Quick question... Did you change your sim to LTE, some of the Sims don't come prepare to LTE, needs to be written LTE some where in the sim, ask morocco carrier if they really work in band 3 and 20, If someone else has lte with same carrier check bands

how i can check the band active in my phone ?

I have a Sprint Galaxy S4 with T-Mobile service and the only way to get 4 G on the phone was with a custom Rom..

There are threads explaining how to enable all lte bands on Qualcomm chips... I have tried it with Verizon note 3, 4 and verizon lg g3 and didn't work on the notes, only worked on lg g3. I think it's because of the selinux... If you can flash custom kernel you may be able to enable band 3.

{Trick} Get Around "RAT SELECTION RESTRICTED" on i897 modems!

First off i need to thank Xda user KevL for putting me on the first step in the right direction to getting here! Thanks!!!
For any one using and running i897 modem for the love of audience chip support on their device and also need band selection to lock 850 band, this thread is for you!!!
I first started using i9000 modem kernal combos just for the band selection ability.
After AdamHolden85 Allowed me to continue development on his KB1 Fusion rom i started a mission to unlock the "Rat". I gathered much information from users that suffered from "Rat". (weird that some users with i897 modems installed don't have this restriction, but most do)
Some may ask "What is "Rat"?"
dial *#2263# on your captivate while running a i897 modem and you get:
{

"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
but what you are after is:
So lets get to it shall we!
This is really more of a security loop hole!!
1=Remove the simcard from your phone with out removing battery!
(use your nail to lift the edge of the card over the battery lip)
2=dial *#2263# and you will first get "RAT", wait for this pop up!
3=hit "OK" and dial *#2263#, and now you are in!!
4=select the bands you wish to use
5=Menu hard key to get popup here and select end!
6=place device into airplane mode!!
7=reinsert your sim with out removing battery!!
8=Turn off airplane mode and watch cell bars grow and data to connect in your status bar.
9=Dail in *#0011# and check for your self!!
May work on other band selection RAT modems, I only can confirm JH7,JH6,JI6,KB1,and KF1!

This does not effect data speeds because this has nothing to do with HSDPA/HSUPA/HSPA+. That is dependent on something written within the modem that XDA is yet to learn about. (no one seems to wanna touch the modems, in part because they are heavy with proprietary code for things like the bluetooth chip and the GPS chip. proprietary = closed source and a PITA to mod) Tho using GSM = 2G and WCDMA = 3G, so be careful about which 850 or 1900 band you are choosing.
2.
And the same bugs with using a I9000 kernal aply, no buetooth, is that corect?
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
This does not allow for mismatch with kernels, as that is HW communication dependent. Your kernel talking in a 1234 pattern and your modem talking in a 4321 has NOTHING to do with RAT or the band/frequency that your phone it trying to speak to the antenna with.
3.
I have tried this a couple times and it doesn't seem to work for me. RAT is still restricted at the main menu.
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
This does not remove RAT, it gives us a means to work around it. At this point we still don't even know what triggers RAT as some I897 users have shown to not have such restrictions. Until we have figured that out we can't kill RAT, tho we do know it is something within the I897 aka AT&T modems.

Settings may get dropped on reboot, sry but for now this is only a change held in the RAM.
Other things to note:
Phone stays on and running the whole time. The most time consuming part of this is waiting for the phone to realize the removal/insertion of the sim card.
-SGS Tools / nitrality- apps have the "secret/service codes" to speeds up and or ease the process.
No love for WCDMA 900... even on fully auto that lone band is unused.
Folks, follow the instructions exact, and take your time. I tried toying around and skipping = not successful.
Lastly you can't seem to force it to run an unsupported band (like I did with the WCDMA 900), it will eventually seek its way into service again. Keep in mind that having RAT means we have limited control over this aspect of the phone.
Also, LOL that I can force it to use GSM and only have edge data
Awesome !! And big thanks for this Johnsondr80 !! And a thanks to KevL also !!

