Wow.. Guess I jumped too early.. T-Mobile now offering buyone getone free on the GS7 and GS7 edge...
I'm so confused about the terms of that deal. Do they require you to keep both lines active and if you cancel one, they charge you the full price of just the one phone?
How do they prevent you from selling one right away, cancelling the one new line, and paying for the one phone? No more monthly payments for the phone you keep?
i think the fine print says you have to keep the line for several months. You can't disconnect the line or you'd be charged the amount of the Free phone.
If you need 2 lines though, doen't stop you from moving the SIM card to another phone and sell the 2nd GS7..
Basically keep the 2nd line open till the rebate arrives, payoff the phone, and then cancel the line

You still qualify for the offer.
I work for t-mobile. You still qualify if you pre-ordered your phone. Just add a line and get the second phone.
And if you've already added a line, if it was done on February 23rd or later, then you still qualify to get the second phone free.
Wait.. i ordered my service on march 2nd.. and i got the 4 line 10gb deal.. 2 sim cards and 1 gs7 and 1 ip6.
So i have to add a line to qualify? Or do i already qualify?
If you've already added a line between February 23 and today, then that line qualifies you for the BOGO.
Also, both phones have to be on EIP. None can be on Jump on Demand leasing.
Here ya go
I bought two s7s and got two free and then sold the two free ones. Just waiting on the rebate cards now and I'll have gotten all of them free as selling them covered the costs.
I just hope that out of respect of the sales associates that processed the sales, people aren't cancelling the line they added to get this promo. Just know that if you cancel the line within 4 months, the associate gets hit with a deactivation, loses money, and can possibly get fired.
They're not gonna get fired.. It's company policy. I also clearly explained to the sales associate what I was going to do and she had no issues.
Lol yeah I assure you nobody is going to be happy about getting hit with fraud. When that happens, the associate loses money and the company loses money. As you can imagine, when the company loses money, they start cracking down on the ones that are losing them money. Company policy is that there is a 4 month window where if the customer cancels their line, the associate and the store is hurt by it and get charged for it. Do enough fraud transactions, and you get fired on top of it.
Nobody cares what you do with the phones. If you already have a phone that you're happy with, then we even encourage selling off the phones to make some money off of it, as long as nobody gets hurt by the customers taking advantage and basically stealing $700-800 devices.
Before buying BOGO, I checked twice with T-Mobile by phone. We have a six line family plan using only five lines. At the store, the associate also had no problem. The deal is that we keep the sixth line active only until the rebate arrives. We also arranged the numbers to keep our current ones. Perhaps it mattered that one of our current phones was paid off and the other had only two payments left. I look at it, and perhaps T-Mobile did too, as customer retention. In all events, it's hardly strealing when one is completely up front.
Anybody asked Legere if T-Mobile plans to do a BOGO without requiring a new line? How much does T-Mobile stand to make on the new line-- cost of the second phone? Does the new line count as a new subscriber so they can use that stat in marketing?
Sent from my SM-G386T using Tapatalk
Like I said, if you cancel any features or lines within 4 months, you're taking money from the associate that helped you. I'm assuming the guys up in corporate did the math and concluded that a customer has to keep their line/feature for about 4 months for the company to make a profit, since that's their policy. The deal is supposed to be that you bring t-mobile more customers (the new line) and they give you a free phone for it. But if you're just going to cancel the line and run off with the phone, that's basically going back on the deal and stealing the phone. It's just like back when I used to work for the other carriers before everyone started following the No Contract thing T-Mobile made famous. Day after day I'd see people coming in to open new accounts because carriers were offering free phones with two year contracts, and then just cancel their service so they can walk away with 2 or more brand new free phones. That's what we call fraud and it's our job to filter through everyone and turn away the fraud. That's why the company takes away money from associates when that happens.
T-Mobile recently did a BOGO maybe a month ago without the need of a new line, where the second phone was half off. Since T-Mobile doesn't do contracts, the BOGO half off with no catch was a huge deal to begin with. I highly doubt they'd give one for free without there being any requirements.

