Hi All and Thanks!
I recently got a Nexus 6p but I'm having issues transferring my data and setup from my 1+1 to it.
When I tried the Tap and Go, the only device it would list is my Nexus 5 but not my 1+1, even though it's the most recently used device.
I then tried using Google Settings and Setup Nearby Device...nothing.
Finally tried using the NFC touch method and still nothing. I get no response from the N6p. I got a response when I touch the N5 and 1+1 but none with either phone to the N6p.
Thanks for any all help!
I figured out where the NFC for N6p is but still doesn't do anything. Going to try to factory reset again.

So here's the deal, I got myself a gorgeous new 6P 2 weeks ago, I went through the initial set-up and everything worked as intended. I set up my fingerprints (both index finders, 1 each) and finished the set-up.
This is where it all went horribly wrong, showing of my new phone to a friend, the fingerprint unlock didn't work. I removed all prints, and tried to scan my index finger(s) again. For some reason the phone was unable to read my prints. As in, it didn't do anything, I get to the screen where you're told to tap your finger, but no matter what I do, tap, push, slide. It doesn't work, I've literally tried all my fingers and had some friends try it to no avail.
So it's defect, let's send it back you say? So did I, reset the phone, tried one more time to set-up my fingerprints before returning it, but this time it wouldn't work in the initial set-up either.
A few days later the vendor calls me and tells me the phone is working absolutely fine and they're returning it to me. Today I receive the same device, and go through the set-up again. Miraculously, the fingerprint scanner worked, I got through the setup, did the same things I did two weeks earlier and bam, same problem.
After numerous resets, both through android and through recovery, I can not get my fingerprints scanned anymore.
My question then is twofold, one: how did the vendor reset my phone which caused it to scan my prints during set-up (is there another way to reset your droid?) and two: Seeing as my phone and the scanner seemingly work, but randomly stop working, am I doing something wrong or is it the device?
Thanks an awful lot in advance, I'm really happy with the phone, but it's such a let down that the fingerprint scanner isn't functioning as it should.

I'm not too familiar with the phones anatomy, but perhaps there is a loose or frail connection inside the phone.

I would also suspect a connection issue but this phone is a nightmare to open. It´s not really something you might want to do, except if you´re a crazy person

Yea, not planning on that, perhaps someone has a more hopeful reason for my issue, else I'll be returning it after the weekend and hopefully receive a working device.
Thanks!
I would recommend to return it for a new phone. I've seen several reports on the Google Help forum regarding the scanner. Nothing worked leaving only RMA or swap as solution.
Hey guys, I've been struggling with this for past 2 days with a phone I bought second hand.
I backed up my EFS/IMEI before I rooted my phone and stored it on my computer.
All phone functionality works besides making and receiving phone calls. I am in Australia on the Optus network.
I've tested my current sim in another Nexus 6p and it works completely fine.
I've tried installing both countless number of stock and custom roms, to try and fix the issue but nothing is working. I've tried both
6.0.1 roms, and 7.00 roms.
Also my IMEI is showing in the settings, and I've also tried restoring my EFS backup but nothing has changed. I've tried
changing my Radio bands through dialing *#*#4636#*#*, but it still can't fix the problem.
Any help would greatly appreciated.
A guy with an iPhone had the same issue a few days ago he had to ship his phone off I didn't ask why they didn't just send him a new phone first. Usually what they do.

Having the same issue on my girls phone tried everything you just said and no luck.
Yeah i still have no idea what the issue is
So it turns out Australia has 2 years google warranty, I just called support about the issue, and they are now sending me a replacement.
Got to love their warranty
Hi
I got my 6p about 4 days ago brand new, and upgraded to 7.1.1 wifi was fine and then went to 7.1.2 and wifi seemed fine for couple days while I installed apps and such I wanted
while I waited on a case to arrive, turned it on yday and my wifi connects then disconnects, sometimes it doesn't see wifi networks.. I tried to wipe cache no difference also
tried safe mode and nope.
Also tried to factory reset couple times and well it didn't change anything. Not sure what else to try, I tried shutting off my router for while.. Only thing I can think of is to send it back
unless someone has a idea.
thx.

Hello,
You can try flashing a 7.1.1 factory image to see if problem persists. If yes, it's likely a hardware issue...
Good luck...
You mentioned waiting for a case to arrive. Just to be clear you are having this problem with no case on the phone, correct? You can go into settings / Google / Networking and see if WiFi Assistant is ticked. Change the setting to whatever is the opposite of what it's set at and see if that makes any difference.
Same issue. Huawei had me send in my phone to repair it and I got it back yesterday. Wifi still broken and when I called them up today they want me to send it back AGAIN!

