[Q] Bootstrap Won't Backup Phone

Hi guys, Im having a little trouble, hoping somebody could tell me what Im missing or should be doing differently. I am currently on 2.2 OTA. i just rooted using RoOoLeR's Guide to ROOT / BACKUP / ROMS for 2.2 OTA (sticky under hacks). I then downloaded Bootstrap. Opened the app and hit "bootstrap recovery", got the pop-up saying "Success". Then i rebooted into recovery and started a nandroid backup. about a minute into it, it failed and gave me the following message.
E: Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0 (or /dev/block/mmcblk0p1)
(Device or resource busy)
Can't mount /sdcard/.android_secure!
I have yet to install rom manager and load any custom roms beacuse i want to make sure i have a good backup before doing anything.
Suggestions? Thank you so much in advance.

It sounds like you have an issue with the SD card. I would backup the data on the card to a PC, format it blank, and the let the X reinitialize it.

[q] /cache/recovery/command usage

Hello!
I'm trying to find out where to see a list of parameters I can use in there.
I'm using the ClockworkMod recovery (even if I think it's just universal that part), but if I write in that cache file "boot-recovery --nandroid" nothing happens when I reboot into recovery, if I set just "--nandroid" it says "E: invalid arguments"...
What I want to achieve is to execute a nandroid backup and then one or more update zip files. Is it possible?
Thanks!
no one has any idea?

[Q] Unable to make backup using TWRP

Hi,
So I just used KFU to root my KF and install TWRP. Of course my first thought is to create a backup before doing anything else. However, I'm getting errors while creating a backup.
Here is what the TWRP console displayed after it failed to backup. I have the full recovery log should anyone need it.
[BACKUP STARTED]
* Backup Folder: /sdcard/TWRP/BACKUPS
* Verifying filesystems...
* Verifying partition sizes...
E:Unable to stat '/sd-ext/.'
E:Unable to compute target usage (0 partitions, 0 bytes)
I've searched here on XDA and Google, but haven't come across any posts dealing with this particular backup issue. Does anyone know what's wrong, or what I can do to further troubleshoot this issue?
I solved this. Thanks.
im having the same problem. how did u solve it?
I don't remember exactly. I know that I ended up checking or unchecking one of the options. I've since then reinstalled TWRP and haven't had an issue.
I just reinstalled it and now backup works! i also notice only three partitions checked and there was 4 before. thanks

[TOOL] EFS Pro - Advanced '/efs' Backup, Restore, Repair!

I created a tool a while back for Galaxy S II owners to backup and restore the '/efs' partition and perform basic NV Repair on their devices.
This proved so popular that I recently updated the application which now includes a feature to automatically detect the mount point of the '/efs' partition. This allows any supported device to be used with EFS Pro and also adds support for future devices.
Check out the link below for more info and download:

Cannot locate mount point
lyriquidperfection,
may you help me figure out what the problem could be here?
When running the program I get an error message:
Detected 'efs' partition location: Failed!
Error: Can't Locate Mount Point!
EFS Backup Failed!
Operation Finished!
The phone is a Nexus S, recently rooted. Flashed Cyanogen 9.
USB debugging is enabled, ADB & Apps have root access.
What else do I need to do?
Thanks!
Everyone should have a backup of their efs! I hope this tool can become compatible. Meanwhile, TWRP can backup your efs partition.

Though I couldn't find or figure out this TWRP thing you mention, I was able to access my system folders by merely using ES File Explorer and activating root access. Then I copied the /EFS folder to my SD Card, laptop's hard drive and cloud storage.
Thanks anyways!
EFS Professional v2.0.9 has now been released!

[Q] Possibly Bricked A500

Hello,
I tried to move from one rom to another, but it seemed that the device got bricked.
Currently, it has Skrilax_CZ's bootloader v8 and TWRP recovery 2.6.3, which is working.
The problem is, that the file system got messed up, i think. When i start the recovery i see the following in the console:
Code:
Unable to mount '/data'
Unable to recreate /data/media folder.
Unable to find partition size for '/misc'
Unable to find partition size for '/boot'
Unable to find partition size for '/recovery'
Unable to find partition size for '/system'
Unable to find partition size for '/data'
Unable to find partition size for '/cache'
Unable to find partition size for '/flexrom'
Unable to find partition size for internal storage
Unable to set emmc bootloader message.
I see most of the folders in the file explorer in the recovery but they are all empty.
I tried wiping everything but still got errors. When i try to install any ROM, i get the same errors.
EDIT:
I installed older version of TWRP - v.2.4.4. There seems to be less errors with it. When i try to restore from a backup now i get: "Restoring data..." and the message ERROR after that. Interestingly, the CPUID now is all zeroes (000....) instead of the original one, which i have written down.
I think that some system directories are missing, but i may well be mistaken. Is there a way to recreate them?
Any suggestions?
EDIT #2:
I solved it! After a lot wondering i came upon this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1516012
It helped me to get the tablet working with the stock rom, in case anybody else gets stuck like me. That is why it is very important to write down the CPUID!
Well thats a new one...I'd say yr memory chip is hosed. To have yr cpuid reported like that doesn't sound good. Try runnng babsector.rar to reset partitions...see post 2 in my root guide in my sig

Wow awesome, yep that euu can also reset partitions. As u say, keeping yr cpuid safe is THE most important things you can do...well done!