I think its safe to assume that Samsung is HEAVILY subsidizing these BOGO offers, since its happening on all carriers. I doubt TMo would require the new line anticipating people are just going to cancel them after three months, the churn rates would be awful. They're probably thinking most people will just leave the third line and pay the extra 10 bucks a month.
Yup seeing other carriers do same for gs7. Worst case move the number to new BOGO line and cancel the old line. Easy as that.
BOGO ends tomorrow.
Who has already received there Pre-paid Mastercard for there free device.how long did it take to receive it. Thanks

Thinking about purchasing the nexus one? Here is a breakdown for all T Mobile customers of what's required.
Purchase Link
If you have a family plan, shared plan, flexpay plan or corporate account you will need to change before going to purchase the nexus one from the link above. Once all the above items are removed/changed then you are good to go and can enjoy the upgraded discount.
Quote from Nexus site "You can choose to purchase the Nexus One from the Google Phone Webstore without service for $529 USD, or with a qualifying T-Mobile US service plan at a discounted price:
Nexus One without service: $529
Nexus One with new, 2-year T-Mobile US service plan for new customers: $179
Nexus One with new, 2-year T-Mobile US service plan for qualifying existing T-Mobile customers who are adding data plans: $279
Nexus One with new, 2-year T-Mobile US service plan for qualifying existing T-Mobile customers who are upgrading their data plans: $379"
Source
I only paid 179.99 but that's because i opened a new line of service and got a new number. Be aware that if you open a new line of service to get the 179.99 price you CANNOT cancel your other line of service early or you will have to pay a 200.00 fee for early termination. The only option you have is to switch it to a home phone plan. If you decide to go that route as I did then it is 10.00 a month. It uses your sim card and a router that you get from T Mobile for 40.00. You must have a high speed connection to use this option.
I'm hoping you accidentally hit submit before finishing your post, cuz it doesn't make much sense to me.
I have been off contract since January 2009. How do I get the $179 price?
Edit: Just saw your post in the other thread. I think what you're saying confirms what the T-mo rep told me earlier today. She said that if I switched from my old grandfathered plan to the Even More 500 plan, then I'd be eligible for the $179 price. Not that I'm going to do it... it's cheaper for me to stick to my current plan and buying the phone unlocked.

Someone in another forum had the same issue and apparently he had to add another line. Once his N1 comes in he plans on canceling his old line and switching his number over to the new line. I can try to find that post if need be.?

That's not necessary, but thanks. I'd only buy the phone unlocked, because it will considerably cheaper than switching plans and being in a contract again. I'm really just curious because it doesn't seem right that if we're off contract with T-mo, we couldn't take advantage of the subsidized price of the phone. Theoretically we're paying higher plan prices every month because our original phones were subsidized. So if we're off contract, then we should have paid T-mo back for that subsidy and they should either discount our monthly rate (like the Even More Plus plans), or subsidize a new phone for us.

Sorry, people on here seem to like 'hard evidence' that is only text from another person. I am sure that this has been the plan since the beginning. Google, obviously having the upper hand and being in control, is calling the shots on how this works. T-Mobile, being an underdog, was probably given first dibs with this being part of the deal. But, I do agree with you. I bought it unlocked and would have rather saved the money and updated my phone with current plan. The guys post was something about he had a "grandfathered" in plan and was eligible through TMO for the update but with it being through Google he wasn't able to.... I guess all we can say is 'okay' and mush on.
I would have bought the unlocked version as well but I'm already paying the same amount as the plan that is required so took the discount and ran. I'm sure eventually there will be more plans available. Google is sure to take a lot of heat for it and will eventually crack...well I hope anyways lol.
Both of you should take a look at the discussion here:

