If the power saving mode is doing this, then you can either stop power saving or try to change settings in power saving, so it would allow sync.

Is there a way for me to find out which app or function is causing this issue?
Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk

You can go to power save mode settings and adjust options that prevent your phone from syncing.

I have the same prob... Shutting off all apps helps but only temporarily .
I don't have power saving or data saving on

Background ... Android sync AND notifications interact.
So
I shut off notifications and the problem disappeared
Then
I turned them back on a group at a time until the error went off then back on once re-enabled.
Problem ?
For me it was "Storm Tracker". I had shut off background data for it but since notifications were allowed, it errors when trying to make a notification.

Low deepsleep at nights

Hello.
I need some help to stop battery drain at night when I'm asleep.My s4 lose like 10% while the screen is off all night long.
Wake lock detector app shows that Facebook and Messenger apps are waking the device even if I set wifi to be disabled at night.
I only need facebook syncing at day time.
Wakeup triggers app list

You could also turn OFF Auto sinc....and sinc when you need to! There is an app also in playstore called Greenify which hibernates chosen apps. I am using a combination of both and am losing no more than 5% battery when screen off overnight!
Ds Battery saver pro with a custom profile will do the work because on Greenify I have to hibernate fb apps manually every night.
Thanks for your help

What do I do with this message?

Intermittently I keep getting a pop up message showing the following. I am not sure which application is causing this to occur. Is there a way to find out which is the rogue application?

Hello!
This is a bug that Samsung is aware of and is trying to solve. There isn't much to do, other than ignore it or completely reinstall. It pops up every time you turn on wifi and connect to a connection. Hopefully a bug fix will come with the next update.

This happened to me
When the notification comes up, pull down your notification tab, then where the notification appears, tap and hold on the notification (long tap). You will get a pop-up saying 'take me to the app' or similar , tap that and it will show it was Knox Notification. Once you get to the App, force close, and clear data. This will stop it recurring until samsung issue a fix.
hi ,
Here is another take what it could be >
from what i read in my local forums, if you long press on noticfication it takes you to KNOX notifications ( thats giving notice ? )
( further it is a speculated that , most apps use wifi etc warning appears,when you switch wifi on .?)t
presently.. do not have his issue at all ,so cannot confirm above .!
good luck
The popup message is not a bug. Its a security feature built in by KNOX which prevents you from messing around with root.
Follow instructions on this thread to disable it.

Already found something I hate about Nougat on the S7 Edge

Got the Nougat update this morning like everyone else.
Immediately I notice a problem. Not a big problem in itself, but over and over this becomes pretty annoying.
Here is a hangout message notification:

"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Notice anything? The reply button is missing.
It only appears when the notification is expanded, as seen below.
Ok no big deal. But this means you have to expand your hangouts, messenger, and who knows what other messaging apps to get the reply button to be displayed. Every single time.
One of the big selling points of Nougat was being able to reply directly from notifications quickly. While this is still possible to do with this update, it will require expanding the notification every time. My wife's Nexus 6P has nougat installed and the reply button is immediately visible, no expanding notification necessary.
Is there a setting buried deep down somewhere that changes this back to how it should be? Even on Marshmallow the reply button was visible immediately, though not implemented as gracefully as Nougat, the button was still there without having to expand anything.
Lol the world is going to end without a simple reply button! We are all doomed! ???

I realize it's pretty trivial, but this is not the behavior of stock Nougat. Samsung decided to give us an extra step for no real reason.
Thanks for your input carlosfig.

Is it there on stock android, and could it be just an issue with hangouts?

Unfortunately it looks like Samsung just decided to implement it this way. It happens with all messaging apps I've used thus far. My wife's 6P has the reply button instantly available, no expanding needed.
Where's the battery setting to turn off fast charging? I don't see this setting anymore...
---------- Post added at 05:25 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:17 PM ----------
Anyone see the battery setting to turn off fast charging? Can't find anymore.....
EDIT: found it. Battery. Advanced.
I'm finding it difficult to organize grouped icons in the app drawer. If you already have 9 icons and you hit edit and try to bring one to another page it just won't drop.
For example http://i.imgur.com/WbpjOIv.jpg
I'm holding onto the play games icon soon as I let go to drop it goes back to the first page in the group. Yeah you can remove it and add it again but it'll be difficult to organize them to preference order.
Also did they take away the option in settings for your default launcher? I guess you can get to it by opening the launcher itself but I'm curious if it's just me or was it moved?

Volume warning

Hi is there a way to disable the earphone volume warning? Thanks
Sent from my SM-G950F using XDA-Developers Legacy app
Not that I'm aware of, but if you just make it a habit to put the volume full after every reboot (and dismiss the warning), it won't warn you again until the next reboot
Ok thanks. I'm just asking because I saw a video where someone disable it on galaxy s8

Settings - sound and vibrations - volume - click the three dots, media volume limiter, on, set all the way up. You can try that.

No warning after a powercycle and volume moved all the way up.

I power cycled my phone and it looked like it did not reset, that was because I had no Bluetooth hooked up after the reboot. You are correct, it does reset, and this is on a snapdragon phone in the US.

Are you using any third party screen off or Nova launcher gestures? If so, you may need to adjust their screen off timer as well.
I usually use greenify on all my phones but read that it is not needed on android 7 - not correct?

I do use Nova's double tap to sleep gesture to timeout the screen after 5 seconds of black screen etc.

I need greenify to make sure a particular app stays frozen, otherwise it will wake up very often and use lots of sensors/GPS etc and drain my battery. Can't get rid of it yet and till then I need it on my phone and hibernated unless I choose to manually start it.

Well, it is kind of personal preference. If don't have apps running in the background sucking up your battery life then you don't need it.

My phone is unrooted and stock so I use greenify adb commands to activate aggressive doze and wake-up tracking and cut-off to hibernate the background running apps.
