S7 Edge notification led (first blink red?) - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

As title,
Anyone having this issue when your first notification blink is red and follow by your designated led color ?
Install Lightflow and still the same issue. Try the battery saver mode on 5% and is still the same. Toggle with most settling and get the same result. Was wondering does it due to some software setting in the phone when the phone battery drop to a certain percentage and will trigger the red led ?
Anyone ?

Same here but everything else works great.. not a big deal for me.

Yeah.. but just super paranoid. And very sure is a software issue hope they will solve it on the next update.

That isn't the definition of paranoid...

I just found the exact same bug/issue on my Galaxy S7 (non-edge). I found at least in my case its not always red for the first blink, and in some shades of blue it first does a red blink, then a pale green blink and from there on out blue.. It's definately a strange thing. You can use the app LED tester to try different settings easily. I hope its a simple software bug that will be fixed soon and not a hardware issue. I wonder how common this is?

There are at least two topics about this, it's normal. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3338648

About the notifications led, does somebody knows if the color depends on the last notifications you get? I explain: if I get a what's app message which has a blue color and then I get a telegram message which has a green color, what kind of color will have the led? Because sometimes it seems to blink with last notification's color, sometimes it doesn't.

Trackpad led notification

For some reason my trackpad notification led stays going off and on even with no notification. I'm currently running cm rc4 but ever since rc1 this has been going on. Does any of you know how to fix this minor issue? It just gets annoying after awhile..

Why not post this up in the CM thread over on the dev forum ?
I have, twice actually, and other people have also asked, but it gets ignored.

This started happening to me a couple days ago with the most recent update to LED Me Know program. Since then I've just disabled it. I'm running stock temp root (most of the time no root at all).
The green LED at the top would be blinking for no reason. Also the white trackpad LED would be on solid without any notification coming in. If I went into the LED Me Know program and ran a test on each notification it would turn it off. But then after that when I would get my next notification it would stay on again even after I checked it.
So yeah. Just disabled for now. Don't know if this pertains to your situation though.
Well, pershoot said it was a breather light.. for the trackpad to blink for awhile.. haven't asked further questions though but wanted to ask him if the LED acts a signal light like how blackberries do or not, because using his light.vision.so keeps my LED blinking even with no notifications..

Some colors turned green and grey

Hi guys! I really wish that I captured my screen picture to show you guys what I meant. Well anyway... here is what happened earlier today.
I was thinking "hey, I downloaded this netflix app but never used it even once, let me try it."
So i opened the app, but i guess because I was on cell phone network, it took kinda longer to show all the pictures of the movie list (but i still could click the box, if you know what im saying) so I click on one of the frame (still without the movie thumbnail picture) and it showed some error message. so I was like "okay, let me try another movie then." so I clicked on another movie and the Netflix loading screen came on the screen (netflix logo with red background), and out of the sudden, the red background turned into green background, then the movie started but the picture was wierd (only gray and green color if i remember correctly), so i thought "okay, maybe it is just visual effect." after a minute or two i exited the app, and found out that my phone's background picture color was also turned into green and gray.
has this ever happened to you guys? if it ever happened to you guys, what was that all about? was it software or hardware glitch?
thanks
Yes this happened to me this morning!
My reds turned green and the greens turned blue. (The green battery indicator in the status bar looked ICS blue)
Also some other colours looked pink.
It kind of looked like it was in 256 colour mode.
It scared the sh!t out of me. I thought my screen had busted.
I rebooted and everything was OK.
I don't know what caused it. I just looked at the screen and noticed it.
I know, same here. I was so freaked out yesterday. I hope someone that knows some information willing to share here. I just hope it wasnt a hardware thing.
happened with me once .. after a reboot it's gone
Just happened to me abour 10mins ago...
sorta weird. . . I have a large number of cyan/green colors on my homescreen/widgets and they all turned blue. The live animated wallpaper turned purple...
rebooted and now it's back to normal....
yeap, so far hasnt come back yet (knock knock knock). hopefully it will never come back anymore.

[Q] Defy MB525 constant blue led

Hi,
I need some advice. I bought a Derfy a couple of weeks ago, everything is fine, except the notification led. It lights up blue right when I insert the battaery, and remains active, no matter what I do. If I get a notification, it flashes purple-blue.
I checked the indicator, it seems that no water reached the phone. I cannot find a hardware issue.
Does anyone have an idea, what this thing should be? Not a big problem, but it's irritating.
do You have stock rom or not?
I use stock software now, but tried with many custom builds, the blue led stayed.