That is correct, I hate using my phone without a case. rather not break it to soon bad luck and all.. I'd hate to have to send it back before even using it lol..
It seems better since I unlocked the bootloader and the phone reset itself again. Don't think I had a drop in wifi yet. Still testing tho..

My Nexus 6P is doing the exact same thing and I think its something to do with several 7.1.1 updates and 7.1.2 update. Because wifi was fine until it updated like 5 times.

You can always try clearing the system cache and seeing if that helps. It probably won't but it's always worth a try. You can also go into WiFi Assistant under settings / Google / Networking and tick the opposite of whatever its currently set at and see if that makes any difference.
I went ahead and RMA'd my phone hopefully I can get a decent replacement. wifi start going weird again in couple days and phone would randomly reboot doing nothing and sometimes staying on the android logo
while booting. What a pain so far..
Welp my phone finally arrived back futuretel replaced the Motherboard and a component doesn't say what and factory reset the device.
Been 2 days now with no drops in wifi or anything.. Hopefully no more problems. All in all took about 2 weeks and that is with 2 holidays
so not bad..
So recently I bought a secondhand LG G6 (still under warranty) and updated software..
Now the wifi doesn't work, it gets stuck on 'Turning on Wi-fi' for the longest time, then it just greys out and says Connection not allowed.
Now I understand this is a common problem with LG handphones, I had the LG G5 with the same problem before replacing it with another one from the seller. But I absolutely love the LG's wide angle camera, that's why I got the G6. Now I'm kinda regretting this decision.
Hotspot tethering works fine. Is the only way to send it back for replacement? It would take ages
I have tried factory resets and network reset to no avail, and clearing cache. Is there anything else I could try?
FYI the MAC address is permanently at 02:00:00:00:00............ Bluetooth and mobile data works fine.
Any help will be appreciated. Thanks!

Here are some possible solutions:

well?
Was this ever solved??
Had the same issue
tried every possible software tweak to no avail, it would randomly come back and stay till a reboot. while it was gone phone lagged like crazy and got hot. This was in a 2 month old phone at the time. Took it to service center where they replaced the motherboard under warranty (got a new imei no etc). all is fine now. Though i am unsure how the ip rating has been affected since its been opened up.
I currently have this issue, with a second hand G6 that was already unlocked and with a custom ROM. Maybe the guy messed up the vendor partition?

You may have bad vendor partion or someone installed custom ROM on your device and didnt installed Stock properly. First try to flash Stock Nougat via lgup
I got my Galaxy S10+ 3 weeks ago. I've owned different LG phones and now moved to Samsung.
The frustration I've had with the phone is that every time I restart or shut off and start I lose all my Bluetooth entries.
I also see Google maps getting stuck in bring up a route. It keeps spinning to find a route.
What usually resolves the Maps issue is a restart.
Anyone seeing issues like these? I love the phone but things like these shouldn't be happening.
Thanks
No issues like that on my phone, I have 4 devices paired to my phone and they remain saved even after reboots. No issues with Google Maps either. I use it daily.

Reset all your settings ( general, network, and accessibility).
If that doesn't work do a factory reset.
If that doesn't work exchange your phone for a replacement.

Yeah everything works good on mines beside the camera led. Battery life has been ok honestly think I got more out of my s9 plus. Overall the hype is there but disappointed at the same time.

So I did a network, general and accessibility reset but no luck.
On Sunday I did a factory reset but I still have the two issues. One with maps and the other with Bluetooth.
The last thing I did last night was clear cache thru the boot loader. Per recommendation on Samsung forums, from a moderator.
Today I must have restarted the phone a half a dozen times. It never dropped the connected BT devices.
Maps is still an issue though.
I was in the car in the morning and tried to navigate to an address. It never loaded and eventually failed with the message saying "Can't connect to Maps. Try again in a few minutes."
While home if I turn WiFi off and try to navigate to an address maps just keep spinning and saying "Loading traffic data...". The moment I turn WiFi back on the navigation with traffic status comes up right away.
Could there be some setting that's messing things up when connected only to the carrier? I'm with AT&T.
I say setting because my wife has a S8+ and doesn't experience any of the issues I am with my S10+ !
Thanks guys! I love the phone but these are not acceptable issues on a $1000 smartphone.
Issue fixed
So I really had two issues.
One was with the Bluetooth forgetting devices when restarting or doing a power cycle.
The other was with Maps. It wouldn't bring up navigation directions when on the carrier network.
Sometimes a restart would make it work but would fail again.
Stopped by AT&T today and swapped the SIM card.
Both problems fixed!