Also the 850 Band travels better so you'll see stronger signal more often. Should also give better call quality, tho I'm not 100% on that part.

Yep, I897 modem is still hsdpa only. Yep, does not add any new kernel compatibility. Yep, does allow for band selection (tho still not a easily as those without RAT)
So, it is mainly useful for devs / testers, and ppl who have dumb phones that love using 1900 band during heavy traffic and/or low signal.

This does not remove RAT. As Johnsondr sneaks in there "This is really more of a security loop hole!!" In that you can enter the menu with the sim card out and lock in the phone to use your band of choice. When you put the sim back in it stays locked in.
Annoying yes, but at least we now have a means of changing the band when service is generally crappy.

I'm confused why do you think I posted in the wrong thread. I did your step to get audience chip support. Audience chip is suppose to offer better voice quality. Am I missing something?
did this a couple more times to make sure I went through the steps correctly and both times when going back to the menu to see what band it was on I watched it go from 850 back to 1900. This was without a reboot or any button pushes. I hope we can find something that will work consistantly.
This works, however, it does not stick on reboot.

Maybe you miss read. There is nothing here to give audience chip support to those who don't already have it. OP mentions this is for ppl who choose an I897 modem+kernel so that they can use the Audience chip.

T-Mobile GSII First to Use Cellular IPv6

I searched and didn't see it anywhere, but it appears that our beloved T989 is the first to be able to natively use IPv6 over the cell network (thanks to T-Mobile supporting IPv6 on their HSPA networks).
I can't get it to work on Darkside's UCLE2 ROM, but I imagine that's because it's the wrong base or radio or something (waiting on someone to come out with a non-stock UVLE1). Or possibly because IPv6 isn't up yet in my area...
Can anyone running stock UVLE1 confirm that IPv6 is working on their phone?

So what would this do for us? Because I don't quite know personally.

Evidently you didn't search very well, as this is old news
Back on topic: does anyone have aGPS working over ipv6? I've noticed that it doesn't work with ipv4 on my Galaxy Nexus.
IPv6 works on my stock SGS 2 with stock ICS as well as my Nexus S and Galaxy Nexus on ICS
You must have the fully updated stock firmware for this to work on the SGS2
Keep in mind, you must reboot the SGS2 after creating, saving, and selecting the APN.

[tut] How to get WTP 10 on the lumia 640

As you all may know there has been an issue with the availability of WTP 10 for our phones. Even though the lumia 640 is listed in the supported device list.
Microsoft has stated that there is an issue with rolling back to WP 8.1 for the devices that came with an OS version greater than 8.10.15116.125 so they have blocked the ability to install the tech preview on these phones.
Now from what I saw most 640's , including mine , came with a newer build.
With no word from Microsoft on how long this will take to be sorted out I decided to find a way around it.
The idea is to flash this earlier build on your phone and then just use the Windows Insider app.
I managed to find on NaviFirm+ the exact OS that allows us to upgrade to WTP 10 :

No.
LTE = 4G
4G = 4G
H+ = H+
H = 3G+
3G = 3G
E = E
Arguing about what is or is not 4G (or what it's called) is pretty pointless, because the carriers choose what to call it for branded phones, and the OEMs choose what to call it for open-market phones. There's a registry key that lists what text is displayed for each network type. I tweaked it, and no my phone never says "4G"; it'll say LTE, or H+, or just H, or various other 3G or 2G options. Check the registry edit threads for more info.

No one can give me answer at all. As of this moment I own Note4 on Verizon so I wonder if I will be able to use VolTE calling which I actually really enjoy on X Pure 2015.
I want to dump the note4 and switch to the X. Thank you.
I would say no one really knows until they have them in hand, I think in theory it should work, looks like it has all the bands needed. I think it all depends on weather or not Big evil red allows it. ill let you know when i get mine

I think there is a post on a motorola forum stating that VoLTE works. I have not seen anything on HD Voice yet.

Stock only or CM roms/other roms as well?
I have stock and it works.

