Thats the stock Firmware. You must flash it with TWRP
Make a Full wipe and then Install the zip File.

Arrow [Q] Kindle fire bricked, adb : device not found

Hello,
I know there are many similar threads but i have a slightly different issue: I was editing /system/build.prop and did a reboot and i got stuck, right after the Kindle Fire logo pops up it goes black at the time the animation is supposed to start, computer reads it fine but ADB nor Fastboot will pick it up.KWRP also doesn't work, Any help?
IMPORTANT:
I have a backup of a TESTED and WORKING build.prop, if i can mount the Kindle in windows i will be able to apply the backup and fix it that way.
FYI:
I don't exactly care about keeping my data anymore, I just want it to turn on and be usable...
When you first try to power on the device and the amazon logo is still being displayed have you tried to get adb shell rooted or set it to recovery mode boot? Without the firefirefire bootloader it is going to be difficult to use adb unless you can at some point get adb to connect. Just out of curiosity, why didn't you also flash the boot loader instead of just flashing twrp? All I know to try is either kfu and keep hitting 0 to recheck device status and maybe you will get an Online+Rooted read out at some point before the system attempts to load & crashes.

I try to get into recovery mode, I'm not sure why i didn't use FireFireFire, this is my first tinker with an android device, I tried KFU from the instant i pressed power button to the black screen and its just unknown device. Is it broke for good?
I have a crazy idea and i have no idea if it will work, but it's worth a shot:
After reading the Kindle Fire breakdown, I think i can take the kindle apart and get access to it's internal SD, my questions is this: can I somehow plug it into a computer?

So KFU is reporting unknown device? Sounds like you need to install the kindle fire USB drivers again. Is this on linux or on windows? unknown device means that it is recognizing a device, just doesn't know what device it is.. You need the correct drivers installed for the Kindle Fire, be sure to re-install those and try again.
When I was stuck on Fastboot I just reinstalled the Drives and then changed the boot over KFU.

Did you try plugging it into another PC to see if that PC detects it?

The fact that it goes black right after the kindle fire logo makes me think it's not stuck in fastboot (would be unlikely in a build prop edit) which is why you can't get fastboot to recognize; at the same time depending on where it's failing during the boot init adb won't load either.

First off; I seriously doubt you would be able to mount the sd from your PC properly. Rather than cracking the device I would try booting it from a factory cable, it should hopefully force fastboot mode at which point you should be able to resolve your issues.

Nexus 7 stuck on fastboot screen/bootloop...bricked?

Hi
Tried to flash a new kernel and all seemed ok (flashed phones and nexus 7 few times now) when I came out of flashing I hit a bootloop, I though nothing of it and tried to restart....same issue, so next I tried to go into cw recovery, no joy, it will not show again.
I can power/vol keys to android fastboot screen with start power restart boot and so on but if I choose recovery nothing happens, I am stuck with either a bootloop or stuck on android fastboot screen and not able to move from either.
I have tried the toolkit and most other things but the problem is it cannot see my nexus 7, even after installing drivers and so on the toolkit (top right) does not list my nexus as found, because of this I cannot reflash any stock firmware/recover/reflash cwr.
Not sure how I can get around this if my pc cannot see the nexus 7.
Thanks for any help

Hi
I cannot flash anything. On the fastboot screen I can scroll up and down powr off/start/recovery....if I choose any (apart from power off) nothing happens.
When I hook it up to my pc it cannot see it, nexus 7 toolkit also cannot see it, it does not list it as found so I cannot flash anything on to it, if I try it just says waiting for device, tried other things and same thing either waiting for device or asks if fastboot installed.

Thanks....but still get waiting for device, thats the problem, nothing seems to see it so I cannot flash anything to it.
You are already at the bootloader screen. Use your computer to fastboot flash a new kernel. Being able to get into recovery has nothing to do with it. You screwed it up flashing a kernel. Its likely thats all you need to fix it. Flash a new one with fastboot.

