioneer has a lockout so that you can only use apps that have been approved.
Google Navigation is another app that doesn't work, although Google Maps does. If you want full voice navigation the only app that they have available is Waze at the moment. Waze isn't bad, but I dislike the cartoonish appearance of it.
AppRadio supports Pandora Radio. If you have it, it can natively control it through the deck. Pandora's not available in Canada, so I haven't tried it.
AppRadio also has an ipod interface on the main screen. You can't get rid of it either, which is highly annoying if you're like me and don't have an iphone/ipod.
There is a very small lag in response when you use the touch screen. I believe this is because it uses Bluetooth to communicate with the phone. It's there, but not really that annoying unless you're trying to scroll using CarMediaPlayer. That said, CarMediaPlayer is a half decent app for playing media on the AppRadio. I find it's a lot faster and doesn't lag like the stock Music app on the phone.
Edit: I implied above that you need Pioneer approved apps for it to work. You can use other apps, but they won't have the ability to control them through the deck.
For my use, it sounds like the Sony unit is the better way to go. Hopefully MirrorLink gets some support, either third party or otherwise.
Thanks for the honest feedback about the AppRadio 2.
spumington,
Samsung will release its MirrorLink app in the next weeks.
The solution is software only, but just an APK. You need to modify your system in order to make it work.
And it's not related to MHL, just USB.

Where did you get this information? I also purchased the Galaxy S3 partly because it was the only Android phone announced to support Mirrorlink.
Hey, I just bought a nice S18 smartwatch. The guts are the same as the LEMFO and ZGPAX models so I guess at least someone has tried this device. I quite like it - The display is nice and sharp and it's comfy to wear. However, I just CANNOT get this thing to connect to my LG G3. It pairs straight away but that's as far as I get. The box gives a username and password to a website that does supply apk downloads for all their products - except the s18. There is a download for a U8 device, which I gave a go but to no success.
Can anyone help? This fairly decent smartwatch is looking very likely to end up in a drawer next to my old nokias, digi cameras and earphone nests.
Just ordered this watch. I have an LG og pro. 7-10 days and I'll post how I make out.
I believe the Flylink S18 (ZGPAX S18) is a standalone phone. I don't believe it supports smartwatch (called Smart Bluetooth Sync by ZGPAX) functionality in terms of pairing with a phone to get notifications. The ZGPAX S12, S15, S28, MQ588, and S19 support Smart Bluetooth Sync.
That's the case. No sync. But calls are clear. Text are a pain but work. Guess next ill put some music on it.

Hello there,
maybe 3, 4 days before I wanted to use IR app as normal, but anything works! I want ask you, where might be the problem and how can I test it as hardware or in other ways. Simply, find, where is the problem.
Can you help me?
AFAIK G2's IR only supports QuickRemote, so you can only test it there. Try to add a custom remote, and test with an actual remote if the phone receives its signals.

As I tried it before this happened, more apps than QRemore had been function. If anything changes, don't know.
I wanted to find some made remotes, but I got any manufactures. TV, set-top box, sound, blu-ray, DVD, Air-con, projector - everything is empty. What happenned and how to repair it? :/
It looks like my phone doesn't receive signal from handy remotes. And as I wrote above, I got empty manufactures at all.
And Quickset SDK is not frozen. :/
EDIT: I found app, which gives SELinux permissions, now it is function. So thanks all.
Has anyone had any success with the IRBlaster? I've tried the AnyMote app, but none of my devices have worked so far.
My Sony TV works just fine with the stock app.

Thanks. This is a dumb question, but what is the stock IR Blaster called? I can't find one.

The stock IR blaster app on the phone (called "Smart Controller") works fine without any problems with my Samsung Ultra HD Smart TV UE48HU7505XXE
Smart controller works on my Samsung UE55Fxyz, but you really have to point straight at the IR receiver.
But the selection of devices is extremely limited; no AVR at all for instance.
SmartControllers works Ok, but not perfectly
It works great on my philips tv ( no smart ), but it doesnt work very great with samsung tv
Has anyone got any other IR apps to work? I tried IR Universal Remote and couldn't get anything to work.
One User mentioned that Zaza remote works well.
In my case all buttons work well except the number buttons. They jump and have multiple presses.
So it is not possible for me to select, say Channel 451. The moment I press 4 for the first number, it auto presses 2 more times and I get 444. If I press 1, it will select 111.
I have a Sony TV
I've tried quite a lot of apps from the store but none works so far.
luckily the default apps work fine with my LG tv & satellite tv decoder
Hou van teach the stock app IR signaal so you van actually make every remote work.
Nopes, teaching the Smart Controller did not work. Infact since I have an Airtel STB which is not there in the default, I had to teach the remote in the first place to make it work partially
Has anyone tried Peel app? That worked well for IR remote on my Samsung S4

IR Transmitter?
Hi,
Can IR sensor record signals and then play back it (for remote controls that are not on app's list)
There was such feature in my previous m8, I think there should be an IR transceiver in device instead of IR Blaster (transceiver can send and receive, blaster only can send)
The stock app works great, especially the IR learning feature.
Here is a tip though, sometimes following the instructions (To hold down the remote button for 2 seconds) is not good enough.
I find that the best results come when you press the button on the remote rapidly, using this method, I have managed to copy 10+ remotes in my house without with all buttons working.
