Audio output on Qtec s100

Can anyone tell me what's the output power in mwatts per channel to headphones on the Magician? Thanks
???
Is there an answer to this question? I just want to know if it makes sence to upgrade the device with better headphones straight out or is it not worth it. THanks
I did 'upgrade' my headphones and everything's working fine.
I opened the plastic case where the earplugs come out, desoldered them and replaced with brand new pro Sony earplugs (~30EUR).
Audio playback quality has improved dramatically.
You may want to install a female mini-jack plug, instead of soldering your earplugs, just in case you need them somewhere else.
I hope it helps.
Silver.
Thanks for reply
I figured that stock headphones work well together with Bass & Treble enhancement. I was also wondering if the Magician will be able to power better headphones, something like Koss Porta Pro, Grado SR60, Shure E4.
I plugged my SHURE E5c earphones on my S100, it's outstanding,
music restitution is close to perfect.
I used an adapter 2.5/3.5 from PocketPCTechs.
Half an hour music takes the battery meter down by less than 5%.
Playlists are stored on SD cards.

Acer case cover mic

Overall, I do like the Acer case, which I have had for two weeks. Good protection and with easy access to most ports and controls.
It fits snugly, so there is little chance of the A500 sliding out when held in landscape mode.
Two flaws:
1) There is no opening for the microSD card. So, you will have to slide the A500 out of the case to get at the slot that holds the microSD card and Sim.
2) Be warned that the velcro tabs on the Acer case are in the wrong position and cover the hole for the microphone.
There are 3 holes on the case (close to the mic), but they are on the outside of the case.
(My skype calls were muffled until I figured this out.)
Nothing on the acer case covers the mic. My wife has an an acer case on her a500 and everything thats said you can hear crystal clear.
>...everything thats said you can hear crystal clear.
Yes. That was also the case for me when using the Recorder and Voice search.
But, sound was muffled with Skype and Gtalk.
Did you try skype and/or Gtalk with and without the case?
Another thing that I noticed with both these applications is that the mic quality improved once I put on headphones when making calls. I.e using the A500 mic but external headphones to listen to the conversation. Otherwise, my voice was garbled.
Would be interested in hearing other folks experience with Skype and Gtalk.
Thanks.

[Q] Headphone jack

So as most of us know the mic on the TF sucks completely for video chatting. Has anyone figured out how to just hook up a mic to the TF without it turning off the TF speakers?
Right now I have a removable mic from my Razor headset that I can plug into any mic jack and use it on, but since the jack on the TF is for headphones and mic, it disables the sound from playing on the internal speakers.
I'm going to try and dig around on the back end to see if I can find the code that disables the speakers, but I was just wondering if anyone has come across this yet?

Click to collapse
My mic is detected as headphones, even worse off than you. You need to get those 1-to-2 splitter for iPad/iPhones, no way of not turning the speakers off (unless you modify the kernel source and compile your own)

Audio jack connector bad contact

This post is to share my experience with the audio jack connector of my Galaxy 3.
The connector had a bad contact for a while. I had to hold the jack in a certain angle to have audio in both ears.
I wanted to buy a new connector, but I could not disassemble the phone completely, so I did not order one.
The solution what helped was that I sprayed a Teflon spray on the earphone connector and connected it to the galaxy 3's jack. And voila, now it perfectly works. The reason I did not spray in directly, that this way I could ensure that only a little lubricant got into the phone.
This little hack saved me around 10 bucks.
I did not find any fixya or whatsoever for the galaxy 3 jack, so I though I post this here.
BTW: this 10 min posts to get into the developer section is such a ####. I just did not want to write meaningless things in here, so I could answer people meaningful stuff.
Strange...I have the same issue. I'm using a set of kind of expensive Denon earbuds , with the slightest touch the volume will drop and headphones will play in mono...totally unusable.
Strange thing is that the stock Samsung Headphones that came with the phone work flawlessly. Even when jiggled around they continue to work in stereo.
The Denons are 2 ring (3 contacts) and the Samsung's are 3 ring (4 contacts)...
Do you think this solution would fix my problem or is it a separate issue? Would I need a 4 contact extension to work with my Denons??
Thanks for any advice!

Headphone / inline media controls or buttons

Does anyone know about headset controls with this phone? It doesn't come with headphones, so there is no guarantee there is any support. The Nexus 7, for instance, does not support headset controls or the headset inline mic. I have seen no reviews that mention this. It's kind of a big deal to me. I would also like to know if its like the S3 where the next/prev buttons are volume, or like HTC where next / prev is next song prev song.
So, anyone heard anything about this?
The inclusion of the FSA8008 chip indicates mic support and send/end support. Next prev or vol up/dn are more up in the air.
i'd love an answer for this if anyone knows
bump for people getting their devices soon