How did you get it to work? I have problem getting my device to be recognized. Stuck on boot loop too..
Hey man, how did you get your computer to recognize your device? Would be great to finally fix mine as this is the same exact problem -- computer doesn't recognize it even though in fastboot.

I don't understand exactly what you are trying to do, sorry: you said the pc does not see the nexus, "even thought in fastboot".. If you say even thought, it seems to me that you are able to access Android itself or maybe recovery? In that case I can't see the issue.. Sorry my fault, non english mother tongue
But, if have the device soft bricked and you are able to enter ONLY the bootloader (that is what we call often fastboot), then you should start to remove the not working fastboot drivers installed into your PC: launch the nexus in fastboot mode, go to Device Manager into your PC and search for a driver with an yellow exclamation point. This issue is very common so I hope that you have it, too.. So, uninstall that driver, then unlink the nexus from your PC; after a few seconds attach it to another USB port and see if Windows install a driver (it should). If this new driver doesn't work, too, or if Windows does no install any, try this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1426502
Hope it helps, let us know, see you!
EDIT: also, if you still have no luck, you should find a Linux or Mac PC/laptop and download the adb/fastboot binary files for that OS; this will definitively solve your driver issue ( @#ò#@!"@# Winzozz )

Hi sorry for not being clear. Basically I am only allowed to access the bootloader and my device is soft-bricked. I'm pretty sure I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers about a year ago when I originally did it, but I'll try again and let you know. Thanks!

[Q] D802 Bricked, computer won't recognize it

Hi,
I recently updated to the official 4.4.2 kitkat update.I then proceeded to root the phone, and then stupidly, installed CWM. I rebooted, and was greeted with an endless LG Splash screen. Now, I tried a HEAP of ways to restore to stock, all of them returning the same problem, my computer won't pick up my phone. In download mode, nothing happens, nothing in device manager, and same when I'm stuck on the LG splash screen. When I go into CWM, it then recogizes my phone, but the methods of restoring to stock won't work with CWM running in the background. CWM also won't let me mount the usb...
The methods return the same error: Phone not detected, please plug the USB cable and retry.
Ubuntu won't recognize the phone in all three modes, and another computer does the same thing. (Both Windows 8)
Methods of stock restoration tried:
-KDZ
-LGMobile support tool
-Ubuntu (This: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2582142)
Can anyone help?

Nvidia shield TV stuck in Fastboot mode

Hi I am having issue with a device which I bought and can not return. The nvidia shield pro 500GB is stuck in fastboot mode.
Every time I turn the device off and on all I get is the options you get in fast boot.
I have tried to boot recovery kernel, force recovery etc and I just get the same screen again.
I have tried to unlock the device to see if I can flash with factory rom but having no luck. When trying to unlock using ADB Fastboot I get a error on screen eventually saying can not unlock.
Error says (bootloader) Device cannot be unlocked.
OKAY [41.012s]
Finished. Total time 41.012s
I can see the device when I run the command Fastboot devices.
Any suggestions would be great. Thank you

Please be more specific, exactly what did you do before it got stuck in fastboot and what were or are you trying to do
I bought the nvidia shield from a auction so I haven't a clue what was done before. When I switched it on it would go straight to the boot menu and no further.
Ideally I just want to get the device to a state where it boots into the android software.

I have seen a couple people use windroid to unlock their bootloader when they ran into problems but I have no experience in that, it really sounds like the os is gone< i have had similar experience where I could get into recovery, but it would do absolutely nothing no matter what I tried, I had to rma . I know nvidia ssays if the device shows up as apx then its hardware failure
I'll give windroid a try, when you did a rma did nivida not question what had happened ?
Is there anyway I could clone another a hard drive from another nvidia with os on the drive?

No they dont ask what happened you just tell them the problem and they run you through some steps depending on the problem and if that doesnt work they start the rma process, You can clone another drive but from what I hear netflix thats installed on the shield wont work because its console specific I believe
Looks like windroid didn't work either.
Will speak to nvidia at some point next week to see what they say. Thank you for your help & reply much appreciated.
