My dear friends,
Since when i bought my Galaxy S3 i google sync contacts with no problem between all my devices but from today morning i noticed one surprising problem i.e when i create a new contact on say the Galaxy S3 and another on my iPhone 4 and when i sync they all appear on both devices but when i DELETE both ways that of the Android remains and does not delete, which means i have to manually delete it on Galaxy. Please help and thanks.
There's likely to be an issue on the iPhone. It's not removing it from your gmail account. Check your settings.

No i do not think because when i check my google contacts on my computer it has been deleted!
Check that all contacts on the phone have a G symbol on them. When creating a contact on the phone, be sure it is a Google contact and that you are not creating a contact on the phone only.

Thanks but in creating new contact sometime "G" symbol is not available.
Then you need to change the default setting by clearing the defaults of the contacts app in settings, applications, all
You HAVE to have the G for sync to work.
Export all your contacts to sdcard and use that file on your desktop and import it Google Contacts. Use the merge duplicates after importing.

Hi all,
I am having issues with my samsung account. For the past one month, i have been getting the session expired message.
I forgot my password and when i go to retrieve it, i get no matching information. I try to use the find my email option and i also get no matching information as well.
This is getting very annoying and i am thinking my only option is to delete my existing account and creating a new one. However it says that i will lose all accounts, contacts etc.
What do you recommend? Please help!

I've just installed Android 4.2 in my Nexus 7 - and really enjoying the fast user-switching with the builin support for several users.
Though, I can't figure out how account syncronisation is working on the additional accounts.
When I first started the tablet, and associated the "main" account, I got an option to keep the account in sync using my google account.
But, when I created two other users on the tables (which both have google accounts too), I did not get the option to keep the account in sync... And, I now have to manually install all my apps again.
Is there a way around this ?
Were those accounts previously active on a N7?

One of the accounts had been active on it yes. Though, I choose to factory reset and use another account - so I could share it with the wife.
But, with 4.2 we both have an account on there - which is perfect... Except for the fact, that during setup, one cannot choose to restore the account settings from the google-account (Only got that option with the initial main account setup)
Is that really not possible?
bump.... com-on... someone must be using multi-user here ?
Recently I bought a Nexus 7. I made my account primary, made a dummy account for my kid and my wife added herself as a user.
I was checking since settings and updates on my kids account and found to my surprise he could access my wife Gmail. More digging and I found all her Google services were cross linked to the kids.
Does anyone know why?
Also, how do I stop this?
Thanks.

Maybe I need to clarify my problem.
Primary User - Me. No one can access anything of mine.
Secondary User - Wife
Secondary User - Kid
Kid opens Gmail, sees his own account and can change to my Wife's Gmail account as well.
This shouldn't be possible. Any thoughts?
That's odd. I just tried with some dummy accounts and old gmail accounts and I was unable to replicate your issue. One thing I'll suggest is go into your kid's account and check under Settings>Accounts>Google and if your wife's email shows up there, remove it. That's the only thing I can think of right now.

Thanks for the reply. I did that and it worked. My wife's account is still there as a "user" as it should, but now the Kid can't see her Google stuff. It was so weird.

Glad that worked. One of you must have accidentally added her account when the tablet was logged into your kid's account. :good:
Hi everyone...
I have just moved to the G4 from the Samsung S5 and I have a couple of questions that I'm hoping someone can help me with.
First of all on the S5 I have an email app..but on the G4 I can only see Gmail...have I missed some thing?
Second...on the G4 when I'm writing a text or email the numbers are on the letters and can be reached by holding down a letter till the number comes up..is there anyway of getting them on a separate line
I would like to achieve this without rooting my phone..I appreciate the benefits of rooting a phone as I have previously rooted a couple of HTC phones..but at the moment I don't want to root my G4
Thanks for looking and any help is appreciated

On the email, if you want something other than the Ģmail app you'll have to install an email app from Play, there are many to choose from. I personally like [email protected] Mail Pro for my 5 email accounts.
You may also want to take a look at a different keyboard as there are tons of those also, many free.
You can use the Gmail app for other email accounts. As for keyboard look here I've just done it and it works

With Gmail app, all email accounts can be added in the setting if you swipe from the left. I used to have email app as a separate one as well in a Samsung smartphone. Actually I found it is convenient to manage multiple accounts in Gmail app.
The number and symbol can be accessed via the left bottom so called 'symbol key', hit it and you will get numbers in a separate line along with various symbols.
Thanks for all the replies...I'm going to give Gmail app a try..is there a way of removing Gmail from the app but still leave my Gmail account on the phone... basically I don't use Gmail for emails so there is no point in having it on the client..sorry to be awkward lol

Just go into Settings>Apps and disable it. It won't affect anything else. It's a system app and without rooting that will be the best way to hide it.

if gmail is the main one you used to sign your phone in, I assume you can go to gmail app setting and change the option for that account specifically to "don't sync email", then it won't bother you.
