And if you can try, yes, definitely connect your laptop to Ethernet, at least to get that out of the way.

[Q] Calling from PC via a WM phone

Does anybody know if there is a software to Call from PC, remote controlling the WM phone.
So calling someone from my PC, but using a WM phone connected in USB
Thank you
You can do that with the WM out-of-box MS bluetooth stack on Windows 7 PCs with Broadcom WIDCOMM bluetooth stack. Once they are paired and connected, you can make calls from the phone and have the audio/mic routed to the PC.
No extra SW is required. It all depends on the capabilities of the bluetooth stacks on the phone and PC.
thank you. I'll try that, but what is the WM out-of-box ?
(I'm also running Vista )

WM out-of-box is stock WM that comes with the phone. They all have Bluetooth connectivity built-in.
However, on the PC-side, you will have to connect with a Bluetooth adapter.

You can use Mymobiler. It works with a direct USB connection, you can control + use your phone through PC, print your phone screen, etc.

No MTP with my Nexus 7

I am having problems transferring music files or any files for that matter to my Nexus 7. I have tried manually telling my computer to update driver to MTP USB device based on another thread but it comes up with "code 10/ This device cannot start."
I talked to Google and Asus directly last night for about an hour each troubleshooting but it didn't help. I know it's not my computer because I can plug my Galaxy S3 into my computer as an MTP device and it works just fine. My Nexus will connect to my computer if its a "Camera" but it will not let me transfer files in that mode.
Has anyone else had this issue?
any advice?
If you wish to transfer files two or from the nexus 7 I am pretty sure it has to be done wirelessly. I move files from my computer through airdroid. It is free and available in the play store.

just try plugging the device into some other PC so that you could identify whether the fault is with the PC or the Tablet.
Try this, going from memory here...
This applies if you have used adb wit your n7
plug in
Goto device manager
Locate the nexus 7, probably under android device, I think
Right click, update driver
Choose let me choose
I think the next screen lists a box to check for compatible hardware or something similar, Check it
Click the MTP driver selection and then proceed.
This may not be 100% correct, but hopefully you get the idea. I just got my n7's last night and did a lot of stuff yesterday. This being one of them

Wtf no edit with the xda app?
I just wanted to say I read it forces to pc to default to the MTP driver with this method

Bluetooth Audio working well on Fire TV Stick OS 5

Recent information on this seems to be hard to come by, so I wanted to make it known that the current developer preview adds the "other bluetooth devices" menu to the Fire TV Stick and allows for connecting bluetooth audio devices. I did a quick test in netflix and had no discernable delay over the course of an episode. Connecting gives the usual suggestion to use 5.8 wifi to avoid issues, and I did so for the sake of this test.
Here's to hoping that it's not just an accidental carryover from the Fire TV that gets ripped out in the final release.
Excellent,
This was exactly what I was asking in here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/fire-tv/help/amazon-fire-tv-stick-bt-headphones-t2988850/page2
But I think no one had tried it yet, thanks for confirming!
PS:
What Netflix version are you using, the one that comes from the Amazon store, or the AndroidTV one?

The test was with the Amazon store version
Cool,
Just requested FireOS5 for my Stick.
No 5GHz WiFi here at the moment, will see how it will work with 2.4GHz WiFi used simultaneously.
---------- Post added at 10:26 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:29 PM ----------
Wow,
update came really fast.
I can confirm it seem to work quite well, even when using 2.4GHz WiFi at the same time.
Was streaming Netflix in 1080p. Very few glitches, but they might also be related to the Netflix app. Was quite enjoyable to watch/listen
Yes it works and 5ghz working on me tooo... Pls add an another wifi channel me 38....
I wish that when i start the fire tv , does my audio soundbar starting tooo and shutdown with fire tv...

Trouble connecting my Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime to my computer to transfer data

Trying to connect to computer and, when I connect, the computer (using Win7) doesn't detect the phone.
On the phone, when I drag down the notifications, it only states that the phone is charging, not that it's "Connected as a media device" like I've seen on many sites it should be saying.
I'd prefer not to reset the phone as I have image, music and video content that I've not been able to backup 'cause of that problem.
When going in the computer, in "Safely remove hardware and eject media", the phone isn't appearing either.
I already tried removing the battery, turning off/on the phone, different cables and different USB connectors on the computer.
Thanks for any help on that matter.
Pouksy
Download smart switch to back up your phone and it will also install USB drivers even if that doesn't work then if u have any other Samsung phone plug that in let it install the drivers ( if the phone is detected by the PC) then insert your phone from the same USB port. Even that doesn't work keep your phone connected to the PC and reboot it .

Xbox One Controller USB help

So I have seen videos on youtube of people using their Xbox one controller in the USB converter for the s7 edge. But when I connect my controller to my phone, it turns my phone off, and if I leave it plugged in tries to boot but gets past the Samsung logo. Then it reboots and loops.
Is there any way I could bridge it using my laptop?
Say if I plug my Xbox controller into my windows 10 laptop. Then I connect my phone via USB debugging.
I want this since I've just got the Gear VR and some of the good games require a controller.

A quick Google search showed that you can pair a Xbox one controller with the edge using Bluetooth, provided that your controller is able to be paired. The Xbox link above details that.
As for the USB adapter and the boot loop, sounds like it's a common issue when plugging an Xbox controller into the S7.