It doesn't look good for people who are existing customers, off contract and want to sign a new contract. Kinda ****ty if you ask me, but fortunately it won't affect me.
For people interested in the tmo family plans, here is some math.
Getting 2 subsidized phones over a two-year period breaks down to an extra $15 a month ([$180 x2]/24). 2 unlocked phones is $44 a month ([$530 x2]/24).
Looking at text and web family plans with no annual contracts, its $109.99 for 750mins, $119.99 for 1500mins and $139.99 for unlimited. This gives you freedom of picking your plans or switching to another carrier that supports this phone.
Knowing that if you get the subsidized version, you will be paying $160 a month plus the breakdown of $15 a month (spreading out what you pay up front for the devices) it comes to $175 a month.
With the unlocked device price breakdown at $44 a month, you can see you will save money if you buy the unlocked phone and use either the 750min or 1500min family plans as they will cost you $154 and $164 respectively.
This is a two year savings of $504 and $264!

I have a family plan with 4 lines so I had to break down and pay full price.... same when the G1 came out. Only reason is because i feel like this phone I will keep for some time. I hope. Google, I think, will be getting a lot of heat about this. I took a look at the link and there are A LOT of pissed off people on there. But GOOG does have the money to blow.

Oops lmao, I meant without service
I actually bought the unlocked phone for $530,-. I have another 6 months on my contract.
But this way, I'll be contract free, and am actually SAVING money now, because I had a G1 with Myfav600, which was $80,- a month.
And I never even come close to using my 600 minutes.
So the 500 plus plan is perfect for me. And I save $20,- a month.
And , when they get the Voip thing happening, I can use that as well, since I have a Google Voice number.
i'm a current T-mob customer with 9 mo left on my 2 yr contract i got with my G1, once i get some extra cash saved up i plan to pay the full price for the nexus one because for me at least i currently spend $53 a month on my service with t-mob and don't care or benefit to change it and if i could extend my contract and pay less for the phone by some amount it will still save me more in the long run by not having to pay for the dumb 80 dollar a month plan they force you to have by going that route
this is of course as long as they do not change their tune on how they are handling this before i'm ready to purchase the phone i.e. give me a discount of some amount to upgrade and keep my current plan or one very close to it
Im currently on the even more plus 500+unlimited text+Web
On flex pay. Iam so lucky i didnt sign a 2 year contract!
I just hope tmobile doesnt try to make me pay 80 if i buy the phone without a plan. Just going to pop in my sim from G1
I've posted this in a couple other threads but it should help here.
I'll tell everyone up front I worked for T-Mobile customer care for the last 4 years up until this past June and was a supervisor for the last year of my time there.
If you currently have a single line plan that is out of contract is qualifies through T-Mobile for the full discount but Google is giving you the price that is almost $400 here is what you can do it get around it. And change to the Even More plans prior WILL NOT fix this issue.
Alot of people are getting bad information from TMobile about what needs to be done because the reps were given almost no information about the ordering process. So most reps and just going with the flow to try and get people off the phone.
When you go to order the phone with Google select the option to add a new line to your account. It will give you the 179.99 price for adding the new line. Once the new phone comes in the mail call T-Mobile and cancel your old line and ask them to put a "request old number back" request to replace the new number with your old one. This takes about 24 hours to go through. During that 24 hours your old number will not work because you have to cancel it before you do this.
I know for a fact this will work but the rep you talk to may give you crap about doing this and not let you because they want to be a ****. If you're worried about that call and cancel you old line when you get the phone then call back and talk to another rep and tell them to put in the request for you.
Don't you have to pay the 200 dollar ETF if you cancel a line?
There's no ETF if the line has no contract. So if you add a new line to get the discount you can cancel the old one without a fee
Ah I missed that part. I am trying to get the 180 price and I only have a few months left on my contract and they won't upgrade it. They will let me add a new line of service though.
A few months ago Sprint underwent a handful of changes that weren’t too appealing. Many blamed the coming of the iPhone, which definitely was the culprit for some of the Now Network’s policy changes. However, looking at the meat of things, a company does need money to run.
With that said, we’re hoping that we’ve braced you for today’s bit of bad news. Our beloved Super Spies have obtained an interesting piece of intel that outs yet another Sprint policy change. Starting on February 1st 2012, Sprint will no longer offer discounts on secondary lines. This means if you’re currently receiving any type of discount on your monthly bill on an account with multiple lines, you can expect your bill to receive a slight increase.
Once in effect, Sprint will move the charge of $19.99 from your plan’s primary line to its secondary line. Depending on the percentage of your discount, you’ll see a dollar increase in the amount of your discount percentage based off of $19.99. For example: If your discount is 25%, under the new policy you’d take 25% of $19.99 to determine your new monthly increase. In the example given, your increase would be approximately five dollars.
This new change will definitely help Sprint save some cash. However we’re wondering if it may come at a cost of a few customers? Please keep in mind that this will only affect customers receiving discounts on their monthly bill with multiple lines, which means a lot of you are exempt from this change. In the meantime, here’s to hoping Sprint puts that new cash to good use, like getting that LTE network up and running.

