Hi all, I need a thermometer for measuring the temperature of hot pie displays and cupboards etc. I use a Samsung galaxy Note 2 phone and I have bought the TEMPer1 usb temperature probe. My problem is I can't find any software with which I can use it on the phone.
The phone has OTG (on the go ) capability and can use wireless mice and USB thumb drives etc.
I have read the posts relating to Linux and Java etc but not sure how to compile a program script etc.
Can anyone help with a solution ? I am surprised that these temperature units are not catered for on phones as portable temp readings must be useful for a lot of people. Especially when the probe is remote from the phone.

Hi,
Im hoping someone may be able to help. I've had an s3, s4, s4 lte and now the dual sim s4. Its a great phone however I cant seem to get the hdmi out working, this is important for me as I run an app radio in my car, so use my s4 for everything from music to sat nav etc.
With my mhl adaptor from my s3, from my S4 and a new s4 mhl 2 adaptor. Each does the same thing. If the connector is only pushed in partially (presumably so the first row of contacts meet) then it charges only. If its pushed in further then it does nothing, no charge and no hdmi.
Has anybody got the hdmi working on a dual sim s4?
Cheers Gav
Hello,
Unfortunately I have the same problem with my s4 i9502, no HDMI out on the Smartdock EDD-S20.
Maybye I will try with a stock ROM (Android 4.3 ?).
If anybody has ever succed to activate the MHL video on this phone, please advice !
I will also try with the samsung wireless HDMI receiver, hope it will work.
Regards
Hello,
What I have understood from the Chinese forums (Google translation...) is that it is a software / firmware limitation
The workaround that I have found (works on my i9502) is to use the samsung allshare cast dongle (HDMI wireless transceiver).
But it works only thanks to the modification of a lib (see this thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=45605884, personnaly I used root browser app to do it).
It seems that flashing a stock Rom for a i9500 is possible (even if you lose the dual-sim function..) so this could enable the MHL function.
I do hope that one day someone will find the trick to make HDMI out works one the i9502.
Regards
It use a NXP PN548 NFC controller, how to activate SWP?
Hello,
I have a problem with the NFC. It is active but the applications it uses do not recognize active NFC.
Is there another option active?
For info I'm on X720 rom stock 18s no root.
thank you
No, this is the only option to enable.
What exactly do you mean with "the applications it uses do not recognize active NFC"?
Does the application show you an error? Or does your app work normally but is not detecting any NFC tags?
In the second case: be aware that the NFC antenna is not placed in the middle of the phone but near the top so you have to hold the NFC tags near the upper end of your phone.

yes, the applications it uses do not recognize active NFC.
Yes, it does not detect tags either.
I tried "easy nfc" on the playstore and it does not detect the active nfc.
I don't know what "Easy NFC" is supposed to do, but it doesn't seem to be an NFC reader app. It also doesn't work on my other test devices.
Try "NFC TagInfo by NXP" instead which is made directly by NXP (the same company which also produces the NFC hardware chip in your phone) and it also supports a wide range of NFC tags.
thanks, I'll try.
Not sure if this helps, but I found that NFC works at the camera area instead of the bottom half of the phone. Worth a shot, because I know I got worried when I tried to test NFC as well.

Thank you, I try next time.