No hd voice on business lines.. Said that they won't due to it being a non Verizon phone. There is a workaround for personal lines.

Sweet. Did you already have it activated before you popped in a sim to Moto X? I have Note4 atm and it's already active. But one of my lines on VZW also ordered Moto X he is coming from HTC M8. I wonder if I as admin will be able to activate it for him on the website,then he would need to tick the Enhanced 4G LTE option.
I initially cut my sim from my S4 and had no problems. It connected without a hitch. I also bought a Droid Turbo and have switched my sim into the N6. I plan on using that sim on my Pure. I just checked FedEx tracking and have estimated delivery on the 15th.

Confirmed working on Verizon. I had to enable Advanced Calling, thru Verizon again. (Previously working on S5) You may have to enable it for each sim card.

This might sound stupid, but how do you tell that it's working from that pic? Because the phone still shows LTE when on a call?

Correct. I tried multiple manual methods to turn on Advanced Calling. In the end I simply needed Verizon to activate the feature on my new SIM.
If you can't hear the difference, it's probably not working , or you don't have it activated on your account. I can always tell when it's an HD call. It's very distinct.

Was able to enable it right online in myvzw. This is my first time with HD calling. You can and will hear a difference when on phone with other HD calling enabled devices. No feedback/crackle and very very clear sound.
having LTE on during a call doesn't mean it's VoLTE. it means you have simultaneous voice and data. the only way you'll know if VoLTE is working is if you call another verizon person wtih it and it sounds good.
personally, i never had it on my note 4, and have it now but i've never once tried it. i have no idea how good it sounds.
Well, I got it working. I called the Verizon Customer Service number, and when the automated voice asked me to state my problem (I chose technical support), I said "Voice over LTE", and she directed me to an Advanced Calling 1.0 automated setup. I just entered my number and that was it. Now I've got the "Enhanced 4G LTE Mode" option checked under settings --> more --> cellular networks. I'm not sure if HD Calling is working yet or not (but why wouldn't it?), as I don't really know anyone with this feature. I would love to test it out though, if someone knows a number I can call to test it. Is there any way to test HD Calling besides actually calling someone from your contacts?

Yes
Try to select from list 2G and see if the modem works. then try one of the options offered. So I managed to get 4G
I think the problem is with the modem they used in Android Pie: it supports only B1 (2100), B3 (1800+), B5 (850), B40 (TDD 2300) and B41 (TDD 2500).
So 4G is working but only in countries where this bands are used. In Italy for example we have band 3 in highways and cities, but in rural areas we use band 20 and it's gone
I hope that they can solve the problem with a new update.
PS: Don't try to flash 8.1 modem over Android Pie stock rom. It will cause system crashes and SIM card won't work anymore until a reflash of Pie modem.

It also happen with B7, at least for me. In Italy I use Iliad and.. there's no 4g available for me. 3g works but, if it's like how you said, we need to wait for the next update.

I have to say I'm amazed that Xiaomi can release a rom with missing bands. It seems so incompetent. Considering Europe in particular uses these bands and this is the market they are trying to break into it would seem another massive own goal (after the phone for £1 UK farce)!
Can you guys try to use a launcher like Nova that allows to go to activities, search for Settings.BandMode and select Automatic, and see if it helps?

Consider as well that people who have this issue have been "forcing" the update when they were not supposed to get it... You can't blame Xiaomi for that.
If some people got the OTA "normally" and have this issue, then I can understand the complains, but so far it's only people with 0 patience and disregarding the advice of others who warned about risks for LTE while forcing the OTA (and in case it's not clear for some, LTE==4G).

This is simply wrong on a technical level. There is only one version of the update. I also factory reset and the bands are still missing. It's been established that xiaomi have omitted many of the bands. If you go on the firmware thread that joey huab updates he clearly explains that the bands are missing on the pie firmware. It has nothing to do with using a vpn to get the update early!

You have to wait for xiaomi firmware update. The bands are missing.
My wife got the update ota on the mi a1 and also no 4g anymore. No vpn push or anything.