well crap, I've been with Sprint for 9 years now, but if they are taking away my discount its time to move on.
Lol yeah starting to not like sprint. First started off with sero and was told that in order to get new phones we must upgrade to a higher plan, then a few months later they changed that policy to sero plus. Then they take away our corporate discount because they said our esrp family plan was already the lowest plan which I understand because we were double dipping. I really don't see the reason to stay with sprint any longer, just waiting out on my uncle's line to finish, and see what others will offer

Well with this change u can get out of contract, my coworker called last time and instead of cancelling they credited him the difference every month for a year and gave him a month of free service for each line head line 4 to 6 when Sprint removed the discount on links past 2 or whatever it is now,

Att,verizon, and t mobile all making it possible to upgrade every 6 months or with verizon I believe its a year, any one herd of any news of sprint doing this? I would love that, because phones do need a upgrade every 3-6 months, I would definitely be willing to pay an extra 10 or 15$ to be able to do this

I just wish Sprint would bring back their BTA (bill to account) option. I don't mind paying full price for a phone if I have a month or two in which to pay it and with the BTA feature, if I scheduled a purchase just right (day after a new billing cycle started) I had two billing periods before it was due.
I'm not sure Sprint will go down the early upgrade road since they've taken the unprecedented step of offering the unlimited data forever plans but time will tell.
being a former sprint rep, they do have an early upgrade program but it's a little bit different. So basically your upgrade or discounted pricing is in exchange for 2 year contract. Phones normally MSRP from 450-650 for the smartphones. So what sprint does occasionally and it's based purely on the account, as well as payment history, tenure, and other factors (from what I've been told), they have an upgrade now offer. Instead of having to pay the full MSRP on the device, you would have an upgrade now amount that could range from 50 bucks to 275. The way that the program works is that you would pay that upgrade now amount and by doing so it would get you to your upgrade pricing. It is NOT buying out your contract. Simply means you are upgrade eligible. So say you have a 50 dollar upgrade now and you wanted to get the GS4 which retails at 249.99 before the 50.00 mail in rebate (which would bring it to 199.99), you would basically be paying the 249.99 for the device, and then an additional 50 bucks which is your upgrade now offer bringing the OTD price to 299.99 before tax, but you still get the 50 dollar mail in rebate. Another thing about the program, I would not be an MOD EDIT to the rep about this program too, because company policy says that this is supposed to be a one time offer, and if you do not accept it, we are "technically" supposed to click a little box that says decline offer, and then you just have to wait til your normal upgrade time. At least in my store we don't normally do that, unless the customer is irate or gets escalated, we leave it on there for the customer. Also, sometimes the upgrade now ill drop as it gets closer to your 20-month upgrade date, but sometimes it will not. Also, at least in corporate stores, we have to do everything in the same transaction, so you cannot pay the 50 bucks, then run to best buy and get the phone for cheaper. People have gotten fired for that, and our DM highly emphasizes this. Another thing you can do is cross upgrade, which means using someone elses upgrade, so if you have someone on the same account and want to use their upgrade if you know they don't plan on upgrading for a while, or even someone on a different account, then you can use their upgrades. one thing to note though when cross-upgrading, you WILL lose your mail in rebate. Hope that helps!

