Might not be the best advice, but you could download a nexus toolkit to return your device to stock.
It's clearly covered in the root guide, did you look?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6p/general/guides-how-to-guides-beginners-t3206928
Read chapter 10. How To Flash The Factory Images (And Return To Stock).
just download the factory image and start from scratch

thats what i did and worked out for me.
I would never use a "toolkit" I study and learn what a Toolkit can do, then do it myself manually. That's how you learn.

I just used Nexus Root Toolkit instead and it worked. I selected the option: "flash stock and unroot". So I am guessing that I went back to stock JB 4.1.1 and the only thing needed is to root using the same tool?
I'm in a similar situation, but I rooted/unlocked manually on a MAC.
Flashed to a ROM but would prefer to flash back to the original one.

Guys. Take 5 minutes and learn some basic fast boot and adb commands. Then this kind of stuff will seem trivial.... Stop acting helpless and learn something here

Your point is right, but the delivery is wrong. All of us were noobs at some point and asked questions that seemed trivial to the more experienced HUMANS in the community.
True, we should all look around the forums and read, but, that's not the way to answer to people looking to incur into the flashng, dev, modding community.
Just saying, no offense meant.
Since updating to 420, my N7 has more bugs than a rain forest and runs like a bargain bin special. Is there any way to revert to 412 and get my dream tablet back? It is stock, un-rooted. Any help would be so much appreciated.
There's an easy way to restore your tablet back to 4.1.2.
Download Wug's Nexus Root Toolkit, then go here and download the 4.1.2 factory image for the Nexus 7 (this isn't essential as you can download an image within the toolkit).
Now connect your N7 to your PC with USB debugging on, and you can flash the factory image using the toolkit.
Edit: Okay wugfresh.com seems to be down. If you feel comfortable using adb and fastboot directly, you could use this guide.
Thanks for this. Have completed downloads and will attempt it later today.
Perfect tutorial here and every nexus owner should know how to fastboot their device back to stock. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1907796 very easy to do if you just follow the guide word for word.
How to Downgrade to 4.1.2 back agian!
I know, 4.2.x is a crap, 4.4.2 a bigger crap.
Method 1:Upgrade to 4.3, 4.3 is quite good.
One Problem with 4.3: in older versions of „Hill Climb Racing" like 1.9.0 (my experience) you can't hear the engine sound after 1.7 seconds.
4.2 eats'n'kills your battery and has many bugs.
Method 2: If you really want to get back to 4.1.2 like me (because i want that too) then take a look here:

Hopefully i could help you!
Hi All,
i received my device 7 days ago. The Devices worked perfectly.
Yesterday, i deciced to test the Canogenmod Nightly for about one day and then i want to revert back to stock. i downloaded the Image using Nexus 4 Toolkit, i flashed it manually with the flash-all.bat. I never flashed a custom Recovery, only temp-booted it with fastboot.
But after restoring the Stock rom - it is very unstable, Lots of warm reboot (X bootsplah during usage or idle mode) unstable WIFI.
so i think Google removed the Factory Image because of it (and the LTE Story, of course).
maybe someone took a full backup from the original supplied rom, (GSM Europe)
Any help would be appreciated .
Thanks
Edit: i tested with both Factory Image (4.2 and 4.2.1)
Isn't the stock rom what was on your phone before you flashed (and was fine)?

there must be somthing different, I didn't took a full Backup from the Original preinstalled ROM, because i thought:" i don't care, if i want to revert to stock ROM, i can download it..."
i think, i learned my lession
I have used the stock images available at phantasmagoria twice and they are perfectly stable.

Hi guys.
First off, just got my hands on a Nexus 4 from T-Mobile. Got it at an awesome $45. You can't imagine the ecstasy I experienced when it got here and it was 16 GB. Going from my LG Optimus T to this is mind blowing.
Now, after researching, I'm at a standstill. According to every search I've made on this website, and on Google, the only way to root a Nexus running 4.2.2 is to unlock the boot loader. That's my first problem. I've found no guide through my searching that gave me a solid way to unlock it. Could someone link me to one?
Second, the rooting process. I've heard that it, as well, has no one solid way to be done on 4.2.2. Again, any help or links would be appreciated.
I can't wait to get a custom kernel and Cyanogenmod running on this. This is my Android dream come true.

Weird! We'll here's a link for you!
Use the nexus toolkit... While 4.2.2 isn't listed, select 4.2.1... It works.
Takes all of 2 minutes.

rooting any nexus device is the same. in a nutshell..
1. this one line typed into fastboot unlocks the bootloader.. fastboot oem unlock. then press yes on the device when the menu pops up.
2. fastboot flash a custom recovery, cwm or twrp.
3. flash either the su binaries or a custom rom with your new recovery.
4. reboot and profit.
thats the right way to root any nexus, on any version of android, even 4.2.2. there do exist different root toolkits, but i dont recommend them. they have their own issues plus you learn zilch.

Right. Duh. I forgot that I also read that the bootloader doesn't depend on whether or not you updated to 4.2.2. I'm blonde, you'll have to forgive me. Or not. Also, the Google link. That didn't help. That thread had dead links, so it's irrelevant.
Hi everyone - thanks in advance for your help.
I have tried to get 4.4 paranoid android running on my nexus 4 - however, CWM is not working (can't enter recovery, nor can I flash it in ROM Manager -- it says "an error occurred while flashing your recovery"), and I do not have any of the google apps.
I have not gone into this stuff for many years (did it on an old xperia), but unfortunately got into this whole mess when I bought this nexus which I didn't realize until after was rooted. Anyhow, can someone please provide a link with a straight-forward step-by-step process for how I can get this phone working again, back to stock, with google apps and everything? In simple terms would be great, from start to finish.
I really do apologize in advance for my amateur knowledge coming into this. In essence, I am simply trying to get around issues that came up after having bought a rooted nexus 4. But now in flashing Paranoid Android CWM won't work and I can't flash any google apps as a result.
Thank you, thank you, and thank you.
Hello,
Actually, rooting yor phone is not the problem, btw you can check this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2534160 to back your n4 to stock 4.4.
You will need to unlock your bootloader before, however it is simple and the instructions is on the link too.
