I bet you never seen Sound & Notification under Settings.
To change the sound, just go Settings - Sound & Notifications - Notifications tab - Drop down Event menu to Phone: Missed Call - You can then change alarm sound here.

[Q] Silence Camera Sounds?

Is it possible to silence the beeping sound the camera makes when focusing? The only solution I've found is to install 3rd party apps.

Do you mean the little ratcheting-like sound before the picture takes or do you mean the shutter sound as it's taking the picture? Or do you mean the sound that happens when you start the camera application?
In Liberty (ROM) you can silence the shutter sound but not the very slight ratcheting sound that is what I assume is the focusing right before the picture is taken.
I'm talking about the beep when you hold the camera button halfway to focus.
Root, purchase and install Root Explorer, open your /system/media/audio/ui folder and touch Mount RW to enable read/write access to the folder. Then find the camera_click.ogg file and add .bak to the extension. That way, you render the sound useless without deleting it, which some phones don't like.

Yeah, thats the advice everyone gets, but thats not the sound I'm talking about. The shutter sound, which is the camera_click.ogg can be silenced. The sound that I'm talking about is the obnoxious beep you hear when you focus the camera.
If possible I'd really like to know how to disable all three sounds.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think that sound is the physical camera making noise and not software related.

It's the same beeping noise that you hear when adjusting the ringer volume.
I know this isn't the answer you're looking for, but if you use the onscreen shutter button it won't make that noise... Perhaps its another sound file elsewhere.....

Well when I use the physical camera button to take a photo it doesn't beep it just makes some noise from the physical camera but if I use the on screen button in the AOSP style camera app I get the beeping that does sound like the ringer adjustment tone. But I'm running Liberty so idk if there silence shutter sound disables more than just the shutter sound at least for the physical button.

Sorry, miss-read your question. I can silence the shutter, but for some reason have not found where to silence the focus.

[Q] how can I silence my camera shutter

Hi, got a rooted LG G2 D802.
I am looking for a way to silent my camera shutter.
I use a 3rd party camera software that uses system sound, and doesn't have a option to disable sound.
Is that doable? How?
tks for the help.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2548974 ... has option to disable shutter sound. quiet version will disable all sound (focusing etc)

does this software shuts all camera sound even from for other apps? or just for itself?
cuz i am not looking for an alternative app for shooting, i have an specialized app that uses the camera, and has the annoying shutter sound that i want to mute.
Have you tried deleting/replace ending with bak?

Camera shutter sound

Hi! I really like the new camera on my s5 but I can't turn the shutter sound off. I sometimes take pictures in the bus from the outside landscape so its very annoying to have. Is there a way to turn this off without having to root the phone or using a 3th party app?

In camera app, tap settings, you should get all the icons such as picture size, burst shots, etc. It's a 4x4 row of settings. What isn't obvious is that this row will scroll, just scroll down and you'll get another 11 or so options, one of which is the shutter sound.

Must be carrier specific. Verizon does not have this toggle. The only way to turn off shutter sound is to turn your phone on vibrate or silent.
FWIW T-Mobile version has it.

I don't have that setting on EE or Orange in UK England handset

My T-Mobile-branded S5 (germany) doesn't have it either. It works for me if I mute the whole phone (vibrate or mute) the shutter sound is off too.
If you have root, it shouldn't be a problem to just delete/rename the sound file, but I'm nor rooted (yet), so can't tell for sure.

Lower down the volume or put it in silence. On mine, I can't find way to turn it off.

I'm in the UK, if I were to buy a sim free S5 from a UK retailer is the option to mute the shutter sound available in the camera app settings? If not does muting the phone entirely mute the shutter sound?

Lg g6 dial tone

Hi, looked thru the menu but could not find anything to turn off the dial tone when dialing a number, its annoying as fucc, thought I would give LG another chance but with the late updates and other things after this phone I'm done with them.
Can we turn it off or no?
thanks
Yes you can. Go to settings then sound and then sound effects. You will have an option to disable dial tones.