Kinda/sorta related to this is something we learned a few weeks ago: Sprint apparently offers the ability to "gift" an upgrade... I'm not sure I got the explanation exactly right, but basically it looks like if you're eligible for an upgrade, but someone else on your account isn't, you can give them your upgrade at any time.
In addition, we learned another nifty "trick"... if you have multiple lines on your account with different contract dates, you can, if the dates work out, in a sense upgrade both phones each year! Here's how it works...
This year, my wife and I had SGS3's, my two kids had some old Nexus'... we went in to the local Sprint store and upgraded my kids' phones to the SGS4, since they were eligible... but my wife and I were not for another year... we couldn't very well have our kids having better phones then us of course, so at the same time we had them swap our SGS3's with their new SGS4's... just literally change the lines on all four phones. Me and the wife got the SGS4's, the kids the SGS3's. As it turns out, the kids were SUPPOSED to have had the SGS4's for 30 days before they did the swap, that's apparently the rule, 30 days before you can do a line swap... but they let it go this time anyway since we had previously been told we could do the swap the same day but the waiting period wasn't mentioned.
Eh, whatever, the bottom line is that every year we can go in and effectively upgrade ALL FOUR phones... the kids will always get the hand-me-down's and be a cycle behind the latest models, but hell, an SGS3 is nothing to balk at today, and they'll be very happy with the SGS4's next year. If your contract dates are far enough apart like ours then you can do this too (if one person doesn't mind being one generation behind too). It's not illegal or against the rules at all

That's funny. I got my SGS4 by adding a new line to my account and swapped the SGS4 on the new line with my SGS3 on my current line the night I got the phone. It's the only time I've done it so I don't know if the dude just didn't care or didn't know. Also...much like you, By the time the next Galaxy comes out either my line or my 2nd line will have an upgrade I'll be able to use. It's a nice system.

So you pay an additional $10 a month and they allow you to swap your phone for a new one? I didn't know you could do that. Guess is like paying io front for a new phone

i did the early upgrade last year and they billed me the 150$ it cost to do the early upgrade.. so i only had to come to the store with the 200$ plus tax for the phone.. then i just tried to do one again they said i could.. but they stopped billing the $$$ its costs to upgrade.. they said it was 200 to early upgrade but they said they stopped billing that u have to come to the store with the money when u buy the phone.. so i said screw that! so i needed 250$ for the s4 plus 200$ to do the early upgrade.. i just ended up starting a new line to get the s4.. i should have just waited cause they put my other line in sesonal standby for 6 months.. but i dont have anyone to take over that over line when the 6 months is up.. so im screwed pretty much ill have to do a ETA which will be 350!! wish there was something i could do since im still keeping my s4 line.. 350$ is a bad hit.. will they give me time to pay the 350$ off.. cause i cant pay it at once.. ill could pay extra on my bill every month till its paid off tho.. if they let me

I just walked into a att store just to check out some cases and get some information on when I will be able to update / trade in my note 3... I walked out with $15 off my monthly bill! They have a promotion going on right now. Go check it out yourself.

It's not a promotion it's their new Mobile Share Value plan. Every Next device, device that's completed a two-year contract, and customer owned device receives $15 off the monthly device charge. Here's the catch. While the prices for the data packages remain the same (Mobile Share<>Mobile Share Value) the cost per subsidized device on the Value plan goes up $10. So if you a subsidized device and a non-subsidized device on the same plan you'll end up saving $5 ($-15 non-subsidized device $+10 subsidized device = $-5). I have two non-subsidized devices and my monthly charges dropped $30.
Thanks for the info. I will go into an AT&T Store, over the weekend, and see if I can benefit from this. I have a Note 3 that was given to me by Best Buy, as an insurance replacement. I'm not knowledgeable, but doesn't that mean I own the device?? I talked to AT&T this even, by coincidence, seeing what they could do to lower my monthly bill. I mentioned switching over to T-Mobile, and the offers started pouring in. I got six months free unlimited texting, my bill for this month was reduced by almost half, and I was given 5,000 extra rollover minutes! The retentions rep was also going to give me an early upgrade on the spot, somehow not realizing I already owned a really new phone. It would be cool to see if I can also get this $15/mo off of my bill, too!
Here's a comparison of the new vs. old Mobile Share plans. I don't think the old one's offered any longer. You can see that the new pricing can save you money under certain circumstances and cost you money in others. The old plan lowered the monthly price you paid per device based added to the plan with larger data plans being charged lower monthly device fees. The new plan is flat.
That was a game changer what T - Mobile announced at CES... I'm staying with att though. After 7 years of sprint and horrible service att has been very good to me. Plus the service is outstanding in my area

