Android 5.0 Lollipop - Sharp Aquos Crystal

I have honestly tried 5 pages of Google and couldn't find a solution. I love the design of the Aquos Crystal and I think the simplicity of android 5.0 would make the device beautiful. I want android 5.0 LOLIPOP on my Crystal so bad, but I'm not a developer and I don't know how to get it. Anyone else in the same situation? Thanks!

Honestly, my Crystal just sits in a drawer now. I *really* love the hardware and although I am an Apple user, I definitely think Sharp outdesigned Apple with the Aquos Crystal. I just want the phone to be rooted so I can put my own OS on it. That's also the reason why I signed up for an account here.
Somebody *some*where has to be working on a CMod. Right? Anyone? Bueller?

Getting Sharps new Feel UX to our phone?!

I don't really know if you guys have seen it, Sharps Feel UX that the american design company FROG developed for them?
This would be an awesome thing to get to our phones, if we can get it ported. Since I don't know how to fix it all, I was thinking maybe there's a developer somewhere out there who knows.
I'll post a link to it, and people can discuss it, I think it looks so awesome, the UI is something completely new, and it has this smart lockscreen. Well, all I can say is, even though it's a "shell" UI, it's one of the best looking I've ever seen.
Oh goddammit, since I'm a "new" member (which I'm not, been a member here for ages but haven't been posting much, I'm not allowed to put up links, so if anyone want to see it, they can Google it, or just send me a PM and I'll give you the link, the video can be found on Vimeo by searching for "Sharp AQUOS Android Smartphone - Feel UX".
I don't think it's out even in Japan yet. Too soon to tell.
Would love to get that phone just for that interface! Love it!
Yeah, I know it hasn't been released yet, but I thought it would be good for our dear devs to know about it some time before, to decide if it's worth trying to get ported to our device.
It seems like the phone itself looks quite nice aswell.
it would be awesome to have it on our SGS
That is an awsome UI. Hope someone will port it.

Pure Android on S4

Hi everyone,
I just switched from an iPhone 4 to an S4 and so far the experience has been great, however, I wanted to know if there's a way to run 'Pure Android' on it.
From what I THINK I know, Samsung's version of android has a bunch of pre-installed crap. Call me crazy but this bothers me, I just want a clean OS, and that's something I liked about iOS. I don't know if it has any other limitations, I haven't gotten that far into it yet, except from the home dock being locked.
Anyway, I'm a complete Android noob, but I can follow clear instructions.
Is it even possible to do what I'm after? Is there a clean, safe and fast way of doing it for somebody like me that doesn't know much about these things?
Also, I don't have access to a PC as I am a mac user.

If you can't wait for the Galaxy S4 Google Edition , why don't you just buy LG Google Nexus 4 instead of Galaxy S4 before that ?

The S4 is still pretty new so development is still picking up, but AOSP roms are supposed to give you that pure android experience. Cyanogenmod (CM), AOKP and others add some great tweaks and settings for further customizations. You can check the Original Android Development for Cyanogenmod and AOKP, but I would suggest you wait a while as things are still being improved. They should get more stable soon and have clean and clear installation methods.
Android differs from iOS in that you get a lot of customization options. Different people have different choices and android can be adapted for anyone. Some like the pure android experience and go for either a Nexus phone, which is pure android, or install an AOSP rom on their non-nexus phone.
Some people like Samsung's Touchwiz while others do not. Other roms add even further customizations, etc. Welcome to android..!

Stock / Non Annoying Android?

Hi,
I'm a longtime iOS user that just bought a galaxy s5 to see if it was good for me, I however have been disappointed because of all the annoying software that comes preloaded that slows the phone down, I tried out a nexus 5 and loved it however I had received the international version which wouldn't work with Sprint, so I thought I'd try the S5 and I like it except I wish it was more like the nexus 5(non-laggy, etc...) so now I'm curious...is there anything out there that will turn the sgs5 basically into stock Android like nexus 5? How do I install them? I couldn't find any reliables build on cyanogenmod nor could I figure out how to backup in case I wanted to revert back to standard android that came with it...I don't know if I put enough research into finding what I'm looking for but I googled and read stuff that I didn't quite understand most of the day. Any help would be very appreciated.
Sorry to ask such a dumb question to those who are going to troll.
Search XDA for s5 debloat or similar, it will give you a list of what can be removed, and I think there are some debloat tools as well.
Try this on for size should be right up your alley http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2857451

[Q] Request (Cyanogenmod) Sprint Sharp Aquos

Hi, Im nor sure where to post this one but I was wondering if anyone was working on or was planning on working on a cyanogenmod lollipop for this phone? I found a website that has a "Lollipop Rom" and three people commented on it saying it was good but I'm not sure if it is real.
It is fake. We do not have root yet.
OK that's what I thought. Does anyone know anything about rooting this phone? Its actually surprisingly great for the 120 price that I played. A lot better than my old galaxy victory! Isn't Sharp required to release the source code? I thought that google made that a 'must' becausif we had this we could essentially see Roms for this phone right?
UPDATE: I'm not sure if this is of any significance; http://www.sharpusa.com/Home/CustomerSupport/SharpCareCenter/MobileSupport/OpenSourceCode.aspx
I hope the information and files at that link can help someone root this phone!

Oxygen OS 11 Dialer apk/use on another phone?

I recently made the switch from the 8 Pro to the Z Fold 2. While I love Samsung's hardware, I find their UI to be appalling in many regards and try to make it more stock Android using themes and what not than anything else.
I also installed OP's Android 11 beta while on the 8 Pro and loved it. I know it's a point of contention for many people, but it's a fresh new look and I dig it. One thing that I particularly loved was the dialer app. I loved everything about it and was wondering if it's possible now, or will be possible in the future to install it as an apk as we are able to install Google's dialer as an apk right now?
Thank you all!
Hate to be the one digging up dead threads, but did you ever figure this out? I have a similar issue and really want to find out the solution. I found this thread that might be helpful, but I haven't tested it yet.
