Can we get a definitive answer from someone that if we flash the g928c marshmallow firmware in the f variant that it will or will not trip knox??
A thread was recently created with a guide on how to flash this however as of yet there has not been a definitive answer of where or not this trips knox, it shouldn't as it is not rooting but I'm not sure and me and a lot of other people don't want to risk it, if anyone is on knox 0x0 and is going to flash this firmware could you let the rest of us know if it trips the knox counter before we **** up our phones

Dont worry about it, there is nothing wrong with showing C or F.. My device is C variant btw. The firmwares of G928C variant, already has got F basebands included.. You can change it as F after flashing F variant's MM Bootloader-modem or whole MM F firmware(after release ). Just Ignore it..
So how does one trip Knox? If I use the appropriate F Pit file, it wont trip knox and I get to flash the C firmware?

I tripped my knox awhile back. I have g928p. Ive been thinking about testing different firmwares on my device. I flashed an international about a month ago with no issues.

could changing firmware of sm-g928f could improve my network coverage? had bought an sm-g928f edge plus and had the worst signal ever, can't even receive sms, im from the Philippines by the way and already had some international variant devices but had good signal and data network from my previous devices but not this one. I would like to change it to a Korean or local firmware, would it be possible? can you sir please help me on how to do so?

Could be firmware/modem related yes but I'm not sure what a C firmware would do for you.

just thought that possibly, if I would try replacing my firmware to a local one (Philippines) or at least the Korean, I could improve my signal strength since currently at my area, I am having trouble finding connectivity, maybe just a trial and error, I already had Korean variant devices but did not find any trouble on connectivity in my place but my s6 edge plus has no network at all, could it be possible? any advice sir, been looking for threads for possible fix but still could not find any and I guess this is my last resort, thanks for the reply anyways

@azdine57 All models, before in old times yes, pit files are made according the size of the emmc. Now it's made the partition that matter and the last one its the user data, left space it's associated to the last partition. So now no need the pit files according to emmc capacity. Hope it was clear enough explaining.

Not so clear because now you have different hidden partitions, over unbranded phones, over mine for example, it's unbranded version for France, tried to flash the lattest NEE unbranded and ODIN fail at hidden partition because size, so solution it's flashing pit file with hidden partition bigger or remove the hidden package over the odin package. But the appropriate method it's the pit file

Thank you for the answer. Sorry if my question is stupid, I am competent not at all in this domain.
Thus I can flash my Note 5 ( N920IDVU2AOJ3) with the version given here ( N920CXXU1AOH2) in order to get French?
In my searches I also found others ROM (on "ndroidzone") around N920IDVU1AO and many different letters at the end.
Is their compatibility with my phone better and how to know if those there contain French?

How can that be when they are the same phone just different region.
They have exact same hardware inside .
Do you know a technical reason why same phones can not use MM
The modem/baseband part is different in these two phones. I am 99% sure if you flash either phone with the others firmware you will end up with a softbricked phone.
Baseband and modem only affect the ability to use network so if your country doesn't have that frequency then yes phone won't work..won't soft brick but won't get any signal either..
They are identical phones expect they are made for different regions...
Mine is optus AU the c model could be anything from Afghanistan to Vietnam. ..

As long as the device model is labelled as s6 I worked but YouTube was laggy, changing it to S4(i9505) fixed YouTube but stopped the theme store. Anyone willing to help out is gladly appreciated. Lets see if we can do it. As it will give our 5.0.2 devices 6.0.1 ROMs!! :thumbup:

You can't, A500F is snapdragon chipset, A5000 is exynos so won't work sorry. And Odin detects the exact model of each device when flashing so the only way it'll work is to port it

It may be a security patch which will affect rooted devices, ofcourse you can re-root but just a heads up

How is your s7 edge still on that firmware? I have the s7 edge unlocked and sim free from Samsung in the UK and have received the June update. If you haven't received it yet download it from sammobile.com and flash it through odin you won't lose any data on your phone.

I have a firmware waiting to be downloaded from samsung but I am scared to update my phone. I am use to having an iPhone and if you update your iPhone you lose your jailbreak. I don't know how it works with samsung so I am holding off until I get more clarification.
Try rebooting your phone if you want that update. That's what happened to me and I have the same model as you.

The update should come, I don't see a reason as to why it hasn't got to your phone. And your welcome.

The first update came last week and the second one came a couple days ago. I guess the second update has patches for the first update.
I have a Samsung galaxy s7 edge which is still on the marshmallow firmware. It is 6.0.1
baseband version: G935FXXU1APB2
Is there anyone out there who is like me with still no Nougat update.
Iv searched for new updates but it keeps saying I am on the latest firmware.
I know s7 edge has had the nougat update for a while now just wondering how or when I will get it?

which country are you using your phone in ?
Have you done any modifications to your phone, that could cause the phone no to download updates ?
Nope no modifications. Was bought from ebay.
Iv installed this phone info app and iv gone into that and it says latest firmware forbidden?
Why is this the case?
The csc codes are blank too
I am in the UK
Go to sammobile and download stock firmware for your country and network and flash with odin..make sure you check what chip your device is..ie snapdragon or exynos?

Iv installed Sammobile device info app and that shows baseband version product code and boot loader but CSC is blank.
So if i just flash CSC and then try OTA update from phone will it find Nougat update?
Yes flashing csc should be fine..i think its btu..and it wont void warranty as its a stock firmware and not custom..

Download phone info from playstore it will tell you your phones hardware..

Thanks can i just flash csc or do i need to flash any other things like modem? Or anything else in odin?
Csc is fine..its only a file to find your region and once you do a software update on your phone it will download all necessary files anyway which will be different on nougat..

Well btu is the uk unlocked one so i would go with that..have you used odin before?

Yes used odin before many years ago been a while i think you just select the csc file you want to flash and put the phone in download mode and flash it.
Do you think thats the reason why the phone does not update to nougat because its missing the csc file?
Where do i get the csc file from sammobile?

Yes m8 as every update is different for other regions..but you might aswell flash the whole firmware as you have to download it all for the csc anyway..and check on afew youtube videos m8 before flashing as this phone is abit more different compared to years ago..

Will download nougat firmeware when sammobile site goes into action at the moment cant download free version due to maintenance work.
Will the firmware contain all the files that are needed to flash? CSC/PDA
Im on marshmallow now can i flash using odin the nougat?
Sorry for asking so many questions its just that last time i flashed using odin was using the galaxy s2 times. Dont want to risk a bricked phone.
Just want it to update to nougat thats all.
Thanks for your help once again might need you when iv downloaded the firmware and about to flash it in a couple of days time.
Ha no worries..yes u just download the s7 edges model and network and the country you want in sammobile download it and it will contain three files and it will overwrite everything and upgrade to nougat..its fine the s7 isn't easily bricked flashing official firmware but is slighty different from the s2 days..?

Whatever suits u..but even if its not the latest firmware..you can update to the latest through ur phone updates..
