White screen???what???

Hello everyone...I have an htc hd2 with rafdroid desire hd rom..its all working perfectly apart from the quadrant score(in the post of the rom there 3000 in quadrant,i have like 2220...bah..)anyway, sometimes my screen fades in white,i mean the phone is usable but all the screen its a kind of whiteshade or mask wherever u wanna call it,just restart the phone and will be fine..
anyone has the same problem???

Yes i have that white screen sometimes . But as long as it´s fully working after reboot i can live with that

i tried to read around in the forum about task killers..i use ATK the one with the green friend there....usually i get like 190mb free when i close all the apps...but after i while like an hour for example i reopen it and shows me like 15apps running.....like MAPS locations Gmail and RAPID search ..theres somewhere a better program or its just android going like this?..cuz when all the apps are running i have 110mb free..not 190...

btw....i dont open that apps...they open by themselves...

I got the white screen twice.. different ROM, one was MIUI and another one was Dorimanx.. when the white (or kinda like inverted) screen shows up the second time, I used the phone screenshot capability to snap it - the snapshot showed normal...
strange.. but yeah, as long as my phone is ok, then it's fine..

Yeah you can disable background sync in settings which will prevent some apps starting.
And you can set in ATK that it will autokill apps e.g. evry 30 mins so you will have more space...

Yes its this one!!!now im getting it quite often than before..usually when the battery is under 50%voltage...or when i dont have signal...

Me too - same white screen. Totally random - just happened now with 75% battery. Real PITA!

Any qiuck fix to bring the screen to normal exept a reboot?? I love this build and i have not time to change to a new build.

When checking permissions I noticed it had every single permission imaginable
So I went ahead and Uninstalled them. If anyone has some insight into what it is please be sure to share it.. thanks

Wow that's crazy but it probably doesn't surprise me since I just found out a day ago that after I disabled the pre-loaded Facebook application it automatically re-enabled itself and updated automatically. I disabled it again this morning and just now it prompted me it updated itself. Samsung or T-Mobile needs to fix this. If I explicitly disable something I expect it to stay disabled.

The thing is you have to force disable. Since the messenger is also built it. They end up enabling each other. I removed both of those as well. I just hope this isn't another thing like CIQ.

Both were disabled at the same time. The Facebook Messenger has stayed disabled just not the main application

Wow that is strange then....

Wow! I was going to wait a couple days before rooting, but I guess I'll do it immediately.

I would remove the T-Mobile App as well. That app monitors your phone. It also can see that your rooted.

are you sure? my wifi calling still works with it uninstalled

Not sure I think I saw it somewhere u tried texts and MMS with WiFi on?

lol, i removed it already... haven't tried mms.
i routed my messaging app to hangouts. so i don't know if it will make a difference anyways.

I reviewed that apk. Ims service doesn't have a third of those permissions. Not to mention this is a logger app not a service app. Amd ims service is just a couple kbs where as ims logger is 5mbs. Good find though.

My boy just deleted a few and his phone had to go back to stock. Ims is attached to so much. Go unto app manager go to all and look for com.sec.ims and see what it controls or is attached with

Agreed. My phone works fine without it as well. If it was tied to wifi calling, it would it permissions but the phone app?

Also the ims service is still present
Which is why i think the logger is unnecessary

Always on display 1.3.14 update question (June)

I swear that an update to the always on display automatically installed the other day. However, I can't find the app in the Galaxy Store to check. (Why doesn't it show up there? I'm sure that's where the update installed from) Anyway, I'm on version 1.3.14 now.
It used to be that if the phone was in my pocket or face down on the table that the always on display would turn off. I liked that behaviour. Now it seems that it stays on all the time regardless. (I do still have the "Keep screen turned off" setting enabled) Has anyone else updated and noticed this?
(I wanted to write a review question on the app but as mentioned I couldn't find it in the store)

I just tested placing the phone face down and the AOD eventually turned off as it usually does. So I can't reproduce your issue sorry. I'm using the regular S7 though.
Also, I can't seem to manually find the Always on display app in Galaxy Store either - quite mysterious.

How did you get the log? The update installed automatically today and I wanted to see what changed but I couldn't find the app listing.

Your able to view the log when you manually update and click into the app on this Galaxy Store. Samsung needs to fix this.

Yes, I've disabled automatic updates. Manual updating gives me much more control, and prevents automatic installation of updates which may cause problems etc. If everything's working well, I don't see much point updating (aside from security patches).

I have the same issue, it will not turn off after the update if the phone is in my pocket, prior to the update it did. Also the AOD Display is now not moving, it just stays on one place, which brings the fear of screen burn in issues. How can i disable/deinstal the update?

No need to désinstal,, after update the AOD is moving by about just one pixel,so you can't note it,,and it moves visibly each 1 hour.

How can I get rid of the update and go back to old version? Night clock only 18hrs... used to be whole day

Honestly i made a little experience to see if display is moving by one pixel a minute,,and what i found is that display is not moving at all,,expect once per hour.

why wont my S7 get AOD update?
My S7 (SM-G930F) is not getting the new AOD update - it is still on Version 1.1.06
I am not using cellular data, just wifi (which has a funny firewall - could this possibly be preventing update?) the wifi allow for most all internet functions, and other app updates, Play Store downloads, etc...
Can anyone find a way I can get the update?

Already found something I hate about Nougat on the S7 Edge

Got the Nougat update this morning like everyone else.
Immediately I notice a problem. Not a big problem in itself, but over and over this becomes pretty annoying.

Notice anything? The reply button is missing.
It only appears when the notification is expanded, as seen below.
Ok no big deal. But this means you have to expand your hangouts, messenger, and who knows what other messaging apps to get the reply button to be displayed. Every single time.
One of the big selling points of Nougat was being able to reply directly from notifications quickly. While this is still possible to do with this update, it will require expanding the notification every time. My wife's Nexus 6P has nougat installed and the reply button is immediately visible, no expanding notification necessary.
Is there a setting buried deep down somewhere that changes this back to how it should be? Even on Marshmallow the reply button was visible immediately, though not implemented as gracefully as Nougat, the button was still there without having to expand anything.

I realize it's pretty trivial, but this is not the behavior of stock Nougat. Samsung decided to give us an extra step for no real reason.

Unfortunately it looks like Samsung just decided to implement it this way. It happens with all messaging apps I've used thus far. My wife's 6P has the reply button instantly available, no expanding needed.

Where's the battery setting to turn off fast charging? I don't see this setting anymore...

I'm finding it difficult to organize grouped icons in the app drawer. If you already have 9 icons and you hit edit and try to bring one to another page it just won't drop.
For example http://i.imgur.com/WbpjOIv.jpg
I'm holding onto the play games icon soon as I let go to drop it goes back to the first page in the group. Yeah you can remove it and add it again but it'll be difficult to organize them to preference order.
Also did they take away the option in settings for your default launcher? I guess you can get to it by opening the launcher itself but I'm curious if it's just me or was it moved?

On a road trip and this prompt keeps appearimg: Cant sync profile: No Network. Will try again later. A little more info it seems to start when using mid Power Saving mode.
What can I do to stop this?

If the power saving mode is doing this, then you can either stop power saving or try to change settings in power saving, so it would allow sync.

You can go to power save mode settings and adjust options that prevent your phone from syncing.

I have the same prob... Shutting off all apps helps but only temporarily .

Background ... Android sync AND notifications interact.
So
I shut off notifications and the problem disappeared
Then
I turned them back on a group at a time until the error went off then back on once re-enabled.
Problem ?
For me it was "Storm Tracker". I had shut off background data for it but since notifications were allowed, it errors when trying to make a notification.
