Is there any possibility to enlarge the display time of the night clock on s6 edge? Natively it is 12 hours .

Hi all, a few days ago I received my new huawei honor 6 and is blazing fast and smooth but what impressed me is the battery life.
It has an option to switch from 1080p to 720p with a setting named rog technology and where I had 4 hours of on screen time until 30% when I switched to 720p I got 6 hours (5:48) and the battery at 26%.
Is there a tool we can use to switch our amoled screen to 720p? Because at 5 inch I don't notice any difference.
Because if there isn't I find charging my phone once per 2 days or 3 very intresting and I might keep the honor 6 for me and the s5 to my wife.
Nope

Yeah honor 6 has it and I gain 2 more hours of on screen time since the Chinese can do it I think it must be software related.
I can safely say that with normal use 2 hours (internet ,calling,Facebook ) a day I can charge my honor 6 every 3 days it would be awesome if we could do this on our halaxy s5 instead of enabling and disable ultra power save all the time.
How about this app?

-I remember seeing a build prop tweak where you edit one line to change what resolution the screen is drawn at.
OP, go download a build prop tweaker and go through the lines and find one that is similar to that-
EDIT: nvm i could have sworn it was available in my Xperia Z buildprop
Why would anyone tinker with the powerful screen this phone offers?

I hate them. I use PieControl all the time.

I did. I used the Edge features for about 2 days and decided it was pointless for me. Just another drain on battery and something else eating up system memory.
Personally, I only bought the Edge due to the larger display, larger battery and I just liked the way it looked.

LOL, Yes, Bigger display and battery lol. I came from my S5 using a 5600 maH Hyperion Extended Battery. Don't know what life would be life on the S7, although my S7 Edge doesn't seem to be getting the life some are reporting here. Verizon S7 Edge Black Onyx.
Same here. Will never use them so I turned off.

I only turned off Edge Feeds and Light, as they make the screen have sensors "ON" even screen is off so it drains battery.
REQUIRES ROOT
So some of the users of the S7 and S7 Edge are saying they are getting below 4 or 5 hours of SOT with normal use. Today, I have a solution that worked for me and I hope it will work for you. I only own a Exynos S7 and so I'm not sure if it will work for other devices. But do try it out if you are getting bad battery life.
Remember try this ONLY if you are getting bad battery life. If you are getting good (5 or 6+ SOT S7) battery life then you are okay.
First of all, I would assume you are using some kind of battery life saving app (because who doesn't want better battery life) like Naptime, Power nap, Amplify, Greenify, etc. Now just uninstall of all the Power saving apps. This may sound bad, but trust me.
Next, install a custom kernel. I would recommend Modified Stock kernel as it's not over clocked and Prometheus kernel as you can under volt the CPU. Do not over clock the CPU if you do not need to.
Lastly use the smart manager in the S7. Settings-> Battery->App Power Saving and select the apps to save battery.
Let the phone go through a few cycles before reporting back
Let me know if I helped you and a 'Thanksâ?? would be appreciated.
I'm on S7.
looks nice, but you forgot to mention that the phone needs be rooted...

App battery saving settings does not require root but I will add that.

No you are not, you are on S7 edge and most likely looking at a black screen for 4 hours.

Cause you have 4 hours SOT with 55% left and 6 hours use. There's no way to get that SOT unless you have it in airplane mode with minimum brightness starring at a black screen. And I thought it was the edge cause of the white thingy on the right that the edge have.

Superman ROM and I was actually watching Netflix with 40 - 50% screen brightness and data on with wifi. Other users have also reported this kind of battery.

You were watching Netflix for 4 hours and yet the Netflix app is not in first 2 places? Assuming the Netflix app is third at best then that means that it has less than 11% (Android System). You could be right but I doubt it, I'd love to see a screenshot from when you get at 15% with total SOT and the apps that were used.
In my experience, especially on 4G LTE, Samsung standby is rather poor. How would you say the Exynos S8 does?
4g and wifi 247 facebook YouTube xda duos calls browsing the lot. pretty happy tbh. this is exynos model and its great

First 2 days mine was poor. But that was because I used smart switch to get everything from my S6. Then I realised battery drained fast. So I hard reset the phone again and installed all over. Just copied the video's and pics afterwards. Now the battery life is great. I don't know the screen on time because I keep the battery between 30% and 80%. But still I start use it at 80% and at the end of the day it is around 30%.

What theme is that?
I just got 43 hours total and 6.5 hours of SOT.
Best power efficiency I've ever seen in a phone.
Also read something online that the battery should retain about 95% of charge after a year of use. Hopefully this holds up!!!
8+ theme is mat black
Up.
How does the battery life of the S8 Exynos compare to the S7 Exynos , I plan to upgrade soon, just wanted to know if it worsened or anything due to the bigger display
Thanks!

Sweet! How about standby time? Overnight possibly with Wifi off?
Thanks!
Standby time never was a big quality on Android in general and Samsung in particular. iOS does a much better job in that chapter.