So what does this mean?
if you have a phone out of contract you can save money? If you upgrade your phone the usual way with the 2 year contract they charge you a little more...and if you go with the next plan what happens?
thanks sorry for the ignorance but the post to me isnt 100% clear

Still confused, myself. Talked to someone at AT&T last night. They were really apprehensive about entertaining my question about this plan, as I only have a single line. There's a lot of conflicting information out there. I've literally seen some reports which state that if you only have a single line of service, and you either own your device or are off contract, AT&T will automatically move you to this Mobile Share Value Plan, and you save $15/month. However, I've seen other reports that mention this plan is only really beneficial for multiple lines of service. And, the AT&T rep I spoke to, also backed up the latter. She stated it would cost more for a person with a single line, in the long run, so she doesn't recommend that plan to people like me. So, I don't know what to believe. Details seem really sketchy and all over the place.
didn't save me any money because i have too many lines to benefit. AT&T already discounts each line as you add more and more. switching to this actually increased the cost for some of my lines from $30 to $40 so it offset the savings of switching to the $15/line plan. YMMV
I still don't know why anyone in their right mind would sign up for the next promotion.

In case your one of those people who like to keep current tech. With this plan you can get the newest phone each year and not have to be on a two year contract or pay a large amount up front for the phone.

You "own" your device. You are still under the terms of the contract you signed when you purchased the original phone. The phone you got as a replacement "junk out" does qualify as a phone purchased as full price. The $15 off per month only applies to AT&T Mobile Share Value Plans, it sounds like you are on the old Minute plans. You are getting a better deal with the promo that AT&T is giving you now, switching plans would could potentially cost you more.
I hope this is helpful.
Also check out this website:

It breaks down the different plans AT&T offers and thankfully it's closer to plain english.

No, he is still under a contract for the previous device. Once the 2 years from the device he purchased originally from Best Buy is over then he would qualify for the $15 off with the new mobile share value plans. As of right now he is still "paying" for the original device as device costs are built into the old AT&T plans.
I hope this clears that up a bit, if not let me know.

Its really a great deal. Nothing down and your plan drops 15 bucks a month to 25 per line and whatever the days is. We have have 10 gigs where we used to pay 120 for it 10 GB has gone down to 100. Each line that is on the next plan goes down to 25 a month from 40 a month.
I thank T-Mobile for keeping he pressure on them
Just pre-ordered too! I'm thinking I should be able to cancel or return under buyers remorse and turn around to avail of this offer of it is actually released.
http://www.tmonews.com/2016/03/t-mo...axy-s7-and-s7-edge-buy-one-get-one-free-deal/
The Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge are now just four days away from hitting store shelves, and when they do launch, T-Mobile will have an offer ready to go along with them.
A source just sent in the image you see above, which reveals that T-Mobile will kick off a Buy One, Get One Free promo for the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge on March 11. To qualify, you’ll need at least one new line of service, and one of the phones will need to be on that line. Both phones will need to be purchased on an Equipment Installment Plan, and you will have to pony up any taxes and down payment on the free device. There’s also a mention of a prepaid MasterCard mail-in rebate.
Some other tidbits worth noting about this deal include the limit of two free phones per account and the fact that employees aren’t eligible for the offer. Sorry, T-Mobile employees.
The Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge are two of the top-end smartphones on the market, and so being able to get one for free will be a pretty nice deal. Of course, you’ll need to find someone that wants to sign up for a new line to take advantage, but if you know someone looking for some new cell service, this could be a good way to get them (or you both) to join the Magenta side. With this offer expected to launch on March 11, we should hear more about it later this week, so stay tuned.
Thanks, Juárez75!

