I found this unit on Ebay and it meets most of my needs pretty well, it's silver like my interior, the buttons are across the bottom and not the left and the price seems ok. I was wondering if anyone has any information about it. I'm about ready to pull the trigger but if there's a reason I shouldn't I'd like to know beforehand.

As you might have noticed in my previous thread, my Wizard took a splash.
Now, after ordering a new LCD screen, my keyboard seems to have stopped working on certain keys, and the LEDS won't go on anymore.
I think the flat cable between the board and the keyboard unit has gotten a breach in it.
Now, does anybody know where I can get a replacement keyboard, the electronics that is?
Or does anybody have a broken wizard I can buy cheap to canabalise to repair my own?
I can't seem to find anything on the internet, and I am really fond of my little Wizard.
Please, can someone help me ,before I go broke trying to buy myself a new one?
Ok, I have done some searching and I am still not sure of the answer to my question.
I have a HERM 100. I broke the screen on accident, but it was having the WSOD problem anyway. I still love the phone and I am trying to fix it.
First question is I have the screen with the P/N HTC60H00037-01M. I have looked several places on ebay, and the only ones I can find selling this exact screen are almost 2 times as expensive. Most if not all the others are saying this screen will work HTC60H00037-00M
Here are the links
The cheaper one with -00M on the end in one of the pictures.
The more expensive one with the EXACT same number as my screen in the pic.
Will the cheaper one work in my phone or is there a real difference between the two screens.
Oh, and does anyone know the best way to get a chip reflowed? I have been watching and reading the WSOD thread, and the only option that seems to fix the problem permanently. I am not able to do this myself I don't think, but if anyone has a surefire way to do this at home I am willing to listen, I just want my favorite phone back.

Well at least they are both made by Toppoly and that is the crucial thing because different manufacturers use different digitizer circuits:

NB - This link is for reference only it was written for another Hermes owner who had bought a Hitachi part.
So I think you should be ok with the cheaper one - but I wouldn't put a 100% guarantee on that. (My understanding is that it should be ok though).
Obviously buy from a company that has put in writing that it works ok - just in case a return is needed.
Regarding reflowing the chip. You can experiment with an oven (though I wouldn't like to guess the temp or length of time) - and remove the plastic layer from the keys side. To be honest though, I'd look for a part on ebay or a device being parted out here - because if you try the oven method, you'll probably need a new part anyway

Ok, I got the cheaper one, and put the phone together. I am having a small problem. I think it is related to the WSOD issue now. After replacing it I put the phone together and it was working but the screen was very white. There were colors and objects on it but they were very hard to see, you had to look from an angle. After charging it a while and working with it (and thinking I screwed up again) I got the screen to work with some pressure on the right side. I am thinking that is the connection for the screen that you almost bend backwards. I am going to re examine that, and look locally for someone who will reflow my chip. This must be the problem.
At first I was not sure but now I have finally gotten a few minutes of non WSOD use out of it, so indeed the cheaper one WILL work.
Again, thanks mike, you are the man. I am certain I can find a dunked 8525 that will allow me to get my WSOD issue fixed.
-to sum up, the cheaper screen WILL work! good times.

I replaced my digitizer and lcd screen but i made a mistake while at it.
I need a new wire but I have no idea what it is for, so I can't search on where to buy it.
It's the longest wire and I think it is the antenna because I can't scan for a wifi or get any data running.
It plugs in to a small circular plug both ways. There are two smaller ones (black and white) right next to the vibrator.
Can anyone help me out???
Indeed, sounds like WiFi antenna.
Just my luck.. Already did a search and I can't find anywhere that sells that piece.
Does anyone know where I can find it?
You tried soldering, if possible? Sometimes full housings on ebay come with pieces like that.
I have never soldered before and I would give it a try if someone told me what to buy... I don't want to mess it up then have to buy a full housing
Hi folks, the bottom 10% of the digitizer panel on my Joying JY-UL134N2 10.1 screen has failed, just the very bottom edge of the screen area has failed ie enough to cover the bottom line of the screen keyboard.
I "think" its an FYT unit.
Joying support will be no use and wont care about helping as it is out of warranty, all they will care to do is to try to sell me a complete new stereo.
Can anyone suggest a source for a replacement part? Seems a shame to scrap a good sofia 3gr unit just for this when I could give it to a friend otherwise.
One last try, anyone able to help?

