I'm confused. I already have Jasmine 6.1 installed via Flashfire. This came out last summer I think it was.

this is for people who have newly acquired root through a new root method allowing users on lollipop ver. OF1 to gain root access.

Has anybody tried One Click Root after upgrading to lollipop via ota. Does it successfully root your Verizon note 3?

How would Towel Root-V3 root 5.0? My understanding is Towel Root only works for older kernels.
When I try to run towel root v3 I get "this phone isn't currently supported"
That is because it's not. There is no root for 5.0. The guy that created towelroot(geohot) went to work for google. So now he patches exploits instead of publicly releasing them.
If you want root and a unlocked bootloader then buy a Nexus or switch to T-mobile.
So does anyone think that there will ever be root for the verizon note 3?
Does anyone think that there will be root for the verizon note 5?
Always possible since they got it with the S6.

Root Updated Note 3 with 5.1.1?

Is there a method to root an updated Note 3 for Verizon yet? I have tried like 5 different methods with none of them working. Could I be missing a method that does work?
No root for 4.4.4 and higher. This thread should not be in developer area.

How the heck is this rooted then??
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2760380
There is no root for 4.4.4 or above... yet. I'm not sure there will be, since everyone has moved on and Verizon does not plan to unlock the bootloader. Anyone currently rooted with a 4.4.4 or high ROM, stayed at 4.4.2 and then flashed a custom rom from there.

Pre rooted custom rom when they went to that rom they entered the danger zone. If anything requiring reflashing happens to it they can permanently loose root.

N910PVPS4COK1 100% Stock kernel ROOT. :)

Thanks to @Chainfire and his method to root on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, Samsung devices on 5.1.1 can now enjoy root with a completely stock kernel with SE Android "enforcing." I will be updating this to support "systemless" root, meaning you will be able to achieve root without modifying a your system partition thus making the system believe you are "Official" and is the first step towards being able to accept OTA updates while being rooted.
Instructions:
TAR: Flash with Odin, install SuperSU via TWRP or Google Play.
ZIP: Flash with TWRP, install SuperSU via TWRP or Google Play.
TAR: Download Stock OK1 Kernel with Root support (TAR)
ZIP: Download Stock OK1 Kernel with Root support (ZIP)

Was about to flash this through odin but realized I took the OK1 update. Is this still safe to flash??? I'm gonna hold off before pulling the trigger just in case. Glad I checked!

OK, I attempted to do this... I Odined using the AP option as indicated above. I installed SuperSU and Root Checker Pro. SuperSU and Root Checker Pro show "no binaries" installed. I'm wondering what I did wrong? I have redone this about 4 times.

verizon S5 with BOg5 and lollipop

I bought a new/ used S5 (to replace my rooted S3) and had hoped to root it as well. Towel root made rooting very easy back then (for my S3) and now as I read the threads with people having the same S5 config as mine, there seems to be no way to root......not even by downgrading to 4.4. Is this correct ?
Being new to this, I am a bit confused about the other custom ROMs being discussed. Does my S5 need to be rooted to install a custom ROM ?
Thanks much

Correct, it's been said over and over in this forum. If you are on BOG5 you cannot root or downgrade. And yes, you must be rooted to run a custom ROM.

You need to flash the NI2 kernel forest, then reboot. This should get you into SS. Look for NI2flasher.apk
You will also need to flash your build kernel (OG5) BEFORE you exit SS.

(5.0) Galaxy Note 3 Verizon Rooooooooooooot

Hi Everybody,,
I hope everybody is doing well.....
I need root for Galaxy note 3 Verizon, the version of the system is 5.0. And if the root was still not available i am ready to pay for it.
It's urgent
Search is your friend....
I heard someone was working on a 4.4.4 root
Then use that money to go buy a different phone because Verizon Note 3's with 5.0 on them can NOT be rooted.

Can you downgrade to KitKat and then root to Lollipop?
I rooted mine on KitKat awhile back and installed 5.0 stock and kept root. However, I ran into a problem when trying to flash TWRP because I couldn't access my previous custom recovery (I think I had SafeStrap?).
I used Odin to flash 5.0 stock but lost root.
Thanks

Nope. And you can do nothing to get root short of buying a new phone...or a used Verizon Note 3 that is on 4.4.2 or LOWER.

You can't ODIN to the original stock version and root from there? I'm curious on what would be different if you went back to 4.3 and rooted from there.

Nope...you can not use Odin to go back to lower than 4.4.4. There are hardware "fuses" that once "blown" can not be reset and the system reads those fuses and will not allow an earlier OS to be flashed.

no, wait for the 15th, when there MAY be a working root announced

yes it was rooted but unfortunately they didn't release it to the public. the proof it was rooted because they were able to install a custom rom consisting the Arabic language.

That video was not proof. They could easily have used a prior rooted Note 3 and maintained root when upgrading to 5.0. Perhaps they did gain root on 5.0, but that video doesn't prove anything. I'm anxious for March 15th to see if their claims pan out or if they're just blowing smoke like everyone before them.
The Yemen team finally released it!!forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-galaxy-note-3/general/yemen-root-note-3-n900v-verizon-t3329389