Definitely curious about that myself, but from what I read, the VR and Netflix offer is valid for purchase of a Samsung Galaxy S7 or Samsung Galaxy S7 edge from 2/23/16 through 3/18/16. If that is the case and this BOGO offer does come out on 3/11, then the VR and Netflix offer should apply. Then again, I could be wrong.

How would we go about canceling the pre-order if our products haven't shipped, or just wait to receive them and take them to T-Mobile. I think with this promotion, you should be able to call and they can fix without having to return the devices. It's a lot of returns if they don't.
Sent from my SM-N900P using Tapatalk
The pre-order deal should still apply, but, that's only if there are any left. Samsung only has 300k VR deal for all providers.

Definitely a good question and would like to find out also. I assume that we would either cancel before the order is shipped or cancel and return after receiving the phone. Although I do hope if this offer does come out that they honor it over thru customer service.

The only issue some of the people will have is that I believe one of the phones has to be a new line of service. I have 2 lines without phones I can cancel and then it allows me to add 2 new lines. That is the catch.
Sent from my SM-N900P using Tapatalk
I have 2 lines now, so I assume I could upgrade a line, add a line and then cancel the non upgrade line and still be eligible for the deal?
I'm glad I ported my main numbers to Google Voice way back when so I don't have to worry about the phone numbers
Is this deal true? Or just a rumor? Seems too good to be true.

Its real, ATT is offering a similar deal. Not a bad idea to get the phone out there as much as possible. Ill add a third line then cancel it later if I decide to get the phone.
That is a great deal.. I'm thinking about cancelling my jod and going with this.

Here is the FAQ on T-mobiles site:
http://www.t-mobile.com/offer/galaxy-s7-faq.html
Good news for EIP pre-orders:
I already bought a Samsung Galaxy S7 / Galaxy S7 edge. Can I get one free?
Yes. If you bought the first Samsung Galaxy S7 / Galaxy S7 edge on EIP, you may also purchase a second Galaxy S7 / Galaxy S7 edge on EIP, then add a line for that second device and, if you meet the requirements, you will be eligible for the rebate.
sucks for me because I always buy my phone without contracts....
And I hate dealing with returns.

You: thanks
T-Mobile: Thank you for your time as well.
T-Mobile Have a great day
I contacted them and they told me since my plan doesn't require a credit check * I have great credit* that I no able to get this deal...
So now i'm going to return my s7 edge which I paid in full and switch my account to a credit check type... Absolutely not leaving a free phone on the table...that's just stupid unless you have awful credit. I end up spending the same but I get an extra phone right? No brainer.....

That's BS, I have excellent credit as well and I just had them order me a new one for my wife, she is losing her number. They said I can start a new line and they would cancel the other line.
What she said...I also called customer service hoping for a different outcome. What makes me upset is that people who like to pay the device in full get screwed over .... doesn't make sense....
No worries, Omar! So sorry for the delay in response -- I really appreciate your patience while I get back to you. This promotion isn't available to our Simple Choice No Credit account types and does require that a line of service be added at time of order, so you would be ineligible this time around. However, I definitely want to ensure you're able to take advantage of our other S7 promotion that gets you a free Samsung VR headset and year of Netflix while supplies last! Is that something you've submitted for yet? *SamanthaA

No no I wasn't calling your response BS, I was just saying that it's such BS that you have to do that.
It's also BS that you have add a brand new number (so they can say to wall street that the added these many 'new' lines) just when I am canceling another number, so net 0 benefit. Luckily my wife doesn't care about losing her old number so win for me.
I currently have a family plan that gives me unlimited data on 2 lines for $100 (it was a promo that ended last year I believe). If I add another line to get this phone, would it ruin my current plan or would I be able to revert right back after canceling the line?