I bought 8in digitizer on aliexpress for $15 only. Would something like this work for you.

Thanks, its similar (same soft buttons down left side) but not the same.
The Joying one has a near identical ribbon at the bottom but near the left end, its perfectly rectangular with rounded corners and the mic, power and reset pinholes are located differently. I should try to get a pic up.
Basically its this : https://www.amazon.ca/JOYING-Marshmallow-1024x600-Bluetooth-Navigation/dp/B01MTS75RS
Im sure a while back I saw some discussion on replacements of the same type but I cant find that info now.
I've got a 7 inch one from a failed Joying unit in my garage (never again). Send a picture of the cable connection and I'll see if it matches.
Thanks but wouldnt that require most of a case change as well as full screen assembly surely, assuming the board and so on fit?
I know what you mean Ill never pay another penny to joying, shameful attitude to support.
Its not a very good pic.
Does that whole thing not have a cable that connects to the head-unit - that's what I was expecting.
It does, a white ribbon cable, i dont know the pin count, i think the design changed at lest once for that cable on these units.
I can try to get a pic next couple of days and post it.
I havent forgotten about this, been busy with work, ill try to get the pic up this weekend.
Err delete sorry!
Anyone find a solution to this? I have something similar, I have an 8" that has a crack in the screen. Much like original poster said Joying has no interest in finding a replacement, I figure while I am at it I would like to go up to the 10.1 cause I know my 8" and my 10.1" use the same connector and mount. But I am surprised how hard it is to find a replacement screen, would really appreciate any input
Hi all.
I came across a dead Joying Sofia 1 Din 10.1 device (with SOM FYT6021) recently and would like to ask for support to maybe get it back to live. Do not know exact type of device as model ID is left empty on the device label. Did some research on the web and in the forum already, but without success ...
Device is totally dead. No output on the screen, no backlight on the buttons, nothing. Already tried to reset via button - but nothing happened. Tried to measure power output on USB pinout - but there is nothing.
Anything else I can do ? Any tips how to proceed or what else to measure?
Thx & regards,
Oli
Joying Sofia models are by now 2 or more years old. If we take the Chinese build quality into account, it can very well just be dead: end of life.
but one thing to always try is the fuse in the back side of the radio. Is that one still OK?
Direct hit :good: Was simply missing :crying: Was not aware due to missing model type & documentation. Along with a white screen issue, some touch issues and screen buttons not working at all, I was finally able to get it back to live by reseating cable and recalibration of touch panel.
Now I have a light white border around the whole screen which seems to get mostly away the longer the device is running. Any ideas ?
Besides that - nice device. Need to play around a bit with it and maybe install a custom rom ...
Are there replacement digitizer panel's available on the market ? I have a crack in the upper left corner which is not yet impacting the usability, but if there is a replacement available I might replace it … In addition would be nice to know if upgrade SOM (FYT6026) is somewhere available fore upgrade ? W.r.t. screen buttons: Somewhere in the Settings menu or Car Settings menu (can't remember anymore for the Sofia) there is a "MCU Key Panel" On/Off setting. This determines whether the on screen or hardware buttons are active.
Just contact Joying. They do have screens and motherboards. I do not know what they cost byt the way.
After having some chat's with Joying and doing a lot of research on the web I am still not any step forward
Candy from Joying is not able to provide me any spare SoM … nor a spare digitizer/glass panel for a reasonable price.
Any other ideas where to get a FYT 6026 SoM ?
What is the manufacturer of those boards ? FYT / SYU / carsql ? Can't find any web presence …
Furthermore I found some hints that there are Winca/RoadNav S200 units based on FYT as well ? But no details …
Any other ideas ?