Always on Display and backlight

When I use "Always on display" on my edge the screen doesn't becomes completely black, remains like LCD screen with backlight on.
Check the pics: first with Samsung AOD and "gray" screen, second with Amoled Display app on play store with perfect amoled black.
How is your screen?
I've got this very same problem. I've tried resetting the AoD app's settings and clearing the device's cache in the recovery but that didn't fix it. I haven't tried factory resetting yet because I don't have the time now to set up my phone from the ground up.
Do you have any fix for this? Have you tried factory resetting?
* Please note that the diagonal lines are an artifact from my camera, and not actually visible on the display.
nope. I don't think that factory reset can solve this problem.
Today my s7 edge received the december security patch with 273 Mb update but the "problem" remains.
Now I'm using the pay app "Always on amoled" and it works perfectly
It might as well be a hardware issue with the AMOLED panel. After NYE, I'd try factory resetting the device first, and if that doesn't fix it, I'll probably send it for warranty repair.
nah, with another app is perfect. It's software related ( with some panels ) I think Samsung use different panel with different voltage or similar cuz my friends s7 edge is completely black and another one is like mine.
Hello, did anyone come up with a solution to this (apart from using the third party app?) I have exact the same issue, and my colleague at work also has an S7 Edge bought from the same shop with no problem. Mine used to be fine, but stopped being black a few months ago; it also happens with the edge screen {see pics} , but not the third party app. I have the unlocked EU Exynos variant. Likewise have tried different versions of the app, even different firmwares and all have the same issue.
I had this on my first S7 edge after 3 months... only fixed by replacing the screen unfortunatley (under warranty)
I have got this problem and i think I am going to use a guaranty, I dont understand how other third party app works, but there are problems with AOD.
Software bug?????
Interestingly, I had this problem with my S7 Edge from the time I purchased it back in August. It occurred with AOD as well as Night Clock...so much so that I didn't use Night Clock due to the faint "glow" right by my head. Nothing fixed it...factory reset, updates, display tweaks, nothing. My fiancee, who got her phone about a month before me, never had this problem. At the time, a warranty replacement was suggested, but I chose not to since it's wasn't a big deal I just lived without the night clock or AOD since I'd never used them before anyway.
Fast forward to January of this year. My device developed the green vertical line along the edge that persisted through reboots. Some others have reported pink or other color similar lines and it's a fairly well known defect. Had the phone replaced under warranty and the new device doesn't suffer from this problem. My fiancee's phone still has not developed this issue.
I'm wondering if the two items...the vertical line issue and the faint glow from the panel, are related and the result of a hardware defect. I'm going out on a limb and saying yes. I would suggest that anyone with this issue take advantage of a warranty replacement since it appears other screen issues might crop up as well.
I have the same issue, i need help. Please
I have same problem always on back lit so I went to Samsung store in leeds.
the assistant said he couldn't see a recognised
Problem or fault so wouldn't do anything about

It is not a problem. It is just demand of the users. In complete darkness, the AOD background becomes slightly gray, just to make sure that it remains visible.
Ofcourse it, too, can be fixed, by mocking Ambiant Sensor's values. I used XPOSED and installed "Sensor Disabler" from play store, and used it as an XPOSED Module, in side menu, selected "Light" and then "Mock sensor values". Make sure you just keep the value just above 0 lux ( 210 lux is optimum ). It is a sensitive slider, so just slightly increase it.
Auto brightness will be at constant level, better turn it off. However, AOD will work like a charm now! (PERFECT BLACK CONTRAST)

Problems with LED light and Whatsapp

Hi @ all
I recently updated to Android Oreo without doing a hard reset. As I had problems with my battery life I decided to do a hard reset and I reinstalled all my apps. While the battery problem seems to be gone now, I encountered another issue: I set the color for the LED notificiation for Whatsapp to blue but it always shows me a purple light. Doesn't matter which color i choose, it always stays purple. All the other apps work fine, just Whatsapp having this problem with the LED color. There was also a Whatsapp update recently, so I don't know if it is because of Oreo or the new Whatsapp version. But I know that before the hard reset the LED and Whatsapp worked fine.
Is anyone facing the same issues with Whatsapp?
