Hi Guys,
Long time android user here, I bought the P8lite ALE-L21 a month ago, and have been thoroughly enjoying my experience with the phone so far. When I purchased the phone, it had (and currently does have) the Lollipop 5.0.1 ROM build B183 preloaded into it. I have since unlocked the phones bootloader and rooted it, as per the course with new android phones
I've read numerous threads here regarding the upgrade to the Marshmallow beta, and have been stumped as to how to get the darn ROM flashed to my device.
I've tried using the EMUI manual updater to flash B188 over as a stepping stone to the beta, and also tried updating straight to the beta to no avail.
I'm thinking that I may have to downgrade in an attempt to get B188 on there, but I'm unsure as to which build to flash.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Could mods remove this thread please? I've sorted this out using the tutorial by dkonect.

Hello everyone!
I recently bought a Huawei P8 Lite, it came with Lollipop 5.0.1. The thing is I would like to update to 5.1 at least. For all the reasons we all know about, this is kind of a must. However my operator hasn't send me the OTA package nor could I found one in any Huawei website. So I mailed them about this a few days ago, and got no answer yet.
So anyone here went through the same/has a stock 5.1 rom for this model? I have also read that some people swapped to ALE-21 for the updates and stuff, but I dont wanna mess with the baseband, since those post are not always properly detailed about this stuff.
Any comment, info, post, link, whatever on this topic will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!
You can find more info here. if you don't want to upgrade to Ale-L21 just use this as a guide (Chapter 4) but with your own stock rom file that you download from the huawei website.

So i looked up the problem that you had with converting. and i put a comparison in the thread. thx for pointing out something we didn't mention before
you can find the comparison here http://pdadb.net/index.php?m=pdacomparer&id1=7978&id2=8162&id3=7966
the Ali-L21 supports more basebands the the ale l23 so that's all.
Seems like my only choice is to force an ale-21 single sim rom into my phone and try not to screw it in the process.. I dont understand why Huawei wont release a 5.1 update for .23 even if its the same as .21
Thank you a lot, I will follow the steps mentioned above and try some luck

Hi I am new to this so please do bare with my lack of knowledge
first things first I never had been in the P9 Lite Beta I brought the phone and I have never installed any roms or so on
my question is it seems my phone is branded to the Germany Telekom
that's where I brought it makes sense my question is I can not go away from the
firmware or can I go from there firmware to another firmware like the one you can download from there main site that is unbranded
why do I think my phone is branded is because I have tried the Update.app from the 27.03.17 I do the dial code and it restarts it starts goes to 7 percent and it cuts out
failed to install reboot phone and it goes back into the 6.0 Marshmallow
I am wandering how other people are able to install the B170/B171 update I know my Phone Model is (Huawei P9 VNS-L11) but the Phone Model is Huawei P9 LITE Vns-L31 ???
how are people in Europe to install the phone prove its the final code an not the beta since I am not able to update an may people are saying its finished and it being rolled in OTA
what do I have to do to remove the Telekom software and install a stock rom without it being locked preventing me from installing the update to 7.0 please replay thanks you and enjoy the weekend
Hello everyone,
This is pretty much my first post here, so I'm sorry for missing Info or missing knowledge of Android and things, I'm pretty much a Noob.
Yesterday I got the Update from MM to N, and obviously I updated immediately. But after the Update, I realized that I got NRD90M Test-keys instead of a solid build, i don't know how. So, I rolled back like the Guide said, first i flashed the Rollback Package, and after that the main MM. The thing is, instead of VNS-L31C432B160 I got to VNS-L31C900B160.
I wanted to ask how I get rid of the C900 and get back to Europe so that I can receive Updates. AND, With the C900 Version somehow I can't login to Google. (I'm on a P9 Lite VNS-L31, just to get things clear)
So essentially, I want to get back to Europe Cust C432, and i don't know how to do it.
Thank you very much for your help .
You should flash c432 oeminfo from TWRP
Hey guys,
I'm a noob when it comes to firmware stuff, only had some experience with rooting/flashing lg g2, which was pretty much straight forward. As of now, I have owned p9 lite for around half a year and I've grown tired of EMUI so I've decided to root my phone, install TWRP and flash something else. The only problem is that I'm not really sure if the processes of rooting/flashing presented in most tutorials are applicable to my phone, because the build number contains "ITA" and I haven't seen anything like that before. Does that change anything or can I just not bother and follow the standard procedures?
Regards,
Paul

I think you should not encounter any difficulty rooting your phone indifferently from the firmware you come from (however it matters if it's emui 4 or emui 5) it matters if you want to install roms, in this case it's recommended rebranding the phone in a popular and supported region (like C432).

Thanks for the answer. Now I'm running emui 5. So, if I want to install LOS 14.1, I just need to root, rebrand and then I can flash the rom?

Sorry for late answer, I don't know if you already fixed your problem but yeah you need to rebrand, flash C432B370 (dual SIM) or B371 (single SIM) and then follow the procedure to flash Los 14.1
Rooting isn't necessary because all of those things don't require user root.
So, I had bought a p9 lite recently on a reconditioned phone store. The probleme is that i cannot open any app related to google. So i decided to update my build.
I have unlocked the bootloader, i have installed Twrp 3.0.2 and my phone is running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, and i would like to install C432 with Android 7.1.2
My build number is (and that's the problem) "VNS-L31C900B163"
I've tried a lot of technics but i can't manage to make it, I really need help :crying:
So if someone as any idea on how i could do this or atleast install a new Android version i'd really be happy and thankful
